Everyone was incredibly accommodating as we needed to extend our stay and handle a few last-minute requests. Every interaction was met with a smile, kindness, and a genuine willingness to help, which meant more to us than they probably realize. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent each morning. Stayed here on 7/21. When we got to the room, there were short dark hairs all over the pillows. Brown "things" that appeared to be dead bugs on the the bed. Tub plug didn't work so I couldn't take a hot bath I needed because my back was hurting. I was looking forward to the hot tub but a whole family of kids were in the pool room screaming and splashing while their fat parents were taking up all the space in hot tub. We wont be staying here of recommending it at all. Very disappointed as an Elite member. read more

Marriot Waterfront Place was "sold out" for this weekend. Pleased to state that Marriott has updated both lobby and rooms - This Marriott is Not Marriott Waterfront Place, and merits 5 stars. Two inexperienced ladies were checking in and were assigned floor level rooms, and both were delighted...Mores the pity.... My check in staff was new, and fortunately an experienced staffer assisted and complied with my wishes. Service merits 5 stars. Maintenance merits 5 stars. Overall room merits 5 stars. On site breakfast merits 3 stars. 'Tis a myth that breakfast is free. The costs is built into the room charge. I arrived at 7:00AM for breakfast, and the lady in charge was assembling her own breakfast and then disappeared.... Never saw her again. Breakfast selections are typical of this brand - uninspired. Something passes for eggs; Bacon is a mess. Travel tip - avoid these 2 items at all costs. Coffee is always good, and there were enough other items on the buffet to assemble a healthy breakfast - Breakfast merits a 3 star. Highly satisfied with this location. Staff was amazing! Sweet, respectful, helpful and in a really good mood when we arrived. Hotel was clean, smelt great , easy to find things. Our room was cold ( like I like it) however, our room air conditioner had missing knobs to adjust it. They were broke off. So for others with me, they were cold so I slept right by it so I was good. However, some people cant handle the cold like that especially after going swimming or relaxing in hot tub like we did. So just FYI to management, I would def get that fixed. Thats my only issue. Breakfast was delicious, had a variety of things. Scrambled eggs and folded omelet, sausage patties, egg and cheese muffins, variety of cereals, oatmeal, waffle maker, lots of toppings. Bagels( plain and blueberry, cinnamon raisin) packaged choc swirl pound cake, variety of milk and juice and coffee and yogurt. It was 6-9, so we went to eat at 730 and went back to sleep until 1030, checkout was at noon! Loved that. Also the new way they have the tv channel set up is cool. It goes off of your log in on streaming apps. Went to swim in pool and hot tub again for a few min, then went back to room to shower and pack and leave. read more

Deacon, Kayla and I went to Springhill Suites and Inn at Morgantown for our doctor's appointments. We had to stay at the hotel overnight and it was very nice. The room was a double room suite and was extremely nice. The beds were soft! The bathroom has great water pressure. The breakfast was Hot and had several choices! Indoor Pool and Hot Tub was very nice! It doesn't close until 11pm. I definitely would stay there again! read more

First off, I want to say kudos to the owners for remodeling the hotel instead of building a new one and abandoning this one to be come a lesser quality hotel. A downside is the hotel has been under construction/remodeling for a year now. I stayed here exactly one year ago to the week and it was being remodeled then. Maybe this place was much worse than I thought, and it needs extra attention?? GOOD: Rooms are large with a sitting area separated from the bed area by a wall with a kitchen, sink and microwave. Very spacious The remodeled rooms are nice, and the workmanship seems good The breakfast (when actually the staff shows up to prepare it), was decent, although the selection was very limited. BAD: It's still under construction after a year Fitness room was very small, only a few treadmills (one was out or order), an elliptical and a bike. No weights or room for cardio. The AC in the fitness center was not working either. The sink in my room did not have a drain cover and I dropped a cap for a tube of toothpaste down it. I asked the front desk to have maintenance come by on Monday and fish it out, they never came Housekeeping was supposed to clean room every other day, only came once during my day day stay The woman who was supposed to prepare breakfast did not show up on my second day there. The day manager tried to get some stuff out but it was not out in time before I had to leave. The clerk working overnight at the desk simply said "the girl did not show up" and was not interested in providing good customer service. For the breakfast, there was a waffle station but had a sign up saying it was available on weekends only Several handwritten signs around the breakfast area (not very professional in the presentation) Areas that had not remodeled were showing their age such as stained carpet, peeling wallpaper, etc. One co-worker has been in two rooms not in which the AC does not work. My local co-workers said this used to be one of the best and affordable hotels in Morgantown but it appears to no longer the case. I will be staying elsewhere next time I am in town for work. They are doing renovations right now. Portions of first floor were sectioned off. The receptionist was very nice. My room didn't have a hairdryer, and he got one for me. He was quick to answer all.of my questions. I liked my room for the most part. It was spacious. It includes a business area and sofa, fridge, and microwave. The stopper in the sink did not work. I had to lift it up to have water drain with my fingers. The hallways were pretty and updated. However the pool area was not. The pool needed work. The paint was chipping pretty bad. The jacuzzi jets did not work properly. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast either. Another person came in after me and they voiced how unhappy they were, too. There wasn't any muffins or danishes or even a granola bar to grab. I had a business meeting I needed to go to. They had milk, a waffle maker, and some apples. There were good things and bad things. The price was cheap. I'd probably stay there again but after they finish the renovations. read more

