Great pool, plenty of chairs, so relaxing

I am always a little hesitant when I M not familiar with area and hotels. Do not really rely on most people's reviews especially when there are constant complaints about the facility and almost everything else they review. Negativity =negativity! My best friend and I wanted a few days out east and booked this hotel. (Gerry C) we were pleasantly surprised the rooms were spotless, utility kitchen with coffee pot, micro, fridge, and stove. Staff was so friendly and Accommodating, could not do enough for you. Not on a main road area quiet. Very happy with our choice. Thank you Ravecca and staff. Great time!

Hands down Best place I've been to. Had my bachelor party there, we was a groip of 22 guys and we had a good amount of the place rented out. we had the time of our lives. btw Very clean, the staff are very nice humble people. The pool is amazing. The rooms are designed very cozy for an at home feeling with a kitchen and all. They also have BBQ grills The beaches and bars are walking distance. Definitely going back a few times this summer. Very relaxing place.

Really enjoyed coming back from the pool and seeing all these plants and the well kept gardening!

Book a weekend at the beginning of the summer and i had to book two more weekends before the summer ended! Excellent service, clean, good for couple, a group of friends and even for families! Very lucky to have discovered this place and I cannot wait to go back this summer. I checked in a guessed and checked out like family!

Okay i read one other review that may be similar to my experience at this "hotel." When I arrived here from the outside it looked like a motel. The rooms are detached from the lobby. The outside definitely needs to be updated. I've stayed in many many hotels and have had some bad experiences. NOTHING COMPARES TO THIS HOTEL. The room was called "deluxe" as it was just a normal room with a bathroom, no couch. This was a motel and I was being charged $240 a night. The bathroom had no vent so when you took a shower the walls, mirror, toilet, and sink were soaking from the steamy shower. When I tried to open the window to air out the bathroom, a big mouth flew in since there is no screen on the window. The utensils are DISGUSTING. And I truly mean the nastiest thing ever. They have brown spots on them and just look unsanitary. We had to go out at night to buy utensils since that was definitely more sanitary. There was loud noise of heavy rock metal music happening at night ( not the fault of establishment but why is someone blasting music at 2am?) We had people over in our hotel room FOR THE DAY and were told that we need to not have the extra people there. I then called and the owner was kind but we left in such a hurry fearing we would be vacated out of our room since that is what she told us. When I asked her about it she said that "they just can't spend the night." But we told her this prior to her saying she would need us to leave if they are there. It was very uncomfortable. Also every time you walk out of your hotel room someone is looking at you. So many people are hanging out in front of the lobby (across from the motel rooms). And if smoking affects you the smell of everyone else cigarettes in the room next to you lingers into your room. The chairs by the pool are broken and you cannot physically sit on them without getting hurt I don't know what other reviews I read and I do wish I did more research about this place. It is a motel so please do not get fooled by the name "hotel.". The pictures is not even close to what our room looked like. The soaps on the wall in the shower stay "Baywatch motel". They have to have just changed the name to hotel overnight since it needs so much renovating!!! Also if you need to go to beach you have to uber $15 or walk over a mile. This was worst vacation of my life and definitely would have been better if we stayed in a better hotel. I just do not think this room is worth the money we are being charged. It is stuck in 1995. I feel happy leaving this review to help someone else in the future from staying at such a horrible horrible horrible hotel. PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!! Attached are pictures to share our experience

I wanted to buy everything at the gift shop that had "BayWatch" printed on it.

It is a hidden gem for people who are looking for a simple beach getaway. *** There is nothing fancy about this place except that it's ON the beach. So if you looking for a top of the line award wining resort, this isn't it. *** That said... The cabins are nicely sized and clean but are slightly dated and worn(wood floors have been loved etc). WiFi wasn't great, we definitely used some cellular and personal hotspot etc BUT you won't find a place on Long Island where you can get two bedrooms, a full bath, full eat in kitchen, living room and covered deck off the side of the cabin for the price you will pay here. There's common areas for BBQing and then you bring your food back to your room/cabin, or you can cook in the kitchen but who wants to do that at the beach LOL. There is also free snacks and beverages in the lobby for guests pretty much 24 hrs. Free simple bf foods like muffins, etc in the mornings too. They have day beds and hammocks on the backyard lawn but the entire point of staying here is that when you go up and over the stairs you're on the beach. They have beach chairs or you can bring your own. We brought a wagon and my husband was able to walk around the side to bring everything over instead of lugging your stuff up and over. Kid friendly, dog friendly quiet area of the beach. We got one rainy day and drove into river head for the aquarium and stopped in Mattituck on the way back to the resort for Magic Fountain HomemadeIce Cream. The kids (7&4 yo boys) didn't want to leave and have asked to come back every yr.

