I stayed here one night and enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and well kept. The staff was friendly. There was a filtered tank in the gym that I used to fill up my water bottle! I slept so good and through the entire night which is very rare for me. The room was very close to the elevator but I didn't hear much noise. Throughout my stay. Also located in a great spot next to a Waffle House and across the street from the mall. You could walk to both! My only complaints are the room didn't have a laundry bag in it and the trash can outside was very full. The parking lot was also so full to the point there was almost no where to park. I recommend removing a few of the diamond elite parking spots as only 1 out of many were being used. read more

I wouldn't stay here again. My room was clean but the walls are paper thin. I got no sleep. The room to my left had children who woke up very early and the one to my right had two adults who were talking very loud. The room wasn't bad for the price I paid for and the gym was okay. The staff was very courteous and it was about a 10 min walk to the convention center. There is a Waffle House within walking distance. There are other hotels near by at the same rate. None of my other coworkers had any complains at the Hyatt. I only stayed here because I was a IHG Platinum member. Never again. read more

We were in the area for a concert and decided to just stay overnight since it was late and we were tired. This location was close and rooms were available so we booked it. Check in was easy. The two ladies at the front desk were super nice and made us feel welcomed. I saw in a previous review that the hallway smelled nice and I agree! There was a very noticeable sweet smelled when we got off the elevator. This made up for the room numbers oddly being out of place. That was odd, but nbd, we found it. The room was nicely decorated and tidy. It did feel a little crowded with furniture, but again, not a big deal. Now, for the absence of 2 stars on this review. The bed was hard and the shower was meh. Those are big things for me. If you like harder beds you'll love this one, but it gave me a back ache. The shower was ok, but I had to use the soap pump like a hundred times to get some good suds. Not something you want to do with a backache. Plus there was this thing on the ceiling...it looked as if there was a hole or water damage and someone slapped a big large pizza size glob of puddy up there..and then crossed their finger that no one would look up to see how crappy it looked. It's not a huge deal, but it doesn't help either. We didn't eat the breakfast so can't comment on that. I called the hotel about this $15 charge that showed up on my account. I was told it was for incidentals and should go back into the account shortly. It's still pending like 5 days later, so I'll just keep an eye on it. This hotel was at a good price point and close to the Coliseum, but if I were to stay in the area again I'll probably try a different spot. read more

Don't do it. Old and dirty. Curly you know where hairs left on the bathroom floor. Bottom of tub was black and mold under the soap holder. Door handle was broken so couldn't close bathroom door all the way. Toilet handle was also broken so had to lift back of tank to flush. Mold on the lampshade by the bed, which didn't even work. Carpet was torn up and baseboard falling off. Elevator broke so fire alarm went off at 6 am. Had to exit building until fire department came to turn it off. I have stayed 2 weekends for basketball games. They have COVID-19 guidelines, but still a hot breakfast. The staff serves it to you. The location is perfect because it's right across from the outdoor mall with shopping and lots of food places within arms reach. Walmart, Kroger's, and Target are a rocks throw from the location. read more

The staff were very friendly and the rooms look very nice. The soap bottles in the bathroom were a pain so if you didn't bring your own soap, you had a more difficult shower. Also, the setup of the shower was very weird. In order to turn the shower head on, you had to quite literally pull the bottom of the faucet out. There was no hand soap in the bathroom as well. The breakfast was sub par. Everything was cold and hard. In fact, we even tried eating some cups of yogurt to find out they were extremely out of date. read more

Bathroom was not cleaned , when the technician came to clean he asked if we had just checked In with disbelief, air conditioner stopped working around 11 :00 p.m. there was no one to service it. Front desk staff very nice and courteous. The room I had needed a little more attention from housekeeping. A plenty of pubic hairs behind the bathroom door and lots of dirt and dust in the corners. The carpet needed to be vacuumed. The bed was comfortable. The couch needed tossed out and be replaced. The television stand looked like an animal had been chewing on the corner. I'm updating from my room, if that tells you anything. They are fantastic. The rest of our family stayed at the Embassy Suites, and they all came here to hang out. Look, my family is big and crazy, and management allowed us to use the meeting room free of charge. We had a small issue with our room and they went well above and beyond to fix the issue. The breakfast is also the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The place is immaculate, the staff is cheerful, attentive, and funny, and the stay was perfect. Thank y'all so much! read more

Stayed for two nights with two double beds, the room was clean and was perfect for our group of four. The room had included a fridge with a freezer and a microwave which was very nice. All the staff I had encountered were very sweet and addressed our needs with a smile. The breakfast was nice and had a few options, the woman who prepared the food was hilarious and personable. We stayed here for the annual Basslights weekend at Hampton Coliseum. It is about a ten minute walk and is along the strip with other hotels so we ran in to fellow bassheads all the time. We didn't feel too removed from the happenings. That being said, they keep this hotel quiet. No loud parties here. If you want to party, embassy suites, days inn, and red roof are your best bets. Customer service was great and we never felt uncomfortable walking back in and out at all hours (quietly) inebriated. They know how basslights is! I only made it to breakfast once and it was alright. They have a good variety of hot foods but I'll say that I've had better from other Holiday Inn Expresses. The beds were so comfortable. Lots of pillows. Everything was clean and our air unit worked fine. We enjoyed our room. There are plenty of food locations nearby and a huge shopping area. Forgot to pack? No problem. Access to this place is a little annoying because you cannot turn left in to the property. You have to go down a ways to a light, where you can't make a U turn, then turn around in a random parking lot and come back. Minor complaint in the end though. read more

