My main concern was the lack of housekeeping. I checked in on Monday night and I called in on Wednesday morning requesting a room cleaning. The front desk was very nice and said yes we do it every other day but you were on the schedule for today ,I will make sure it gets done. Sure enough when I get back in the evening around 5 PM. It is not done. And no, I did not have the do not disturb sign out. For how much they charge per night on the rooms, the rooms are old and disgusting. The carpet looks like it's been there for 30 years. The whole place needs a remodel. The bedsheets are so thin that a sheet of paper is thicker. And the mattress sinks pretty deep in the middle, a result of being way too old. And why do they still have popcorn ceilings?! absolutely horrendous. And the room smells like dirty feet and rotten garbage mixed together! Disgusting. For a weeknight they charged over $200. Great location! Was at a medical conference right across the street so I decided to stay a few nights rather than drive home in rush hour. Staff was incredibly friendly only thing was I was never asked if I was parking a car there upon check in. I had to read QR code signs in the parking lot, so I inquired at the desk and turns out it is $10 a day for parking GLAD I asked I wouldn't have appreciated a notice stuck to my windshield or a tow. Room was comfortable and the thermostat was spot on and immediate. Bathroom was fine until I took my first shower the first evening as much as I turned the tap it still dripped and dripped and dripped and even with a good size room and the television on I could still hear it and had to shut the bathroom door. I was exhausted and didn't want to wait around for maintenance, one shower later and the next day the drip was lighter. Let talk TELEVISION for a minute, when I would hit GUIDE it would bring me to a guide and when I found something to watch it would take you to a completely different channel, you want to watch the history channel and bam you get Telemundo. Even when you press in the numeric channel and select it, you get directed to yet another channel! It's like the 1990's channel surfing only with this cable it takes a few seconds for the channel to come up so prepare for a 15 minute adventure....i finally just left it on a channel and watched four Indiana Jones movies against my will just to have something to listen to, USB ports next to the bed(s) didn't work, breakfast was standard the second day they had smoked sausage like proper sausages not breakfast links and they were very good! No housekeeping! I'm absolutely appalled ! We checked in on a Monday and out on Friday. Our room was never cleaned and we paid a ridiculous price for this. I had to ask for towels one night . One day there were clean towels placed in the bathroom , but the dirty wash clothes were still in the shower. On Wednesday night after calling the front desk I was told that I would have had to request clean sheets. I asked for clean sheets for Thursday , but again no one had entered the room. Is this in another. country ?? No, right here in Phoenix and I have never stayed in a hotel that did not include housekeeping services with the high dollar they collected from us. Avoid at all costs - bed bugs!! I travel frequently for work and always conduct a thorough check of the bedding/mattress. The first room they gave me had hair and stains all over the sheets, as if the bedding had not been cleaned. The second room I received had this huge stain on one of the mattresses. As I was checking the state of the sheets, I saw a bed bug crawl across the bedding. I'm sure there were more that I couldn't see. Well, I had high hopes for this hotel being that it is owned by Hilton. I was expecting the room to be clean, but boy was I wrong! There were blood stains or smears on the wall in the bathroom, blood droplets on the lampshade and ottoman...there were blonde hairs in the bedding and they are not mine, my hair is black...jet black. Also, there were hairs in the bathtub. The headboard also had stains on it...gross. At the price of $730 for 2 nights, I expected a better stay. The walls are thin so you can hear everything as well. We had a horrible experience at the Hampton Inn Midtown. Situated next to St. Joseph's Hospital, Hampton offers a discounted rate for families of hospital patients. The small discount is certainly not worth the cramped rooms and the poor condition of the hotel. While we were there the fire alarms went off twice - the second time at 9:30pm and blared for 20 minutes. The faucet in the bathroom offered only lukewarm water. The rooms are spartan and furnished with outdated lamps and chairs. The equipment in the limited fitness room was also out of service. Not at all what we were counting on! read more

Came here during a quick one day trip. I have been staying at a few Hampton inns. Or Hilton properties. Place is easy to find, tucked away in downtown Phoenix. Plenty of parking space available. Was helped right away and the process was pretty seamless. Handed me a one sheet which covers most of the questions one may have. After getting my keys, the room seemed a bit smaller than other Hamptons and the bed didn't seem to be as big. It was comfortable as were the pillows. I slept in late so I wasn't able to partake in the breakfast or fitness club. I did peak into the fitness club, didnt notice any free weights, but saw there was some nice treadmills that looked new. All in all a good visit. Very quiet, kids were enjoying the pool but not loud. Was good location for the friends I needed to see. I plan on being back in December. read more

