Been staying here consistently over the past several months. The staff is very nice. They had some recent turnover so a couple have left, but most have remained and service still good. Lots of great positives here. The rooms are clean, mini-fridge, microwave, clean bathroom. Shower has shampoo / soap / conditioner dispensers which is great. Towels plentiful, clean. Beds are relatively firm. The TV - good selection of channels, and HBO is their jam there while others I have seen Showtime. It's all good since I like HBO. They also have good options to plug in your devices, extra outlets located on top of the end table and desk, and USB option so you don't have to get on you knees. Great concept. Breakfast options open until 10am which is solid. Pretty good options, the manager there cares about her customers and does a great job keeping it up and the quality too. My favorite is the oatmeal - which is great to eat throughout the day, something I don't make a lot at home. The eggs here are solid - typical omelet w/ cheese at times, but I love the scrambled eggs which are fluffy and good quality. Bacon here looks good but is thin and sometimes greasy and not as satisfying, wish it was thicker cut and crispier. Waffle stations available too. I like the yogurt options and also milk and chocolate milk. They also make bags of snacks with bottled water for you to take on the go and cannot eat there. I wish: - they had A2 milk or lactose free milk options - they had sausage links (I've seen at some comparable hotels in area) - but I don't really need the extra cholesterol so not a deal breaker. - They could do something about the plethora of kids that stay there w/ families. That's the only major downside here is some large family groups or teams stay there, and a lot of the parents don't watch their kids and allow them to roam around aimlessly. So one night they were running up and down the hallway until midnight - omfg I was irritated. And some of them treat this hotel like it's home so they don't mind yelling or talking loud in the hallways. Or the room above me - the kids are jumping and running around until late - omg. But it usually ends at midnight if you can handle that. There's also an indoor pool there with games. I have mentioned this and the staff are aware and said I need to let them know and they will say something. But they try to keep things under control and they are frustrated as well. Recently I noticed their prices have increased by nearly 50%, so I split my time w/ another hotel 25 min away, but overall when I am in this area I do like this Hampton Inn and do recommend them. Wonderful stay! I stayed the previous night at another Hampton Inn and was so disappointed. What a difference. Everyone was kind and helpful. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. We did have a balcony room. I was worried the noise would be an issue, but it was not. It was very loud if you sat on the balcony. Should be expected since it overlooks the indoor pool and game room. I would diffently stay at this Hampton Inn again. FABULOUS customer service! read more

Great pool. Nice amenities. Awesome location. Easy check-in. Housekeeping/room attendants failed to make up my bed during my two-day duration at the hotel. They replaced the towels and emptied the garbage cans, but, the bed was left unmade. They jacked up the prices over Labor Day weekend - which I get. But, to not make up the bed for a room in Holland, Michigan that was priced for over $200 a night is not okay. Other than that, all good! read more

This is perhaps the most unusual Hampton Inn in which I have ever stayed. And I have stayed in a lot of Hampton Inns, all around the US. Here is a list of a few things that make this a very unusual member of the chain: Like virtually all Hampton Inns, this hotel has a clean and appealing pool. Unlike others, however, it has an OUTDOOR hot tub (great on a cold night with snow, as last night was) and an arcade of sorts. The latter has various games for both kids and adults, and is near the very large indoor pool area. A hockey game looked particularly fun, and is decidedly Michigania. Virtually no Hampton Inns have a restaurant within. This one does. It is a fairly simple one, offering pizza, nachos, sandwiches and the like, with a bar serving various wines and beers. Not great food -- we had the pizza -- but not bad food, either. It offered an alternative to a nearby restaurant that had a very long wait on the Monday after Christmas. The standard Hampton Inn has ridiculous signs on the inside of elevator doors. Those of you who frequent this chain know what I mean -- "Lol", "cray cray", "selfie", and the like -- but the manager of this idiosyncratic member of the chain seems to have chosen to go without them. (This is a plus). Within the all-important room, things are fairly standard Hampton. Perhaps more in the way of windows than most, but the usual comfortable bed, a couch upon which to work and write reviews, a fridge, good-sized TV, standard clean bathroom. The only difference is that a very fancy automated (push-button) mechanism has been installed to raise and lower the window shades. Figuring this out is a potential adventure :) All in all, a good experience that exceeded expectations. read more

