Booked four nights. Big Mistake. Night 1 had to change rooms twice due to ac problems. Night 2 moved to another room as the ac from night 1 had saturated the floor with water plus my clothes bag. Day 4 after dismal breakfast from first three days, got worse, they had half of their breakfast missing(waiting for the delivery truck was what I was told) Mgt was aware of the issues from my stay and never talked to me about any compensation. read more

We stayed one night on our road trip. It is an older hotel but clean and quiet. Check in and front desk by Ida was efficient and friendly. Breakfast was well stocked and neatly presented. This place needs cleaning and updating and more attention to maintenance. read more

There were leftovers from previous guests in the refrigerator. There was also soap left in the shower from a previous guest. Disgusting! If they cannot clean these obvious things, what else do they NOT clean? This hotel was very outdated and dirty. It's by far the worst Hampton I've stayed in and I've traveled a lot on business. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The carpets looked like they had not been cleaned in months. The grout between the tiles in the bathroom was black where you walked and WHITE where people did not walk. During the 2 night stay the AC only worked from 4am to 6am on the second night. The front desk told us that the maintenance crew would look into when the got in the next day. I've thrown bedding away that was better than what was on the bed in this room. I'm not sure if the mold smell was from the carpet or the bedding. I booked and expected to pay for a clean room that with air conditioning that cooled the room, not a pigsty that had an air conditioner that didn't work. When we checked out I went over all of the issues with the front desk. They remained as unresponsive as when we told them upon arrival. Had there been any rooms available in another hotel I would have gladly relocated. read more

If you've ever stayed at a Hampton, you know what to expect... and you can expect it here: clean building & room, courteous staff, etc. I usually use the fitness rooms where I stay when I travel, but I didn't this time so I can't review the equipment. It looked to be in good order however. Everything in the room worked as it should and you will get what you pay for, mostly. The 3 stars is for just that, delivering as advertised. No problems with this location. I am disappointed in the current industry trend, however, to stop having a decent breakfast (one of the main reasons we started staying at this chain over the others decades ago) behind the excuse of the flu panic. A coffee carafe, a machine with some OJ, and a waffle iron would go a long way towards helping a traveler get ready for the road. If some visitors are scared to use these items and would rather be served at the Waffle House, they could choose to do so. If hotels are cutting this service, they should also be cutting the price. read more

Much better than expected based on earlier reviews, some of which nearly led me to cancel. I'm glad I didn't. Not the best or newest Hampton in the chain, but clean, friendly and well maintained. Sure they could use a little bigger workout room, but the solo treadmill was available when I went. I felt welcome and found fresh fruit on the breakfast bar, which is increasingly rare at mid-level chain hotels. Probably the best lodging option in Ruston at this time. read more

All went good until I went to the room. I could not get the door to open. I called the front desk and a guy came up and rammed the door. Well it opened then. The little happy hour had some fried ravioli that apparently had been cooked too long. The did have a cold beer. The room is ok and it appears to be clean. read more

We had a great experience staying at Hampton Inn in Ruston! The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The location of the hotel is perfect. Near the highway for easy travel and also near many stores and restaurants. The room was modern but also cozy and very clean. The beds were super comfy and we had a great night's rest! The breakfast is also very good and had a lot of variety. I also loved the snack store they have in the lobby so you don't have to leave the hotel to get something small. They also have some microwave dinners and some healthy snacks which is a great alternative to vending machine snacks. We will definitely stay here again when coming through! read more

The Hampton Inn in Ruston was everything I needed for my stay during my visit. The location is superb and offers fairly easy access to wherever you may meed to go in town. On top of that, there are plenty of options for food and shopping right nearby. Check in was a breeze, and the person checking me in did a great job directing me to parking and the easiest options to get to and from my room. The room itself was very comfortable. I really enjoyed the bathroom and the great water pressure in the showers. The bed was firm enough that I didn't sink into it, which I really enjoyed. Nice TV amd desk area as well. Didn't get to use them much, but always like having them available, as well as a fridge and microwave, which the room also has. All in all a great hotel, and a great stay. Hampton Inn - Ruston is my go to spot for providing traveling musicians/bands with a comfortable place to stay. They staff is friendly and helpful, even at weird hours. Free breakfast is great, and the coin op laundry is life saver. Conveniently located near the city center & the interstate, this a fantastic stop for travelers. read more

Worst hotel ever!!! If I could give them zero stars I would. Second time we have booked this hotel with my mother checking in for us. There is always attitude issues with the front desk, they never have the room ready on time. Last time a piece of the carport almost fell on top of us. This time bad attitude, no accommodation even being diamond members. Then get to the room it's filthy, go downstairs to report it to the front desk Tiffany. When she states that there are no rooms, no housekeeping and she will get to it when she can. We asked for a manager Tiffany told us I'm the manager and this is all you get. Decent business-class hotel. If you have ever stayed at Hampton (or a Fairfield, or a Holiday Inn Express, etc.) you know what to expect. And this one is really no different. It is in a good location - right of I-20 near the business district and not far from La Tech. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the wify is of decent speed, and the complimentary breakfast bar is what you expect. A couple of things about this particular location: 1. The water pressure wasn't great. Not the best shower that I have ever had. 2. The workout room was very small - one treadmill and one elliptical. That's it. But as this is a member of the Hilton family (and it's cleaner than Paris) you do get the Hilton Honors reward points that I so love (not sure if Paris is handing them out). Bottom line: In general, it's what you expect. But they really do need to address the water pressure issue. read more

