Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Neptune on a Saturday night while attending a wedding nearby, and it was quite a pleasant, easy stay. I arrived in the afternoon and was greeted and checked in promptly. I have IHG status, and they gave me a small goodie bag with water and snacks at check-in. My room was on the second floor (ground level, just steps from the lobby). The room itself was quite large, with a modern design that felt recently renovated. There was a large television and a desk area with a comfortable leather chair. The mini fridge was more substantial than usual, closer to a half-size fridge, and actually worked well, which is not always the case in hotel rooms. The heating and fan system also worked effectively, and I was able to block out any outdoor noise. The bed was especially comfortable, with plenty of pillows that were not overly firm, and clean, crisp white bedding. The bathroom was spacious, the shower had good pressure, and was stocked Dove products. Breakfast is included with the stay. I had a few mini omelettes, though much of the hot food had run out by the time I got there. There was still a decent selection of fruit (apples, oranges, berries), baked goods, and oatmeal packets. I also had tea, although I heard the automatic coffee machine was not working during my visit. Overall, this was a smooth and comfortable stay. The Holiday Inn Express brand seems to have experienced a glow-up, my recent stays over the past few years have been good, well-priced, and reliable. read more

My daughter, granddaughter and I stood at this hotel while we went to the beach during the summer. Also we had a friend and her family stay in another room. They gave my room a price and charged us a price on Experian, and I called because I had the reward membership, which was a cheaper rate and was told when I called , that when we we arrived, they would fix the price to the cheaper rate. Well you got it right, we were at the check in desk for 40 minutes and they wouldn't do anything for us. Even though the lady I spoke to the day earlier the I spoke to that was going to change our rate was the girl at the front desk. Then our stay came with complimentary breakfast, they couldn't keep up with the food for How many guest they had, and didn't have enough tables or space to sit and eat. read more

I would like to clarify that I have never personally communicated with General Manager Isadora Silva. Despite Jenny H. response to my earlier review that I had spoken with Ms. Silva, no direct conversation has taken place. My issue with Ms. Silva began on December 30, 2024, when after a commitment to a callback following a discussion with the housekeeper responsible for my room, I received no such follow-up. Further attempts to connect included a voicemail left on January 1, 2025, and response to my online review indicating communication that did not actually occur. Regarding the loss and subsequent retrieval of my bag, I was advised on January 2, 2025, via a response to my Yelp review, that Ms. Silva had spoken with me and that my bag had been found, pending a shipping label for return. As I had not spoken with Ms. Silva, I called the Holiday Inn Express Neptune the following day for clarification. I was informed by Tierra that Ms. Silva was unavailable, but the Front Desk Manager was in. I surmised they were standing in very close proximity to one another as I could hear Tierra relaying what I said to her and her response. During this interaction, it became evident there was confusion about the shipping process, leading me to inquire if personal collection by my sister was permissible. After obtaining the bag, I discovered that some of my items were missing. Additionally, I returned to New Jersey from January 9 to January 12 and chose to stay at the Doubletree Hotel Tinton Falls based on past experiences. During my stay at Holiday Inn, I encountered issues with or lack of housekeeping services, as well as the unfortunate theft of my belongings, which has led to my decision not to patronize this establishment again. In summary, these events have unfortunately undermined my trust and confidence in the service standards at the Holiday Inn, and I believe it is essential for such matters to be addressed promptly to maintain guest relations. read more

Was in town for the week for work. Had 2 other guests with me. I was out most of the time but they were there. Good variety of snacks. Nice workers. Clean rooms. good breakfast (some of the biggest blueberries i have seen) had no issues. def recommend. read more

A bit expensive for what you get. Our room was very dated on the first floor. Paid over $180 and the beds are terrible, the bathroom vent is extremely loud and you can't turn it off, bathroom door was difficult, fan to our AC wouldn't turn off even after we shut off the AC on wall, and our bathtub would not hold water. read more

We have stayed here several times and while the location is very central, there always seems to be a bump or two. In this case, over the course of our 5 days stay, housekeeping failed to clean out room 2 out of the 5 days - leaving us to go to the front desk for toilet paper and fresh towels. There is a complimentary breakfast from 6A-10A and there is enough there to satisfy you and get your day started, but don't go near the scrambled eggs. Clearly powdered (or just plain awful) they aren't something you want to even think about. The price is reasonable, but after this last trip with some hiccups, we'll try one of the nearby hotels on our next visit. read more

