Beautiful, quiet place in Hampton Bays
    Cindy F.

Great place to stay in the Hampton Bays. Looking for tranquility, stay at this hotel. Nice, friendly staff. Warm muffins and croissants delivered to your door in the mornings. Loved that personal touch. It has an outdoor pool which felt like my own private pool since we were in it mostly by ourselves. Chaise lounges facing the boats and bay area and the sound of the music coming from the bar down the road made it even sweeter. BBQ grills in front of all the rooms. Rooms were modern, well kept and worth the stay. Will definitely be back. Loved it,

Updating bc I'm looking into rebooking for this summer and while we had the WiFi issues when we…read morelook back it's not even a bit of a reason to not go again so. We LOVED it here. It is a hidden gem for people who are looking for a simple beach getaway. *** There is nothing fancy about this place except that it's ON the beach. So if you looking for a top of the line award wining resort, this isn't it. *** That said... The cabins are nicely sized and clean but are slightly dated and worn(wood floors have been loved etc). WiFi wasn't great, we definitely used some cellular and personal hotspot etc BUT you won't find a place on Long Island where you can get two bedrooms, a full bath, full eat in kitchen, living room and covered deck off the side of the cabin for the price you will pay here. There's common areas for BBQing and then you bring your food back to your room/cabin, or you can cook in the kitchen but who wants to do that at the beach LOL. There is also free snacks and beverages in the lobby for guests pretty much 24 hrs. Free simple bf foods like muffins, etc in the mornings too. They have day beds and hammocks on the backyard lawn but the entire point of staying here is that when you go up and over the stairs you're on the beach. They have beach chairs or you can bring your own. We brought a wagon and my husband was able to walk around the side to bring everything over instead of lugging your stuff up and over. Kid friendly, dog friendly quiet area of the beach. We got one rainy day and drove into river head for the aquarium and stopped in Mattituck on the way back to the resort for Magic Fountain HomemadeIce Cream. The kids (7&4 yo boys) didn't want to leave and have asked to come back every yr.

1 star (would give zero if I could)…read more Absolutely DO NOT stay at this motel in the Hamptons. This place is a complete scam and one of the most disgusting experiences I've ever had while traveling. First off, the beds were advertised as queen-sized, but they were WAY smaller -- total false advertising. The bathroom had a sign saying you can't use toilet paper to wipe yourself, which is just nasty and unsanitary. How is this even allowed? The room wasn't cleaned during our stay unless we requested it (which we weren't even told up front), and the tiny garbage cans didn't even have lids -- so we were just sitting in filth. On top of that, there were creepy guys sleeping in their cars right outside the building all night. It felt super unsafe, especially for women traveling. Honestly, I've stayed at trailer parks and Jersey Shore motels with better standards and more respect for basic hygiene and safety. We paid Hamptons prices for a complete dump. Save your money, your peace of mind, and your skin -- stay literally anywhere else.

We met the owner in the office, very sweet and sincere. Family owned and operated business...the cottage was all we could ask for. Ice machine even vending machines if need be. We saw a ping pong table and even picnic /bbq areas for the family next time .. we will bring them next time before summer ends. The pool area is Beautiful! And clean .. looks new. Marina is right in the back I'd love to bring my boat here maybe next time. We really appreciate great service and just as great experiences! Thank you thank you! OPA! S&R

So, we grabbed them and went to our room. Strange check in. For the price you pay for this place, you'd think it would be more comfortable. The living room couch is old and uncomfortable, the WiFi isn't great, the ice bucket had bugs in it, but the kitchen was clean enough. The bedroom only has 1 side table, the bed was super bouncy and high off the floor, pillows were horrible, the bathroom has no sink space and no electrical outlet or fan. I had to sit on the floor in the bedroom to blow dry my hair. At least they had a hairdryer. The ironing board was so old we could hardly use it without damaging our clothes. The AC works ok - it's pretty cool in the living room but the vent in the bedroom is small and doesn't cool well. Needless to say, we won't be back.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (although they weren't able to offer a later checkout which was a bummer because our last day was the only one with decent weather), but we were really pleasantly surprised. The cottages are the perfect amount of space (we had 5 people, 2 in each room and one on the pullout couch. Originally we were going to get a suite for 4 people with a cot, but they let us know that for the same price we could do the option we did which was really nice of them to let us know. There was plenty of room for everyone and the room was extremely clean and felt like it was recently redone! The only issue we had was that the hot water ran out pretty quickly (which with 5 people showering, was expected, but we had to shower pretty spaced out in order for everyone to have hot water). The cottage was pretty well stocked (the only thing we really had to ask for more of was towels. I'd recommend buying or bringing an extra pot or pan if you plan on cooking a lot, which we did. We brought seran wrap and plates and paper towels which made things easier. The oven was also a little tricky to work as it had no temperature gauge, but that might not be in all of the rooms or cottages. The A/C was in perfect working condition. The property itself was awesome - pool was clean and a good size with plenty of chairs and the water toys (paddle boats, kayaks, etc) were in great condition and we had help getting everything in to the water. There are picnic tables on the bay as well (we had a great view of the sunset from there). Stop and Shop was pretty close driving so that was helpful too if you plan on using the kitchen. It was a bit of a drive from town so I would definitely recommend coming with a car as ubers and cabs are expensive there, but it's not totally necessary (We were able to get an uber a few times with no too long of a wait). Overall a great experience and place to stay at a very reasonable price!