I have stayed at this Hampton Inn as it is next to St Joseph's hospital, due to convenience. 7/4/23-7/5/23 we stayed in room 120, toilet seat was cracked, wallpaper falling off wall, dirty walls, bathroom floor needs to be redone, paint all over floors, just dirty. Breakfast was mediocre. Pool was refreshing, did need to be cleaned. Told the manager, I don't think he cared. It's too bad bc this hotel could be much more! Location for hospital needs are prime! Terrible smell coming through the air conditioning vents of the whole building. Migraine inducing. I had to open all the windows of my room and turn off the AC. Top notch customer service! I am a Hilton Honors member so I try to take advantage of the rewards program whenever I travel. I paid for a nonrefundable reservation and ended up having to change it to a different day. I was not able to change my reservation with Hilton Honors customer service so I called the hotel instead. The hotel manager chuck was very accommodating and made the change for me right away without asking any questions! Then my car broke down on I-10 in the middle of nowhere in Benson AZ on a Saturday. I had to tow my car to Tucson to get it fixed. Under such a stressful circumstance, I didn't even know if I could make it to Phoenix on the same day or not. So I called the hotel again to inform them that I might not be able to stay that night. Seth was the one who picked up the phone. He told me I could call back anytime to cancel my reservation. He even called me later to touch base with me to see if my car was fixed. Finally I made it to the hotel around 10pm. Seth was there to greet me, "Ms. W, I spoke with you on the phone. I'm so glad you've made it!" Suddenly I felt right at home. My hotel stay was short but wonderful. My room was clean and the breakfast was delicious. When I requested a late check out at 1pm, Seth gladly accommodated my request without a charge. The customer is indeed God at this Hampton Inn. From several days prior to my arrival to the day I depart, this hotel was there every step of the way to provide me the best customer service possible. I booked a last minute room at the Hampton Inn to visit a friend that is staying at St Joseph's across the street, which is so convenient. What stuck out to me about the Hampton Inn is the amazing hospitality. I, along with my friend's family, felt extremely welcomed and cared for during this difficult time in my friend's treatment. Also, I really appreciate that they too would ask us how she's doing and give words of encouragement. Aside from the amazing hospitality, they do serve complimentary breakfast including oatmeal, cereal, some hot items and a waffle maker. Very convenient especially since we spent most of our time hanging around St. Joseph's. The location is not only ideal for visitors of St Joseph's, but it is also just an 11 min drive from the airport. Why the high rates for an elderly person who was going to the hospital the next morning. I thought this hotel would be in better shape being an affiliate of Hilton. Old, outdated and cramped. Just another 1 star motel listed as something better because it is near St Joseph's Hospital, museums and festival venues, but the location doesn't make it worth the high rates. Booked a room here last minute to take my grandkids swimming for the day. Arrived right at 3pm which is check in time and there we no rooms ready!! Had all the kids ready to swim and packed a cooler full of food. There were also more people waiting for their rooms. We were allowed to sit at the pool and wait for our room which ended up taking until about 4:30 pm before we could get one. The young lady at the desk who had just arrived was trying to give me a room I did not book and said the room I wanted was going to take longer to clean. She was also not apologetic or nice. She seemed like she could care less! We ended up setting up our food in the waiting area to feed the kids because they were all hungry. The pool and jacuzzi are SMALL. The whole pool area reminded me of being in somebody's back yard. It's small for a hotel. No pool loungers cause there isnt any room. Just tables and chairs. We finally get the room and it was NOT what I am used to for being a Hilton property. Didn't even get my snacks for being a Hilton Honors member! The whole hotel is OLD, the room and the furniture is old but the room was clean. We spent the whole day and night at the pool until it closed. We were asked several times to be quiet and lower our music. Pool closes at 10pm. The kids had fun and that was the purpose but WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! It's outdated and the I got accommodated with a 2pm check out time for my hassle in the beginning. The hotel is small so not sure why they have issues with having rooms cleaned and ready for 3pm check in. Do better Hilton!!! Especially for your Hilton Honors members!! read more

Stayed at this Hampton Inn this past weekend for 1 night. My first impressions were - lobby area has been remodeled, staff was very friendly, this part of the hotel looked new. Our room was not available yet, but the desk clerk came over in about 1/2 hour to let us know room was available and checked us in. We went up to the room - a little dated, but very large for a "regular" room. Every time we went down and out - the desk staff greeted us with a hello and have a good afternoon, evening, etc. Great! I had to check into hotel due to family having emergent surgery. I almost feel like they take advantage of people in this situation. 1. Call the day before and ask what the breakfast situation was and was told that it was a regular breakfast. When I checked in, a young young man told The person in front of me that it was just cold items. This morning I was told it was a sack and breakfast with an apple had my phone in the water. Been to four other Hampton inns over the past 5 months during COVID-19. I understand due to COVID-19 but the staff shouldn't say it's a regular breakfast that's never been a regular breakfast. 2. (See bill) When I checked and I had to slide my card for $306 plus change. I was told the room was 108 a night plus tax. Also told at the incidental fees of $25 per night. I tried to ask the young man with my extra $12 charge was and he told me to talk to the general manager. My bill was $12 off. I spoke to Corrine the general manager. First I had to argue with her about which room I was in to see air conditioner on 228 was broken and they moved us last night at 2:22. I spent two minutes arguing with her which room I was in. She still didn't believe me. I moved on to discuss the bill and that there was a $12 difference. She said it was for incidentals. I asked her how much to enter incidental were and it was $25 per night. Explain to her I'll was being charge $31 a night for incidentals and she argued with me that it's only $25 and besides it's only six dollars difference per night. I called the Hilton customer service line and they told me it would go through the general manager of the property. I don't know what the point is complain about a general manager if I have to go through that same individual that won't listen to a word you're saying or offer any explanation. I've been going to Hampton Inn for over 25 years and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had in any hotel chain in my lifetime. No customer service, no customer satisfaction, no customer satisfaction guarantee. I left that night and would rather brave the traffic of having a drive across town to see my wife than to stay another night in this facility. Rooms were OK. Towels were well used probably need to be changed. That's more comfortable. Over all the facilities were slightly below average but given the age of the location probably typical. Needless to say there are many other hotels that you can use and I would consider that for now on. read more