I have been staying at this hotel for a few years and overall we are consistently happy with our stay. The room is well kept and immaculate upon arrival. The toiletries are top quality with Bath and body works scents. Breakfast is a great addition to the stay with both hot and cold options and CINNAMON ROLLS. There is a pool, fitness center and a game room on the first floor. Staff was great throughout the building. Fruited water or lemonade was always available in the lobby. Day 2 Room 2 bath tub did not work, room 3 day 3 The tv and coffee maker did not work, the maintenance men could not speak any English! Very nice staff and clean room. Hotel is small (two floors of rooms) but makes for a quiet stay! Perfect distance from the beach, without staying too close to avoid young partying crowd. UPDATE: The hotel was very clean, which is reassuring after being shut down due to COVID-19. There was a weird smell in the room when we arrived. I did spray areas down with disinfectant+bleach, so it overpowered that smell. However, I feel like it returned the next day. I wasn't sure if it was a smoke smell, a type of disinfectant they use or potentially mold. (It was a non-smoking room). Might return if looking for a basic place to stay. read more

It's a holiday inn so you can't expect too much, but man this place has to get its act together. From reservation problems (we can't find your booking) To simple room configuration issues, and then they can't give a late checkout to 1 or 2 pm? On a Sunday going into Monday? When we showed up at 4pm the rooms were not ready and smelled like WEED, yeah they stank like POT SMOKE. So they need you to check out at 12...but don't have rooms ready for 4hrs later??? I stayed here 5/25 and 5/26 for business. The room was clean and the wifi was decent. My only complaint with the room was the TV remote. I found it difficult to use. Terrible service. I stayed here for 3 nights and we received no room service or customer service. When we opened the door to our room, the room we were given was not cleaned. The front desk clearly does not keep track of which rooms are cleaned and which ones aren't. I asked twice for our room to be cleaned which didn't happen during our 3-night stay. Also, the walls are PAPER THIN. We heard our neighbors talking and vIce versa. Make sure to bring earplugs if you make the unfortunate decision to stay here. I recently was just there and have to say in all my years of traveling and staying at a hotel this by far was the worst. Made reservations 6 months prior for a family wedding and booked several rooms. Followed up the night prior to arrival asking to have a 93 year old placed in a room nearby one of the many rooms booked and was told by a very helpful rep that would not be an issue and if available would be able to have at least one room so family could get dressed. The next day when checking in my room was ready however the room for the 93 traveling with us did not have a room which wasn't the issue but we weee told they will put her room anywhere or available. I explained the situation & conversation with the person Clare at check in said nothing she would do, that's the way it works. She was rude, nasty & rolling her eyes. Another family member asked to speak with a manger. The manager Isadora Silva proceeds to come out & say she doesn't like the way her employees is being spoken to. No one voice was raised, not one nasty word was ever spoken to her. The manger dressed in sweat pants & a t ahirt(not uniform) said get out I'm canceling ur rooms. I said on what grounds..her reply"cause I said so. That's why" & if u don't I'm calling the cops. The cops came and tried talking to her & she refused to listen. We even said to play back the video & you will see nothing was ever said. The cops asked & she refused. They the cops started helping us to find another hotel since we needed a room for a wedding. They helped call local hotels & found one for us. They apologized and said this was completely wrong and not how they treat people when they come to visit their town. While there another guest came to complain that air conditioner was smoking and she completely ignored her. The woman was on the phone with the corporate office to complain & both Isadora and Clare refused to get on the phone with corporate office & left them on hold for 45 mins while alll this was going on with the cops present. What a complete disgrace of a hotel. Customers mean nothing obviously because after reading other reviews. Both Clare and Isadora did the same exact thing to another customer 2 weeks prior to this. BEWARE OF UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES ON YOUR CREDIT CARD! This establishment is a scam and a joke. I had an unauthorized charge from them after I checked out of their hotel. Called them two days after checking my bank statement and the manager on duty said it was their mistake for double charging me and the funds would be returned in about 5 business days. She then proceeds to call me back later that day explaining that it wasn't a mistake but miscommunication with their staff and that the charge was for an extra day because I left my belongings there and didn't check out. I did not leave any belongings there and checked out that day by 11 am. I even returned the key to the front desk! I explained this to her and ask her what belongings did I leave for them to say that. Her answer was "I don't know but when house keeping came by they saw your belongings, and we tried calling your room but there was no answer.." Of course there was no answer cause I was checked out and no one was in the room. After going back and forth I said I would come there in 20 minutes to dispute this because they have security cameras. She then says she's actually already suppose to be