My stay at the Hampton Inn Holland was truly outstanding. The quality of my stay is a good reflection on what is "luxury" for a business traveler. As a business traveler, getting aspects of the stay right is muck more important to me than having more 'stuff'. The management and staff of this hotel truly sweated the details in getting their guest experience just right. Check-in was smooth and quick. The renovated rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors were clean, modern, and efficient. The quality of breakfast was excellent. See the pictures I've attached. Two nice surprises were night light in the bathroom and smoothies for breakfast. When I travel for business, 'luxury' is having details sorted out so I sleep, recover, and do work more comfortably and efficiently. That sounds simple, but doing that is something that many hotels can't achieve as it involves sorting out many factors such as speedy check-in and check-out, heating/cooling systems that operate unobtrusively, bathrooms that are clean and efficient to use, beds that are comfortable, lighting controls that are logically placed, among other considerations. This Hampton Inn got all those details right. Highly recommended in the Holland, MI area. read more

As a family with two younger kids they gave us a room on the ground floor close to the lobby... and hotel bar. It was LOUD and rowdy well until midnight Friday. Hampton Inn Holland did an amazing job of making us feel safe and secure when we stayed with them during Covid. First off, the hotel appears to be recently nicely remodeled. The rooms and common areas were immaculate. With the Hilton digital key we did not need to check in, but my husband is a creature of habit and stopped at the front desk anyway. The desk staff was masked and very helpful and polite. The pool and gym were closed due to current regulations. The morning breakfast was very well organized. Staff asked that family members condensed to avoid too many people congregating in line. Staff served up eggs, bacon, waffles, sausages, beverages, bagels and some grab and go items from behind plexiglass. Ample free parking lot. read more

Nice clean hotel. Very convenient to anywhere in town. Easy to get to, and there is ample parking - even for large trucks and busses. Staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a very nice hotel in Holland. We stayed here for a couple days and I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. I also really enjoyed the hot tub since it's hard to find hotels with them. I do a lot of traveling due to work, and this is one of the best stays I have ever had. Room was very comfortable and I can't think of anything that was missing. Large pool area for families who are staying and need a place to unwind. I suspect there are a lot of families most weekends, so it will be a little noisier. Free breakfast had a lot to choose from. The evening bar had a good selection of drinks and small but tasty selection of food. Desk staff was friendly, restaurant staff was attentive, and the building was clean. read more

We stayed for two nights while visiting Holland. The room was spotless clean and modern. Beautiful lobby and the staff was great. Stayed here twice. We had booked a suite because we had the kids with us- the second time, we were given one that reeked of smoke. They did not have another suite, but instead comped us two rooms, which was more than I expected- nicely handled. Staff is friendly, rooms are decent, the pool and game room are nice. The breakfast is included and decent, but be prepared for crowds and noise. Good option in Holland, particularly when traveling with kids. read more

We were atva funeral today and up since 530 and on the road by 6. Besides a day of traveling not being able to check into our normal hotel Holiday In . Bartender was awful. Accused me of being wasted and refused to serve me. Sorry, I was at a funeral all day and crying all day, but I was never asked or talked to or anything. I felt humiliated and got up and left. Had she talked to me and asked me how my day was even or where I was from and if I was driving! She would have found out I wasn't driving . We walked there we and we were at a funeral and staying at the Holiday Inn. We walked over. Awful. We have family here. I thought oh we could stay bere..never mind." I like our charming Holiday Inn. I get my eyes look bad bc my cousin died and lost a long battle to cancer, and I haven't slept in the last day bc I worked yesterday, we came up today. Ugh.. insensitive people. So happy we chose this hotel for our family vacation. We stayed 3 nights here and enjoyed having a clean room, comfortable beds and a kind/welcoming staff. The arcade is small, yet perfect - a fun way to end a busy day of sightseeing. The pool and hot tub area were great as well. Large pool with lights that change colors. And we liked that the pool and arcade area were one open concept so that you could play while watching the kids swim. The continental breakfast was very good; as was the 24/7 coffee service. The only negative of this place would be the in-hotel restaurant, Sharkee's. Go elsewhere for a good meal. The hotel was also a perfect central location for all of the tourist destinations that Holland has to offer. We will be back and definitely recommend for anyone staying in the area. read more

