I was able to use there gym that included a water station, towels and disinfectant wipes. It was very clean and good airflow throughout. I didn't use the pool but it's indoor and near everything downstairs. They provide a great buffet breakfast every morning and include several options for a perfect breakfast. The room was comfortable, on the second level where the self serve laundry room is. I mean you have access to many amenities which is a great value for the price we paid for this hotel. It's steps away from the local Lucky's, several restaurants, Starbucks, shopping, and a Cinemark movie theater. Yes the hotel is dated but it's still the best one to stay at when in Hayward or Union City. First of all let's start with the most helpful staff ever. They assisted me with everything with a big smile. They made me feel like an important guest so thank you (at least 5 employees since I was there for 4 days for business). Hotel location is in Union City but boarderline of Hayward. Safe area but crooks love rental cars so make sure you do not leave anything in the car. Parking at the hotel is free but shared parking with Holiday Inn hotel. Located near plenty of walking distance restaurants like In N Out, Jolibees, Smart/Final, Burger King, etc. Right near the 880 freeway. Love the free hot breakfast. As nice as the other Hampton Inn meals. And yes that staff is helpful too. There are apples and snacks available in the common areas. Rooms are dated but seems to be quiet. I felt I did not hear anyone else unless I was lucky. Price is extremely reasonable. I think I paid $140 daily. I saw there was an indoor pool and a printer which is a nice ammenity. First of all, i didn't expect much about this hotel, it was one of the choices for my brothers wedding around the area. Yesenia, the receptionist/Front Desk associate was very personabe and helpful. She made sure we were accomodated by the time we checked in. She also gave us bags with water for the day. i mean, its not alot but the cleanliness of this hotel impressed me. I've been to alot of small/inn hotels, it's either, it stinks, outdated, dirty and smells weed. However, this hotel passed my expectations for hospitality and cleanliness. i like staying at Hampton - the rooms are always clean and the reception desk is always super friendly. This one is in Union Landing Shopping Center, so there are plenty of places to go to eat that are within walking distance. They also offer you free buffet breakfast, which is always nice. There is a fairly good selection and the breakfast area was kept clean. read more

This is probably one of the best hotel options in Union City. Check-in was quick. The front desk was mediocre service. I stayed here on a Monday night and parking was plentiful around 4pm. As I returned after dinner, I only saw a few parking spots open. It's a bummer that the parking is shared amongst two hotels, making it a little difficult to find parking if you arrive later in the evening. Location is great. Accessible from the freeway and located in Union Landing with plenty of food options that are walkable. The room was pretty clean. The common areas were surprisingly pretty clean as well. The bed was pretty comfortable. My only complaint is having the fire alarm go off around 8:30pm. It kept going off and we didn't know what was going on. We walked to the lobby and found out that some random guy came in and pulled the alarm. It was quite an inconvenience and the front desk couldn't get the alarm to go off for quite some time. They weren't apologetic whatsoever. Breakfast was your basic cereal, eggs, pastries, fruit, and make your own waffles. I didn't eat the food, but it's a free option if you're staying at the hotel. My most recent stay was for the weekend while visiting family who live in the area. Overall we had a good experience Check In: As a Hilton Honors member, I used the Hilton App to check in and the mobile key on my Android. The mobile key worked flawlessly throughout my stay and also gave me access to the workout room. Great stuff Room: The room met my expectations for a Hampton Inn. The room was clean, TV worked and the Bathroom was on point. The beds were comfortable and we had no issues falling asleep. Front Desk and Gym: We stopped by a couple of time to pick up snacks and checked out with the friendly front desk staff. The snack and drink selection was limited but all good. The Gym equipment all seemed pretty brand new. The Dumbells and benches were in great condition. In the morning, we stopped by for their complimentary breakfast. The scrambled eggs and sausage patties were freshly made. The coffee and Tea selection was great. We weren't at the property much as we were out and about with the fam. It was so easy to find after exit freeway. It's located next to big shopping center. We stayed after open 100% from covid. Room was 2 queen size bed. They have refrigerator and microwave. It helps so much due to close restaurants close early. They have a pool but no hot tub. Breakfast buffet was closed but they provided us some muffins, bagels, apple juice, yogurt and energy bars. Of course free fresh brewed coffee and bottle water. All staffs are so nice and helpful. Highly recommended! read more