Truthfully though, my biggest summer hangups have been staying in a hotel, going to the beach and making sure no one is hovering over me. But I bent a bit and felt more at ease with taking a long weekend trip- especially since New York pandemic numbers are looking all right. Even though Ocean View Terrace has a motel-y look in person, they got away from the kitsch for more chic- and hubs went with it. Not necessarily situated on the water, but the bay IS actually Ocean View Terrace's biggest selling point at this compact 'Inn' from across the street on Montauk Hwy in Hamptons Bays. There are other noteworthy features: our airy and cheerful room has modern plank flooring, eating area, walk-in shower, beds had clean super crisp white sheets, walls were clean, AC, small deck, WiFi, charging stations, cable tv and a few other amenities. Because of COVID, Ocean View implemented strict check-in guidelines to minimize the spread of germs and a few other protocols. All nice to hear. But we felt a lot of work went towards upgrading rooms and forgot about the kitchenette. Still clean, but the stove burners, were individually covered in aluminum foil and that wasn't a pretty sight. I almost don't mind staying in motel-y spots- but as long as it's styled nicely from head-to-toe, I'm in. Adriana the Inn keeper though makes sure Ocean View's grounds are entirely well-kept in this little gem- and she's so sweet! Plus the office is also modernized, crisp and coastal. Again...If they just would've kept a keen eye on the kitchenette that's all. This is the smallest room we've stayed in ever. And at almost $400 a night- for 4 nights (yep)....... this is the Hamptons after all.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (although they weren't able to offer a later checkout which was a bummer because our last day was the only one with decent weather), but we were really pleasantly surprised. The cottages are the perfect amount of space (we had 5 people, 2 in each room and one on the pullout couch. Originally we were going to get a suite for 4 people with a cot, but they let us know that for the same price we could do the option we did which was really nice of them to let us know. There was plenty of room for everyone and the room was extremely clean and felt like it was recently redone! The only issue we had was that the hot water ran out pretty quickly (which with 5 people showering, was expected, but we had to shower pretty spaced out in order for everyone to have hot water). The cottage was pretty well stocked (the only thing we really had to ask for more of was towels. I'd recommend buying or bringing an extra pot or pan if you plan on cooking a lot, which we did. We brought seran wrap and plates and paper towels which made things easier. The oven was also a little tricky to work as it had no temperature gauge, but that might not be in all of the rooms or cottages. The A/C was in perfect working condition. The property itself was awesome - pool was clean and a good size with plenty of chairs and the water toys (paddle boats, kayaks, etc) were in great condition and we had help getting everything in to the water. There are picnic tables on the bay as well (we had a great view of the sunset from there). Stop and Shop was pretty close driving so that was helpful too if you plan on using the kitchen. It was a bit of a drive from town so I would definitely recommend coming with a car as ubers and cabs are expensive there, but it's not totally necessary (We were able to get an uber a few times with no too long of a wait). Overall a great experience and place to stay at a very reasonable price!

Prior to arrival, we made multiple attempts to contact the office to report our delay due to traffic, but received no response. Upon arrival, the office was locked, calls went unanswered, and I was forced to seek assistance from another guest to locate staff. The initial interaction with THE OWNER! --whose name I did not obtain- she dismissive and unprofessional. Although she gave an apology during check out, it did not mitigate the inconvenience and stress caused by the lack of communication and preparedness. I had arranged for a friend to stay with me, but due to the uncomfortable experience, she chose to stay elsewhere that night. This experience reflects a significant lapse in service standards. Professionalism, clear communication, and respect are fundamental expectations for any guest, and these were not met. As a result, I would not consider returning.