It's an older property by Hampton standards, but that explains why the breakfast area is under construction and the wall in the fitness center is wrapped in black plastic. The outdoor lounge furniture is nice. Add in a fire pit and your choice of happy hour beverage (beer or VitaminWater) and you've got a pretty nice evening. Get back to the room to find DirectTV? This hotel is in a great location near downtown Ruston. It's within walking distance to convenient stores, restaurants, and bars if you don't mind walking a few blocks. The staff was very friendly and welcomed us upon arrival. The atmosphere in the lobby is very comfortable, modern, and a great place to spend some time watching tv, or relaxing before going out on the town. The rooms were very nice & clean. The beds are very comfortable and the front desk helped us with anything we needed. There's also free wifi, which helped us a great deal in organizing our weekend plans. The complementary breakfast was wonderful, and there was plenty of variety to choose from. For those who want to exercise, there are plenty of options. They have a very nice gym and an outdoor pool that is clean and well maintained that's ideal for relaxing or exercising. I strongly recommend staying here when visiting Ruston. I will be back for sure. read more

So I checked in late Sunday - went right to bed. Woke up early Monday morning to start my "routine". 1) Fix a cup of coffee. 4 packets in my room, all 4 are decaf. That's not even really coffee. 2) Go potty. No toilet paper in room. 3) Put towel over towel bar, bar falls out of wall and on to floor. 4) Go down to breakfast and report the problems. Get back after work. 1) Still only 4 packs of decaf, no regular. 2) Roll of toilet paper, still in wrapper, now on the the counter. 3) Towel bar still on the floor. Go back downstairs to report again. Was able to find 2 regular coffee packs (that's all we have left). No maintenance staff today so towel bar cant be fixed. Really?! This is not a typical Hampton. I travel weekly and Hampton has always been my hotel of choice because I can always rely on room quality and service. It just wasn't there at this hotel. The bed was definitely not a Hampton quality bed, it creaked and groaned like the bed up in my Grandma's attic. And hard as a rock. When I turned on the hairdryer, it immediately started smoking and then shut off. I called the front desk for a replacement, which I never received, meaning I had to go meet my customer WITH WET HAIR. Direct TV was having "service issues" my entire stay (2 nights). Once again, the front desk said they were working on it but basically no TV the whole stay. The hotel itself is well located and central to several stores and restaurants, just don't check in expecting Hampton quality amenities. read more

Staff was overwhelmed by simple requests such as "a quiet room away from the elevator" and tried to give me a room on the 1st floor next to lobby. This is one of the worst Hamptons I've stayed at and I'm a Diamond Elite member. The hotel is in desperate need of repairs, most of which is the AC. Our room would not get cool and the staff could care less. After numerous complaints they said they called the maintenance man, which turned out to be a lie. We ended up sleeping in a hot room and lie in pools of sweat and despair all night. Next day after complaining again, we got a room change. The staff acted as if we were being unreasonable because we didn't want to sleep in the sweat-box again. Customer service was atrocious and had huge chips on their shoulders. read more

I spend approximately 100 nights per year on the road and am a Hilton Diamond member. I frequent Hampton Inns as they are pretty much all the same and I know what to expect. This Hampton in particular is the worst! I used to stay here but stopped over a year ago because there was "always something". Once the hotel was full, even though I had reservations. Another time there was a ceiling leak in my room with no other rooms available. A few other minor issues has also occurred. After my hiatus I decided to give this hotel another shot. I checked in the day before arrival and picked my room. When I did arrive, at 5:30pm mind you, there were no rooms ready. Never again. I would not recommend this hotel nor will I EVER book here again! Update: upon giving this hotel another chance after a year, same result. This is literally the last straw. I'll stay at the Courtyard from now on while in Ruston! read more

When it was time to go to bed, I found numerous small, winged insects crawling all over the bed. I called the front desk, and as all other hotels less than an hour away were booked, I was forced to stay in another room. He arrived before and pre-checked and paid for all 4 rooms so all we needed to do was pick up the keys due to late 11ish PM arrival . When we checked in at the front desk the lady said we only had 2 rooms and they were completely sold out. Since all 4 rooms were already checked in by our vendor we knew she was lying and confronted her , she claimed she forgot the rooms were under our names and not our group and provides me my room key after making a suspicious phone call .Having bad vibes immediately !!!! I unlock and swing open my room and see work books, bags , tv on . As you can imagine the fear that follows I made a mad dash to back out of the room realizing my room is already occupied ..lucky that person didn't attack me but super angry to be in this situation. The hamptons guest security is not top priority at this location. How would you feel if a complete stranger had keys to your room and how should I feel that I was the stranger, I feel so violated , frustrated. Mistakes happen I get it but this is not acceptable form a well established hotel chain. The hotel was also filthy. read more