clocked out and she can't wait for me to come but the general manager will be here the following day and I can follow up with her. I explained to her I won't be able to come the next day cause of a morning flight but that was that. So I call the next few days without being able to reach the manager and no returned phone call from her, I finally had to call my bank and they were able to dispute the charges. She walkie talkie'd to house keeping to change the sheets I had to go the front desk for clean sheets and change my own bedding. We arrive and aren't even greeted - we just kind of have to say our name and the front desk worker starts talking into the walkie talkie in Spanish. Mind you, it's 3:45 and check in is 3:00 p.m. We get our key and go into our room where housekeeping is still working and the room STINKS of cigarette smoke. My husband asks the housekeeper if this is a smoking room and she says no. Between my husband's allergies and my baby, there's no freaking way I'm staying in this room. He goes to get a new room and we're placed right next door which is only slightly less smokey and STINKS OF FRIED CHICKEN. I had to keep the fan on the whole three days because I was going to vom and you can't open the windows. The beds - OH MY FREAKING GOD - they must assume we're all going to wet the bed because the mattress pads are plastic and crinkle all bloody night. For $100/night - NO WAY. The place sucks!!! Made reservations for 2 rooms 1 king 1 double for Wed through Sunday, over 2 months ago We are formula d team and driver and had a block of rooms through this hotel. Wednesday I get a call saying they are over booked and they only have the long bed for one night and have to move our crew to a hotel 30 mins away, but they still have the king bed for us. We get to the hotel. She told us that was the last room and that we were the last ppl checking in. We walked in room it was a double. We went back out and asked why it wasn't a king, she ended up moving us to a king. I then went back out and asked why the crew had to be moved if they had a double bed room and said I would like it if they could move back here instead of far away. She still insisted that all rooms were taken. I repeatedly told her that I know it's not her fault but we have had a long night and we can't be moving around and having this happen. I made sure I was not rude and that I was as nice as I could be in this situation. I also told her that someone told me they overheard her saying that she had 7 rooms left. I asked why that was and she said it was for another week. I said OK Thanx and walked away. I turned the corner and she is on the phone with her boss telling her that I am invading her privacy and I'm an "eavesdropping b****" at her at her workplace etc.. I came back around and confronted her and said "I would appreciate it if you didn't talk about me while I'm standing right there, thanks" she said "your welcome" in a snotty voice. I got the corporate number and I'm calling tomorrow and sending in all the recordings of the rude lady and all the hoops we had to jump through. DO NOT STAY here if you are wanting to rest and sleep in. The doors have a closing mechanism that is strong and SLAMS them whenever someone leaves. Even if you are not a light sleeper, it will wake you up when those around you get up to leave. I have been woken up at 5:00 6:00 7:00 etc. That is the problem, it isn't just once, once you get woken up the first time, it continues as people get up to leave. During the week it isn't bad as I leave early too. ( And yes, I slowly close my door.) The metal hing to keep the door locked or open clangs when the door shuts and then you get this big bang from the door slamming into the metal. I actually bought some pads from the Dollar store for mine and gave the extra to the front desk but doubt if anything will be done. The staff here are wonderful and full of smiles but follow through sucks. As a Priority Platinum member, I was told I could get an upgrade at check in but because I am staying here too long I guess I can't, The young lady at the counter offered to check on a microwave as management was purchasing them for long term stays and wrote my name down over a week ago. Told them about the bathroom door as like another poster said, the fan is LOUD and it is easier to keep the door open and not turn on the light. She was going to get me a door stop but that didn't show either so I purchased two for $1 at the Dollar store. Came in with a urine stain on the front of the toilet and left it to see if it would ever get cleaned and it has not after over two weeks. It is a nice place, newly remodeled and the staff seems attentive and full of smiles. Oh, if you turn the TV channel to 414 and turn it as loud as it will possibly go, the music drowns out the door slams. Decent music also. Sorry for the loud music neighbors but I have tried everything else I can think of with this door thing. Oh, they have one awesome benefit program here and it is only the weekend door issue that is a real pain for me so that is why I am staying. I wanted to give this hotel five stars. I just couldn't because there were Cheerios and crumbs left from the previous occupant on the coffee table when we took possession of the room. Say what! Also no garbage cans the kitchen area. Everything else was wonderful. The bed was huge and comfortable pillows needed to be firmer. The indoor heated saltwater pool was just lovely. The staff were great and accommodating, Including getting a reduction in the room rate for the obvious reasons stated above. Parking was easy and the hotel is located on a major road allowing you to get anything that you might need from various stores and shops and gas stations etc. And you're only a 10 minute drive from the beach. read more

