We've been regulars at Gauche Aquatic Park for years, and it's a solid local spot, though there are a few important things to know before you go. The Positives: The lifeguards here take their jobs very seriously. They actively monitor the pools to ensure kids aren't playing too rough. For safety reasons, they don't allow parents to ride down the yellow slide with toddlers--there isn't a sign posted about this, but we were completely fine following the rule to set a good example for the kids. The Layout & Safety: One design quirk to watch out for if you have toddlers is that the 2-foot kiddie area connects directly to the 4-foot pool without a barrier. It can be a bit risky for non-swimmers who might accidentally wander into the deeper water, so expect to be right in the pool with your little ones the whole time. Crowds & Amenities: Weekends get incredibly packed, to the point where it's hard for kids to swim without bumping into others. Seating and shade are very limited, which is why a massive line forms before opening. You essentially have to sprint inside to claim a spot; otherwise, you're stuck standing in the sun. Also, note that the big slide isn't guaranteed to be running. It was closed during our recent weekend visit. Timing & Cost: They currently run two separate sessions (12:00 PM-2:30 PM and 3:30 PM-6:00 PM). At $12 per person ($48 for our family of four), it honestly feels a bit pricey for just two and a half hours of swim time. Overall, it's a fun park, but you definitely want to arrive early and stay vigilant with younger kids. read more

Crazy how it is $12 per person now and yet you guys can't even hire someone that is tech savvy to update your info. All the lifeguards come off hella bossy. You can't do this, you can't do that. No diving, No flips, no wearing snorkel goggles. Anything you do they seem to have a rule . The Fun police are a bunch of Buzz killingtons and doing hella extra. Will never comeback. Hope this place makes no money and shuts down 1 star out of default. They could improve by not being so bossy seems that they are trained to be jerks. read more

My son had loads of fun here before he slipped was injured by the slide. We realized he was bleeding and there was no urgency from staff to help. We asked for bandaids, first aid kit, anything and they shrugged their shoulders and said there wasnt anything they could do. I hope they post signs about safety in the park so that other children won't get too injured. read more

Unsafe. The supervisor is unprofessiinal and rude. This is a bad place for children 6 and under. A 4 foot pool is connected to the 1 foot play area. It is also impossible to supervise 360 degrees. We had reservations for months and they double booked our 100 preschool and Kindergarten students with a middle school. It is so dangerous to have 4 to 6 year olds around 12 to 14 year olds. Shocking. Worst time with my students. I will never go back there and recommend no one go there. Unsafe! read more

Went here for a family birthday and had a great time. My 2 year old daughter loved it as well as me. The kiddie area was perfect for toddlers and younger children. There's a big slide for anyone whose 48 inches taller to go ride down from. Which was pretty fun and then there's the deeper pool side up to 13ft for the adults and more experienced swimmers. At the 13ft pool side, includes rock climbing that drops down into to the pool and jumping boards. The best part of it is that the price is extremely affordable. I believe 2 years and under is free and 3 and up is ONLY $5. Will definitely be going back. read more

This is such a fun place to bring your family and have a nice day at the pool. The location is really big with a lot of awesome stuff. Diving board, rock climbing wall, kids play area, lap swim, free swim, and a water slide! All for $5! You can't beat it. We drive up from Sacramento to go here. It's never too crowded either. They have a snack bar with fair prices as well! A playground outside in the front and picnic areas for birthdays or barbecues! The only thing is that there are different sessions and each session is around 3 hours so that's the max time you are allowed to be there but that doesn't bother me because I'm usually done after about 2.5 hours anyways. All in all it's a great time and really worth checking out! read more

My daughter loved this place. Despite another reviewer stating the admission price was too high how fo you arrive at $4 being too high considering the staff and the amenities. You can hold parties here. Kids love it. This place is a gem and Yuba City/Marysville can use a few gems. read more

