Really liked the room, but the microwave in room 418 was not good and did not cook to throughly, and i had a terrible time with it. I had pitched a frozen dinner downstairs and it was not a good experience. Hotel was nice and clean. The room was spacious. The breakfast was good and was the traditional Hampton Inn breakfast with all the options. I did get to enjoy the pool too which was nice. Staff was great aside from the housekeeping conversation. I arrived in the afternoon and was greeted and checked in promptly. I have IHG status, and they gave me a small goodie bag with water and snacks at check-in. My room was on the second floor (ground level, just steps from the lobby). The room itself was quite large, with a modern design that felt recently renovated. There was a large television and a desk area with a comfortable leather chair. The mini fridge was more substantial than usual, closer to a half-size fridge, and actually worked well, which is not always the case in hotel rooms. The heating and fan system also worked effectively, and I was able to block out any outdoor noise. The bed was especially comfortable, with plenty of pillows that were not overly firm, and clean, crisp white bedding. The bathroom was spacious, the shower had good pressure, and was stocked Dove products. Breakfast is included with the stay. I had a few mini omelettes, though much of the hot food had run out by the time I got there. There was still a decent selection of fruit (apples, oranges, berries), baked goods, and oatmeal packets. I also had tea, although I heard the automatic coffee machine was not working during my visit. Overall, this was a smooth and comfortable stay. The Holiday Inn Express brand seems to have experienced a glow-up, my recent stays over the past few years have been good, well-priced, and reliable.

They gave my room a price and charged us a price on Experian, and I called because I had the reward membership, which was a cheaper rate and was told when I called , that when we we arrived, they would fix the price to the cheaper rate. Well you got it right, we were at the check in desk for 40 minutes and they wouldn't do anything for us. Even though the lady I spoke to the day earlier the I spoke to that was going to change our rate was the girl at the front desk. We paid $130 on top of a $50 deposit at one in the morning only to check out before 11 upon entering the room I got sick to my stomach because of a putrid extremely strong smell of mildew/wet dog I was told this was the last room available and could not get my money back if I wasn't going to stay it was only a few hours so we decided to suck it up. My husband turned on the hot water to take a shower and not even five minutes went by and the fire alarm is going off from the steam. He couldn't even get through a full shower without the alarm going off so eventually, we just let the alarm go off until the shower was done. The comforter on the bed had burn holes and stains. You could tell the sheets have not been changed. Luckily, I brought my own blankets. The heat kept turning off and we would wake up freezing only to see that the thermostat red low battery and would not stay on waking up in the morning. We had a note under our door that they were doing maintenance and there would be no order at all until further notice so we couldn't take a shower rush-hour teeth or even use the bathroom before checkout. The guy was knocking on the door 10:55 and since my husband was already at the car, he assumed I was alone and kept winking at me and giving me the absolute creeps. I also noticed a bunch of itchy bumps on my back and chest after I left, so I'm assuming there was probably some kind of bedbug or something too the lady at the desk was so rude and didn't.Want to hear a word I had to say. The walls were stained, the bed spread was stained with questionable fluids. There were also cigarettes holes in the sheets. Stellar. The tv remote was missing, so we started messing with the tv to see if we could get it on and change channels without it.... the tv had several holes in it. When my boyfriend shuffled the tv, a dead bug fell out of the hole in the back. Super. I guess someone had been living in this place before we came along, because they left behind their dirty, busted Xbox, along with several controllers. I think my favorite piece of TRAISURE, however, was the court summons that was tucked into the tv stand. Truly a precious, irreplaceable souvenir from our stay. Just do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to stay somewhere where you'll come in contact with less DNA. It's really not worth it to have to sleep with all of your clothes on.

The only room they had available was a smoking room. We reluctantly booked as we are non smokers. The first thing we noticed upon our arrival was the stench of stale cigarette smoke. It hit us like a ton of bricks. The overall cleanliness was awful. The sheets on the bed were ripped and had clearly not been changed. There was poop smeared on the toilet seat, the mini fridge looked like it had never been wiped down, the mirrors had gunk smeared all over them, the water from the sink, toilet and shower was brown and smelled like death. Washing up for the night was not an option. The real kicker? As I laid down in the bed, I noticed something blue and shiny laying under the dresser. I decided to investigate. It was a crack pipe! That's right, a complimentary crack pipe with booking of any smoking room at Royal Motel! We complained to management and we were refused a refund. Do not waste your money here! $110 for one night in this room was a rip off. If we had felt safe enough we would have just slept in the car. It definitely would have been cleaner
