VERY disappointed!! I would NOT recommend staying here. I booked this place for my parents and myself (thankfully, for only one night) based on the positive reviews I found on Expedia. Contradictory to what I read, the property was NOT well maintained and many areas were not even clean. There were hand sanitizer stations positioned throughout the property, but all that I tried were empty. Paper towel dispensers were also empty. A general lack of attention to the basics.

Board with nails under the carpet

Checked-In today (July 16th 2019), we were told they had our reservation but did not have the room (King Executive Suite) available. The front desk said "she wasn't here" and it was not her fault. My wife then called the reservation line and tried to work it out with them which ended badly. She told my wife a supervisor was not available until my wife said that she would speak to one at the location, she then put her on hold to find one. My wife then spoke to a supervisor who was apologetic and nice, but said that he was not able to help them with a price match for a double queen room (which would not be able to lodge my family in) and that we would have to ask them at the front desk. However, he did say he would bring up the issue to the general manager and that they would contact us via email. Once again spoke back to the front desk (an hour later) and they priced one of the double queen rooms to what we would have paid for the king room and we ended up paying out of pocket for another adjoining queen room to make it work. Once we settled into the rooms my daughter stepped on a nail in her room (see pictures) which were sticking out of the ripped up (probably from a guests pet) carpet. We then brought it to the front desk's attention and that we needed to fill out an incident report. After an audible sigh (she has had an attitude since the incident with the booking of the room), she hands the paperwork to my wife and then looks around for a bandage and alcohol pad for my daughter and gives her a face towel to put over the nails. Does not come to see the issue with the carpet or the room... I've been staying at La Quinta's for over for the last 6 years going cross country and this is the WORST experience I have ever had with them.

My first experience here was good. My 2nd time here not so much.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. Our first room was #200 on the second floor, and the second I got in there it smelled horrible and the window was wide open and there was fingerprints all over the window and the AC was broken. Over viewing the room the beds looked like they weren't even made and there was still clothes from the last guests left in the drawers. Also the bathroom vent was hanging off. I called down, they gave us another room in #226 at the end of the hall and when we got in that room, we noticed that room also had the window wide open and smelled horrible and there was bugs all on the bed and in the tub. DISGUSTING. They were both serviced by the same housekeeper named "Danielle". I walked down to the front this time and they gave us a room on the bottom floor with $50 off our stay. Luckily she went and checked the room before we went in and yes it was better but the water that comes out of the tub looks like the color of pee. I got furious because we've been out driving all day because we are a military family and PCSing to NC and we have 2 kids and 2 dogs and we were just exhausted lugging everything into new rooms. I know it wasn't the front ladies fault cause they just see rooms as clean once the housekeepers mark them as clean. But COME ON HOUSEKEEPING, who's the head and supposed to check the rooms before marking them clean? I've been a housekeeper for a couple years and that just baffled me. This is horrible and especially during covid you would think these rooms would be thoroughly checked, cleaned and sanitized but obviously not.

BED BUGS!! We stayed one night. The next day husband and I realized we had been consumed by BED BUGS. Two weeks later we still have remnants of the bites. I had conveyed the bed bug problem on another review site. Response from someone at La Quinta apologized and asked if I had informed the front desk because they really should be made aware. Well we didn't inform them when we left because the bites hadn't shown up yet. In the interest of "informing" them so they can address it I called them. There wasn't a great response. The young man seemed asleep. I told him what room we stayed in and he asked if he could call me back in 10 minutes. He did not call back in 10. He called several hours later and left a message. I called him back next day and was told he wasn't in but that he would be back in the next day at 4:00. Still no call back. I called again and left a message for him to call me and still no call back.