This hotel was clearly renovated fairly recently - everything inside is new and fresh-looking, and the furniture is certainly a step up from your average Holiday Inn Express. I think the bellman said that it used to be a Comfort Inn and then Holiday Inn took over. Staff were friendly, parking was easy and convenient, and the hotel is located right by the interstate so it's a perfect place to stop off for some rest before hitting the road the next day. The Waffle House right next door was definitely a plus, but also negated the usefulness of the free breakfast at the hotel in the morning. My only complaints were that the walls here were paper-thin (I could hear the entire conversations of the people staying in the next room over) and the heater rattled like crazy for the first 10-15 minutes it started back up each time. I'm sure if I had complained they would have switched me to another room, but by the time I had settled it was already 1:00am and did not feel like switching rooms. Great location in between Williamsburg and the beach. If you just need a spot to stay and don't care about any of the cons this place is for you. It is clean, heated pool, microwave, fridge and and easy drive to both locations. it is situated right across the street from a new outdoor shopping center. Breakfast is also a plus if you are looking to save some money. Pancakes, coffee cinnamon buns ect. Customer service was also above par. The cons: the road it is on is busy. A lot of cars going by at all hours and the occasional kid thinking he wants to drag race. It is also difficult to get in and out of this place because the road is so busy. Bad enough you can hear the cars going by but you also have the sound of water coming down the walls from the other rooms and the ac/heating unit making all kinds of noises thoughout the night. Not the normal hum you'd expect. Vending machines didn't work on the fourth floor you might have to check the other floors. I would stay here again but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more

I come here once a month to visit my family in Virginia and each time I am beyond satisfied with the customer service. I'm from New York, so just the standard "Good morning, how are you?" (Sadly) seems foreign to me. But all of the staff takes the time to make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying their stay. The free breakfast is suprisingly delicious and they have a wide selection. Since getting the IGH credit card and becoming a Ihg rewards member I've been greeted as a platinum elite member and had my butt kissed a little, but not here. Don't get me wrong the girl at the desk was super friendly and really nice but the hole ihg butt kiss thing was out the window. No butt kissing from any of the staff here. As we came back and forth from the entrance during the day new people were at the desk and not even a how are you today. Don't get me wrong I'm not looking to get my butt kissed but I'm so used to employees at Holiday Inn Express being overly attentive and nice so the lack of attention was uncommon for this chain of hotels. I didn't give 2 stars because of the staff I gave 2 stars because this is the hotel a million bad smells. There is no ventilation near the elevators so it's musty and hot. Funky smells in elevators is not cool. I was in room 203 and the room has stained carpet and a tub that could use a deep cleaning. I'm saying that the room was super dirty but it has been a while since a deep cleaning or update. In summary Funky smells in the elevator areas and needs updated or deep cleaned in the rooms. read more

I've stayed in a few Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout my travels and all of them have been decent, clean hotels. This one was the exception. The staff was downright incompetent, the room was not clean, the free breakfast is not on par with other hotels, and the hotel is far from quiet. In fact, if you value sleep, this is not the hotel for you. Add in a completely convoluted front entrance and it makes for an incredibly unpleasant experience. If you're going to be in Hampton for a night there are much better options a stone's throw away. read more

Pool is very very small when we first checked in the hallway on top floor was extremely hot and humid I believe the A/c was out by morning it was working. The wifi is extremely slow I mean less than 1mbps at 2230hrs. At that speed you couldn't visit any website. The rooms are modern with real hdtv not a flat screen with standard definition. Parking was good no issues finding a spot. The road is extremely busy you need a lot of horsepower to pull out of parking lot onto main rd during the day and to pull in you need good breaks because it's right off an exit ramp. But my biggest issue was wifi I needed to check emails and fill out forms that took 3 minutes or more to download. My wife and advised me to add the slow elevators. From top floor you can walk to the main floor faster than the elevator can get there and take you down. read more

The staff is accommodating and they offer a free breakfast which is good for the kids. Rooms are very clean and everyone is polite. My husband and I just recently stayed at this Holiday Inn during the time of William and Mary's graduation. The hotel was extremely busy and was book for the night. We stayed in building 6, the shower was very dirty and it looked as though there had been a bad leak from the ceiling. The fan in the bathroom didn't work and toilet was constantly running. Our "Private" lock didn't work so we called down to the front desk to ask them to put up a sign on the door. The sign was on the door the next morning but that didn't seem to bother the cleaning people because at around 9am they actually attempted to get into our room (thankfully, the deadbolt was on the door). I heard them say, "Oh, their sleeping too" and then they closed the door. This is a horrible hotel, not only was it dirty, but I didn't feel safe while I stayed there. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone; in fact I would suggest you stay far away from it. read more

I don't know where to start on how wonderful my stay here so far has been. I checked in on a Saturday during a big concert at the coliseum. Even though they were busy, the staff understood my circumstances and were great. Got to my room and it was clean and fresh. I have not heard any other guests in the halls. I see them at breakfast and the parking lot is full, but the noise level is nothing and I am thankful for that. The in room Keurig is great. I get downstairs to breakfast and am always greeted with a good morning. Food is good and hot. Came back one day and the manager said welcome home. It had been a long day with my kids as my daughter-in-Law was in labor and I was back to get a few hours sleep. The people here are beyond great. Emma the lady who cleans my room always smiles and chats and was so sweet to my grandson when I had to make a quick trip to my room. I have two more weeks here and I will miss everyone when I return to CO. The staff cares about you and they treat you like family. It shows that they like their jobs.