This was not a flawless stay, but this hotel still gets five stars. The first room we were assigned had a broken window lock (it could not be locked). I went down to the front desk and got a genuine apology from the woman at the desk, and was give a different room. The second room we were assigned had a missing smoke detector (looked like it might have been in the process of being repaired/replaced) and the secondary lock didn't work. I called the front desk, and the woman there apologized profusely, and said that a replacement room would be assigned, a staff member would personally check that everything was in working order, and would deliver the keys to us. Sure enough, 5-10 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. The lady gave us our keys, assured us that everything had been double-checked for us, and apologized profusely for the issues. She took photos of the missing smoke detector and a video of the lock... then went over and took photos of the window in our first room. All was well in our third room. After about 15 minutes, we got a call from the lady who moved us to the third room. She was checking to make sure that we were doing OK in our new room (which we were). She then said that they'd be comp'ing us a night for all the trouble. We've stayed in plenty of hotels, and occasionally we have to move due to a maintenance issue. Stuff happens. Things don't always go perfectly. Having to be moved twice was certainly a "first" for us... but the hotel employees handled it perfectly. They seemed genuinely apologetic that we had experienced these issues and quickly worked to make things right. Admittedly, when all of this was going on, I was very tired after just having finished a 9-hour drive. It probably wouldn't have taken much to make me cranky. Even in my tired state, I was happy with how we were treated. We didn't ask for any compensation for the trouble. We probably would have just mentioned the issues in the guest survey. The fact that the hotel's management proactively reached out with this generous accommodation means a lot. read more

*WARNING!!* Don't stay here! This is a very poorly run business with terrible customer service, they will lie to you and rip you off! First off, I was looking to book 9 rooms for a group and they wouldn't give me a group rate. I was in contact with the Sales Specialist Ivy. She took 4 days to return my email and then simply said she wouldn't accommodate my group. Against my better judgement I booked the 9 rooms on their website. Each room was listed at about $150, once booked and charged the room came up to $221. I emailed Ivy and asked why to charge was so high. She told me to call the front desk and talk to Brandon. I got Brandon on the phone and he reassured me that each room had a $50 deposit and we would get that back after checkout. When we all checked out there was no refund of a deposit. I went back to the hotel on behalf of my group. I spoke to the front desk and the hotel manager. The front desk explained the extra charges came from a third party like Priceline. But I booked directly from their hotel website. So the website was misleading. Eventually the front desk girls called the manager. I spoke to him over the phone and he didn't seem to care to remedy the problem. So my whole group paid $221 for a room that shouldn't been $150. I'm left embarrassed for my group, ripped off and completely unsatisfied. Which is ironic because at the front desk it says, "Hampton Inn 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back!" What a fraud. Honestly there are plenty of other places to stay in the area that won't cost you $221! read more

I was in bed and in need of water because I wasn't feeling well. I called the front desk asking for someone to please bring me a complimentary water. The man who answered told me he didn't have anyone to bring it and he couldn't leave the front desk. He advised I get out of bed and come get it myself. I was shocked he didn't offer to bring it given the circumstances and I seriously have doubts he was the only worker in the entire hotel. I forced myself out of bed and made my way downstairs only to see several workers prepping for breakfast across form the front desk. I asked the gentlemen again why he could not bring me a water after seeing other workers were present. He said "We usually don't do that." I informed I was not happy with those responses as a paying Hilton Honors customer and called customer service. Customer service was not helpful either. I asked for a customer service manager who essentially supported the poor customer service. I asked if I needed towels, would they make me come downstairs to get those too? She avoided answering the question so I put her on speaker, called the front desk and asked the gentlemen the same question so she could hear. He told me he could bring me towels. So I asked, you can bring me towels and not complimentary waters?? Makes no sense. The customer service manager then says, "Well sir you don't need towels." I explained I actually did need more towels and told the front desk to please bring the towels. They never brought the towels either. After waiting 20-30 minutes for the towels...I packed up and left early than what I needed to extremely frustrated. Horrible experience & extremely poor customer service across the board. Pros: Really enjoy the location of this hotel. The breakfast is always good. It's not continental which is a huge plus, but they do have some food options in that style if you prefer. We really appreciated being able to check in through the app and having access to a digital key rather than a key card. The hotel is also very clean and you can smell how clean it is when you walk in. The rooms were tidy and well kept as well. Cons: The sofa bed was hideous and very uncomfortable. We didn't even use it as a bed but rather left it as a couch and it was just terrible and not easy to sit on. The king bed , while spacious, was as stiff as a board. I woke several times in pain with lower back and neck pain. I couldn't get and stay comfortable what so ever and that was a total bummer. read more