I don't understand how people can rate his hotel 5 stars. I'll give it 3.5 stars and round up to 4 if I rate it against other Hamptons. The breakfast is a typical Hampton breakfast. This week they served no sliced fruit. The bread/muffins were not very fresh. The hot water was super hot every day; that I had to let my tea cool for 20 minutes. Having a bar is a plus but having the air-conditioning blowing was annoying. I asked a waitress to turn off and she said she couldn't. The room was clean and the bathroom was large. The heating/air-conditioning controls worked nicely. The exercise room was large but mostly empty. It had 1 elliptical and 2 treadmills. The light sensor was a pain because I was on the elliptical and the lights went out every 10 minutes. I had to keep getting off since the sensor was over the treadmill. The equipment is older and the TV's were on the wall (I can live with) except when someone has the TV on next to me. Internet was not working well during the week. I kept getting knocked off. The Thursday night football game was not available in the room. I couldn't even get a TV listing. The channels only went up to 41 and the front desk could only give me one that didn't match. Staff was very friendly. You get to use an outside gym but it is a dump so don't waste your time (you will find mind yelp review on Family fitness). read more

We've stayed at many Hampton Inns all over the country but, this has to be one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. We were welcomed at the front desk by a very friendly staff. The room was spacious, clean and the usual clean duvet covers were in place. They actually have a restaurant and a sports bar inside along with a beautiful indoor pool. We were told that this one of only four in the country that have this feature. Breakfast was served in the bar and the food was plentiful, fresh and very tasty. If you like fresh fruit they have a large bowl with an assortment of pineapple, melons, grapefruit and orange slices and whole fresh strawberries. This a very family oriented hotel. There is a nice indoor pool with sauna, game room and lounge area. It's a nice free breakfast in the morning and a fun bar at night. The location is close to Saugatuck, Grand Haven etc. Holland has a nice beach, but bring your own food because the line is usually out the door. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and the whole check in- out process was quick and painless. I highly recommend. read more

Stayed two nights at this Hampton Inn. Check-in was fine, room not so much. The window provided a view of a blank masonry wall ten feet away. Of the eight pillows in the room, five were filled with duck feathers, which we had to sort through and remove from the room. The morning after our first night we needed to get a replacement key card at the front desk, the clerk provided our key card without speaking to or looking at us - it seemed we were bothering him. Breakfasts were adequate and typical for these pandemic times, interestingly the only napkins available during our second morning were cocktail napkins, which we were directed to retrieve from the end of the hotel bar. We made our reservation through the Hilton website, which provided no opportunity to indicate preferences. Hotel staff explained that we should call them directly about things like feather pillows being removed from the room. Our room assignment was puzzling. The hotel was not full. Perhaps most guests do not mind a view of a blank masonry wall, though this seems doubtful. We may stay here again, but we will be sure to communicate directly with the hotel. read more

This hotel has been the best I've ever stayed at. We arrived a few hours early and they took my phone number and sent a text message when the room was available. Very quick check in process. The pool was amazing and the two hot tubs were also great! The room was very clean and huge. Bed was very comfortable and so we're the pillows. The next morning we had the breakfast buffet. Booked this hotel on Expedia since I had 100$ credit. Consequently they threw me in a handicapped room. I travel a lot so I get it. However I stayed at this Hilton owned hotel twice before. Once we got a remodeled room which was nice. Second time we got a non remodeled room which is basically bottom of the barrel from 1994. I'm Hilton honors gold so I simply asked upon check in for a remodeled room and basically was told I was out of luck. Not the way to treat loyal gold level customers Hilton. I can't believe this is a Hampton Inn. Seriously. I don't know what's so special about Holland but this Hampton is out of this world. I've stayed at a Hampton Inn in NYC and it was not even half as nice as this one is. The hotel is very modern and high quality. It doesn't feel dingy like a lot of their other hotels do. We had a king room with jacuzzi and loved it. The bed is ridiculously comfortable; it was so hard to wake up in the morning. The jacuzzi is in a great spot as you can just angle the TV towards the jacuzzi and camp out in there. I walked down to their bar right off the lobby, grabbed a few cold beers and came back and we watched the Breaking Bad season premiere from our jacuzzi. The pool is huge. Really huge. The hot tub was nice as well. The entire pool/patio area is really nice, and there's even a little game room off to the side. The free breakfast in the morning was surprising as well. I walked away with waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, bagels and some juice for the wife and I to share. I'd even go so far as to say it's the nicest continental breakfast we've ever had in a hotel similar to this. I was blown away by this place. There really is no place better to stay in town, period. Definitely go with them if you're looking for a place to crash for the evening! read more

