Solid option for Hampton Inn. US properties lack the pizazz of some international HIs, but they make up for in service. Okay, let's be honest... what other hotel lets you start your day with a giant photo of a golden retriever? If that doesn't start your day off right, I dont know what will. Decent breakfast offering. Blueberry waffles? Yes please. Would stay again.

Having second thoughts picking Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn here in Union City, since its sister company, location location, next to each other. I picked Hampton Inn. Very friendly staffs, typical breakfast and its. free! Price is reasonable. Beds are comfortable, clean.

First of all, i didn't expect much about this hotel, it was one of the choices for my brothers wedding around the area. Yesenia, the receptionist/Front Desk associate was very personabe and helpful. She made sure we were accomodated by the time we checked in. She also gave us bags with water for the day. i mean, its not alot but the cleanliness of this hotel impressed me. I've been to alot of small/inn hotels, it's either, it stinks, outdated, dirty and smells weed. However, this hotel passed my expectations for hospitality and cleanliness. Thanks to Rosa, shes cleaning the first floor while we were eating in the lounge since we had ordered food for to go.... lol! My room too was clean. I hope they maintain this kind of service. Thank you, Yesenia and Rosa.

First time visiting a new site- booked this on a business trip- could not understand why it was so much less expensive than staying close to Redwood City- across the bridge(s). I quickly understood post making that morning and afternoon commute. Great location, amenities, mini fridge/microwave, free hot breakfast, free parking etc. Great if you are doing business in Union City.

It was so easy to find after exit freeway. It's located next to big shopping center. We stayed after open 100% from covid. Room was 2 queen size bed. They have refrigerator and microwave. It helps so much due to close restaurants close early. They have a pool but no hot tub. Breakfast buffet was closed but they provided us some muffins, bagels, apple juice, yogurt and energy bars. Of course free fresh brewed coffee and bottle water. All staffs are so nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

Hotel and room are very clean. Good hot breakfast with many choices. Receptionist and manager are very helpful and kind. Pool is very warm. Gym room equipment / tv working fine. Walking distance to many restaurants

    Spacious.

I was driving and REALLY needed to stop for the night. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The room was much nicer and more spacious than I had been expecting. I was so grateful to have a safe, comfy place to relax after a very stressful drive! The room was very clean. They had all the mod cons, including fridge and microwave. The walk-in shower was great.

Hope you don't like privacy while you use the bathroom because there's a whole where the lock should be

Some of my work locations are in Oakland, but I don't wanna stay too close in Oakland for obvious reasons. Oakland was the only In N Out location to ever close due to crime in the parking lot! So, Union City it is! This location is super easy freeway access just off the 880 at the Alvarado Niles exit. Speaking of In N Out, there's one right across the street from this hotel! Check in was easy, no problems, got my rewards points posted, and got my room no prob. Friendly staff and clean hotel. It has all the usual amenities, but I'm not gonna get a chance to use the pool or gym, gotta do my work. Speaking of work, the WiFi was working no prob and a decent speed. The desk was comfortable as was the bed. The bathroom was clean and no stray hairs not my color laying about. The water pressure in the shower was good and endless hot water. The free breakfast was up as usual, and the same food basically as all the IHG Holiday Inns. Eggs, omelet folded thingys, bread to toast and hot coffee and juices. I can't forget those fab cinnamon rolls at all the Holiday Inn Expresses! I usually get breakfast early when they put it out and go back to my room to eat and be on the internet. So, far, this stay is fine and I'd stay at this location again.

During our stay, one of the buses in our group accidentally blocked a vehicle. As soon as we were notified, we immediately worked together to move it and resolve the issue. We apologized and made every effort to cooperate. Despite that, management's response felt excessive and unprofessional. Instead of working with us after the issue was corrected, we were effectively pushed out. To make matters worse, when I returned to collect my belongings, my key had already been deactivated. The receptionist saw me and knew who I was, yet failed to mention that my room access had been removed. The property itself was also difficult to overlook. Much of the parking area appeared to be occupied by construction materials, shipping containers, piles of lumber, discarded mattresses, debris, and renovation equipment. The parking lot looked more like an active construction site than a place prepared to accommodate paying guests. I fully acknowledge that the blocked vehicle should not have happened. However, we took responsibility, fixed the situation immediately, and apologized. What I cannot overlook is the lack of communication, lack of professionalism, and the way paying guests were treated after making every effort to cooperate. Was also told they don't let trucks park in their lot as well... but there's a truck clearly parked.... I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it based on my experience.

The shared microwave is definitely a downside to the hotel, as I really wish they had personal ones in each room readily available. They also have a Starbucks located in the first floor, but l've noticed that their staff never arrives at their opening time (6AM?) as advertised by the front desk. As for the rooms, they have their own mini fridge which is great for short stays. I can definitely overlook the two downsides of this hotel as The Courtyard is conveniently located next to restaurants/fast food chains and I can easily drive a couple minutes to the Starbucks nearby. P.S. Hopefully this hotel will look into fluffier pillows because their pillows are a little flat and stiff, but not at all unbearable.

I hadn't earned miles through my Asia Miles account for close to 18 months. If I had not earned miles by May 30 all the miles I earned through Asia Miles will reset to zero. One of their partners is Courtyard by Marriott. I reserved a room for two nights during Memorial Weekend. The reason I booked Courtyard Newark Silicon Valley was due to the swimming pool as I needed something to do on my staycation. I came here Saturday afternoon. The guest room is spacious enough. The bed was really comfy. The staff was really nice. The lobby was clean and organized. I even like the Keurig coffee machine inside the room that had some coffee pods. There's a cafe opened in the morning when you can buy coffee and hot food. Despite all the positive attributes of this Marriott I gave the rating I did because I came for a staycation. After I checked-in on a Saturday afternoon I tried to swim in the swimming pool. Noticed I said "tried", but the swimming pool was cold. I ended going to the whirlpool. The next day on a Sunday I came back to the swimming in the afternoon. I noticed the debris from trees in the pool. There are a lot of trees around the pool. With the abundance of trees this pool needs to be cleaned constantly. During my stay there not only was the pool cold but also dirty. If I had to stay at another Courtyard by Marriott it wouldn't be here.