Stayed here on Sunday with my girlfriends for my friend's wedding. It's very easy to get to, as its right off of Route 66 & they have plenty of parking once you get into the lot. I was told that check in wasn't until 3, but when I arrived at 2 the front desk let me check in early. When I got to my room, I was impressed with the setup. There was plenty of space for both my girlfriend & I to get ready. This hotel was also very close to the wedding venue (about 15mins) so it was just a short Uber ride to & from. We had a king size bed in our room & it was extremely comfortable. The only negative about our stay was that there weren't any towels in the room (we used mini ones since we were hurrying to get ready) & the shades did not close fully so the room was a little bright Monday morning. It's a clean hotel with a friendly staff. However, several times housekeeping has ignored the do not disturb sign on the door. They knock loudly and yell housekeeping and then try to enter. This has happened repeatedly in spite of me calling the front desk before hand to ask them to tell housekeeping that I would be checking out a little later. Very disappointing. read more

I like Holiday Inn Express as a general rule. They're affordable, clean, have locations literally everywhere you could possibly want to go, and they usually have indoor pools and hot breakfasts available, as well. This location was no exception. Checked in online. Location was easy to find. Room was very affordable. Reception staff was friendly and informative. Good parking, handicapped accessible. Common areas were all clean and comfortable. Room was also clean and comfortable. This particular location does not have any sound proofing. If someone coughed two doors down, you heard it as if it happened right next to you. I keep sleep sounds on my phone, so it was a nonissue for us, but it could be for someone else. Also, the mattresses at this location aren't as comfortable as the Long Branch location. I know, I know- it's a franchise and they're all the same, and that may be true, but perhaps these are a little older than other locations? It was difficult to get comfy. But I digress. This location has a lovely outdoor space out back, and our room had a wonderful view. The room came with complimentary coffee and a keurig which is nice. I also really liked that shampoo and conditioner and body wash are all communal types hung on the bathtub wall- this is so much less wasteful than other locations, and I appreciate conveniences that are eco-forward. I also liked that this location has a laundry room and a game room and an indoor pool. Pool is clean and a great temperature. Towels are conveniently located poolside. Plenty of seating and even a few tables. No lifeguard on duty but plenty of emergency equipment in easily accessible areas of the room. Game room was clean and eco-friendly with motion detection lights for energy efficiency. Games said play til you win, but they weren't, so we didn't spend much time there. Probably just a glitch, but it bears mentioning. Next morning, we enjoyed a very nice hot breakfast buffet. Checkout was handled online. Very simple. Overall, satisfied with this location! read more

We were at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in Spring and saw this new hotel. In this area of the Jersey shore from Asbury Park ,and Ocean Grove ,Spring Lake, Bradley Beach , Manasquan and so on until you get to the south Jersey shore , there are no hotels on the beach. There are mostly bed and breakfasts and they are pretty expensive because they have to make enough money to survive through the winter. We used to stay in the B and B's a lot. But now that the shore is popular (because it was basically empty for years) especially Ocean Grove and Asbury Park so many people stay there now that they are usually booked and if you manage to get a room , the people who own the B and B's are not used to the amount of people who stay there and can't seem to keep up with the cleaning and upkeep while they are busy during the summer. There are no high end hotels in this area of the Jersey shore. I also find that there is very little privacy at the B and B's. I am a private person and do not like people in my face and I think many if not most New Yorkers are that way. Especially when on a romantic get away we just want to be alone and do not want to answer a bunch of questions from strangers who happen to be staying at the same B and B. I know they are trying to just be friendly but it just isn't my thing. So having been to many of the B and B's at the shore discovering this was a welcome find. It is new so relatively clean though I don't know how long it will stay that way. It was not super clean like A loft but it was all new. Nobody was in our face and the staff was friendly. The only down side is we thought it was closer to the beach than it was. We discovered it while at the Jersey shore outlets and it is right at the outlets. But maybe about a fifteen minute drive to the beach. It turned out not to be as close as we thought. I am a city girl. I am 48 years old and never had a need to drive. My husband was born and raised in Brooklyn and he did learn to drive. But as New Yorkers we don't drive all the time or everywhere. So if you are from Jersey this would be a good choice but as a New Yorker I think it was a little further from the beach than we had hoped. As far as how it looks it looks just like any Holiday Inn Express. We did not even bother to take pictures. If you see my hotel list you can tell I have stayed at many hotels of many different kinds in many areas. Don't take the 3 stars to mean anything is wrong with it. It is just that out of 5 stars having stayed at some of the most high end hotels in the country I can only give it 3 stars. I mean it is The Holiday Inn Express on the Neptune, Tinton Falls border in NJ. I only gave the Bellagio in Vegas 4 stars. So it is just a poor rating system. It would be a more effective rating system to have 10 stars. I stayed one night for a wedding. The stay was ok, nothing to rave about. The rooms need some TLC. There was black mold in the shower, missing parts on the toilet and dust throughout the room. The breakfast room is rather small. We went down around 9 AM and the pancake machine kept breaking and the staff was less then enthusiastic to fix or replenish the other hot items. All and all, the stay served its purpose, I was able to see my friend get married and visit the beach. read more

I am used to staying at the holiday inn and the experience is usually good but this time when I had to stay there for a residency interview at a nearby hospital, my experience was not good at all. There was a major problem with the internet and they were unable to fix it all evening. Stayed here Thanksgiving night to avoid a long drive home in the dark. Reception pleasant. Room spotless, as well as the bathroom, which looked brand new, it was so clean. Beds very comfortable with pillows that are perfect. Breakfast was ok, with good variety of standard fare, but nothing to really rave about; reminded me of airplane food, pretty generic.
