Residential shampoo and conditioner dispenser that can be super easily opened.

Our one-night stay at the San Juan Inn in Mexican Hat, Utah was absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, we felt like guest safety and basic cleanliness were clearly not a priority. At 9:14 p.m., I got an email saying our room key would be left on the ground directly under the doorknob. Yes--on the floor, outside the room. I saw multiple keys sitting outside other doors too. Anyone could have picked one up and walked into a room. This is not just lazy--it's a serious security risk. To make it worse, their own website claims they provide 24-hour service, saying: "We have a night phone located on the wall outside the front desk that rings directly to the night manager who will be available to support late arrivals." That's a lie. Instead of using this system, they chose to leave keys literally on the ground, like this was some kind of back-alley motel with zero standards. When we got into the room, we were immediately disgusted. There were flying bugs crawling all over everything--the bed, the bathroom, the floors, the windows. The bathroom window was absolutely swarming with insects, and because it doesn't seal properly, bugs were getting in all night. I woke up to a sink full of bug bodies. As if that weren't bad enough, the shampoo and conditioner were in cheap, home-style dispensers--the kind you can easily open and tamper with. Completely unsanitary and a huge health concern. There was also no information anywhere about front desk hours, restaurant details, or even how to connect to Wi-Fi. It felt like the bare minimum had been done to legally rent the room out, and that's it. No effort, no care, and clearly no respect for guests. Now, to be fair, the view from the room was beautiful and the woman who checked us out in the morning was super sweet--one of the only bright spots. But when we returned later to visit the gift shop, we were shocked. An older woman working behind the front desk was openly insulting a disabled vendor she buys product from--right in front of us. It was wildly inappropriate and uncomfortable to witness. And speaking of uncomfortable, the Native man working in the restaurant made us feel extremely uneasy. His attitude was off-putting, and the overall vibe was unwelcoming. This place is clearly running on autopilot, cutting corners everywhere and allowing unprofessional, even inappropriate behavior to go unchecked. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me--and I'd seriously caution anyone considering it. The location may be scenic, but the operation behind it is a mess.

This place is so old school it's a real key on a well burnished brass fob. Over the years, I've done the drive over the river going to Monument Valley, and the Res. I've always see the Inn, and thought it would be cool to stay there. This trip I did. The check-in was fast and smooth. My party had two rooms. They were not in the main long building. They were both different. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The view over the river was spectacular. That's not a word I use likely. The chairs across the parking lot gave a wonderful view of the river in the morning. There is an on premises restaurant, but we didn't use it. I bring it up because it's pretty much got everything you might want.

There are very few choices for food in Mexican Hat (plus Monument Valley) but this one was a winner. We ordered the fry bread cheeseburger. The waiter said how big its big so we should just split it, so couldn't argue that (but once it arrived I was definitely thinking hmm, coulda eaten the whole thing lol) he was a quirky guy, but what's "normal" anyway?! Friendly service, and then, a woman who id presume to be the owner or manager, stopped by our table to check on things. I was raving about the fry bread, which she makes by hand of course, and revealed her secret ingredient (sprite!) Overall it's a precious place, wedged between the river and the red walls of the earth, and a highlight of my southwest trip.

I gave this Hotel 5 starts regarles of the other people with bad reviews. I stay 2 years ago in the Goulding resort and they ask too much for the rooms, last year I stay in the The view hotel and it was pricier and no restaurant it was close and all the guest there were going to the Goulding restaurant, that by the way the food is bad I don't even recommended eat over there. The restaurant over here is way much better, the rooms affordable definitely I will comeback. Just want to remind to the people passing by over here that this is Navajo nation, they have they own rules , police , government etc.

Super friendly staff (almost too friendly). Cozy rooms, could use a remodel eventually but the view makes up for that. Bed was super comfortable.

Between the Grand Canyon and Moab is a hotel/motel wasteland. We were leaving the Grand Canyon about 7pm and didn't have it in us to drive all the way to Moab (which turned out to be a good thing because ALL the hotels were booked). We were traveling with our dog which makes things MUCH more difficult in terms of finding a place to stay. We called the San Juan in, and they had a room AND they were pet friendly with a $15 fee. We got there around 10:45pm, the room was definitely sparse, but adequate. The bed was one of he most uncomfortable things I have ever encountered, but at least we weren't sleeping in the car. The room was very clean, and the cable worked. In the morning I was taking a shower in their TINY, dilapidated shower, when my husband flushed the toilet.... It literally scalded me so badly I had to jump out completely. The water didn't return to warm for a good two minutes. So be careful of that, I really have never seen that anywhere but in movies. I wouldn't call this place charming, cozy, or cute. It's a motel- but it provided everything we needed and it was clean. That's pretty much all you can ask for in the middle of nowhere.

Lovely view of the San Juan river from the inn.

This is our fourth visit to the San Juan Inn. We have previously had other rooms that are more updated. Sadly, this trip we got a room #2 on the first floor. That room was not very comfortable because the shower has black mold and is very small. The only ventilation is a window. The air conditioner is also extremely loud. We keep returning to the inn because the location is great, the restaurant is good and the staff are friendly.

