I have been a Hilton Honours member for many years and try to stay at their locations when possible. This Hampton is way below the standard I've come to expect. In a word, it is worn. From the chairs in the tiny lobby to the floor coverings in the halls and the room, just tired. Some renovation has been done. The sink and fixture in the bathroom looks newer. However when we got here, the older toilet kept running. That was fixed after one call. The bed was good, but the overall room was small. No closet - just a chiffarobe. This place is disgusting, my first room had no a/c and the floor was "slippery" (god only knows from what). The 2nd room had a working a/c, hair from previous tenants all over the bathroom. Toilet running endlessly, took my morning shower and no soap or shampoo, stains in the tub. Needed to iron my clothes and the iron was filled with brown water and had mold! Three of my co-workers also checked in and all had issues. I will never stay here again! read more

Room was small and had no closet. Walking in on the sidewalk an overhanging thorn bush grabbed my finger and drew blood, no kidding. No shampoo in the room, Bottle completely empty. Water jug in workout room empty. juice machine at breakfast "out of order". Cream cheese says right on package "keep refrigerated" who knows how many days it has been out. I will probably get sick. Coffee grounds in the lobby coffee. Entire Floor in dining area sticky. Foreign dis-concerned staff. Stayed here because it's the only one close. Extremely unethical and slimy hotel. Had the dates and hotel booked for MONTHS, came to check in, my dates have been changed because they were trying to accommodate other guests that were trying to check in. I had an original reservation for 6/22-6/26 since March with receipts. I come in 6/22 they are confused if my reservation is under another name or what not, I find out my reservation had been moved a week later randomly on a Monday-Friday instead of Thursday-Monday. What had happened was they booked my room for someone else and changed my dates. The most discerning part is when I went onto to book, they still had the dates available 6/22-6/26 at a higher price. I'm unsure if it's corporate doing or this specific establishment but Hilton has put a negative taste in my mouth. Never again. read more

We needed a place to stay when visiting family and this was the closest Hilton, so we booked a night. We usually stay at Hilton branded hotels so that all of our points are in one place. This one fit the normal expectations I'd have for a Hampton Inn. The rooms had been recently renovated. It was on the cheaper side which is probably because of the location. If you're in the area and need somewhere to stay, this is a good option. read more

We are Hampton Inn regulars. I am kind of a germaphobe and I bring antibacterial wipes with me to clean door handles etc. We have had pretty good luck with Hampton Inns. Most that we have stayed in are either new or renovated. There is the occasional hair on the bed (yuck) but I can't even think about that or I would never leave my house. We checked in here at around 12:30 am. The older gentleman at the front desk was friendly. He offered us the gold member waters and cookies. We got to our room and it smelled a little musty. Soon found out that the musty smell was coming from the trash can which still had trash in it. The trash included an empty Coors can among other things. Can't believe the trash can was missed by the housekeepers. I then went to use the bathroom and found the little mound of hair by the toilet. Another miss. I think this Inn is a little older and it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. I'll probably never be in the area again but I was still a little disappointed. read more

Below average Hampton. It smelled like a nursing home. They were trying to cover up a musty smell with chemicals. Roof leaks I suspect. The pool heater was broken and a misspelled note was on the front desk counter. The window in my room was eerily frosted looking like a haunted house. See pictures attached. This is a bottom of the barrel Hampton. As a diamond member, 99% of the properties I visit are top notch. This one is the exception. 1 - odors. Room 205 was musty and smelled of whiskey and feet 2 - cleanliness- both ottomans had some substance on them. I don't know what it was, but I wouldn't touch it. The sink drain was clogged - just gross. There was a white scaly substance on the bathroom floor. This is one of those hotels that pulling down the sheets may yield some unsavory results. Shower needs to be re-caulked. The hotel has been remodeled but other than the lobby, the quality is really poor. 3 - safety - the hotel is surrounded by some cut rate properties. The parking lot seemed sketchy. I find when a Hilton property is surrounded by a Motel 6 or similar, they tend to take on the same tendencies, maybe the cleaning crew moves from hotel to hotel. I would not stay here again. Luckily I arrived late and am leaving early. I don't think I'll trust the breakfast buffet. The smell is just awful. Downgraded to 1. Low 1 read more

We stayed here twice, each time for a quick spot to rest on a long road trip. The office staff was very friendly each time. Our rooms were clean and we had no issues other than us being told they were queen beds and when they were really full size. They had a good breakfast in the lobby that was included in the price. Overall no complaints, this hotel worked for exactly what we needed, so I would recommend it. read more

