I always bring cleaning supplies/Clorox wipes along and I wiped down all areas the best that I could, but its not like I travel with a mop. I couldn't exactly clean the floors. The bathroom cleanup I did turned my wipes brown, when was the last time this room was actually cleaned? TV in the room was breaking, which management was aware of. FYI its not hard to replace a cheap tv with a new tv, not sure if management has ever heard of a site called Amazon, they sell tvs and cleaning supplies , just saying. On top of it there was a large group who took over the communal spaces , with lots of small children who they were too busy drinking to parent. The tiny bathtub sized "resort" pool was overtaken by the unsupervised children with giant floats. By a miracle these kids survived their pool takeover, it takes a moment for a child to drown. On top of it these people were slobs leaving garbage, toys, fishing poles, crab traps all over. We mentioned it to the woman working who did nothing about any of it. We left the resort and spent most of the time at the beach to avoid drama and stress , we made the best of it because we couldn't find another hotel with availability to pack up and leave to go to. Overall the place is dirty, obviously mismanaged or management is in over their heads who can know, and there are many other much cleaner places in the area to stay for the prices they are charging. Overall a shame and disappointing.

Although she gave an apology during check out, it did not mitigate the inconvenience and stress caused by the lack of communication and preparedness. I had arranged for a friend to stay with me, but due to the uncomfortable experience, she chose to stay elsewhere that night. This experience reflects a significant lapse in service standards. Professionalism, clear communication, and respect are fundamental expectations for any guest, and these were not met. As a result, I would not consider returning.

The bedroom only has 1 side table, the bed was super bouncy and high off the floor, pillows were horrible, the bathroom has no sink space and no electrical outlet or fan. I had to sit on the floor in the bedroom to blow dry my hair. At least they had a hairdryer. The ironing board was so old we could hardly use it without damaging our clothes. The AC works ok - it's pretty cool in the living room but the vent in the bedroom is small and doesn't cool well. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Our most recent visit was so memorable that I had to write a review and tell my fellow yelpers about this little gem. The Beaver Dam Creek House is not your typical snooty tooty bed and breakfast. Upon entering the door you are greeted by Summer, the friendly Golden Retreiver and official welcoming committee. She happily wags her tail and is thrilled to have new guests come and stay at the house. Jeanne, the owner is very friendly, mellow and full of great information about nearby restaurants, the best shopping, and where to go for great bargains. The home is tastefully beach themed and filled with all sorts of antique touches. Each room is unique and has a different feel. There are beautiful mirrors, refurbished and antique furniture, seashells, old wood paneling, gorgeous wall paper and crown molding. The home is also filled with all of the modern necessities like TV, cable, internet, dvd's, books, boardgames, magazines, and a jacuzzi. Everything is very clean and you get fresh sheets and towels on a regular basis. Our family has quite a few food allergies and Jeanne was extremely understanding and accommodating; Each morning we awoke to asparagus quiche, scrambled eggs, sausage, hot coffee with dairy and non-dairy creamer, orange juice, bagels with cream cheese and fresh fruit. She also kept fresh fruits, vegetables, pita chips and hummus for us, knowing that we were California health nuts. I've stayed at bed and breakfasts before but I've never experienced the kindness, hospitality and sense of "home" that Jeanne creates at Beaver Dam Creek House. Our family absolutely loved our stay and we plan to go back every other year to celebrate Thanksgiving at our favorite spot. It's perfect for laid back families like ours who enjoy the freedom of a less structured bed and breakfast with a home away from home feel.

So even though I was far from my home waters in California I was able to get on the water and see ducks and a great blue heron...very nice perk. The accommodations are very nice and Jeanne's friendliness and easy going manner helped to make our stay very pleasant. Jeanne is an excellent host and I can't wait to return! The WiFi is strongest in the kitchen area and is free.

