I got kalbi short rib plate. And a spam masubi... dare I say best spam masubi in town? It was so good!! I devoured the plate! Great little hole in the wall place. It does need a little updating with the decor or maybe the back home island restaurant look is what they are going for ‍. I ordered the katsu chicken, teriyaki chicken and Kalua pork. First and for most, the chicken dishes were absolutely amazing. The flavor was more than what I expected. You can tell there is someone in the kitchen that knows island seasoning. The Kalua pork on the other hand was very lacking in flavor and a little dry. I'm a snob when it comes to Kalua pork and have had a hard time finding a good one at a restaurant. My suggestion would be to get that black lava salt out and generously use it when cooking the pig and when in doubt, put more salt on while cooking. I definitely will be going back here to try their pupu chicken and kalbi ribs. read more

It is not uncommon to find Hawaiian food in Utah. The trick is to find GOOD Hawaiian food. This unassuming spot does a great job of preparing "plate lunches", as they're known in the islands. The food is so authentic that we visited twice during a brief stay in St. George. The kalua pork is luau-worthy, the katsu chicken is on point, and the teriyaki rocks. Service is friendly and the ambience is "island plate lunch joint." So good! read more

I've been here twice when we are headed for our glamping adventures. Solid Hawaiian spot for Utah, the pupu chicken is a family favorite. We love the chicken, the fried coating, the dipping sauce. The closest thing to being on the islands. The family is clearly from the island and are knowledgeable of the dishes. My only issue was that I got sick after eating it. It was so tasty too, so not being able to hold it down was such a disappointment. I wish I could try it again to see if the second experience would be different, but it moved. I saw this spot while grabbing breakfast at bishops. My parents had not tried it before but it looked legit. We felt more confident when we saw a family of Hawaiians walk in just before us. The ordering process is easy. The options are amazing. And the food is perfect. I wasnt positive what PuPu chicken was. I think its an alternative way to fry chicken and it was amazing. My wife and I split the 3 meat meal and grabbed an extra side of mac salad. It was all very delicious. Plus we had a ton of leftovers. A very good value and very good food. A couple interesting things about driving from Page to Vegas is you go back and forth between being in Arizona and Utah a couple times and if you decide to take a stop in between, you come across a little city called St. George. We needed a place to stop for a bit while getting something to eat, and Yelp led us to this place. We essentially wanted something cheap and fast that wasn't too filling but enough to get us to Vegas and ended up on this place. We ordered two $5 combos with Kailua pork and chicken. For the chicken, they have different options such as teriyaki chicken and pupu. We decided to get the pupu based on its unique name. The pupu chicken was super crispy! I thought the Kailua pork was a little mushy but it was good. It also comes with mac salad, rice, and a drink which makes for a pretty filling meal. I will say the sauce that came with the combo was really sweet, but we put some sriracha to balance it out as well as add some spice. For $5 and a good amount of food which is pretty decent tasting? A great place for a pit stop. read more

When we were driving through Utah to get to Vegas, we were looking for a place to stop in St. George. There were many fast food options but whenever I get the chance to support a local place I try to. Yelp led me to this place and it's a great bang for your buck! The service was short and sweet from our experience. We only spoke with them to put in our order and that's it. She was friendly and the place seemed very family ran, which makes it feel homey. My bf and I stop by for a quick lunch and found that they had a $5 which includes a protein, rice, mac salad, and a drink. I got the pupu chicken and a raspberry tea. They give you a small cup of sauce which is a sweet, slightly watered down teriyaki sauce. I added some sriracha to it and it was golden. The chicken was really crispy which is what made me a fan. For this meal, I was pretty full and only short $5. read more

Tried this place after driving by it 100 times. I ordered the two meat plate with pupu chicken and pork. It was fantastic! Way better than I had anticipated. The pupu chicken was amazing. So I've became a loyal customer because their food is worth the far drive! And let me tell you why. (Some of you might get offended, but I don't give two shits) The food quality is decent (you know your fat ass wants more, so that's why y'all complain about "portion size".) If you wanted more portions, PAY for it. I do that when it comes to ordering the delicious garlic shrimp which has none of that sweet chili sauce like Honolulu grills does (No shade babe, y'all garlic chicken is too sweet) Their mac salad is the exact same way it is made in hawaii at the local restaurants. (If you say it only has mayo, mary...that's how we do it back in Hawai'i Nei. You guys are probably used to the mac salad with relish in it. Oi aue And don't claim to say you know how authentic hawaiian food tastes like unless you had food from an undergroundoven. ) Their service is great (maybe it's because I'm polynesian so obviously the feeling will be mutual) The pricing are as expected. I lived on the North Shore for 3 1/2 years and so I feel like I have had my fair share of plate-lunch. When I read the reviews about this restaurant I was very excited to give it a try because it can be hard to find good and authentic plate-lunch on the mainland. My husband and I shared the three-meat plate with two scoops of rice and mac salad. We ordered the Pupu chicken, Kalua pork, and teri beef. The Pupu chicken was my husband's favorite and I loved the Kalua pork. The Terry beef was very flavorful but we received some very fatty pieces so be warned about that when ordering the teri beef. The mac salad was also delicious and the whole plate was plenty for my husband and I to share for a good price of around $13. The service was a little slow (probably because we had 3 meats) but the employees were very nice. The joint was very unassuming and low key. We also had a very difficult time finding the restaurant since the address kept taking us somewhere on the other side of town. Not sure what that was about. If you're going, don't get directions through the Yelp app, go outside the app and type in the address on your own. read more

Okay I don't offer write reviews but while on spring break we were looking for something new to try and I have to say this was the best Hawaiian food I have had sense being on the North Shore. I loved the Garlic shrimp, it was like eating from one of the many food trucks in Hawaii. Also the Mac salad was very flavorful unlike some places where they have never heard of salt.