Due to a system glitch on their part my reservation was completely changed. From July to the day I made the reservation and they wont refund my $194. Do they really need my money that bad. Family reunion coming up and this is one of the hotels recommended. Approx 30 people for 3 to 5 days. Refund my money. Your system, your issue. read more

I've stayed here many times over the years. On one occasion we stayed for a month. Staff is great! Location is also good, as it is right next to interstate. Our room has always been clean, indoor pool has been enjoyable, and free breakfast is ideal when traveling with children. read more

I recently stayed here for business. It's convenient to I-71, the staff were very friendly with me, but the hotel shows it's age--even after the latest Hampton renovation. Kinda shocked to see 2-3 star reviews on other sites, but find that this one lists it as a 5-star hotel (even considering location and franchise brand). The hotel staff were great about giving me an early check-in, and a room request on par with what I normally like. Sadly, the room was beat up. Scuffs on the wall, furniture that looks like it was used as a WWE prop, and bathroom grout that needs cleaned of mold. Best part about my visit was the easy access to I-71 to get out of there and get back home. read more

This hotel is under renovations, so you have to have an open mind when that is going on. Honestly though, I had no issues here. I stayed here for 3 weeks for work and I have to say that even with the reno going on, it was very clean and well maintained. The manger Kazim Hashmi, was awesome! He works long hours and seems like he's always there, but yet he was always in a great mood, very friendly and welcoming as well as a nice guy to chat with. I would recommend staying here. I know I would again if I'm ever in that town again. read more

No hot water, the tub had holes in I that wasn't repaired. The a/c didn't work. Because we booked through Kayak they would not give us a discount on our stay. We should have just left when we found that there was no hot water but the lady at the desk said we would get a discount when we checked out and she knew we booked through Kayak. read more

This location is right off the freeway next to Bob Evans and is a pretty new hotel and your standard Hampton Inn. I give this place 2.5 stars since the place was new but the room was a bit dirty, certain breakfast items tasted a little weird but the staff was all really nice. Note: the directions on Yelp doesn't take you to the hotel and know it is right off the freeway next to the Columbus Outlets. read more

If I could give this hotel less than 1 star I would, but you cannot and do a review! First as we checked in after driving for hours my traveling partner went to check us in as I was seeking the restroom. A man in the lobby was standing with his arms out blocking the way to the restroom saying outsiders not allowed to use the restrooms. We both explained we were checking in as he continued to block the hallway to the restrooms and my friend was standing there with our suitcases! Next the entire third floor smelled of cigarette smoke and musty, the bathroom sink in our room didn't drain and there were no channels working on the TV! We called the front desk numerous times and no answer so I went downstairs to ask about the TV etc! I was told they had called the tv provider but didn't know when it would be fixed. I asked about the sink drain problem and smell on third floor and was told maintenance wasn't available. We decided since we had checked in at 3:30 pm and it was 4:30 pm; and since the manager was making no effort to move us to another room and we had all these problems that we would check out and find another hotel! Also the pool is not temporarily out of service, it's torn apart and not likely to be working anytime soon! My suggestion is don't stay here! read more

Our son will be attending Ohio Wesleyan University in the fall (2014), which is only 8 miles/13 minutes away from this lovely hotel, so we have already stayed here twice so far. It is very NEWLY DECORATED with a contemporary decor and the staff is very friendly and accomodating (early check-in & late check-out for our last visit). During the first visit, we had a King room on the first floor and 2 queens on the 2nd floor the second time around. The rooms were spotless, the wi-fi was FREE and fast, and the bathroom was HUGE! They have an indoor pool with a hot tub next to their fitness center. Both were adequate and clean. Their breakfast was on par for a Hampton Inn, but since we do not eat pork, our kids REALLY APPRECIATED the turkey bacon and sausage that they served during both of our stays. (I don't know if this is normal or if we just lucked out) And of course, the fresh baked cookies every night... so simple, but such a nice treat. Regarding the location, it couldn't be better! It's directly off of I-71 with a Starbucks, Subway & Cracker Barrel all within walking distance. There is shopping less than 5 minutes down the road (Kohl's, Cato, GNC, grocery, etc) and there is a river nearby that has a park. My only compliant is the beds. They're new, but a bit on the firm side, and because I'm a bit curvier than the average gal, I toss and turn all night waking up with a back ache, but alas... we will return because everything else is so great and the price is just right (under $100, if you call directly to the hotel and ask for their best rate). read more