Generally reaches capacity, so if you aren't willing to stand in a line for 30 minutes before each session in the sun in 100 degree heat, then you probably won't make it. If you wait an hour for people to leave, they still won't let you in. It's fairly fun if you make it on a cold day, but there aren't nearly enough lawn chairs for parents and I fear people will steal my belongings if I'm not always with them. The park is nice, the pool isn't very accommodating. There aren't enough public pools in the area. read more

Fun place for the kids. I was a YMCA counselor and we brought our kids here. They had a blast, and I did too! My complaint is that this place needs to be a bit more considerate of the job market. A friend of mine (who is in college full time) had to pay $500 for the training (which was conducted by Gauche.) The job market in Yuba-Sutter is bad enough as it is. Makes no sense that they would make a young adult / teen (or their parents) pay $500 to get a minimum wage job. Is this their idea of creating competition for hires? read more

OK, here's the deal: my son LOVES this place. Why? Because it's a pool. And there's a water slide. Would he request to go there if we had a pool at home? Nope. That's the only reason it was given a high rating. I have no qualms about the staff, and the fact that there is a snack bar is a definite plus. There has always been plenty of room on the bleachers for our belongings, and the bathrooms aren't as disgusting as you'd expect with unsupervised kids running around. The fact that the park is located in the center of a low income area is disheartening, considering the cost of admission is so high. And the season ticket price is absolutely ridiculous. read more

I've taken my 10 month old son twice here now for their tot time on Fridays. My son loves the water and has a lot of fun swimming here! I like how they have an area for children and a special time slot for it. I would have given them five stars if they had more time slots on their tot time. Right now, it is only on Fridays from 10-1130. It would be nice if they had another day for it. read more

My kids have a blast here! I do wish the swim sessions were a bit longer, and another water slide would be amazing as the line does get pretty long which isn't fun on hot days. All in all, if you want to treat your littles to a pool day, this is the place to go in Yuba Sutter. read more

This place is awful. They need to think of better capacity restrictions and not be so greedy and cram in a bunch of careless kids that are WAY too big for the kiddie pool. We went there to pay 5 dollars per person even though 2 people weren't going to swim, we still were told we had to pay, and we were NOT told that the swim "session" ended in 20 minutes before we paid! I am so DISGUSTED By this place, and will NEVER be going back. They allow older kids into the kiddie pool area that are way too big and were roughing around and pushing other kids around, there are lifeguards but apparently none of them felt it appropriate to get onto kids that were pushing smaller kids around. Very Disappointed in this place. Recommended for OLDER Kids, not younger kid's under 6. read more

We first went to this water park on my kids field trip and were pleasantly surprised. In our next trip we went as a family. The entrance fee is $5 (even if u r not swimming), u have to pick a time either early morning to 2:30 or 3:30 to 6:30. They have these two time slots so if u arrive early u can have the kids hangout in the park at the front. The snack shop is okay-we need more healthier choices such as salads. There are plenty of lounge chairs to relax and watch ur kids. The park has three sections-a toddler/small kid area, one pool, and one water slide for older kids. Visiting Yuba City and our hotel pool was closed, so we quickly drove to Gauche and and got in 45 minutes with my kids before closing. Kids had a blast and the 7 year old loved the rock climbing wall. Was very impressed with the multitude of pool activiites (slides, climbing structures) and variety of pools for different age levels. It's a fun water park for the area. I only wish they had an infant splash area so all of the kids could have fun but we make it work. Lifeguards are readily available and the children's play area is adequate. The kids love it on a hot day so that's all that really matters. read more

