It's Mexican Hat, after all! :) We rented a suite (#14) - no dishtowels or paper towels, dishes still in the dishwasher, vinegar and cleaning stuff out on the counter. Not a big deal, but you get the sense that someone forgot they were cleaning the unit. The food in the restaurant was good (we just had breakfast one morning), but the one staff person there seemed super unhappy to be there and service was slow. Maybe they were the only person working there. If you, like we do, enjoy having an adult beverage after a long drive and exploring: bring your own. Even though the website says they have a liquor license, they do not sell any alcohol. There's a 7-11 half a mile away that sells beer and "spiked" low-alc drinks.

The rooms are clean and good sized, and the bathroom included a full tub. We have a fridge in our room, and we appreciate that there are laundry facilities for guests as well. Really liked all of the outdoor spaces. There are lots of tables and chairs set up overlooking the river, and several balconies as well. Mexican Hat is really small - there are just two restaurants and one is here at the hotel. We ate dinner here and the food was pretty good and reasonably priced. I would stay here again if we end up in the area at another time.

I found this through the national Parks site, had to rank several choices and wait to hear back, so I didn't remember which one we chose or anything about it. After driving three hours through barren desert, Goulding's Lodge was like an oasis! The setting is absolutely stunning. It was other worldly and familiar at the same time, because the old westerns were filmed here! The staff was friendly and peppy. The cabin was clean, relatively new, and complete with a kitchen. The restaurant was quaint and vintage. The best part was the bonfire that the staff built for us! Sitting around stargazing was so memorable with our kids. We were all sad that it was a quick stop, but said we would love to come back to stay longer! If you're used to four or five star places, maybe you won't be impressed. But in context for the area it was pretty great! Also has laundry, on site grocery and gas. We went home and watched John Wayne in Stagecoach, and vowed we would go back!

When you check into the Hotel they advise you to not keep valuables in your vehicle or on the top of the vehicle due to theft. That becomes an "oh shit moment" but a prudent warning nonetheless. They have 24/7 security guards but I did not see security cameras outside. Had a room with King-sized bed and all the usual amenities. I was there for 2 nights and pleasantly surprised the room was cleaned after the first day. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating near a large fireplace. Enjoyed the breakfast as I usually prefer to go elsewhere. Nice patio and I did not try the restaurant that serves dinner only. Service was excellent. Nice gift shop for tourists. Have stayed at other Hotels in the area and this one is the best. Book your stay well in advance and enjoy the scenery and culture of the area!

The only reason we are given this four stars instead of five is because the restaurant inside the hotel proportion of the property is really bad. There is absolutely almost nothing around this place, so very important that you bring your own food for when you do stay here as you will be very unhappy with the restaurant on site. I booked by calling the property directly. You will pay a $10/ vehicle charge to enter Tribal Land at the toll booth a quarter mile from the hotel parking lot. Make sure you keep this receipt if you plan on leaving the parking lot AND the one you'll get from the hotel front desk while checking in! We knew there were no laundry facilities on site, so plan accordingly. I brought over some soap bars from the hotel we stayed at before arriving to The View & washed what I needed to in the bathroom sink. Let my items hang dry at the balcony chairs less than 2 hours- dry as can be. The water pressure in the shower/ bath tub is amazing and there are shampoo, conditioner, & shower gel dispensers available. The scent reminds me of what greets you in the main lobby. I truly wish these toiletry items were sold in the gift shop, because they smell that good! In our room, there's a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker & personal safe for your belongings. Don't forget to claim your bottles of water at The View Restaurant! And redeem your gift certificate to shop at the Trading Post. Which offers a huge selection of Native jewelry, shirts, hats, and other goods. Although it says Complimentary Continental Breakfast available, on your check in papers- there are additional breakfast options besides sliced bread, bagels, & muffins. Assorted dry cereals whole milk & 2% milk. Crispy potatoes, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, pork sausage. Fruit cups, fresh apples, yogurt cups. A deli is available from 10am- 5pm, since The View Restaurant is closed for lunch. But, open for dinner (closes at 10 pm). Be mindful of the last seating time, I think is 9:30pm- since table service is provided. Staff has been friendly and helpful. There are no hot tubs & pools, for extra activities at the property. But, I think an exercise room is available. There are tour companies here at the hotel parking lot AND other tour outfits at the traffic circle - Navajo Welcome Center. We stopped at Basha's Dine' in Kayenta before checking into our hotel. That way we could have our snacks, bottled waters, and fresh fruit of choice before arriving.

LOVED the option to get 3 queen sized beds, and loved the attached patio that provided gorgeous red rock views and immediate access to one of the fire pits. I enjoyed a dinner from the onsite restaurant on the patio and also enjoyed some relaxing time at the fire pit once it was lit. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am, and they start to turn off the fire pits just prior to that. Also loved the ability to stream on the television from my phone with Chromecast. We also purchased some snacks at the store. I'm already planning to visit here again, hopefully for a longer stay!

First of all, we are both total germaphobes (even before Covid) and this place was sparkling clean! We never walk barefoot on hotel floors, but we did here. Everything was tastefully decorated and welcoming. The layout of the room was excellent - plenty of space, and lots of light and greenery. We loved the fridge / microwave / sink in the main area, as we had brought most of our food for the weekend. There was plenty of room for all of our food and drinks. The shower was large and had three nozzles, plenty of hot water, and good water pressure. Towels were fluffy and clean. Again, every detail of this place was well thought out and comfortable. I think the floors might have even been heated, which felt great on our bare feet. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. And the breakfast - wow! With Covid we had a set time for our breakfast which was really nice. And the food was amazing! Homemade yogurt and granola, a warm egg dish, scone, fresh fruit, delicious coffee and teas...we were in heaven. The breakfast room was full of light and plants, and there was also the option to eat on the patio. An added bonus is that the tap water in Bluff is delicious! We brought several gallons of water with us, and didn't even need to use it. Usually we don't bother with ice machines at hotels, but the ice was delicious and we enjoyed having plentiful ice water during the trip. Again, this place is all that - and more! Loved every minute and are already planning a return trip.

The room had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker w a selections of coffee and teas. Bathroom was large and a great shower area w a nice shower head that had good hot water when needed. If you read my posts about food you know I'm a water snob well when lodging in a sheet snob (my husband would say I'm like the princess and the pea). The sheets were soft and comfy. We had a restful nights sleep and awesome shower w great pressure. We then we welcomed to a breakfast all homemade even seemed the juices we fresher squeezed. I had the savory crusty bread w egg, tomato, kielbasa, ham and cheese inside it was so yummy. They had whole wheat cinnamon rolls that the frosting was great as well as the great flavor. The overnight chia was great loved the creaminess of the mixture but the fruit on top was fresh. The oj was as fresh and the coffee (I'm not a coffee drink but my mom said it was great). She gave us banana bread to take and it was dense and great. We ate breakfast in the back garden which was pretty and peaceful. They had patio tables, picnic tables but also had chaises and fire pits. I love that they had a bowl of chocolate to choose from rather than a chocolate on your pillow (which always seems weird and bring bugs. I would go here again and hope I get back to the area to do
