First time at the Hampton Inn in Kayenta. Rooms are in high demand given the scenic location near Monument Valley and the availability of lodging. With that being said, accommodations are priced accordingly. Location has restaurants and fast food nearby. Kayenta Flea Market is nearby if traveling through on a Wednesday. When you check into the Hotel they advise you to not keep valuables in your vehicle or on the top of the vehicle due to theft. That becomes an "oh shit moment" but a prudent warning nonetheless. They have 24/7 security guards but I did not see security cameras outside. Had a room with King-sized bed and all the usual amenities. I was there for 2 nights and pleasantly surprised the room was cleaned after the first day. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating near a large fireplace. Enjoyed the breakfast as I usually prefer to go elsewhere. Nice patio and I did not try the restaurant that serves dinner only. Service was excellent. Nice gift shop for tourists. Have stayed at other Hotels in the area and this one is the best. Book your stay well in advance and enjoy the scenery and culture of the area! read more

I had a good stay here. My only complaint was my room. I showered as soon As I got here, so either I was smelling things, or the headrest had a minimal wet dog smell. The room was well kept though. Ac worked fine. They don't carry body wash dispensers in the shower, only shampoo and conditioner. The wall lining in the shower was cracked in some spots. For being middle of no where, the quality was great and I'd definitely stay here again! The breakfast was nice! So much bacon!!! read more

We had an impromptu stop and found these accommodations at the last minute. We were very fortunate because the space can be booked due to the location being so near the monuments and other tourist attractions (4 Corners). The space is clean and comfortable. Checking in and out was easy. Morning breakfast was decent. Staff very friendly and accommodating. You see security very accessible and staff are constantly cleaning floors, counters, etc. Enjoyed walking through the gift shop too. read more

The room itself is a standard Hampton Inn room and nothing to write home about. The restaurant however, has authentic Navajo dishes. The chef appeared to be a young local. We arrived at Hampton Inn and found the lady at the front desk nice & welcoming. I was able to check in and choose my room in advance through the app, which was very convenient. I went to the front desk and was given physical keys and check in was done in a flash. Rooms were clean, there were plenty of towels, a mini fridge and Netflix was an option on the tv. The only drawback was that the beds are rock hard . I'm hoping they get some better mattresses in the near future. There was a continental breakfast everyday. It was fine. There's a restaurant in the hotel for dinner, it's the best restaurant in town. (I didn't try amigo cafe) I had the tri tip on Indian fry bread, the fry bread was lacking salt. We also tried the apple and fry bread dessert, skip it. It is not sweet at all, I had to add sugar because not even the ice cream was sweet. Overall, if I went to monument valley again, I would stay at this hotel. The staff could be a bit more friendly. The hotel guests were all friendly, so be prepared to give a cheerful hello when staying here. **Pro tip**reserve in ADVANCE because they have large tour groups that come in and book up all the rooms. One family came in without a reservation and the hotel was fully booked and had to be turned away. read more

**+BEWARE*** This hotel knows of extremely high theft and vehicle break ins on the property. They conveniently tell you AFTER you signed the contract, so no refunds. They also will not give you any adjustments unless your stuff is stolen in your hotel room! I called for a partial credit because there were 2 in incidents the night we stayed, between 1130pm and 6:30am. One was when we were checking in. The thieves backed into the space next to people that just checked in. They went to the back of their car and were looking at their things while the owners were near the car! The second one was at 5:30 am outside our rooms window. A truck had its door pried open and they stole his stereo. This is a very poor location based on this alone. The property is nice enough, but I will never choose to stay where I know it's a hot spot for theft. This should be mentioned on all booking sites. Or they should fence the property and parking lot to avoid much of it happening. read more

Here's why I'm giving this one star. After a long days drive, I arrived in Kayenta. One hotel down the street had a room for 130 a night. I checked at the Hampton Inn and they wanted 200 a night. I asked why they were so much more and they said it's because they offered a Continental Breakfast. I mean, what are you serving?? Caviar and champagne?? Good location and plenty of complimentary parking. The restaurant is packed at night so be prepared to wait or to eat in the 8:00 or 8:30pm timeframe. Many visitors are older so when I lined up for breakfast at 6:00am it was busy. After the initial rush not so bad. Coffee is constantly flowing and conveniently located in the lobby area. Breakfast included a make your own waffle station which turned out very crispy waffles. The rest of the hot breakfast was typical powdered eggs and sausage but the employees work hard to keep the breakfast area clean and fully stocked. What an overpriced hotel with lots of problems. It started with the front desk person telling us they were booked so we were stuck on the ground floor in a handicaped room. Since our key card didn't work we had to go back and the other person said they did have two more rooms. We were also informed the parking lot wasn't safe so they have a police trailer in the lot yelling at everyone all night. The hotel was under construction so we had to listen to them all day. Their "great restaurant" decided not to open so we had to leave for dinner. Why didn't the front desk know this? No microwave, no clock and no fitness center. $336 a night. What a ripoff. read more

TLDR: one of the newer hotels to stay at in Kayenta. Very clean and well kept. The restaurant in the hotel is great, friendly staff and the daily specials are a plus. I booked this hotel with a quoted rate of $140 but when I got there I was charged $286 for the room. Even today when I look at Hilton's website the room I booked is advertised as $154. I don't recommend booking it. You're probably not going to be charged that price. read more