We love this place, it's more than just a public pool but stops just short of being a water park. My kids are too little to really get a whole lot out of those big, scary water slides at Sunsplash, so it doesn't make sense for us to pay $100+ to go there. But this place has a really fun splash pool complete with spray toys, a bucket that dumps water on your head and two mini water slides. They also have a 25 foot water slide for older kids and a deep pool with diving boards and a rock wall. The best thing about this pool is the lifeguards. They are so well trained and organized that I feel like my kids are going to be safe even if I lose track of them (I have four). I have already seen them rescue a couple of kids in trouble and you never see them standing around chatting and not paying attention (which I have seen at our local public pool). They're constantly checking the bottom of the pool for people in trouble and they're always changing locations so they can stay alert. Plus at $5 a person (up from $4 last year) I can take a family of six for $30. I cannot find cheaper entertainment anywhere else, especially this year when all the lakes are really low and the beaches aren't very much fun. One reviewer complained about the price but jeez, considering the amount of lifeguards on staff at any given time, I honestly don't know how $5 a person even covers their expenses. But I'm grateful that it does. Oh and we live in Grass Valley, and will happily drive 45 minutes to go here instead of going to one of the local pools. read more

I can not review this place based on the water park only based on the facility. My daughter's swim team uses this facility for practice. The grounds are kept spotless, the interior of the building is very well kept and always clean. The lifeguards and other employees are always very friendly and professional. The pool is heated and again....spotless. There are plenty of tables & chairs to sit and there are also nice bleachers. I am very impressed with the lifeguards and all of the safety training they receive. It is very obvious that they take their jobs very seriously, which I appreciate. Love, Love, Love Gauche Aquatic Park. Have a 5 year old and 10 year old. PERFECT. Able to get in for $16 for a family of 4 today, 7/24/13. Went to Sunsplash in Roseville last weekend for $115.00 for the same amount of time and so many more people. This was way more fun for the ages of my children. More low key and fun for our family. I came from Chico, and plan to go as much as possible this summer. Staff everywhere, ensuring safety and good behavior. So much fun. A+++. The fact that I drove 2 hours just to get here, just so that I could go home feeling annoyed and it's like 100 degrees, they couldn't take debit card ONLY CASH, so I had to drive to find a ATM then Come back couldn't find any parking, had to walk hella far, then when we went to get out tickets, they said that we couldn't get tickets til an 1 and 30 min later, I mean it'll be NICE if they have the "sessions" on their website so people could know, I wasted my whole day just to come here and didn't even get to swim! I have two kids, A son that is 9 and a daughter that is 5, They really love going. They have lot's of life guards and a snack bar. I think the height limit on the slide could be lower, My daughter is able to swim and go off the diving board, but she is not allowed to go down the larger slide. Brought my 2yo here for the first time today. I was really impressed with the facility and my daughter had a blast! We did have to wait a bit to get in right at noon, but it wasn't terrible. It was clean and well maintained. The lifeguards were great and really on top of things considering the number of kids. We will definitely be making this a regular trip :) read more

My family just adores this place! It's so cheap and such a nice way to change up our summer weekends. My 4 year old loves the gradual pool, it's helped her to become more comfortable in water and she always meets a new friend while were there. My only gripe would be the weird split hours because it's hard for us to get to certain places by a certain time and enjoy it in an allotted amount of time.. Hopefully they make it an all day thing one day. We can't wait to go back next summer! read more

Brought my 1.5 year old daughter here and my friend brought her 3.5 year old son here the other day! We were very impressed by how clean everything was (except their were old food boats under the lounge chairs). It cost the 4 of us $15 total to get in and we were there for about 2 hours! My friends son had an absolute blast going from thing to thing! My daughter had a great time too even though most of the structure was for kids a bit older than her! They had plenty of attentive life guards there too! Overall it was a great experience and we will be back! read more

As a mother of a toddler, I love the pools and the play section for the little ones. It's also great having Tot time on Fridays where the little ones have a little more room to play without fear of older kids pushing them out of the way. Think if your time will be worth it...$4 admission for EACH session that lasts only 2.5 hours. If you want to go back for the second session you have to pay another $4. Yes, you can get a season pass for a family of four at $300 I believe, but seriously, this is the ONLY pool facility with a slide in Yuba City...I think you would be wasting your money. They're only open certain times and it's not for more than 2.5 hours. read more