My first option for a hotel is always a Marriott brand hotel. Over the years, I have found that Marriott hotels are consistently clean and offer good service. The SpringHill Suites in Morgantown, WV did not live up to that reputation. This hotel was filthy. The carpets on every floor were stained. These were not small incidental stains. These were large, obvious stains. It seems as though the staff allowed spills to dry and then walked away without ever trying to treat or clean them. The tub and shower curtain were pink and black with mildew. The shower curtain was too long, so it dragged the bottom of the tub, never drying properly. The lack of cleanliness was bad enough that I never felt comfortable in the hotel. In addition, the ice machine on the third floor did not work. So we had to go down to the second floor for ice. There were numerous areas where the wall paper was peeling off the wall. There was water damage in the weight room. And someone put wooden, residential-style, quarter round mounding along the "baseboard" in the elevator. This place was nothing like a Marriott hotel. It was more like a Motel 3 and 1/2. I will say that the two front desk workers with whom I interacted were professional and very nice. read more

UPDATE: Brandon, the General manager is harassing me via email because I complained to customer service 2 WEEKS AGO. Regen went above and beyond to make sure my brother and I knew we were not welcome there. I booked a room for my younger brother ahead of time and put his name on the reservation for check-in. At arrival, Regen demanded that he put an additional card on file. She told us that the hotel would not charge the card that the room was booked with unless I filled out a credit card authorization form because I was not present at check-in. I asked her how could we do that and she said she would email it to me and I'd have to print it, fill it out and scan it back to her. Being that it was 10 o'clock at night, my brother was exhausted from his road trip, there was no way I was going to get this form filled out & she had already charge my brother's card--we said forget it & did not fill out the authorization form. The next morning when he checked out, my card--the one that was originally on file-was also charged for the room. I called the hotel and spoke with Wade, who was uninterested and told me he couldn't help me. He said he'd have a manager call me, come to find out there wasn't even a manager on staff. I reached out to customer service who, in-turn, redirected my complaint right back to the hotel which led to Regen sending me a series of snarky emails insisting that she would not confirm any details over email-- that I had to call her if I wanted her help. I called and listened to her ramble and lie about why she did all of this, instead of apologizing and correcting the issue. Additionally, I was charged $170 twice for one night in the same room when I pre-paid $138.88 through the website prior to check in read more

Very pleasant surprise to find this great hotel in the Sabraton area of Morgantown. Very friendly staff, accommodating any needs we had and serving a great breakfast - even fresh waffles! The extra space and couch in the suite area are perfect to have. Beds were very comfortable, linens soft and towels good sized. Small fridge and micro as well as wet bar in the room. Quiet, pleasant. Worst Hotel EVER! I work 100% travel so I've stayed in hotels all across the US. I was in Morgantown at the same time as the UWV graduation so this was the only hotel that wasn't sold out. I travel with a service animal and notification is sent to the hotel in advance through my travel agent so there isn't an issue. I travel with any documentation that could be requested (license, training recorded, vaccination records and DOT documents to travel) none of which I legally have to provide. My stay started with the air conditioning not working, which wasn't a big deal, I just changed rooms. It was evident pretty quickly that the hotel was filthy and run down. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day. They only came once at 6:00 pm. The housekeeping supervisor then verbally berated me in the hallway for having a "pet" in my room and told me only seeing eye dogs were allowed. I took all of my documentation back to the desk. Apparently when I changed rooms the notes regarding my service animal didn't transfer over to the new room. Afterwards no one in the hotel apologized for her discriminating actions. I hope at a minimum the housekeeping staff are re-educated on the definition of a service animal so they can focus on their job- cleaning the hotel. Lastly, the hotel is surrounded by fast food restaurants, a gas station, and on a public transit route, which stops right beside the hotel. Definitely not the safest location. Very tired, rundown facility in dire need of upgrades in all phases. Carpeting in hallways all worn out and stained, same with in room, sticky substances (pancake syrup?) on floor. Desk and other items of furniture banged up, broken, or otherwise showing heavy signs of wear. Dirty glasses left in sink for me. Bathroom had toilet that ran nonstop, was able to determine flapper was disconnected and once re-connected and worked; but then bowl was also clogged from previous occupant. Seemed like room service never really cleaned; when I checked in I was given a choice of room service daily or only when I check out, I chose daily yet they never came once all week. Bed was ok, shower head was great and seemed to be the only positive of the room. read more

