A very nicely seasoned Black Bean Soup. A very fresh and delicious Navajo Taco.

The Reuben Heflin Restaurant inside the Hampton Inn in Kayenta, AZ is a fantastic local dining spot. The whole experience was excellent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the southwest and native inspired menu. The atmosphere was classic southwest. The food was wonderful.

Friendly people working the front desk and my room was clean (although no frills). Hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, oranges, waffles etc. Overall, this property met my expectation for a Hampton Inn.

Love the hotel! Very nice! The staff is great and room was clean and the gift shop was awesome! Everything in the room was new with the Navajo native design. Pictures and even curtains was nice! So don't mines staying here again when I'm in town visiting family! Thank you Hilton and keep up the great work

Nowhere did we learn this was their policy. Other places that do this let you know. We ate breakfast in the restaurant. It was just ok. And it's not included in your bill. They were knocking on the door at 8 a.m. to see if we were ready to leave so the could clean. I hope they vacuum the popcorn I noticed under the bed! The little refrigerator and the tv worked ok.

The hotel is divided into several compounds of building surrounding the main lobby building. Although the interior showing it's age but the hotel room is spacious and cleaned when we arrived, the beddings are tucked in perfect condition, and clean towels are ready for use. Wifi works great, no lagging or lost spots during the stay. No housekeeping checked and cleared the room in between our stay. Parking is convenient, outside of the building where the rooms are, must go through door with card scanners to ensure security. Overall we experience a convenience stay during time spent at the hotel. When we checked out, a very nice lady at the concierge helped us checking out in no time! She's very sweet and super friendly, we get into short chat and I totally forgot to ask her name, please pardon my misbehavior. All I can tell is she's stop aging at her 50s and doesn't look like her real age. This town is pretty cold with the gusty wind but definitely staying here will warmth your journey ahead in winter times. #kayentaarizona #kayentamonumentvalleyinn #winterroadtrip #preservefootprints

The location alone makes this place special. That said, the accommodations themselves were not very impressive. The rooms feel very outdated, and the floors are quite dainty. There's also no microwave in the room, which would have been convenient. On a positive note, the side wall insulation was surprisingly good--we couldn't hear a newborn, two young kids, or their parents next door at all but upper floors were paper thin we could hear people walking and slamming balcony door. One unexpected highlight of our stay was a white, fluffy dog that kept coming outside our balcony. I completely fell in love with my furry visitor. When I asked the receptionist, I was told the dog has an owner praying she was right and it was not a stray which was reassuring I think :( --but the night before checkout, it rained heavily, and I couldn't help but worry about my little friend. Thankfully, the next morning when I opened the curtains, the dog was there waiting, as if to say goodbye. That moment truly warmed my heart and wished I could take her home. I hope to see her soon. We also had the best view from our balcony to watch fireworks to welcome the New Year! Overall, we had a great experience because of the views, location, and peaceful atmosphere. However, if management were to reconsider remodeling and updating the rooms, this place could easily be 100% better and match the beauty of its surroundings. The girls in the office are so nice and pleasant! We would stay here again, maybe stay in a cabin next time.

