I'd like to give this place 3 1/2 stars, but I can't. I'll explain later why I had to deduct a star. I knew I was going to love this place when I was greeted by the golden retriever Dakota when we arrived. Yet another lovely pooch greeted us at the door, Miss Wrigley. Loved having the pets around. The garden and home are amazing. Really quite lovely. They also have a beautiful pool with lounge area and a lovely big porch in the front of the home. We stayed in the Berllan Glen room. It's gorgeous. Big bedroom area, very large bathroom area, and private porch. The pictures speak for themselves. Some folks may need a step stool to get into the bed :) The reason for the one start deduction is that I went to put my lingerie in the bureau. I saw a bunch of women's stockings all curled up inside in a drawer. I assumed someone forgot their clothes. Then I opened other drawers. They too were all filled. Then I went to the end table chest of drawers on both sides of the bed, they were full. I finally found a few empty drawers in the armoire with the TV. I also could not find a closet door that would open. I eventually figured out there were two rods to hang clothes on on either end of the armoire. I believe the lovely hostess should've told us that there were clothes in our room and where we could hang or put ours clothes away. I found it off putting and quite odd to have someone else's clothes in the furniture. I've since asked other friends and family and they too agree that is quite odd. Anyway, the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Lovely spread. Apparently, you can arrange for dinner at the home, but you have to let the innkeepers know in advance. The house is chock full of items for decoration and has a tiny little gift shop where I did purchase some private label Earl Grey tea that's quite yummy. As a very nice touch they do have complementary sodas, water, and snacks for the guests. One can also purchase wine, if desired. There is also a coffee bar and tea bar. I was so pleased to see a tea bar because so few places have that. My only small issue with that is that there's no milk available--only in the mornings when the coffee bar has their half-and-half out. I didn't realize they have "operating" hours. The innkeepers are available until 9 at night, unless an emergency. I finally figured that out on a card they left in the room on the bureau with fresh water. It's about a seven minute ride to the actual Town of Granville. The town is a must see! The Whit's ice cream is delicious. All in all, it's a lovely place, except for the fact that I had that issue with putting my clothes away. read more

I grew up in Granville but I unfortunately didn't know about this b & b until now. Our room is excellent and we are really enjoying our stay, even though it's just for the night. Jeff and Bobbie are great hosts and their property is amazing. This definitely feels like a mini vacation not too far from home Their two dogs are the cutest and give the whole place a homey feel. Our room has a standalone tub and a steam shower which is just fantastic. We will be coming back for sure! read more

