I would stay here again, but going to give an honest review. I stayed here 3 days/2nights for a trip to NJ. What I didn't like is the ice cold shower on Monday morning. Evidently the hot water had to be reset. Additionally, I didn't like coming back to no housekeeping. It is every other day at this location. Most places inform you off it or you can request daily if you are a higher loyalty tier. When I asked about it, the staff told me it was in the website in a very defensive and dismissive tone and conversation. I didn't see it there and it didn't solve the situation. Really liked the room, but the microwave in room 418 was not good and did not cook to throughly, and i had a terrible time with it. I had pitched a frozen dinner downstairs and it was not a good experience. Hotel was nice and clean. The room was spacious. The breakfast was good and was the traditional Hampton Inn breakfast with all the options. I did get to enjoy the pool too which was nice. Staff was great aside from the housekeeping conversation. Going with a 3 based on THIS overall experience but could easily see it as a 4 or 5 star stay if I should ever stay again. read more

I've stayed at better locations. I called while I was on my way to a wedding (once to see if I was eligible for early check in) the second time I called was for more information about when the wedding shuttle would leave. The woman on the phone was very short with me. Definitely not very warm. I called around 2pm. The walls are VERY thin. The family next to us they were shouting in their room, you could hear the children. It was incredibly noisy and I woke up at 7am. The noise did not stop. When we checked in, we had two facial bars (not a body bar) and had shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We weren't given make up remover towelettes or tissues in the bathroom that were clean. Three were inside the box and one had make up stains. We also didn't receive a shower cap (and I actually needed this because of my hair for the wedding). The water pressure is better here than most of the Hampton hotels and this was very much so appreciated. It felt like our room was quickly serviced. We didn't have a garbage in the bathroom. Only a bin near the desk. Most importantly, the bed was very hard and you could feel the springs. One of the most uncomfortable beds - I stay with this hotel chain often. We normally stay here a day or two each summer, but of course this summer things were a little different. For starters- this Hampton has had it's share of good days! The wear and tear is visibly noticeable, and quite disappointing for what they charge per night! One small perk- Hilton Honors members will get two free bottles of hot water for whatever that's worth! Here's my experience with staying at this Hampton during Covid-19: The two front desk workers were both friendly & had on masks and gloves. They DID NOT screen us at all. The didn't take our temperature or ask if we had any symptoms of the corona virus. The check in process was less than 5 minutes which was sweet. The machine for payment was covered in plastic wrap which made no sense to me but that's another story. Also, there's plexiglass around the front desk & the floor is marked to enforce social distancing . Only 2 people are allowed to ride the elevator at a time, and there's a station to sanitize your hands before you get on. The rooms are sanitized and sealed to let you know that no one has been in them which was reassuring. I found the room to be old and sort of worn, but spotless nonetheless. They've gotten rid of the throw pillows and all pamphlets and stationery has been removed as well. We only stayed one night which was more than enough for me. There's not even a USB port in the rooms which lets you know how dated this place is. I'm not sure how they handle continental breakfast because we opted to skip that. The hotel was not crowded at all. I honestly didn't see one person on our floor during our stay. Plus the parking lot was only half full which let's me know the hotel was not booked up. Masks wearing was NOT strictly enforced as I saw a man in the lobby without a mask and nobody said a word to him! Lastly- make sure to keep the chain lock on your door! I had a nice stay with no real issues other than my girlfriend saying the bed wasn't comfortable, but I didn't have any problems with it. Checkin online was simple and even got my digital key on my phone so just walked in and went right to our room. Checkout was just leaving and getting my receipt via email. So simple and convenient. Due to the Covid restrictions, breakfast was severely limited so we opted fir for a diner in town. My room, 323, was spacious, clean and quiet. Overall. Please be careful when booking this hotel through Hilton. The cancellation dates are in the past in the fine print. I made this mistake and needed to cancel a work trip. I called ahead but, because the cancellation date was after I actually