Probably one of my top 3 worst hotel experiences ever. Booked on the Hilton app and reserved a whirlpool king suite. Did online check in and digital key which worked great. Get to the room and door was ajar. Went inside and was confused to see a large room with a bed, desk, sofa and chair. No whirlpool in the room. Looked for a phone to call the desk and NO PHONE in the room. Husband Went downstairs and was told rooms were renovated and whirlpools were removed. Returned with three packs of candy for our "inconvenience". Definitely irritated but we aren't huge complainers so figured I'd address it later. Longer we were there the more issues we found. Toilet wasn't working properly. Literally overflowed in the middle of the night and water ran everywhere. Put drinks in the fridge to find that it was not working and was hot. Went to get ice which is only allowed on 1st floor and ice machine was moldy and nasty. One small trash can in the room which was located in the bathroom, no alarm clock, no hair dryer, no iron..... lighting was horrible. Was specifically told by one of the workers that this room should NOT HAVE been rented out and weren't even inspected. At this point I was over it. Contacted corporate once and will be doing so again. read more

I'm giving it a 5 star based on what you get for your money. This isn't a luxury hotel but they sure try hard to give you a great experience for the cost. CCI attendees take note: The room was clean, the complimentary breakfast had hot eggs, bacon or sausage, make your own waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit etc....we stayed for 2 weeks and didn't get tired of the variety. 3 minutes from Canine Companions training center and SUPER dog friendly with an area behind the hotel where there is plenty of room to take your pup. Pool was shallow and thus great for kids, bedding very nice. read more

NOT For Business Travelers I am a Hilton Diamond Level Honors member and stay 100+ nights per year on business travel. I booked the Hampton Inn Columbus/Delaware I-71 North in Sunbury, OH for 1 night. My travel plans changed, as they often do, and had to cancel that reservation. I called with over 24 hours notice but was told that they had a 48 hour cancellation policy. I spoke to the General Manager named Justin. According to him, he didn't have any authority so he had to call the owner. When I spoke to Justin again, he said that the owner would not change the cancellation policy, it didn't matter that I was Diamond status, or that I was going to stay at another Hampton Inn that evening. So my travel card got charged for 1 night + tax. My recommendation is that you NEVER stay at this hotel if you travel for business and your plans MAY change. A 48 hour cancellation policy is ridiculous and not business travel friendly at all. read more

Front desk clerk was the rudest I've ever met ! Checked in around 6 @ night, idiot at front desk said only room available was a double full. I asked for a king room or suite and was told NO I told you we're sold out this is the ONLY ROOM WE HAVE. After waking up and seeing a near empty parking I asked if they were full and was told no sir we have king rooms and king suites . Stayed here for work for 3 nights. I was tired from traveling and went almost immediately to sleep only to wake up in the middle of the night to find I had no soap at all anywhere in my bathroom. There was a single bottle of shampoo that I was able to use to wash my hands at least. The toilet tank was dripping loudly all night I finally put a washcloth in the tank to dampen the sound. When I tried to use toilet paper the entire toilet paper holder flew off (metal piece and all). There is no safe in the room, but there is a microwave and mini fridge which was nice at least. You can hear everyone and everything that goes on in the hallway (screaming kids at 10:30pm tonight). The first morning I came down for breakfast at 6am and by 6:15 they we're still trying to set up, so thank God there is a Starbucks in the parking lot next door. I booked to stay here next week, but I'm going to research other hotels in the area. It's a shame as my husband is a Hilton gold member so we always try to stay at Hilton chain hotels and this is my first disappointing experience at one. I did not get to use the pool or the gym so I cannot comment on these. read more

The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly at check in. Room was a good size with nice linens on bed. The flat screen tv was a nice modern feature as well. There was no tub, only a shower, but the shower head made up for that. We were missing a mirror on our wall. Everything was fine up until a a day or so after we checked out, we were checking our online statement an noticed a additional charge from Hampton inn for $50 was pending. We had a prepaid room reservation, so I did not expect to see any further changes. I immediately became concerned and called the hotel. The lady at the front desk assured me that the charge would drop off our account in 3-4 days and to call them back if it didn't. I have given my credit card for incidentals, but have never had funds held before because of this. They didn't explain this was standard procedure either. I think there must be a better way for the hotel to handle this. I'm sure I'm not the only one that called them wondering why they had an additional charge. Unfortunately, this makes me not want to return there. read more