Decent hotel but I won't be staying here again. First I want to say that my friend booked this hotel. Secondly, I want to add that I am a former Hilton employee myself. I worked at a Hilton property in London, UK as a receptionist and I only resigned in January 2020 because I was moving back home to Michigan, but I was thrown a party by the staff and urged by the front desk manager to go back to the US and seek a higher position within the Hilton brand because of my talent. Additionally, before working for the Hilton brand, I have also worked for a boutique hotel in downtown Detroit and I have been a receptionist for over 10 years. Now that that has been established, let me tell the issues that I had with this hotel. The biggest issue was the room. They assigned us to room 112. I whispered to my friend to ask for a room on a higher floor. She did and the receptionist Chelsea said "actually I want to keep you in this room because it's large." Well we certainly weren't looking for large. Any hotel room in the United States is usually a decent size compared to its European counterparts. If we wanted a larger room, we could have paid for the king suite. We actually ended up passing right by room 112 because it looked like a utility closet from the outside. Room 112 was awful because this hotel has outdoor music. Not lobby music, but outdoor music. And guess where room 112's window faces? You guessed it! That outdoor music! After mildly complaining, I was told by the front desk that the music was on a timer. Which I was able to pick up on because I was woken up every morning at 7am by the music. My friend and I were on vacation. I did not want to wake up at my normal work hours during my vacation. My friend and I would do so much during our trip and visit so many nearby cities, that by the time we got back at 10pm, I had a headache & was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. But guess who was kindly shouting a lullaby, or more like a concert to me as I slept? That outside music! The second issue with this hotel was the breakfast. It was nice that breakfast was complimentary because at the Hilton property that I worked at, breakfast was only complimentary for Gold & Diamond members. When breakfast is not complimentary, I typically never add on hotel breakfast for this very reason. My friend is Vegan and I am vegetarian. This hotel did not have dairy-free milk or creamer. And their breakfast was typically compromised of bagels (no non-dairy cream cheese), English muffins, fried eggs and pork sausage. Here's a list of all the people who cannot enjoy this breakfast: people who are lactose intolerant, people who are gluten intolerant, vegans, lacto-vegetarians, Muslims and I'm sure that I've missed some. Needless to say the breakfast was not enjoyable. The third issue with the hotel, which is a very minor issue, is that we asked for our room to be cleaned on the second day of our stay but it was not. We pointed this out to the front desk and it was cleaned on the 3rd day. And the final issue, which is again a minor issue, but if you're aiming for an inclusive hotel then it's an important issue. My friend started her period on the day of check-out. She didn't have any pads, and I wasn't due for my period so I didn't have anything either. I asked the front desk and they only had tampons. I'm not sure if they were out of pads or if they only offer tampons. But I hope that they offer both. We are not Muslim, but many Muslim women do not wear tampons because it can be seen as a cultural taboo. My Muslim friends do not wear tampons and my friend and I who stayed in this hotel do not use tampons. So it just seems like this hotel is missing the mark on providing an inclusive place for all kinds of people to stay there. I would not recommend this hotel nor stay there again but the staff were nice & friendly and the hotel was very clean. read more

I was extremely impressed with this Hampton Inn. Having been in the hotel business for the past 10+ years, I'm always seeing what other hotels are doing and critiquing their service and quality. This hotel really didn't disappoint in any facet. Michael, the guy working the desk upon arrival was very friendly, recognized my Hilton Honors membership and gave me two comp drinks to their in-house restaurant and bar for being a member. This Hampton Inn features more than the typical Hampton with an amazing pool and recreation area, in-house bar and restaurant and just in general a lot bigger than the typical Hampton. The breakfast was put on in the restaurant space, and was jam packed. Michael one of the attendants in breakfast was hustling to make sure everything was stocked and cleaned up and the general vibe from the employees was competency and friendliness. Hampton really has a great breakfast experience in general. Checkout was a breeze with yet another Michael. He assisted us in splitting the bill and got us updated receipts. I really felt that the employees here must be well taken care of- and pass it on to the guests. I enjoyed my experience here, and honestly can say it's the best hotel experience I've had in the recent past. Stay at Hampton in Holland... it's a great hotel. read more