Stayed here for two nights while on a road trip in July 2015, but had been here back in 2006 as well. The rooms are okay. Some of them have three beds which is nice, but they aren't very comfortable. The sink isn't in the bathroom which is kind of odd. Overall though, the rooms are fine and can't complain too much. The restaurant is meh. I remember really liking it back in 06 but this time not as much. We went here our first night, and I got the veggie taco. I thought it was kind of odd that it came out in less than five minutes, but it was good - filling! We then ate breakfast here the next day, and my brother's plate was a little dirty and his cereal six months expired. I enjoyed my food as did my parents and family friends. Fast forward a few hours and my stomach starts getting very upset. Then my brothers, then my moms (my dad has a stomach made of steel, I swear). My brother and I figured it must be the restaurant and wouldn't go back, however there's not many restaurants whatsoever around here. Luckily there's a little store (where you check in) where you can get food. We got dinner and microwaved it there, then breakfast the next day (yogurt, muffins, etc). Free tea! The hotel is on the river which is lovely. There are tables overlooking it and you can go down to it as well. The hotel is situated near many scenic areas.

Errr Ma Gerrr! I love this place!…read more I recently stayed here as part of a car rally and I was immediately enchanted by the whole property. Living in a major city, you get used to the Cement Jungle, but when you stay at the Hat Rock Inn, it's a whole other world. First, there's the San Juan River right outside our door. It took me about an hour to realize the river was RIGHT THERE! I kept hearing donkeys braying, and locating them is how I found the river. In the morning, there were a bunch of cows! Now if you know me and have read my reviews, I'm all about the hot tub. This property was booked ahead of time by the car rally, so I was thankful that they had a working whirlpool. They have a beautiful outdoor pool/hot tub. You can see out to the stars. My husband and I spent a lot of time pruning our skin and debating whether we were looking at the Big or Little Dipper. It was heavenly. The staff are very nice and told us a little bit about the Hogan (Navajo Mud Huts). There was also a situation where the sink and toilet plugged up. I'm guessing they run on pumps because after I called the Front Desk to report the overflow, about 15 minutes later the water drained itself and all was good. The rooms were very comfortable and there is a small fridge included. Parking is right in front of your door. This place is great for active people. I would not recommend it for people that don't walk too much. The ground is dirt and rock around the area and you have to step up a 2 ft cement walkway to get into your room. If you have a wheelchair, I would mention that in your reservation so you get the room closest to the ramp. I would recommend Hat Rock Inn and look forward to planning a trip around staying here in the future.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious enough, but service overall is a bit lacking. The front desk is not open until after 2 p.m., and the staff members are not particularly well informed, given that this is a town with almost no general service or supply options (e.g., the hotel itself offers no dining or coffee, and the person at the desk pointed us to a pizza restaurant that has been closed for months). The housekeeping staff left something to be desired as well. Service is upon request, but that means tracking someone down and ensuring a one-for-one trade of dirty and clean. Understandable, but when I ask for one clean washcloth and am instead handed two or three by a given staff member, I don't expect to be chided by another staff member standing with us in the supply room. What it lacked in hospitality and service, it did make up for in scenery.

I recommend better pillows though, we had like a million pillows on the bed but they were all small and thin. We had a toy roll under the drawers and it def needs a good vacuuming as it has other items under there too that we're not from us. It would be nice to have a little night light in the room as it's pitch black, we stayed with our toddler and had to keep a lamp on at night to see anything. Continental breakfast is decent, I'd like to have seen Apple juice since OJ is super sugary for kids. The WiFi is awesome! The TV channels are super basic so I'd recommend maybe install streaming Apps for guests. The staff is super nice and they all seem to like being there. Would def stay here again when visiting family again.

The breakfast room was full of light and plants, and there was also the option to eat on the patio. An added bonus is that the tap water in Bluff is delicious! We brought several gallons of water with us, and didn't even need to use it. Usually we don't bother with ice machines at hotels, but the ice was delicious and we enjoyed having plentiful ice water during the trip. Again, this place is all that - and more! Loved every minute and are already planning a return trip.

The place is and elevated motel in a quaint town of Blanding. You're greeted at arrival by a kindly and courtesy host. I love no door key to lose just a code to get into your room. The parking lot is nicely set up the lodge is surrounded by lovely plants and trees. We had a nice patio set outside which we used to have dinner. Our room was quite large w a big bed there's two night stands a desk area large tv on and dresser; another bed in an alcove is great for another person to have a bit of privacy w a night stand. The room had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker w a selections of coffee and teas. Bathroom was large and a great shower area w a nice shower head that had good hot water when needed. The amenities were awesome. The soap smelled great and had an amazing exfoliating seeds build in. The body lotion felt so luxurious on my skin. Towels and bed linens were perfect. If you read my posts about food you know I'm a water snob well when lodging in a sheet snob (my husband would say I'm like the princess and the pea). The sheets were soft and comfy. We had a restful nights sleep and awesome shower w great pressure. We then we welcomed to a breakfast all homemade even seemed the juices we fresher squeezed. I had the savory crusty bread w egg, tomato, kielbasa, ham and cheese inside it was so yummy. They had whole wheat cinnamon rolls that the frosting was great as well as the great flavor. The overnight chia was great loved the creaminess of the mixture but the fruit on top was fresh. The oj was as fresh and the coffee (I'm not a coffee drink but my mom said it was great). She gave us banana bread to take and it was dense and great. We ate breakfast in the back garden which was pretty and peaceful. They had patio tables, picnic tables but also had chaises and fire pits. I love that they had a bowl of chocolate to choose from rather than a chocolate on your pillow (which always seems weird and bring bugs. I would go here again and hope I get back to the area to do

When booking agents really goofed my reservations (wrong day, double booked), the front desk person…read more(I think her name was Chastity) was patient, kind, and helpful (and I heard that she was the person making those great breakfasts). The owner also kindly called to greet me. Rooms are very comfortable and tastefully furnished, a great back yard to sit and chat with other travelers, and up to date facilities. My bathroom window even moved position to keep out light from outside. Lovely place.