The hotel and its staff are excellent. The rooms are a bit worn but we're clean. The beds were not that comfortable but not painful. Overall the hotel was a 4 but the restaurant rated a 1. Ordered a Caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza. The salad was average but eatable. However the pizza was two pieces of bread material with two pieces of pepperoni and a huge mass of cheddar cheese. We asked for mushrooms but they were nowhere to be found. The restaurant staff argued that no mushrooms were ordered but I watched the woman take my order and I know what was requested. They refused to redo the pizza or to refund that portion of the order. There are not a lot of options in Kayenta other than fast food but the local Taco Bell's food was exponentially better than the Hampton Inn offerings. DON'T ORDER THE PIZZA! read more

We stayed in many places during a two week road trip and this was the shining star. The room was spacious and comfortable. The pool was outdoors rather than enclosed so that was very pleasant. The food in the restaurant for dinner was amazing. I had the best Navajo taco with short ribs! Kayenta is the major town serving Monument Valley. There isn't a wide variety of choices, but there is a grocery store, a few gas stations, some fast food restaurants, a diner or two, and a few hotels. The Hampton Inn here is like most Hampton Inns across the United States, offering the same amenities, and it's my favorite place in Kayenta. I've been here about six times over the years because it makes a great base for exploring the entire region. I'm not the only one who thinks so, either. The hotel can get crowded during the summer travel season, so make your reservations early. read more

At the entry to way to Monument Valley National Park is the Hampton Inn. It is on the Navajo reservation tribal nation with their own laws and regulations. Be prepared it is a law that no alcohol is available anywhere on their lands and masks are mandatory. Some people are irritated over the mask mandate but so many Navajo families were touched by the pandemic--where almost every family on the reservation lost a son, daughter, mother, father, grandparents etc. they just keep the mandate in place as the US is still suffering from the effects of different viruses. So, don't be rude, be understanding. This is the cleanest Hampton I've been to. Housekeeping does a great job. The hotel is designed in somewhat Navajo style, with beautiful tile floors and fabrics, indoor and outdoor fireplaces and it is, after all, the gateways to one of the most beautiful landscapes in America. The Reuben Heflin Restaurant is not standard Hampton fare. It is an array of Navajo-style foods and flavors. While breakfast is free and standard, like at most Hampton Inns, the restaurant is very special with servers in native American garb, plus big smiles and great personalities. I got hooked on the gift shop selling native arts and local souvenirs. Somethings are a bit pricey, while many are not. I've been back to this area many times over the years and this hotel is a constant. As for the restaurant, it is only one of four sit down places in town and the very best of all of them. read more

One of the cutest Hampton Inns ever! I loved the decor! Staff was very friendly, too! I only stayed for one night. Masks were required which was nice. My room was sealed. I ended up cleaning a bit more once I was inside- common surfaces. The shower was tough to turn on- like a too tight jar. I finally got it to turn on with some force. With Covid, they do a breakfast to go bag. I appreciated it. However, the sandwich wasn't the greatest. I did eat the prepackaged food. I would stay here, again! read more

This Hampton Inn capitalizes on Navajo culture for its aesthetic, but has a sign in the parking lot that reads "help the community - do not give money to panhandlers". This is exploitative and insulting to the local community! Besides this, there are no microwaves in the rooms to encourage guests to dine in the lobby restaurant for 30$ a head. If you want, you can do as I did, and shamelessly heat up your canned soup in the single microwave right in front of the front desk while everyone in line watches. Slurp up, psychos! read more

Have to drive through Kayenta on the way to Colorado. I am a hilton honors member so I naturally chose this location, not that there are a ton of options around lol. Love the contactless check-in, can unlock all the doors with the app on your phone. The hotel itself was nice and clean, the lobby has classic Desert/Navajo decor and a fireplace going, super cozy. The gym and pool were still closed while we were there. The hot breakfast was really nice to have before setting out on the road again. Back in the day I could drive straight through to my destination, but as I get older I get sleepier, so I will return to this location on my next road trip. read more

Hotel is nice. Everything is newer and rooms are big and bathrooms are big. Little pricy but they have the ability to charge what they want as there is nothing else close in the area. Would be a 5 star review but - 1 star for the ridiculous breakfast attendant.Apparently she thought she was God or something. Asked for a water and an orange juice "No you can only pick one" HAHA Ok Lady $140 a night and cant have two drinks? I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and never been denied ANYTHING at the breakfast. I just laughed and walked away. So Hampton Inn my advice would be to have a little talk with her about giving customers what they want, and if for some reason you have a "one drink policy" in place for the breakfast id recommend changing that as all other hotels let you have whatever you want at the breakfast. read more

Checking in was quick, front desk person was friendly and attentive. She was also dressed in traditional Navajo clothing, which was a nice touch for the hotel. The restaurant serves a full menu for dinner. The waitresses also wore traditional Navajo clothing, again a nice touch. I wasn't too impressed with my lamb sandwich. The Navajo tortilla was delicious, but the lamb had melted cheese on it, which I had not ever had with lamb, and it wasn't listed as an ingredient on the menu, so it was a bit odd. The hotel lobby is very nice with a great little gift shop. The room was nice, firm bed, and it was clean. I would recommend staying here when traveling through the area. read more
