Best service ever across my years as a Marriotts Rewards member. I fully appreciate the time and effort front desk reception representative Tacarra provided us during our 2 day stay. We arrived for Holland's Tulip Festival Friday evening. After riding lost through West Michigan farmlands for sometime, I phoned to request a later checkin - as we were already well behind schedule and now lost! I was relieved to hear "no problem - you may arrive late & we will have your room". Later Tacarra patiently took the time to provide us directions to Tulip Time Festival activities and even outlined local attractions on the paper map. This newer facility was clean with simple tasteful decor. Tried out the indoor pool one evening - small and 3 feet at shallow end to 4.5 feet at deep end and attached to an intimate sun deck (too cold for sun deck!) Looked forward to complimentary breakfast- basic but convenient fruit, bagel, milk, juice, coffee, cold cereal and egg beater scrambled eggs. Loved that they had SILK almond milk. Seating a bit too close for still-COVID uncertain time we're in. Mini Belgian waffles were cold & they ran out of syrup!! Location is superb near many food and retail outlets. As well as close to the Tulip Festival. Heavy traffic down main road. But perhaps because of event. Overall a good stay - with great service (from Tacarra) & few flaws.

This spot has been very special to our family. Last year (2017) I researched options for a family…read moretrip on the west cost of MI and found great reviews for the Beach House at Lake St. Pricing was more than we typically pay for hospitality but given then location we thought it was fair. Fast forward two trips later we're big fans. The property is well maintained, the staff are friendly, other guests have been welcoming and respectful, and there is so much to do. Holland State Park is great but this year (2018) Tunnel Park was the hit. We have 4 kiddos entertainment is important. I highly recommend a stay here.

First, the location is awesome. Across the street from a Lake Macatawa access (our balcony had a lake view) and down the street from the Holland State Park Lake Michigan Beach (perfect to watch the sun set). We also hiked Mt. Pisgah a couple of days (just down the street too). We stayed in the Newport (sleeps 8, 4 in beds, 4 in sofa beds). We loved the unit from the decor to the multi level layout and fully stocked kitchen. If someone in your party has trouble with stairs I might pick a unit that has an additional first floor kitchen/bar. There is a jet tub in the master bath and a private patio with a grill off the back of the first floor bedroom. There is also an outdoor grill with patio table seating right off the pool deck for entertaining. The salt water pool and hot tub (mostly the hot tub) was my fav, especially after climbing all those stairs at Mt Pisgah. 8 minutes to downtown Holland and 20 minutes to Saugatuck. Just down the street was a kayak and paddle board rental place. Additionally you get privileges at the Macatawa Golf Club which was very nice. It was worth every penny and we hope to go back again!

Since the hotel is right in the college area, they even sell local college gear in the lobby. For quick food options, there's a little snack station where you can buy drinks and snacks, plus a microwave available for guests to use. I also really appreciated the water station, which made it super easy to fill up my reusable water bottle throughout the day. Location-wise, it's about a mile walk to the lake but just a block away from downtown. Parking was incredibly easy and convenient, as they have multiple lots around the property where you can park for free. The room itself was nice and standard, equipped with a fridge and a small seating area. The bathroom was very nice and updated. On my first night, the motion sensor seemed to be acting up because the lights kept shutting off on me, but housekeeping must have noticed and fixed it the next day because it worked perfectly after that. My only real complaint about the room was the WiFi, which was pretty spotty and didn't really work well inside the room. Overall, it's a clean, convenient, and modern place to stay. I would definitely come back!

Take a step back in time and visit this amazing motel. Rob was amazing. He reached out to me to confirm my arrival time and checked in on me from time to time via text. The motel is quaint and peaceful. Located only a few minutes from downtown Douglas and Sagatauck, a perfect and relaxing, clean, pleasant place to stay. A few things to keep in mind, it is on eastern time zone, that's important if you're driving from the central time zone! Rob was gracious when I was running late to check in. A great place to relax and unwind after a busy day of play, shopping, or in my case working. Lounge by the amazing pool or gather with friends and family at the fire pit, or take a nap in the hammocks! If you're a golfer, it's only a few minutes from The Ravines, an Arnold Palmer designed golf course. I am looking forward to visiting again!

The worst part was the management- outwardly rude, arrogant, and abrasive towards guests. Very strange behavior from them, would not recommend. Hopefully new management will take over, bc with some good upkeep, and proper maintenance of the rooms, as well as just professional behavior from management they would do quite well. Would definitely not recommend- especially if you are traveling with children.