We specifically picked this hotel because of the indoor pool, which is a must for our children any time we go out of town. The breakfast was fine, and the rooms were clean. We did not stay at the hotel during the day so I cannot tell how loud it was during the day, but at night time, it was fine and not super loud from the AC or people walking about which is much appreciated. In light of Covid-19 we picked it because of the remote location in WV. We arrived just after mid-night and the clerk helped us get into our room right away. It was clean, but it was missing a few things in the room, like the plastic bags, it only had half a roll of toilet paper. The next morning we were served a bagged breakfast and there were some pretty questionable people hanging around the hotel. Doesn't look like it was the best of areas. We chose this hotel among a list or a dozen or so that were given to us to stay while we were in Morgantown for an event. Why did I choose this one? HOT TUB. Very important for my family. Not the most updated property- some of the furniture seems dated and tired. Carpets and walls could use a freshening. The location was perfect for us . Minutes to everything - downtown Morgantown , Mylan Park and more. The breakfast buffet was standard fare; all very good and the staff was lovely. Front desk staff was also very accommodating. The property is shared by an indoor climbing gym, a Kroger and more. The pool and hot tub were great. There is even grill outside and a patio with lung chairs for guest use. There is also an indoor gym with treadmills. This is a rare find as most hotels have done away with them . Not the fanciest or prettiest hotel- for the price and location, our family would stay here again. read more

HORRIBLE. We got here late (1:30 am) after driving to be told they had our room but it was the last available and had a "slow" flushing toilet. My husband said that's fine as long as it works. WRONG, it was a no flushing toilet. The water would eventually drain down but the remaining items stayed including the TP. There was dirt and crap around the room and was poorly cleaned. Obviously someone was here prior and complained about the toilet so they moved them and gave us their I cleaned room. I am livid. They have no other rooms available and surrounding hotels are booked. With 3 young kids we're stuck sleeping in filth. This clearly screams poor customer service, poor management and poor health standards. read more

I definitely will be back again if I am in the area- was not planning on staying in a hotel but apparently God had other plans- The staff was amazing and helpful- the rooms were clean and comfortable- it is centrally located. I didn't rent a car so I was able to walk to many fast food places- grocery store (Kroger's) the Dollar Tree- and Dollar General were close. There is a hiking trail behind the hotel and I would have liked to take advantage of that- but weather didn't really permit. Maybe next time. There is also an exercise room in the facility-very nice. Also an inside pool and spa!!! Next time i'll bring my suit! I really appreciate the staff- especially Toni- and especially Sarah- helped me with any issues and made me feel at home- when I come back I will only stay here. Barebones hotel, but passable for all things considered. The location is convenient if you're trying to get onto the highway, but not much else around in this area. Closest food is like Arby's and KFC that are across the parking lot. Gas stations, drugstores, and grocery stores all very close by. I was not a fan of the wifi. The system logs you out constantly, so you have to be patient if you're using it for an extended period of time. Also, they have like 8 different access points so you have to connect to different ones if you're moving around the hotel. read more

Pretty similar to other Sprinfields, especially no full size refrigerator, but again, our request for top floor and away from the elevator was accommodated. The bathroom, or should I say the room with the toilet and shower, has some wasted space and when getting into the shower I hit my heel on the toilet. The shower curtain is Almost too short. If you're not careful, the floor will get soaked. On the plus side, for ONCE, we can plug our computer into the TV, probably because there is no internet on the TV. It sure would be nice if things were standardized across the brand. Road noise is easily heard, as well as other guests. read more

Platinum elite traveler - that's 75+ nights per year - NEVER have I seen such a tired Marriott property. I am crossing SpringHill flag off of my options permanently. Only Plus: Friendly staff. "Uninspiring" breakfast of WET hotel powder eggs with vegi sausage. Meats were on a WARM plastic plate. HORRIBLY WORN OUT room. Sofa seams shredded and stained - looked like it came out of a bad Motel 6. Room Carpet was tired and looked permanently dingy - kept my shoes on full time. The hotels common areas are well kept and nice and clean. The room we stayed in was not as nice. The ac/heat had broken knobs, the water out of the shower was barely warm. When we departed in the morning the breakfast was horrible. The turkey sausage logs were room temperature and spongy, and the eggs were out late. The staff was always friendly and very helpful, and the room was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by the waste-saving and energy-saving measures of the hotel, such as having an opt-in system for shower products, and leaving appliances unplugged unless the guest chose to use them. The breakfast was delicious and served in a COVID-conscious manner. My only complaints were the pretty crappy coffee that they were serving at all times (it was worse than the coffee from the next door Burger King, which is disappointing for a hotel), and the fact that our room wasn't well-vacuumed and there were bits of food on the carpet when we first entered the room. read more

