The good...We got a free trip! The people who work here are very nice. This is a nice looking place that has some entertainment in the mercado next door. They have a pool upstairs and a bartender. The view from the roof is a mound of dirt where someone is building a new hotel or something and on the other side you get to see a highway which has another hill or something next to it. The people who work here are very nice Unfortunately that was the best part of it. They are bilingual, which isn't an issue for me, but it may be for some. And they have a free breakfast like most Hampton Inns. The bad...We got a free trip. That's why we came here. This place isn't near anything except for a food court next door. we weren't near a beach. The promised beach was a bus ride away. The bartender wasn't available for a drink at 4:30 pm, she was supposed to be there until 6:30-7:00. The ugly...We got a free trip? Oh dear. We tried to walk to a store and along the high way because I didn't realize that it was an actual highway. There were others walking and on bikes too. It was miserably hot outside, even on the roof by the water. And the coldness of the rooms was such that I got a lung infection caused by supremely cold air. I couldn't use my C-PAP because it was so cold. Meaning that I spent my husband's birthday in the emergency room because I couldn't breathe without a lot of effort. I left with two inhalers. We couldn't turn the heat down in the room because the only options were very cold and off, which because too warm. Never again. This wasn't a free trip. It was a nightmare of an experience. I'm glad that it lasted only four days, a week would have been torture! read more

Checked in a week ago Thursday in what was to be a 5 night stay. The location by cab to downtown San Jose or to Los Cabo's was 35.00-50.00 USD. The worst part was I had breakfast on Friday morning and drank some of the watermelon juice and within 15 was violently sick with food poisoning for 3 straight days. I struggle with this because I get that it's a lesser expensive hotel but it's crap. This was my second time staying here and nothing changed. My husband has the highest status with Hilton and the perk here is a bottle of water and a cookie. The rooms smell stale and like musky water. Oh wait, that's because after returning to our room after staying one night and attending morning appointments, we found a towel and wastebasket in the middle of our room. (Room 242). Why you ask? Because the ceiling was leaking water and the housekeeping thought that was the solution rather than letting the front desk/maintenance know. I called down and said, "We have a leak in the ceiling. Your housekeeping knew because they put a trash bin and towel down. You need to move our room." Maintenance guy comes with a tool belt. I pointed up and said, "that's not going to fix that." He called the front desk and the guy asked to talk to me and said, "what do you want us to do." I again said, "I don't care what you do with this room but we're packed, you're moving us to a different room. NOT on floor 2 because this whole floor is a construction zone that shouldn't have anyone on it. Let me know when you have our keys ready." We got moved to 323 and it was fine. This hotel needs to learn how to run properly and stop just throwing people into uncomfortable situations. The other annoyance is that toiletries aren't consistent. Sometimes you get shampoo, sometimes you get body wash, sometimes nothing, occasionally everything. Not a fan. Positive? Pool has a nice view. But it's awkward (very high steps, not easy to enter/exit) and it's been cold every time we've been up there. read more

