Wow, this place is Ono. First thing the restaurant is at a golf course and is spacious with spectacular views. Now the best part. The Hawaiian style poke is the best in the west I've had at a restaurant ever!!! Fresh ahi, perfectly roasted inamona, crunchy limu, crunchy onions, perfect amount of Hawaiian salt. Kalbi was delicious and the pulehu guava chicken was perfect. The marinades for both were bomb. The garlic chicken was also ono and the mac salad was just how I like it, peppery. One the to note, rather than having traditional cabbage at the bottom of the meat, braddah Paki puts furukaki rice, go figure, awesome. Paki also does smoke meat. Driving back to Vegas & was looking for a good local food restaurant. Honestly thought were driving into the wrong spot since it brought us to a golf course, but the restaurant sits next to the golf shop. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of space & great views. We ordered all the grinds from garlic chicken, to poke nachos & locomoco. The food was ono! So sweet, the owner came out to talk story. Family owned business working with his sons in the kitchen. Let me put ya'll onto this spot in St. George. Tucked inside the cafe of the St George Golf Club's cafe, is a legit Hawaiian restaurant. Don't go to the chain restaurant if you're craving Hawaiian plates, come here. The owner, Josh, and his family are originally from Oahu and they bring the island flavors with them to little old St George, Utah. The customer service was so good, they made you feel like ohana before you even get your food. I got the surf and turf plate, kalbi short ribs and fresh poke, made to order. You choose your protein and poke flavor. I went with Hawaiian which is the traditional shoyu, onions, green onions, seaweed, and macadamia nuts. It's over a bed of rice sprinkled with furakake and oh so flavorful. The ribs were tender with the perfect balance of sweet and hint of saltiness. Their Mac salad is unlike any I've had before. No shredded carrots, their version is speckled with black pepper and is more on the savory side, I was a big fan of it. We got lost, GPS tells you to turn one street shy of where the restaurant is. It is next-door to the pro shop and there is a beautiful view. If you get lost, don't give up! IT IS SOOOOO GOOD! Im originally from Oahu, Hawaii now live in Las Vegas. I can honestly say, they have the best garlic chicken I had so far...and i pretty much tried them all. Great crispy crunch outside and tender and juicy inside with a awesome flavor from the sauce. Not chewy and dry inside like some places. Mac salad was different but to be honest, it was winnahz, great flavor. Poke nachos was mean too. Chips had great texture and light. Huge portions. Rudest people ever. We drive quite a ways to try them because if the reviews, only to arrive around 1:45 on a Saturday to find the kitchen closed for a catering event. That was not the worst part. The food is excellent and perfect for the early bird golfers ( they serve 7 a.m. breakfast), a pick me up lunch, or a beverage to brag about scores over, or a beer to just cry in. Service is quick should you be rushing for a tee time or grabbing something to munch on the course. Ambiance is quiet as the "kitchen" is nestled lower on the street with no audible street noise, yet anchored by views of the St George Golf Course. My lunch partner and I shared a poke bowl, which can only be described as melt in your mouth yummy. The ahi was delicately sliced,with slivers of onions, edamane, honey, soy, and probably a bunch of secret ingredients. If using fingers, you'd lick them for sure (we used our forks). Following previous diners & Paki's recommendation we ordered the infamous garlic chicken. It's a bit spicy, but not too much. The garlic was perfect and a nice ratio to the deep fried bite-sized boneless chicken pieces. This dish is packed with flavor. Kalabi short ribs were ordered by my companion, anxious for a taste of home. These were thinly sliced and cut into 4 pieces, each succulent and bone sucking (it's all about the marinade/sauce). Each dish was accompanied by the traditional scoops of rice (clumped/sticky) and the omnipotent side of mac salad. There are fountain sodas as well as Island canned sodas and juices. The cherry goes on top of this sundae as locals were getting takeout when we arrived and a table of 8 "Islanders" were happy as could be for homestyle cooking, vowing to return the next day for another meal. There is more eating than talking, and quiet mms, ums, oohs, and smacking of lips which is a testament to the cook. Oh, we'll be back. Best Hawaiian food in St George and it's not even close. The restaurant is on a Golf Course, and when you're driving up the hill to it you can just smell the deliciousness of what is being cooked there float down the hill. Do yourself a favor and get the golden brown, crunchy deliciousness that is their Garlic Chicken, I still need to get around to trying the other stuff on the menu, but the Garlic chicken is so good I just keep going back to that instead.
