    Carpet Stains
    Jomo M.

My first option for a hotel is always a Marriott brand hotel. Over the years, I have found that Marriott hotels are consistently clean and offer good service. The SpringHill Suites in Morgantown, WV did not live up to that reputation. This hotel was filthy. The carpets on every floor were stained. These were not small incidental stains. These were large, obvious stains. It seems as though the staff allowed spills to dry and then walked away without ever trying to treat or clean them. The tub and shower curtain were pink and black with mildew. The shower curtain was too long, so it dragged the bottom of the tub, never drying properly. The lack of cleanliness was bad enough that I never felt comfortable in the hotel. In addition, the ice machine on the third floor did not work. So we had to go down to the second floor for ice. There were numerous areas where the wall paper was peeling off the wall. There was water damage in the weight room. And someone put wooden, residential-style, quarter round mounding along the "baseboard" in the elevator. This place was nothing like a Marriott hotel. It was more like a Motel 3 and 1/2. I will say that the two front desk workers with whom I interacted were professional and very nice.

Brandon Baker harassing guests of the Marriott

UPDATE: Brandon, the General manager is harassing me via email because I complained to customer service 2 WEEKS AGO. Regen went above and beyond to make sure my brother and I knew we were not welcome there. I booked a room for my younger brother ahead of time and put his name on the reservation for check-in. At arrival, Regen demanded that he put an additional card on file. She told us that the hotel would not charge the card that the room was booked with unless I filled out a credit card authorization form because I was not present at check-in. I asked her how could we do that and she said she would email it to me and I'd have to print it, fill it out and scan it back to her. Being that it was 10 o'clock at night, my brother was exhausted from his road trip, there was no way I was going to get this form filled out & she had already charge my brother's card--we said forget it & did not fill out the authorization form. The next morning when he checked out, my card--the one that was originally on file-was also charged for the room. I called the hotel and spoke with Wade, who was uninterested and told me he couldn't help me. He said he'd have a manager call me, come to find out there wasn't even a manager on staff. I reached out to customer service who, in-turn, redirected my complaint right back to the hotel which led to Regen sending me a series of snarky emails insisting that she would not confirm any details over email-- that I had to call her if I wanted her help. I called and listened to her ramble and lie about why she did all of this, instead of apologizing and correcting the issue. Additionally, I was charged $170 twice for one night in the same room when I pre-paid $138.88 through the website prior to check in

Worst Hotel EVER! I work 100% travel so I've stayed in hotels all across the US. I was in Morgantown at the same time as the UWV graduation so this was the only hotel that wasn't sold out. I travel with a service animal and notification is sent to the hotel in advance through my travel agent so there isn't an issue. I travel with any documentation that could be requested (license, training recorded, vaccination records and DOT documents to travel) none of which I legally have to provide. My stay started with the air conditioning not working, which wasn't a big deal, I just changed rooms. It was evident pretty quickly that the hotel was filthy and run down. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day. They only came once at 6:00 pm. The housekeeping supervisor then verbally berated me in the hallway for having a "pet" in my room and told me only seeing eye dogs were allowed. I took all of my documentation back to the desk. Apparently when I changed rooms the notes regarding my service animal didn't transfer over to the new room. Afterwards no one in the hotel apologized for her discriminating actions. I hope at a minimum the housekeeping staff are re-educated on the definition of a service animal so they can focus on their job- cleaning the hotel. Lastly, the hotel is surrounded by fast food restaurants, a gas station, and on a public transit route, which stops right beside the hotel. Definitely not the safest location. I wish I could post more pictures but I'm only allowed 10.

    Dirt and trash by fridge...

HORRIBLE. We got here late (1:30 am) after driving to be told they had our room but it was the last available and had a "slow" flushing toilet. My husband said that's fine as long as it works. WRONG, it was a no flushing toilet. The water would eventually drain down but the remaining items stayed including the TP. There was dirt and crap around the room and was poorly cleaned. Obviously someone was here prior and complained about the toilet so they moved them and gave us their I cleaned room. I am livid. They have no other rooms available and surrounding hotels are booked. With 3 young kids we're stuck sleeping in filth. This clearly screams poor customer service, poor management and poor health standards.

I definitely will be back again if I am in the area- was not planning on staying in a hotel but apparently God had other plans- The staff was amazing and helpful- the rooms were clean and comfortable- it is centrally located. I didn't rent a car so I was able to walk to many fast food places- grocery store (Kroger's) the Dollar Tree- and Dollar General were close. There is a hiking trail behind the hotel and I would have liked to take advantage of that- but weather didn't really permit. Maybe next time. There is also an exercise room in the facility-very nice. Also an inside pool and spa!!! Next time i'll bring my suit! I really appreciate the staff- especially Toni- and especially Sarah- helped me with any issues and made me feel at home- when I come back I will only stay here. Very grateful- and the room was well worth the price- and breakfast is included!!!