It's interesting to see the different reasons why someone would choose this hotel. Me; I was gifted a trip to Mexico to hang out while my father looked into property he wanted to buy. And we were placed here instead of the "Hilton" I also noticed that as there was a hospital located next door many people were there quietly recovering from medical procedures and the only children I saw besides my own two older teens were a couple with a small child probably around 3. This is a quiet and clean hotel with many rooms, a decent pool with a wonderful view and a hot tub and a gym. The carpet needs updating but the rooms were not bad. I had the window view of and empty field were some wild horses came to play. The pool was open from 8-10 so I couldn't catch the sunrise and they do not have rollout beds they lied. They serve breakfast and if you stay there often you know to get there when they first open at 7 because everyone seems to have their alarm set and the food which is decent goes quickly. They had over 10 options of hot food per day that was smart. A lot of older, retired and business folks staying here. But when I saw the hotel that we were supposed to be staying at. I mean it's not fair to compare the two. Not fair at all. The Hilton is SPECTACULAR and this was like a motel. They had parking and a small Merkado downstairs with many restaurants and options of things to eat and drink, games another big gym and the pharmacy. They also had a manicure place and a tequila experience downstairs. Interesting, not bad and no where near the beach ok ok like 10 minutes drive. But the Hilton is located ON one of the only swimable beaches so like idk. It's supposed to be a sister property and not bad but definitely not the same. Terrible hotel and experience. Came here on a business trip with don't other people. Our company has four rooms reserved and paid for. When we arrived they said they only had three available and couldn't give us another because they were all booked. We called Hilton corporate and confirmed that yes they should have had all 4 rooms but the Hampton refused to do anything about it. The second night one of my co workers called us over to his room because he said it wreaked of paint and when we went over it was an incredibly strong smell of paint. They must have painted the room next door. The odor was so strong he couldn't sleep in the room so he had to crash on the couch for the night in my room. The lady at the front desk was so rude about it and didn't believe us and sent one of the service staff who later confirmed to her that yes the odor was very strong. We just stayed at Hampton Inn for 5 nights using Hilton points (used points for 4 nights & got 5th night free). We chose Hampton Inn instead of some fancy all inclusive resort because we knew we would only be at the hotel to shower & sleep. We spent most of the days in the water. We reserved the accessible room because it is almost double the size of the regular rooms. We had the view of the back of the hotel ("garden view" lol) I am so glad we chose this place because it is right in between the places we wanted to visit. Less crowded than downtown area. We got breakfast delivered to our room every morning. You just need to call the front desk 30 mins before you want to have your breakfast delivered. One bad thing about their breakfast is their coffee. It was the worst I have ever had! but it is free. Just don't drink it. Having El Merkado right next door is also convenient for lunch & dinner. It would have been nice if this place had a laundromat since we had to hand wash swimsuits everyday & dry them all over the room! I would highly recommend this place if you rented a car & have a lot of activities planned during your vacation. Oh yeah- we got dollars exchanged to pesos in LA, but the hotel exchange rate is muchhh better here!!! (Bank exchange rate is really bad btw). read more

I stayed Dec 22-27, 2021. 5 days same Bfast every day. Pool was closed never opened. Room smelled weird .. I say it smelled damp, musty I left my black long jacket in the closet in room 211. Called the next day, ppl at Hampton Inn didn't pick up the phone. Very hard to call them. Talked to a guy on Dec 28 morning. He said housekeeping not in yet but he would leave message for housekeeping. Took my room number and description of item. I kept calling throughout the day but nobody picked up. I came to the hotel on Dec 28 at 6.30 pm. The lady in the front said housekeeping already gone home. Told me to come back next day. She took down room number and item description again. Called on Dec 29 at 11 am and the receptionist said she would talk to housekeeping. Called again at 11.40 am and she said they couldn't find the jacket. Came to hotel at 12.20 pm on Dec 29 and they said they couldn't find the jacket. Throughout the whole thing, the front desk never called me once. Not recommended to stay here. read more

Hampton Inn not at the beach? You bet! We recently stayed here for a few nights while waiting for friends to join us at a resort about 20 minutes further. Our experience was quite good. We had a large suite room. It had a comfortable king bed, kitchenette, lovely marble bathroom and big windows with giant shades. The rooms are white with almost nothing on the wall and travertine floors. The property sits next to a hospital and behind the El Merkado. We went to the El Merkado daily. It offers free overnight parking and community events from time to time. There is a spa onsite. I had an amazing manicure there. There is a lovely rooftop pool and hot tube. It's a great place to catch the sunset. There is a pool bar that offers food and drink that is open daily until 6pm. There is a Fresko supermarket that you can walk to nearby. And a public beach that is minutes away. The rates were under $100 USD. This is a fantastic option if you are seeking a low cost alternative to the mega resorts or pricy boutique hotels. The staff are welcoming and happy to assist with questions and requests. Give this financial gem a strong consideration for your next Cabo trip! You'll be glad you did. read more