I don't know if I should be blaming my experience on this hotel but since we live in a scary world and unfortunately, a lot of hotels are involved in human trafficking and I felt the need to write this review. I stayed at this place for one night with my parents and it was not the best experience. I booked our room online and we arrived close to 9 pm to check in. Right when I entered the hotel, I immediately got bad vibes. We checked in, got to our room and put our belongings down. My mom and I decided to go back to the lobby to get tea. We get there and the hot water ran out so I tell the guy working at the front desk and he said he will get more and it will take about 10 minutes. So my mom and I sat on one of the sofas in the lobby and these two guys (a short Latino and an average height black man) kept walking in and out of the lobby and they kept looking at me. They were walking the halls, by the elevator and at one point they went outside to the entrance of the hotel and were talking to each other and would look over at me. I get the WORSE feeling in my stomach. The front desk clerk eventually comes back and I tell my mom to hurry and let's go because I'm scared. At 3 am, we get woken up to someone knocking RAPIDLY on our door AND they were trying to open it by messing with the door handle. I fucking froze..... my mom yells out "who is it? What do you want?" And they keep knocking. My dad then starts shouting at them and they stopped and said "oh..... sorry, we got the wrong room" and I believe they stopped because they heard a man's voice. We never looked out the peephole to see who it was but that was a crazy experience. Please be aware of your surroundings!!! read more

Stayed here for a company trip recently. Breakfast was fantastic! Pool was warm. There is tons of restaurants and entertainment nearby. Area seemed very safe despite some homeless traffic observed. My room was HUGE and they had all the amenities. Very quick service despite only having one staff member on at a time. I would definitely stay here again. Only negative I can think of was that they had minimal parking due to the ongoing construction of the hotel next door. read more

There is a lot of good about this hotel for the price: Comfortable beds, clean rooms, friendly staff, proper continental breakfast, nice rooms, really nothing bad to say about the place. That's why I do not give them 1 star. Here is why I cannot currently rate them above 2 stars: I booked here because they have an indoor pool and this is a deal-breaker for my son when he stays with me. Just necessary to break up the monotony of his stay. The Covid procedure post 'opening up of California' is overly restrictive. Despite the large pool area and ease of physical distancing in that space, they only allow one party at a time and it must be booked in advance with hour time slots per party. The desired time slots were not available during my two-night stay. In addition, the last slot is at 7:00pm. How does someone that works a day shift supposed to get in there by 7:00pm? What purpose does it serve to close that early? LATER UPDATED TO 3 STARS Now that I am not as upset about the pool rules, I had to bump up my rating to 3. They extended a 5:00pm late check-out so I can work before going to the airport. That is very nice. Really a nice place to stay if they just refreshed their strict pool rules. read more

I love Hilton hotels, if you read any of my reviews you'll notice that I stay at Hilton hotels only. The reason being is you're going to find a very clean hotel, great staff and overall just well thought out plan of making sure travelers feel comfortable staying the night. On my initial check in because I lost my wallet and received a new credit card, I was not aware that the credit card company was going to limit my purchases to only $100 at a time so there was a lot of confusion and frustration on my behalf on check in, however The very helpful young lady at the front assured me she was going to figure it out and was going to make sure that I was able to at least have one night there and to figure out the issue the next day. She did just that and also help me figure out that my credit card company only allowed $100 each purchase and so she made each purchase hundred dollars until it was fully paid. Now that is excellent customer service! Who self is next to an outdoor mall, so finding food a movie or any type of shopping you want to do is only a walk away. Very very convenient. Next-door there is also a indoor skydiving facility if you're into that kind of thing. Very Close to the freeway but you do not hear any of the noises from the rooms. The beds are very comfortable the shower is very clean TVs are actually large. I had the chance to eat breakfast here every morning and I will say very typical of a Hilton Hampton Inn breakfast, tasty and well prepared. I did also get a chance to use the gym every day, it is small but has all the basic things for you to get your exercise while you are traveling. Do wish that they had headphones like some of the Hilton properties do. I also had a chance to swim every day in their indoor pool, which is heated! The only recommendation to the hotel is their towels are very small, these towels are typically used in the gym to wipe away sweat, not to use in a pool. I would say parking was plentiful, if you were to park in the neighboring hotels parking but parking is limited and is free though. read more