I really enjoyed staying here. The service and amenities were great! It's an Inn so the place is on the smaller side, but it offers more than most hotel chains and the staff was always available and friendly. My room was clean and I liked the flat screen tv and the fact that I had a mini fridge in my room to save stuff in. There's a coffee maker and a microwave in the room too. A complimentary copy of USA Today was provided every morning and the staff was great about providing extra lotions, shampoos, soaps, and towels. There's free wi-fi in all the rooms and in the lobby. If you don't have a computer, there's even a computer and printer available in the lobby that is free to use. The pool and gym are open until midnight and breakfast is served for free in the mornings from 6-10am. Bacon, waffles, juice, yogurt, sausage...all you can eat...woo hoo! This is my choice of hotel for my monthly business trips. The rooms are spic and span, amenities adequately equipped and the staff are courteous. I also look forward to their complimentary breakfast every morning. Beverly, who handles the complimentary breakfast, is the bomb. She greets you with a warm smile and gives you the full attention which will ensure you have a hearty breakfast to start your day. The front desk staff, especially Olivia, are hospitable, courteous and responds in a timely manner. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to have a more spacious fitness room. The proximity to the St Joseph's hospital lends this property to be used by many family of patients, and the staff is beyond nice, but rather super accommodating and compassionate. speaking to the front desk they offered the best and most reasonable rates for the week we stayed, better than anything online. everything in the hotel was clean and functioning and the breakfast area was stocked and pristine. Fresh coffee at all hours, and I really needed that. Our room keeper really took care of our mess, and every day. the room was fresh as new. There are no words that can express the gratitude for the extra steps they took to help my family during our darkest moments. truly a stellar staff, with hearts as big as the valley. read more

Shocking for a Hampton Inn. First room I was given, room 212, had not been vacuumed and surfaces still had debris and hair on them. See pics. Was given another room that had been vaccumed. The carpet was disturbingly dirty and heavily stained in both rooms and in hallways. Hotel is renovating. Just because a hotel is renovating doesn't mean that they have no responsibility to professionally clean the carpets. Perhaps they made a financial decision that because they were renovating that the hotel would not spend another dime on rugs, and too bad for their unsuspecting guests. I was so disappointed with this hotel. If it hadn't been so late I would have left and went elsewhere. I have only had excellent experiences at Hampton Inns. A decent hotel for the price you pay. The fact they had a small gym was a super plus for me. Complex was safe to stroll around at night...you're situated right next to a hospital! This place is NICE! It doesn't have the glitz and glamor but it does have the essentials. I was so impressed with the mini fridge and microwave. I was completely shocked at the lap desk they provided! The bed and pillows were so soft and comfortable. Even the duvet was soft and warm. I didn't have much interaction with the staff other than to check in and out. Either way they were nice with smiles. I can't say anything about the free breakfast since we chose to go somewhere else for breakfast, but it did smell good when we passed by. The location is RIGHT next to a hospital but honestly I didn't hear a thing. It was very quiet. There were no obnoxious kids running down the hall or loud noises anywhere. The only complaints I have are that the toilets are oddly LOW. I'm short and I felt I was squatting on the floor! And also the little lotion bottle was only half way full...that's kinda gross at the thought that a stranger used it before me. Very minor details though. All in all I can't wait to stay here again. On the plus side the hotel is very convenient if you are visiting a patient at Barrows and the rooms are big. Oh yeah, they also have good coffee (important when someone you love is in the hospital). On the negative side the walls are paper thin and you can literally hear every person in hallway and the next room over (NOT a good thing when someone you love is in the hospital). Also I travel a lot! Mostly stay at Starwood hotels which offers free water to all rewards members. I am also a rewards member with Hilton and stay 5-10 nights a year minimum. But, no water in the room even if I wanted to purchase. I had to go back to lobby and was told the free water is "only for Gold members or above" - the "free" water is the bottle you can buy in bulk for 10 cents a piece or less. So I guess my business isn't worth 10 cents! Next time I with stay at Starwood. read more