My wife and where here March 23-March 27 for a wedding staff was very friendly. The room we where in the shower had no water pressure and the lighting was very poor. We up to use the jacuzzi and the water was hot and the jets weren't working. Reported it they sent a maintenance guy up there and said the way it suppose to work. So my wife and I decided to use the cabanas literally you can smell a bad order coming from a broken sewer line. Bar tender Mau (Maricio) was awsome. This pool reminded me of a rooftop pool in vegas, minus the huge bar tab. This place needs to add a DJ some nights and much more people will rush back after a day of excursions. Relaxing good view. They do have a decent speaker playing good music. read more

Price & Location: The hotel was very resonably priced at about $73 per night. This was the week of Thanksgiving. This hotel is located next to a hospital, veterinary clinic, a spa, a PEMEX gas station, and an outdoor market with several good food options. It's about 15 mins from the airport, 15 mins from Wild Canyon Adventure Park, and about 40 mins from the Marina. The room: The room was very spacious. Housekeeping came twice a day, which was great. And the view from the room was amazing. I loved watching the sun rise from my floor to ceiling window. Breakfast: Breakfast was included in the room cost. It was delicious. In addition to the usual waffle station, toast, fruit, and cereal, there was eggs, bacon/sausage, potatoes, and a traditional Mexican dish. The chicken dish was my favorite breakfast item. The staff: The staff was extremely friendly. Everytime we entered the lobby, they greeted us with a smile. Our first night, we arrived late because out flight got delayed so the front desk staff ordered dinner for us. The front desk staff also reccomend wonderful places to eat and things to do when our tour was cancelled due to potential rain (that never came). I would definitely stay here again read more

Standard room, very clean and nice staff. You get a free buffet breakfast in the morning and it's located right next to a market with great food choices and a little art gallery. It's also located right next to a hospital and grocery store. This is a good value, especially because it's very clean and you get everything you need. We stayed here for one night, as we are going to a wedding further away for the next couple of days. Checked in late with reservation. After 20 min check in, we received our room number. We noticed the room has been cleaned by housekeeping, however the shower was used. It appeared as if someone got in, used the shower and left. We were all so tired from the flight that we didn't want to drag the kids back down and wait for another room. We certainly complained to the manager in the morning and he offered an apology. We only stayed one day and went to another hotel. The view is the main highway and the food was a typical Cabos Hampton breakfast. Nothing special other than it's the lesser room price than the other Hilton. read more

For the price we paid per night this was a really nice hotel. The free Continental breakfast was very good the cooks made was very delicious. The housekeepers and the staff were very nice and helpfull. They share a location by a hospital which is nice if anyone were to get hurt during your trip. There is also a little restaurant strip Mall thing that you can walk to right next-door without having to drive to. They have a rooftop pool, and a fitness center. There is also a free parking lot where you can park your car if you can have a rental. This hotel is not on the ocean or walking distance from one. So if you're looking for a hotel that you can basically walk to the beach this hotel is not for you. However if you are looking for a reasonable price Hotel which is in a group rate location to get to a lot of other stuff this one is perfect. It's within driving distance to downtown Cabo, beaches, and isn't far from the SJD Cabo Lucas airport. It's also on the bus line if you wanted to take a bus. I would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely be staying at this place again if we ever go back to Cabo. read more