booked the trip, they charged me full price. I needed to go to a funeral in the area. I live in upstate NY and not familiar with what was available. Searched online and several hotels popped up. One was this Hampton Inn and the site gave me a number to call. The posted cost was $209 per standard room. When I spoke to reservations they gave me a price almost double that. I argued that it was not what was posted but they said it included taxes and fees. I asked if I could use my AARP discount but insisted it was the lowest rate available. I wanted to check with family members but they pressured me to nail it down because it was last rooms available. So, I prepaid out of panic to not have a place for this funeral trip and justified that it was New Jersey and prices were more expensive. When we arrived, I found it was not full at all. Other family arriving for funeral paid much less. I spoke with manager there who was very nice and helpful and he said I paid through a third party and that was the extra cost. Never was I aware it was a third party. No one introduced themselves as such . I just pressed the number on the Hampton Inn site. Anyway, they told me to contact Support services and they finally gave me a 20% refund....still way more than was advertised but relieved to get something. I am so disappointed in Hampton Inns/Hilton. I have been an Honors member for years and this was a scam. Hampton knows this bait and switch is online and should not allow this to happen. Our stay there was fine but it was not a renovated Hampton Inn so not as nice as most. The staff were very nice but really powerless to help me other than referring me to a customer service number. Why 3 stars? Because it was affordable but the restless nights were tough. --- --- --- We were in town for a wedding in Asbury Park and the Hampton Inn was a big money-saver for us. It wasn't a big deal to have to drive a few miles in and out of Asbury each day, so in that regard, I'm glad we chose to stay here. But it was something about the bed or the air flow in the room that just didn't work for me. I can't quite put my finger on it, because the bed seemed comfortable enough at first, but maybe it was just that the blankets were too thick/warm. I'm normally the type of person who falls asleep and goes into a deep coma for 8 hours, but here, I was waking up several times in the middle of the night, every night that we stayed here. While the room would feel cool as we got into bed, I'd wake up in the middle of the night very warm. I think it goes back to the heavy blankets - it was too hot with them on and too cold with them off. The last night, I figured out that using the thin sheet as a blanket was a much better option. The shower was okay at best. The floor was very slippery and the water pressure/radius was about average. There was a pool, but it was pretty small and only 3-4 feet deep. It was closer to a large hot tub than a pool. But the property was clean, modern and affordable. Breakfast was solid, with plenty of different options. I was sure to make my own waffle, which hit the spot perfectly. If I were to stay in the area again, I'd probably opt for something else just because sleep was not easy to come by, but it was better than paying much more for a place in Asbury Park. read more

Stayed here for a wedding and while everything in the room was clean and the cleaning people were very pleasant, the front desk staff were more than lacking. I've never had such a weird and awkward interaction when checking-in. The woman was rude/condescending but also sounded confusingly nice since she was very soft-spoken. We could barely hear her (when she did talk - it was mostly silence...) and she gave no directions or explanation. Honestly, she seemed really stupid and it wouldn't bother me as much if she wasn't so rude. We stood there in silence while she was looking for our reservation and it went on for so long...then she FINALLY said (condescendingly), "I'm waiting for you to put your card in." She had given no indication we should insert the card or that anything was ready, as a normal interaction would go. We then asked if we'd get a receipt (since we inserted the card), and she spoke to us like we were stupid af instead of just saying we'd be charged at the end of our stay. We also stated that we're part of the wedding room-block, but we were all placed on different floors. She acted like it was so much work (to do her job) and complained that she can't fit us near the bridal party (I was a part of it). She was also rude to the bride and put the bride and groom on the same floor?? Everyone in the bridal party said they had a similarly weird interaction with her. Idk, I don't think it's asking for much for a normal, human interaction. Check-in shouldn't be such an ordeal. We also overheard a different front desk person being rude to an employee, who thought their shift started 2 hrs earlier than it actually did and arrived