Employees make or break a business. At this location the employees are breaking it. I'm a Marriott gold elite member, which means I stay at a lot of hotels during the year primarily Marriott properties. Like most properties this one is well-kept, clean and quiet however the employees here are really terrible. When I arrived late one evening there was no hello, there was no "welcome to our hotel", rather I was greeted with 'last name please'. When I got to my room, the heater wasn't working. No big deal, I went to the reception desk and told them the situation. There was no "I'm sorry", there was no "would you like another room?" The front desk person stared at me like a fish. I had to ask for another room, which resulted in her making a face like I was inconveniencing her. This seems to be the general attitude of all the employees here. They act as if they're doing you a favor every time you need something I know, my comments may seem picky but I think there's certain level of human decency that goes along with being part of a hospitality staff. read more

This is a pretty good Spring Hill Suites. In the middle of nowhere but if you are visiting Morgantown or just driving through I can't think of a better place to stay. It was super, super clean and looked like it was just built. Breakfast was ok. But everything for the price gives this place 4 stars. Fantastic location in the middle of a bustling city. NO. We stayed here about a month ago when we came to West Virginia for my cousins wedding. This hotel lived up to every single expectation I had. The room was incredible. Extremely clean and very large. The beds were so, so comfy! I loved the Paul Mitchell products as well! The ladies at the front desk were always polite and accommodating. The pool was a little chilly, but nice! The breakfast had tons of options and was delicious! Let's not forget the fresh baked cookies in the lobby every afternoon! Oh my goodness yum! This hotel was around everything we could've possibly needed to get to. Super affordable and I will definitely be staying here again! read more

Nice clean motel. Far enough from the freeway that you could not hear the traffic but near enough to get on the freeway quickly. Had a floor of college hockey players but did not hear them in our room. The surrounding neighbor looked safe. Front desk staff helpful and friendly and met all my needs. Breakfast was good. The wifi had acceptable but not great speed. About every 12 hours it stopped working. Had to close my wifi access and login again. Got to see the ads again. read more

Spent one night there on February 14th and we were not impressed. Our bathroom still has hangers hanging in it from previous people, the sofa bed was nasty when we opened it, the toilet seat broke and there was no one available to fix it, we just had to deal with it and we were given bad info about the pool. We picked this hotel because of the inside pool and hot tub. We were told the door was messed up so they would have to let us in. So when we were ready to swim, a new person told us it was closed. We have to stay in Morgantown every couple of months due to my daughters surgeries and doctor visits, but we won't stay here again. The breakfast was great though. read more

Stayed here while in town for a Mountaineers footbal game. The lobby, hallway and room where exceptionally clean. The staff was helpful and accomodating(our fridge didn't have a freezer and we had a small bag full of perishable which they held for us until the next day). The breakfast area was also clean and fully stocked. I will definitely come back and stay at this location. Kudos to the following staff members for there hospitality and making us feel at home. Nice and clean. Common areas quite nice. The lady who managed the breakfast was especially friendly and dedicated to ensuring a pleasant experience for guests. This was in sharp contrast the morning front desk attendant was not helpful nor terribly interested in resolving my billing question. I was also disappointed with the room. It was incredibly small especially given that it was supposedly a suite. The room was so small we could barely navigate and the bathroom cramped. The suite fridge was dorm size and didn't have adjustable cold settings so was also not particularly cold. I will explore other options when next in the area. read more

Five star for $95. I am not typically a hotel/motel fan, so I can be quite picky when walking in the door, but this place was great. The reception was friendly and welcoming. There was lemonade and cookies available at reception when you walk in. The breakfast/cleaning staff all friendly and relaxed yet professional. When we got in the room it was a large suite style with couch and desk, lots of room. The room was fresh and clean. The bathrooms were spotless. We did not see one stain on the carpet or wall..... I notice these things. The bedding was surprisingly nice as well, the sheets felt and smelled like they had been freshly laundered WITH fabric softener. That is not something I'm used to in these mid-priced hotels. The continental breakfast was convenient as well. There was a good selection of breakfast foods. This hotel is close enough to campus, yet not too close if you want to stay away from the crowds. It would be nice for those visiting WVU or Coopers Rock. Very clean, very nice, convenient, and at a very reasonable price. I would pick this hotel when traveling through the area again. read more
