We went for a comedy show and it was awesome! I love this venue and will definitely be back for other events they have coming up. We saw Joe Devito the night we went, and for those who don't know him, he is hysterical! He's also such a nice down to earth guy who hung out with us for a while after the show. He talked to us, took pictures with us, and was just like one of us! I also liked the fact that when I took a picture with him, he wasn't that much taller than me! He's so cute and very, very funny! The entire staff that night was also awesome, very friendly and seemed to really have fun that night as well. We will definitely be back :-)

May 232425, and the morning of our departure to Jfk-Quogue, my sister in law became sick. At 4 am we called to cancel or get a credit to come later./ She was admitted to the hospital later that day. Sadly the Quote club would not give us a credit for future stay, sticking by their 21 day cancellation policy. We totally understand that policy, however with this occurrence, we would have loved the chance to come later with 800.00 towards our future stay. Lost a very unhappy customer, we will not be coming now or in the near future. Sick in Los Angeles

So, we grabbed them and went to our room. Strange check in. For the price you pay for this place, you'd think it would be more comfortable. The living room couch is old and uncomfortable, the WiFi isn't great, the ice bucket had bugs in it, but the kitchen was clean enough. The bedroom only has 1 side table, the bed was super bouncy and high off the floor, pillows were horrible, the bathroom has no sink space and no electrical outlet or fan. I had to sit on the floor in the bedroom to blow dry my hair. At least they had a hairdryer. The ironing board was so old we could hardly use it without damaging our clothes. The AC works ok - it's pretty cool in the living room but the vent in the bedroom is small and doesn't cool well. Needless to say, we won't be back.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (although they weren't able to offer a later checkout which was a bummer because our last day was the only one with decent weather), but we were really pleasantly surprised. The cottages are the perfect amount of space (we had 5 people, 2 in each room and one on the pullout couch. Originally we were going to get a suite for 4 people with a cot, but they let us know that for the same price we could do the option we did which was really nice of them to let us know. There was plenty of room for everyone and the room was extremely clean and felt like it was recently redone! The only issue we had was that the hot water ran out pretty quickly (which with 5 people showering, was expected, but we had to shower pretty spaced out in order for everyone to have hot water). The cottage was pretty well stocked (the only thing we really had to ask for more of was towels. I'd recommend buying or bringing an extra pot or pan if you plan on cooking a lot, which we did. We brought seran wrap and plates and paper towels which made things easier. The oven was also a little tricky to work as it had no temperature gauge, but that might not be in all of the rooms or cottages. The A/C was in perfect working condition. The property itself was awesome - pool was clean and a good size with plenty of chairs and the water toys (paddle boats, kayaks, etc) were in great condition and we had help getting everything in to the water. There are picnic tables on the bay as well (we had a great view of the sunset from there). Stop and Shop was pretty close driving so that was helpful too if you plan on using the kitchen. It was a bit of a drive from town so I would definitely recommend coming with a car as ubers and cabs are expensive there, but it's not totally necessary (We were able to get an uber a few times with no too long of a wait). Overall a great experience and place to stay at a very reasonable price!

Our most recent visit was so memorable that I had to write a review and tell my fellow yelpers about this little gem. The Beaver Dam Creek House is not your typical snooty tooty bed and breakfast. Upon entering the door you are greeted by Summer, the friendly Golden Retreiver and official welcoming committee. She happily wags her tail and is thrilled to have new guests come and stay at the house. Jeanne, the owner is very friendly, mellow and full of great information about nearby restaurants, the best shopping, and where to go for great bargains. The home is tastefully beach themed and filled with all sorts of antique touches. Each room is unique and has a different feel. There are beautiful mirrors, refurbished and antique furniture, seashells, old wood paneling, gorgeous wall paper and crown molding. The home is also filled with all of the modern necessities like TV, cable, internet, dvd's, books, boardgames, magazines, and a jacuzzi. Everything is very clean and you get fresh sheets and towels on a regular basis. Our family has quite a few food allergies and Jeanne was extremely understanding and accommodating; Each morning we awoke to asparagus quiche, scrambled eggs, sausage, hot coffee with dairy and non-dairy creamer, orange juice, bagels with cream cheese and fresh fruit. She also kept fresh fruits, vegetables, pita chips and hummus for us, knowing that we were California health nuts. I've stayed at bed and breakfasts before but I've never experienced the kindness, hospitality and sense of "home" that Jeanne creates at Beaver Dam Creek House. Our family absolutely loved our stay and we plan to go back every other year to celebrate Thanksgiving at our favorite spot. It's perfect for laid back families like ours who enjoy the freedom of a less structured bed and breakfast with a home away from home feel.

So even though I was far from my home waters in California I was able to get on the water and see ducks and a great blue heron...very nice perk. The accommodations are very nice and Jeanne's friendliness and easy going manner helped to make our stay very pleasant. Jeanne is an excellent host and I can't wait to return! The WiFi is strongest in the kitchen area and is free.

Truthfully though, my biggest summer hangups have been staying in a hotel, going to the beach and making sure no one is hovering over me. But I bent a bit and felt more at ease with taking a long weekend trip- especially since New York pandemic numbers are looking all right. Even though Ocean View Terrace has a motel-y look in person, they got away from the kitsch for more chic- and hubs went with it. Not necessarily situated on the water, but the bay IS actually Ocean View Terrace's biggest selling point at this compact 'Inn' from across the street on Montauk Hwy in Hamptons Bays. There are other noteworthy features: our airy and cheerful room has modern plank flooring, eating area, walk-in shower, beds had clean super crisp white sheets, walls were clean, AC, small deck, WiFi, charging stations, cable tv and a few other amenities. Because of COVID, Ocean View implemented strict check-in guidelines to minimize the spread of germs and a few other protocols. All nice to hear. But we felt a lot of work went towards upgrading rooms and forgot about the kitchenette. Still clean, but the stove burners, were individually covered in aluminum foil and that wasn't a pretty sight. I almost don't mind staying in motel-y spots- but as long as it's styled nicely from head-to-toe, I'm in. Adriana the Inn keeper though makes sure Ocean View's grounds are entirely well-kept in this little gem- and she's so sweet! Plus the office is also modernized, crisp and coastal. Again...If they just would've kept a keen eye on the kitchenette that's all. This is the smallest room we've stayed in ever. And at almost $400 a night- for 4 nights (yep)....... this is the Hamptons after all.

We were asked to wait. A manager approached us and said that the e mail confirmation was a mistake but that they would serve us anyway. He further said they only accept one non member reservation per day. It was made very clear in his tone and language that we were not really welcome. It seemed they were trying to create a members only exclusivity - which is fine, but then don't set up a means for non members to request a reservation. Also there were very few people at the restaurant - 10% of capacity at most; when we were seated we were the only people there. The food was good to great, the setting beautiful, but the service was extremely poor.

Nini was very kind and attentive to our needs. She was there when we arrived and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. Our cottage was immaculate with a stunning view of Hampton Bay. There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker in our kitchenette and we were surprised to receive a delivery of warm muffins, croissants to our room on Sunday morning. I highly recommend a long or short term stay at the Drake Inn. It is certainly one of the more affordable options for accommodations in the Hamptons.