I had an amazing stay here last weekend. My only regret is not staying another night. That statement is common among those who have had the pleasure of staying at the Welsh Hills Inn. We arrived and got a tour of the property. We immediately made ourselves at home, went on a nature walk, and got ready for our couples massage in the pool house. It was great..peaceful and relaxing. We stayed in the large suite downstairs. It was wonderful. Large, comfy bed, soaker tub, steam shower and screened-in porch. It was well worth it. We enjoyed wine and cheese on the porch before we headed into town for dinner. In the future I will reserve dinner at the Welsh Hills Inn. The breakfast was awesome so I can only imagine that dinner would be top notch. Bobbi and Jeff have a beautiful home and take care of all the little touches. When we arrived home from dinner they had put out fresh water and chocolates from a local chocolatier on the dresser. In addition to the amazing art collection, they have a little gift shop (sun room) that features local items like teas, preserves, soaps, glasswork and much more. There are many amenities to take advantage of...hot tub, pool, bocce, fire pit, bike rentals, fishing, shooting, hiking, fine cuisine, and others I'm forgetting. We will 100% return to this inn. When can we go back? I just returned home, but I am already looking forward to our next visit. We celebrated my birthday there this past weekend, and it was an amazing time. We wanted to go somewhere that was relatively close but still felt like a proper getaway. Although a few hours away from home, we felt like we were worlds away. We drove on a late Friday afternoon, and the scenery around Granville is beautiful. There had been some snow that week, so the fields, trees, and homes were covered with a white blanket. It felt so peaceful as we made our way up the driveway, past the paddock and up to their gorgeous home on top of the hill. We were impressed before we stepped inside the house. The beauty of the outside of the home is matched by the beauty inside the home. Every room is filled with original artwork and collectibles. I found myself admiring paintings on every wall. But none of it is overwhelming. There's just the right amount of balance to allow your eyes to wander and discover something new in each room but not feel as though the place is cluttered. The home is clearly lovingly decorated. The innkeepers, Bobbie and Jeff Noe, are fantastic hosts. What impresses me is the attention to detail and the little things they did to make our visit more pleasant - ice water waiting for us in our rooms each evening was most welcome. And unlike a hotel, if you used the water, you weren't charged 5 dollars :) (I just love it when hotels have Aquafina in the rooms for you, don't you? Argh!) The wine and cheese each evening was a special treat. I've had wines from Penfolds, so I was glad to see some familiar choices with the Koonunga Hill. I was also happy to discover the True Grit, which Jeff said was a favorite of his. I don't think he chose it because I'm an English professor, but who knows! I also appreciated their concern for my allergies - my husband had let them know about my down allergies as well as my food allergies. I never had to worry. I'm always concerned when I travel about this, so it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy my visit without the worry of "Will this send me to the hospital?" The breakfasts were delicious and filling. The fruit and yogurt was yummy; I'm not usually a plain yogurt fan, but I really loved what they served. Each morning we had a different main course, but the true treat was that they made chocolate chip and coconut pancakes for my birthday. My husband had mentioned it when we first arrived - that he made them for me - so they decided to give it a try. Yum! In fact, they were even better, because they were served with fresh raspberries and cream. Our hosts recommended some great places to visit and shared with us some good choices for dinner. We loved Nona in Granville as well as the Chop House in Newark, where we saw John Hiatt and Lyle Lovett play at the Midland Theatre. We shopped at the Grand View Mercantile, where we found two sets of amazing glasses and the really big find: a red leather chair and ottoman. The chair and ottoman are Reid Leather, and retail for about 3k total. We bought them for such a bargain I'm ashamed to mention it here. At night, we sat in the pool house, with its fireplace and flat screen tv, where we enjoyed our wine, cheese, and the company of the family dog. I felt a bit guilty leaving our dogs at home, so it was nice to have some canine companionship. Everything about the visit was perfect. I highly recommend this place. I think I blathered enough about it. Time to get back to grading papers! read more

My family and I stayed here this summer for a night. Everything was fabulous. The evening wine and cheese. The gun range for my husband and son. The outdoor swimming pool with tunes playing softly in the background. All of it! Delightful. The next morning, coffee ready and breakfast served. We loved our stay for our 10th anniversary. As we drove up to the Inn we were greeted by one of the two loving family dogs. She walk us to the door where we were greeted by Jeff. Bobbi his wife was just finishing the cleaning of our suite. We had a great time talking and playing with the dogs. Jeff the took us on a tour of the Inn culminating in our wonderful suite. The personalized touches including a beautiful breakfast, wine in the evening before we went to dinner and even a bottle of bourbon left on the beverage bar gave us the feeling that we were being treated to some personal attention by experience B&B owners. Stayed here for our 20th anniversary and what can we say but amazing. Jeff and Bobbi are wonderful host and make everyone feel like you are a part of their family. There is so much to do at the inn. There is a heated pool, hot tub, darts, boccie ball, hiking trails, bikes, clay shooting, massages, wrap around porch with lots of rocking chairs, board games or take a ride into town which is 10 minutes away. Granville is a great little town that you must check out. The breakfast the next morning was wonderful. The two dogs Elli and Wrigley are great host too. The two of them stuck by our side most of the time we were there. This is a great gem of a place. read more

I stayed here for 3 nights with my fiance as pre-wedding getaway and we absolutely loved it! From the warm cookies at night to the wine and cheese in the afternoon, Bobbi and Jeff take care of every single detail you could imagine. The food was the best we ate in Granville (and we tried several places!), the pool was relaxing, the dogs were friendly and the bike rentals made for a fantastic day trip.