earl. The place was so clean and well kept it was worth not staying at the beach for a lot more money and not as comfortable of a room. The beds were comfortable with nice bedding, they gave us a cot which was really a single bed that was as comfortable as our bed. Breakfast was very good, lots of choices. Good coffee! This place was very nice and clean and the staff is what gives it five plus stars especially Gwen. She was fantastic. She was very joyful and cheery and just an absolute pleasure. I also was very pleased with the breakfast because they had dairy free options which for me is hard to get at most breakfasts. All the staff we encountered were smiling and cheerful. I had to be in the area for a client, and being a Hilton Diamond member I always look for a Hilton brand property. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and new this felt, from the lobby to my room. The bathroom had a nice big shower (no tub, thank you) and my King bed was cozy. Stayed here for two nights for work. At check in they told me I had a different room than what I picked on my app, thinking maybe they know something I don't and my room was changed. I lugged all my stuff to the room to find that tHe keys didn't work and sounded like there was someone inside watching tv. Went all the way back down and showed the front desk my app with the correct room. They apologized and gave me the right key. I know mistakes happen but just irked that when I mentioned "are you sure that's the right room because I picked a different one" she looked at the computer and confirmed that "I was wrong". Anyway they rest of the stay was great. The room was bigger than normal and very clean. Breakfast was average for a Hampton in but it was definitely clean and fresh. The first night they had a pasta dish and bread out for free if you wanted a quick bite to eaT. Looked good but I didn't try it. In the mornings they had a breakfast to go bag in case you didn't have time to sit down which I used the second day. The gym was clean anDD empty at night. There also was a worker that came in to tidy up while I was there. Overall this was the best Hampton Inn I've stayed at and would hhave given 5 stars if it werent for the issue at check in. 7/24-stayed again for 4 nights for business. Place was clean and took precautions for the pandemic. Same professionalism and courteousness as before. Amenities were closed as expected. Definitely missed the coffee station. we book this hotel a week in advance. when we got there after traveling 1000 miles in the hot summer heat and stuck in the garden state parkway for 2 hrs , we finally arrived to find out that our reservation was cancel!! I first judge a hotel by it's cleanliness. This Hampton Inn received good marks for that. I felt comfortable in my room and the ambiance was on the more modern side for a Hampton Inn. I hate to judge a hotel by it's front desk staff, but holy slowness batman. Check in took a really long time. It was also pretty awkward. I was there for a wedding and they told us that they ran out of wedding bags. Then we were told that they had been giving out the hotel amenities to other guests in lieu of gift bags...then gave us nothing and said they can't front it out of pocket. I wasn't expecting them to do that, but how about omit that story to the guest going away empty handed? We had forgotten a few toiletries, and the sign in the bathroom said we could get them from the front desk. The lines were always long and our phones didn't work, so we made do without those items. We were there for a wedding, and Neptune isn't quite the destination spot otherwise, so I have no reason to go back. Breakfast is from 6-10 and checkout is at noon. I missed breakfast and rushed to get ready for an 11 o'clock checkout; such is life. While I typically enjoy staying in hotels I was disappointed with this stay. Some of the issues I experienced during my three night stay here included: -finding stains on the carpet and bedspread -the walls were so thin I could hear people talking in the hallway or in the adjoining room next to me -when I called the front desk at 10p to report ongoing music in the room next door they offered to give me points towards my frequent stay program rather than contacting the guest. I ended up having to listen to this all night and couldn't sleep - the pool was out of order during my stay and the gym facility was poorly air conditioned. I found it humid and clammy. -there were no blinds on the windows, rather just a sheer curtain. I felt uncomfortable changing inn the room area because of this - I had a room with two queen beds and one was broken. My stay at Hampton Inn in Neptune/Wall, NJ (4 McNamara Way, Neptune City, NJ 07753) from August 4-5 was a visit that I would not want anyone to experience. I've never felt so violated and angry in my life. I traveled to NJ from MD for work travel that coincided with a family wedding. I chose the Hampton Inn off of their