My family & I came to stay at this hotel and got in around 5 pm. to find that the elevator was out. My husband had to carry my two year old, 2 suitcases, a pack n play & bag up 3 flights of stairs (one woman offered to help) We then came back to get settled in around 1115 pm to find that there were no pillow cases. No trash can for the room. No shampoo/soap/conditioner OR towels. We had to go to Walmart to BUY TOWELS & shampoo for our stay at 1 am. There were also no sheets/pillows/blankets for the pull out couch in our executive suite, we called down for some and when no one ever came my husband went back down and was told that they didn't have anything but the sheets that we needed. No extra pillows for our child to sleep with. Luckily I brought my own pillow and blanket for her to use when we were finally able to get her set up in her "bed". They did not bother to alert us before we came to the hotel that the elevators were out, they did not inform us that our room was not prepared properly, they did not even bring up the sheets when we asked or call us to tell us they didn't have everything we needed. They let us come down to ask and told us then. Highly unprofessional & inconvenient. ALSO. The way the room is set up, you can not see the TV from the couch- which is pretty flawed in my opinion. I have now paid a pretty penny for a half set up hotel room & had to spend more money to have the necessities that are supposed to be provided by the hotel. I suggest you find another hotel. Adding- the shower looks as if it has not been properly cleaned in QUITE some time. There is mold and build up all in the shower door tracks. It's quite disgusting and unsanitary. And the shower door handle is missing.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the La Quinta in West Monroe over the span of 4 years. We travel frequently to and from TX to SC. My family includes a dog and a child. I understand some people may have higher expectations or different needs than I do. However, in the experiences that I have had with this property, it is always a great choice. The room is clean, items stocked, towels smell faintly of bleach, which is reassuring during the pandemic. We are next to the elevator and the room is still quiet. My dog didn't bark, which is an indication of how quiet it is. The room is spacious and there is a chair, desk area, microwave and fridge area and TV. The bathroom is spacious as well and the shower was excellent. Beds were a little on the firm side, but super clean and welcoming. Overall, if you're just looking for a clean, spacious, safe and quiet place to stay while traveling through, I recommend this hotel. It is nice to bring my pet and not have additional fees or sacrifice comfort and safety. Oh, it was also quite convenient to have the little pantry store when we checked in at 9pm. It was a 13 hour travel day and we weren't hungry, but wanted a snack. Got a microwaveable cheeseburger, ice cream bar, pack of crackers and a soda for $7. SO convenient!

Find another hotel. Website said the room slept 5 when in fact it slept 4. Which wouldn't be a big deal....if there weren't 5 of us. . One elevator that was hot AF and filthy. The staff walk around like zombies and at one point I was in the elevator with two staff members who were swearing at each other IN FRONT OF MY CHILDREN!!!! Out door pool has like maybe 10 chairs, overflowing trash cans from the night before and zero towels, so you have to bring them down from your room. They don't have any cots and only two luggage carts so plan on carrying your luggage with you, waiting for the over crowded elevator, and then sweating your ass off while you listen to disgruntled employees bitch about other disgruntled employees. Sounds like a good time right?

14 weeks open. VERY VERY nice. I hope visitors help to take care of the place. Very pleasant rooms!!

Clean. Super friendly staff. Easy check in. Comfortable beds. Rooms are larger than most places I've stayed.

Other than the elevator being broken, our stay was nice. The room was clean and we had no issues. Front desk was very nice.

The best place to stay for a pet friendly hotel. Clean and not to expensive. Comparable to other hotels that are costly.

I had to request a new room since my company policy does not allow us to stay on the first floor. They were helpful in adjust to the accommodations I requested with the need to be off the first floor. The only thing I've noticed which is not their fault is that the water quality in west Monroe is poor. The water has a brownish tint to it and is quite discolored. The room did come with two water bottles, a fridge, and the linens were also clean and pillows were soft. The shower had an adjustable head so water pressure was fine. Breakfast in the morning was a standard Hilton complementary breakfast and gets the job done. All around I will be staying there again due to the location and cleanliness. It is near a few steakhouses like Texas Roadhouse and Logan's. It is also a few minutes away from duck commander if you are looking to check out a local site while in town. In my opinion it checks all the boxes minus the water discoloration which is beyond their control.

The swimming pool in August was always occupied and noisy with kids playing so if that bothers you get a room away from the pool because you will hear them. The breakfast was terrible. The parking lot was difficult to find, you have to drive through the gas station to get to it. If there was another way to get in there, not sure where it was.