I booked by calling the property directly. You will pay a $10/ vehicle charge to enter Tribal Land at the toll booth a quarter mile from the hotel parking lot. Make sure you keep this receipt if you plan on leaving the parking lot AND the one you'll get from the hotel front desk while checking in! We knew there were no laundry facilities on site, so plan accordingly. I brought over some soap bars from the hotel we stayed at before arriving to The View & washed what I needed to in the bathroom sink. Let my items hang dry at the balcony chairs less than 2 hours- dry as can be. The water pressure in the shower/ bath tub is amazing and there are shampoo, conditioner, & shower gel dispensers available. The scent reminds me of what greets you in the main lobby. I truly wish these toiletry items were sold in the gift shop, because they smell that good! In our room, there's a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker & personal safe for your belongings. Don't forget to claim your bottles of water at The View Restaurant! And redeem your gift certificate to shop at the Trading Post. Which offers a huge selection of Native jewelry, shirts, hats, and other goods. Although it says Complimentary Continental Breakfast available, on your check in papers- there are additional breakfast options besides sliced bread, bagels, & muffins. Assorted dry cereals whole milk & 2% milk. Crispy potatoes, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, pork sausage. Fruit cups, fresh apples, yogurt cups. A deli is available from 10am- 5pm, since The View Restaurant is closed for lunch. But, open for dinner (closes at 10 pm). Be mindful of the last seating time, I think is 9:30pm- since table service is provided. Staff has been friendly and helpful. There are no hot tubs & pools, for extra activities at the property. But, I think an exercise room is available. There are tour companies here at the hotel parking lot AND other tour outfits at the traffic circle - Navajo Welcome Center. We stopped at Basha's Dine' in Kayenta before checking into our hotel. That way we could have our snacks, bottled waters, and fresh fruit of choice before arriving.

Errr Ma Gerrr! I love this place!…read more I recently stayed here as part of a car rally and I was immediately enchanted by the whole property. Living in a major city, you get used to the Cement Jungle, but when you stay at the Hat Rock Inn, it's a whole other world. First, there's the San Juan River right outside our door. It took me about an hour to realize the river was RIGHT THERE! I kept hearing donkeys braying, and locating them is how I found the river. In the morning, there were a bunch of cows! Now if you know me and have read my reviews, I'm all about the hot tub. This property was booked ahead of time by the car rally, so I was thankful that they had a working whirlpool. They have a beautiful outdoor pool/hot tub. You can see out to the stars. My husband and I spent a lot of time pruning our skin and debating whether we were looking at the Big or Little Dipper. It was heavenly. The staff are very nice and told us a little bit about the Hogan (Navajo Mud Huts). There was also a situation where the sink and toilet plugged up. I'm guessing they run on pumps because after I called the Front Desk to report the overflow, about 15 minutes later the water drained itself and all was good. The rooms were very comfortable and there is a small fridge included. Parking is right in front of your door. This place is great for active people. I would not recommend it for people that don't walk too much. The ground is dirt and rock around the area and you have to step up a 2 ft cement walkway to get into your room. If you have a wheelchair, I would mention that in your reservation so you get the room closest to the ramp. I would recommend Hat Rock Inn and look forward to planning a trip around staying here in the future.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious enough, but service overall is a bit lacking. The front desk is not open until after 2 p.m., and the staff members are not particularly well informed, given that this is a town with almost no general service or supply options (e.g., the hotel itself offers no dining or coffee, and the person at the desk pointed us to a pizza restaurant that has been closed for months). The housekeeping staff left something to be desired as well. Service is upon request, but that means tracking someone down and ensuring a one-for-one trade of dirty and clean. Understandable, but when I ask for one clean washcloth and am instead handed two or three by a given staff member, I don't expect to be chided by another staff member standing with us in the supply room. What it lacked in hospitality and service, it did make up for in scenery.

In fact, of all the places we stayed at during our Arizona road trip, I'd say this hotel had the most comfortable bed. We only stayed for one night and since we had a lot of hiking planned, we needed to get up early. But I truly could've slept here for hours! If only... In addition to a comfortable bed, there was a mini fridge, TV with cable, free wifi, coffee and tea with a Keurig machine, toiletries, hair dryer, AC, etc. Our room was also on the bottom level, so we had sliding patio doors that walked out to the pool. The upper levels had balconies. The only bummer about staying here was that we thought there would be a continental breakfast, which is what Holiday Inn is known for. Unfortunately, there is no free breakfast. They do have a restaurant in the hotel, and it closes at 8pm. (We learned this the hard way.) Also, there were a ton of stray dogs around, which we didn't mind. But something to note if you don't like or are scared of dogs. They didn't bother the guests. We tried to feed them whatever food we had since they sadly looked hungry. Poor babies! Overall, this was a good stay.