The hotel is good. The price was right. The breakfast was fine. The pool was closed and was not noted on app when booking for my trip. Looking at a past review it sounds like it was time for an upgrade. Nice little restaurant mall next door as well as a hospital (easy access to COVID test). Most of the staff was very nice. However, Arturo should not be working the front desk!. I am not sure if he was having a bad day the first visit to the front desk? He checked us in upon arrival confirmed that I had two king rooms reserved. One of the rooms had two queen beds. We brushed that off as everyone was tired. He also challenged me asking for a bottle of water at the front desk. As a diamond member in the US. Usually no issue on that request. Two nights before check out, we inquired about freezer to store vacuumed sealed fish, he would not look up from the computer screen and replied no. We only serve breakfast no freezers on property. Second question Arturo? Do you know the hours the hospital will conduct COVID test? No eye contact and look on his face like I was bothering him. No but you can go check. Can you call? Picks up the phone and says no answer? I swear he did not dial. He finally remembered he had a flier on hand for COVID testing site down the street. Pretty clean, staff are friendly and helpful but management should know and do better! Even if 2 people in the room only one bottle of water. The rooftop pool is nice touch but hazardous! Look at the floors very dangerous with holes and patched repairs. No one should sit on the rusty nasty lounge beds. Little to no sanitizing here. Bathrooms up there needed attention but they seem short staffed. You could tell these used to be nice areas but not now. Nice spa Manoma on site and it was reasonable, also Merkado has great food options. Ubers worked good for transport to downtown and malls, under 10 dollars, often was only, 5. Jazmins restaurant is a must in San Jose! Add a stop to the grocery store up the street, too dangerous to cross the highway on foot for water! Terrible room. Terrible service. Room was freezing and heater didn't work air-conditioner won't turn off. All the lights were broken. The bathroom door did not close. The closet door made tons of noise you could never open it, so we had to shove a ton of toilet paper on both sides of the metal and glass to try to buffer the sound.m. The safe didn't lock properly. The hot tub was never hot it was lukewarm and there were drunk people pouring ashes and cigarettes in it. Every night we were awoken to the neighbors next-door and every morning we woke up to the same neighbors. I don't know if they ever slept. The maid came in and expose my sister while she was in the shower. She left the door open and since neither of the bathroom door nor the shower door close completely everybody walking by in the hallway could see my sister until I could go and close the door.. Then we went to open the blinds and they just fell down and almost smashed my feet. On the last two nights there I would have a LED light turn on for no reason above my head and light up the room and blink on and off and on and off and there was absolutely no way to turn it off. I couldn't sleep a second without it turning back on and waking me up. I finally had to get up and take the back off of a maxi pad and stick it on the ceiling over the light just to get some peace. Yes a maxi pad. This is how bad it got. Every concern we had we brought down to the front desk and they did absolutely nothing. Instead they wrote a letter to the boss of my friend who gave us the discount through Hilton family and friends and told them That we were yelling at the staff because we didn't like the breakfast and we were yelling at the staff because they didn't have a bar. The hotel is attached to over 20 restaurants and bars and shops. There is a number of places that we could've went to have a drink there's no reason we needed to drink at the front desk. So they were lying about that plus there was a gas station connected to the hotel which we could've went to 24 hours a day if we needed some thing that they did not have. Simply just lying to cover their asses because they are not holding up to the standards of the Hilton properties. I would've never complained about the breakfast because being vegetarian vegan gluten-free there's nothing I could eat in there anyways. We grabbed some fruit and used their hot water and used the Wi-Fi to check our messages and my sister downloaded pictures on Facebook. If we have been yelling at the staff I'm pretty sure they would've called us out on it and made us leave or called the authorities. It is Mexico after all and they have zero tolerance for that kind of behavior. Instead of fixing the problems, they were aware that I would be contacting Hilton headquarters to find out why there were so many problems with our room and for them to come do a quality check on the hotel. I'm sure that was the moment that the manager decided to make a complaint about us being too loud about breakfast and a bar which is totally ridiculous because those are the ONLY two things that we did not complain about. The bottom line is if you were going to Cabo there is absolutely no reasons to stay at this hotel. There are plenty of Airbnb's that are very cheap and a much more reasonable price. They are everywhere. And there are tons of hotels in the area that would love to take your money and treat you like gold. Unfortunately this Hampton Inn is run by a bunch of shady Mexican people who were willing to do anything to take your money but not make you happy. And as far as I'm concerned that is not acceptable because Hilton standards should be Hilton standards. This place should be closed down. Or it should be sold to a different name meanwhile my friends boss chewed her out at work and now she's accusing me of acting like a total jerk while I was there. Which just couldn't be the further from the truth. I've started a claim with the Hilton and I put all my pictures together. Unfortunately the video that we did of the final walk-through to show Maintenance the 10 different things that were wrong with the room didn't get uploaded to my sisters car because she wasn't on Verizon like me. so she lost it. Of course but it doesn't matter anyways. I lost a friend. She got in trouble. And we stayed in a shit hole. Don't make the same mistake we did. read more