reputation and online reviews. Around 1:00 AM on the morning of August 5th, I received a phone call. I answered, but there was no response. About 15 minutes later, I awoke to loud banging on the door and shouts of police officers. I thought it was a nightmare; however, my fiancé got up to an already opened door that was only being closed by a safety latch. He removed the latch and the three NJ State Police proceeded in the room and one demanded my room confirmation. At this point, I am unclothed and fearing for my safety, so I show the receipt from my email. Even after the officer saw proof, he requested that I come downstairs to talk to the front desk. I had to get out of bed and get dressed. I'm livid at this point, because I have to wake up at 5:00 AM in order to prepare to be a bridesmaid in the wedding. When I arrived to the front desk, I spoke with the receptionist, Cee Cee, who had just started her shift at the front desk. She said that our room was not marked as checked-in on the computer and that the hotel had a problem with unauthorized people staying in their rooms. She then explained that she called and attempted to knock on our door (all at approximately 1:00 AM). I checked in at 4:00 PM on August 4th and was given two keys. A staff member and the manager were behind the desk. Cee Cee showed no sympathy and was very defensive. She made it seem like it was common practice for the police to be given access into a customer's hotel room, which is the result of a life threatening internal control problem. I travel extensively for work and vacation and this has never happened. I was disgusted at the level of customer service received during this incident. Cee Cee offered a 50% discount for a mistake that was 100% the fault of the Hampton Inn. After I got back to my room I could not sleep and no longer felt comfortable in the hotel. When I left a few hours later, Cee Cee finally apologized (too late) and said her manager offered to comp the room. In my eyes this was not enough for a night of humiliation, panic, and extreme frustration. The hotel is putting their customers at risk by not knowing who is checked-in the hotel at all times and then allowing the police to go into rooms (violation of 4th Amendment Rights) that they have not accounted for in the computer system. I'm currently seeking advice from my lawyer on the next steps because this experience was beyond unacceptable. I just wanted to let everyone know about this incident, so it does not happen to you! read more

Elliptical was a little outdated however there was a nice set of free weights. Breakfast was served but I was not up at the time. I am very disappointed in the attitude of some of the staff at the Hampton Inn of Neptune/Wall. Front desk attendant Lori was extremely rude to my mother as she was dropping off gift bags for my wedding where we booked over 30 rooms. They also hung up on my cousin when he called to check on his reservation telling him he was "cursing" on the phone which he absolutely did not do. The majority of my guests have similar complaints of rude staff during their stay. The hotel was also not accommodating to our request of an early check-in for 1 of the 30 rooms in our block for the groomsmen to get dressed in even after we were told my reserved room was unbooked the day prior. Forcing us to make alternate plans. You would think after giving them so much business they would do their best to accommodate this request. With so many hotels in this area I would recommend staying AWAY from this hotel when you have to stay in Neptune/Wall. read more

The room was great. We were disappointed in the breakfast Buffet. We came down at 8:00 AM no waffle mix, no half and half for coffee. Everything was picked over and not cleaned up. We were there for an overnight on 27 June. The pool was over chlorinated and there was toilet paper at the bottom of the pool. The front desk was less than professional, disorganized and took more than ten minutes to check out and settle the bill. This was not because of a line of people as we stood at the desk. This is the second time I've been here on business. the rooms are clean, the bathroom is spacious with a large walk in shower with great water pressure, the towels are fluffy, the beds are comfy, there is a 32 in flat screen tv with a multitude of channels, a desk, free wifi, the staff is really friendly and extremely helpful. Free full breakfast in the morning. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa always available in the lobby, fresh fruit as well. I really like this hotel. A great place to stay. Let me start with this is a clean hotel. The staff were ok also. But... The bed was sleeping on a bed of concrete and the air conditioning didn't work. We booked 2 nights here but I can't go through another one. Usually Hampton Inns have a very comfortable bed this was the exact opposite. Also it's hot in here and they are sold out. They sent one of the front desk guys up to fix the air - said he did and I think it got hotter. Need sleep Ok this is a revised review from the day before. Two staff people need special consideration. They listened to my concerns and moved our room. Thanks Carl and Yusef. Because of you it changed a 2star review to a 4 star review. Just stayed here for two nights. VERY FRIENDLY STAFF and spacious rooms. However, there were a couple things that need to be addressed for this hotel to get more than two stars (or repeat business) from me. 1) my room wasn't cleaned by housekeeping for my second night's stay. They knocked on my door at around noon but we were getting ready to go to a wedding and I asked the young lady to come back in 30 minutes and she said yes. She obviously never returned as the beds were unmade and the garbage cans were full when we returned from the party. I did not have the do not disturb tag on the door ! I had to go to the front desk to get clean towels and toilet paper. I'd like to think this was an oversight but two other couples at the party had the same experience. 2) there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. If you take a hot shower you have to use the hair dryer to unfog the mirror 3) the onsite pool is advertised as heated but was anything but. Booked a block for our wedding. I had the suite and our other family members and bridal party loved their rooms! Planning our stay was smooth and efficient. Adra Beltz was amazing and attentive. We spoke on the phone quite a number of times. She helped fix an issue with my online hotel block reservation and was just so awesome and nice. Her service was above and beyond, really appreciated that. She also wrote is a card and included a gift that was left for us on our suite bed. My family and I took a long drive to Atlantic City last year to see a concert. We left the Boston area in the afternoon and before we knew it, it was starting to get dark and we would have to find a hotel to spend the night. We came to a rest stop in the area and asked where the nearest hotel was and they told us the Holiday Inn and gave us verbal directions but we could not find it. Lucky for us, the Hampton Inn was on the way and we quickly booked a room. Service was fast and friendly and the entire hotel was sparkling clean. They have a dining area where they serve breakfast in the morning, but we were in a hurry to get to Atlantic City the next morning so we didn't get to try it or any of the other amenities they had to offer. We were very pleased with our spacious and clean room, we ordered delivery from a local pizza place and went off to sleep and packed up the next morning. While our stay was brief, it was a great experience and if we are to go to Atlantic City again, I will input their address into my GPS instead of trying to find any random hotel in the dark! read more

My stay at the Hampton Inn was the perfect way to spend my Fourth of July! I was amazed by how quiet my room was, especially given that a lot of other people were staying there for the holiday. Rooms are clean and service is good but the breakfast in the morning was terrible. I stay in hampton inns about 50% of the year and to have never been disappointed with breakfast until now. The "scrambled" eggs are more like egg balls. I tried to be optimistic and had some, but they were disgusting. There was also very little selection. Usually there are hard boiled eggs and yoghurt, or some type of protein option, not here. Also there is usually different types of fruits. They just had apples. This hotel was fantastic. I recently stayed there while visiting family and was very impressed. I had previously chosen to stay at the HGI in Lakewood but stayed here to save a little money. It was absolutely worth it. The hotel was extremely clean and the parking was abundant. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, exactly what I needed after a long day of traveling. We stayed at this hotel Sunday, it's updated and clean. Rooms are nice, big TV with tons of channels, comfortable bed. Lots of parking, which is important to us because we were traveling with a 20 foot trailer. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because the pool was too cold for us adults, although our eight-year-old said it was fine. Lots of snacks for sale 24/7 in the lobby, good Internet. Breakfast was decent, make em yourself waffles, omlets, sausage. The usual free hotel breakfast fare. There is a decent restaurant right across the street called the Brick House, and a huge outlet center right across the street too. Sunday night, two queen room was around $135 after taxes and fees. We used Hampton Inn Neptune/Wall for our wedding block. The rooms and hotel in general were all very nice, clean, and new looking. Barbara was very helpful in getting our block set up and helping me add rooms (twice!) to the block. We were able to reserve a private breakfast room for our guests the next day which everyone loved.