We asked how much extra it was for late check out (3pm). They told us they wouldn't be charging us because it wasn't much of a difference from the original check out time. This morning they began calling the room requesting a $60 charge. I came to the front desk and paid it I figured maybe they made a mistake and they did need to charge the extra time in the room (till 3pm). At 2:45pm the cleaning lady came to the room to clean. I told her we had paid for the extra time to stay the front desk was aware. She said no that 60$ is in case of damage you will get it back. Now I'm confused because the $50 deposit I left originally was supposed to be for this. I asked her to give me a few minutes to finish packing my things. She left and came back with a front desk agent and manager threatening me to leave the room. This was such an uncomfortable situation for me. I suffer from severe anxiety and felt so attacked. Matt at the front desk was so rude to me and as soon as I mentioned I was leaving a review he changed his attitude. These people were nice to me the whole time I was there (because I look white I assume) but as soon as my friend (Latina) spoke up they changed their attitude (fucking racist!!!!!!) all of this for not giving me 15min till 3pm which they charged for. We paid for two days stay and only stayed one day and a half because we arrived late (we are driving from far). This is not our first stay here (two weeks again October 13) We have been in communication with them from the beginning and everything seemed fine until this afternoon. I'm so disappointed. I walked out with an anxiety attack almost crying. That was the experience I had.

We found it very nice and clean. The small part of the hotel that we saw looked nice. I did online check in and check out. The bed was comfy. There was a lot of road noise, so maybe bring a sound machine. The parking garage was the worst part. My friend and I drive an expedition and a suburban, and it was very tight going around all the turns. I had to back up quite a few times to be able to make it around the corners. The parking garage was in disrepair, and there was no elevator or stairs, so we had to walk down and up the ramps. I had prepaid parking and it didn't let me use the app to raise the gate. Thankfully, there was a man behind us with a room key so he swiped it to raise the gate. Otherwise, we would've had to leave our vehicles sit there and walk around, into the main door of the hotel for help. The entrance and exit ramps are also the same and they are for one car only. So. Hotel was great, parking garage sucked. We never saw the parking lot.

Lakeview Resort is in the Allegheny Plateau of the Appalachian Mountains. The elevation varies from 1,000' to 2500.' South of the Allegheny Plateau is the Allegheny Highlands, which varies from 2,000' to 4800.' Lakeview Resort is a timeshare community that is incorporated into a dynamic housing market overlooking Cheat Lake. While Lakeview Resort is near Morgantown, West Virginia, it is also near Pennsylvania and Maryland. Lakeview Resort provides a home base to explore southern Pennsylvania, western Maryland, and northern West Virginia. We have been trading into Lakeview Resort for nearly twenty years. The Interval International website photos are very accurate concerning the townhouse arrangement of Lakeview Resort. This property has long been sold out, although there are units listed on various resale markets. Be careful not to confuse the Lakeview Resort timeshares with the Lakeview Resort hotel. The hotel seems to have less favorable reviews than Lakeview Resort timeshare. Recall that Interval International does not list Lakeview Resort as a "premium resort" or "select resort." We find the Homeowners Association has maintained the property, and do expect an updated unit for your visit. The kitchen is a full working kitchen, and the combined living room dining area features a neat fireplace, which may be used during the summer evenings. The bedrooms and bathrooms have been updated, and always remain clean. Lakeview Resort provides ample parking for visitors and for guests. On-site amenities include a golf course, swimming pool, and access to the clubhouse amenities. We find that Lakeview Resort is a great four-season resort. Lakeview Resort may be used as a home base for Seven Springs skiing in Pennsylvania, Wisp skiing in Maryland, Canaan Valley, Timberline, or Snowshoe skiing in West Virginia. It juts out over a waterfall on Bear Run, appearing as naturally formed as the rocks, trees, and rhododendrons, which embrace it. Fort Necessity National Battlefield is near Ohio Pyle, Pennsylvania, and also near Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The battle at Fort Necessity in the summer of 1754 was the opening action of the French and Indian War. This war was a clash of British, French, and American Indian cultures. It ended with the removal of French power from North America. The stage was set for the American Revolution. The important history is that a young Virginia officer, George Washington was in command during the battle of Fort Necessity. Although this was Washington's first defeat, the battle would provide the young Colonel invaluable military strategy that would affect Washington's decision-making during the Revolutionary War. It is recommended that the tourist research the Battle of Fort Necessity to appreciate the historical event and the events that followed.