They gave me a piece of paper about THE Internet, never saying that is the general resort Internet. So time wasting trying to make that work. Time wasting calling them to find out why not. Time wasting as they tell me to use the one on the back of the door. Time wasting as the one on the back of the door is incorrect. Time wasting to wait for the maintenance person. Time wasting as he discovered the modem in this room ISN'T the one the door indicates. Time wasting that the modem isn't even plugged in. Time wasting that for 2.5 hours, they couldn't get it to work. Time wasting informing the ladies at the desk who react less than a zombie robot would. Time wasting getting "tacos" at the Tiki Bar, as they were meat mush with salsa from a jar from the grocery story. It left me wondering, who are the rich people here who find an ounce of value belonging to this club? I accept the standards of an older resort but I do not accept the non-existent standards of an untrained staff, not having a checklist that the room function, including my outlet at the table so I could plug my computer in and work while sitting, and the vile slop they put out calling it carne asada "tacos". Counting the minutes until I leave in the morning.

Despite that at 3pm I texted their service about it and they wrote IN TEXT how they lowered it, they claim they don't regulate it. How ever all night long, I couldn't get the temperature below 70 degrees. At 5:30 am I texted the service. 15 minutes later they text me stating they lowered it to 62. I didn't read that message until 7:30 am. They completely deny regulating the temperature. We have a big argument about it, BECAUSE THEY'RE LYING. The owner Adriana, I think her name it, shows up to my room to state how the room temp was 68. YES AT 7:30 AM AFTER YOU ADJUSTED IT DUE TO MY TEXT COMPLAINT. DUH. She doesn't like that I pointed that out to her, and she wants to stomp her feet that I am being rude and she will not tolerate me being disrespectful to her, well I feel the same way liar. She will not leave MY ROOM, as I had already started to pack to leave and canceled the rest of the week which they agreed to refund me for. She is so stubborn that she held her one foot in the doorway so I could not close the door until she had her say in the matter. She thinks she owns the property and therefore doesn't have to leave MY ROOM. It's mine until 10 am, unless I am committing a crime. I literally had to close the door on her to get her out. I have all the proof in the world on text messages that they control the AC. I hope she saved $10 and appreciates my horrible experience and living with this review.

Even though Ocean View Terrace has a motel-y look in person, they got away from the kitsch for more chic- and hubs went with it. Not necessarily situated on the water, but the bay IS actually Ocean View Terrace's biggest selling point at this compact 'Inn' from across the street on Montauk Hwy in Hamptons Bays. There are other noteworthy features: our airy and cheerful room has modern plank flooring, eating area, walk-in shower, beds had clean super crisp white sheets, walls were clean, AC, small deck, WiFi, charging stations, cable tv and a few other amenities. Because of COVID, Ocean View implemented strict check-in guidelines to minimize the spread of germs and a few other protocols. All nice to hear. But we felt a lot of work went towards upgrading rooms and forgot about the kitchenette. Still clean, but the stove burners, were individually covered in aluminum foil and that wasn't a pretty sight. I almost don't mind staying in motel-y spots- but as long as it's styled nicely from head-to-toe, I'm in. Adriana the Inn keeper though makes sure Ocean View's grounds are entirely well-kept in this little gem- and she's so sweet! Plus the office is also modernized, crisp and coastal. Again...If they just would've kept a keen eye on the kitchenette that's all. This is the smallest room we've stayed in ever. And at almost $400 a night- for 4 nights (yep)....... this is the Hamptons after all.

She was supposed to get back to me right away, but after 3 emails I finally got an email back at the end of Feb, that she was on vacation, didn't have any information, because she was waiting on a call back, and she would get back to me on Feb 28th. She could have emailed me before she went on vacation to tell me that..but nope. The morning of Feb 28th I sent one last email expressing how I was coming out to the Hampton's the next weekend to book and put a deposit on a venue, and I looked forward to her response as she promised, later that day...nothing! I have still not heard back from her, and today is March 6th!
