New to the area and this is an awesome family oriented business. They are great with the kids and also have adult classes.

My son and I are attending the M-W-F family classes (he's 7, I'm approaching 50 much too quickly), and Ms. Reeves' approach to teaching is amazingly effective for both of us. The tenets of Tae Quan Do are discussed in classes in a low-key way that still manage to work their way into our day-to-day lives. In two months, my son now volunteers to do chores around the house, goes to bed much more willingly (that is no small miracle, btw), and is beginning to exhibit a greater degree of self-confidence. He has good coordination naturally (thanks, Mom!), but is learning to use that in a positive way. For my part, I am getting in much better shape (although my range of motion has a looong way to go) and find myself eagerly looking forward to each class. I am more focused at work and have recognized some of my dormant qualities that I am now reviving (perseverance, for one). In short, and although I am only a neophyte, I know the journey is going to be a lot of fun. The range of ages and belt levels in class, along with Ms. Reeves instruction, make classes a lot of fun and are challenging. I highly recommend this place!

Deceptive business practices!…read more We've had two children enrolled in his program for over six months who progressed out of his Basic Training program and earned their yellow belts. And we just recently withdrew from his program. Here's all you need to know before you decide to enroll your children in Mr. Weithington's Taekwondo: When your children sign up, they start in Basic Training. This is a ~6 month program where the children learn the basics of TKD. We were paying $450/month (for both kids) plus belt testing fees which for both children was approx. $100 every few months. This is a LOT of money but overall the program was reasonably well managed. Then after a few months, Mr. Weithington is going to reach out to you to schedule an in-person meeting so you can learn more about joining the Masters program and setting your children's Black belt goals, oh and also he wants to save you money! A quick google search about TKD and these programs suggest they are just a giant money-grab and to fast-track black belts. Needless to say we deferred on attending this meeting. What Mr. Weithington does not tell you upfront when you join Basic Training is that his Masters club is not optional. It's mandatory! And he wants more of your money! In our case, for our children to stay enrolled in his program he demanded $1,748 and to increase our monthly rate to $550/month for 35 months. Our children were doing great as yellow belts, and ready to test for their next belt, and out of the blue one day he notified my wife that they were not eligible to test for their next belt unless we joined his Masters program and paid him off. Needless to say we promptly withdrew our children from his program. He preaches integrity and ethics every day in his studio but fails to walk the talk in his personal dealings with his students and families. Avoid this program and his bait and switch.
