the best bbq ive ever had! forced my family to come here and they became just as obsessed (my dad doesnt like american bbq) the first time i came was on a thursday at 6pm they were sold out of everything we wanted, so we knew the hype was legit. on a sunday at 12 we got the big baller plate for 6 adults and 4 young kids. it fed us perfectly with a bit of leftovers, about 280 with tip. the menu is pretty large, meat focused with some veg options and sides. i love how they have daily specials that always change, and update the menu/announce when things sell out to the line. theres a lot of seating and i like how the utensils and to go station is self serve. there are smokers in the back and they offer tours when the pitboys are in the back! i tried to get one today (sunday morning) but the girl said they werent here today but offered one of their line cooks. super sweet but i declined (ill be back anyways haha) my grandma tried to order the fruits with tajin and chamoy, but they were sold out. they ended up giving her whatever they had left (like less than a 1/4 lb container) for free. so sweet! brisket - practically falls apart! never had it like that before. they even offered if i wanted a moister part which was nice. turkey - underrated. i wasnt expecting anything since turkey is usually super mid and dry, but my whole family was super impressed by how tender and flavorful it was. sausage - forgot what flavors we got but they both had a great snap and was soo juicy ribs - good, i personally like saucy baked ribs more esquites - delicious! i think if youre getting meats its better to get the plain one tbh mac n cheese - bomb, we finished this so fast rice - good, no complaints! read more

The place was packed on a Saturday we stood in line looking at the menu and as we got closer they had specials of the day including desserts and donuts. Station 1 is the meats (they allow you to sample) . I ordered the chopped taco ( pulled pork) packed with a ton of meat , Mac n cheese ( some of the best I have had) and of course the donut - salted Carmel fried in beef tallow . Arrived just before rush hour which worked out great for us. We ordered Brisket torta and the Double X Platter. Double platter came with ribs, brisket and we chose the Serrano cheddar sausage. For the sides we picked the Mac n cheese and esquite. Serrano cheddar sausage was my favorite. Brisket was flavorful and tender. The ribs had good flavor but I prefer spare ribs. We our from CA and we stopped by this place on our way to page. Even though we got there 10 minutes to their closing , Olivia allowed us to go in, order and sit. This place is casual and big with both inside and outside sitting areas. Olivia who greeted us at the door was very friendly and kindly helped us with our orders and then with some nice suggestions for our next stay in Moab. I've been meaning to try this place for a while. Finally had the chance to come in on a Friday night. It wasn't as busy as I expected which was a plus. We got the double X platter which comes with brisket, ribs, sausage and a side. It also comes with tortillas and an optional pickled onions, jalapeños and pickles. Everything was great. The bark and smoke on each of the meat was perfect. They were flavorful and moist. The sauces were also fantastic, including a móle and green sauce which are Mexican inspired. Went in on a normal Tuesday at opening, and was told by the Gen Zer that since they're closed on Monday, they only have a limited menu on Tuesdays. This was our second visit to Pica Rica. I have previously raved about this placed, even boasting about their artful Brisket and fantastically cooked Ribs. The esquites were novel for Bar B Que and the Cole Slaw was creative. Unfortunately, the second visit was like a lackluster second date where the spark seem to have vanished. The esquites were over salted. The pulled pork lost all consistency and was like pork mush. The barbacoa lacked the depth and brightness of our last meal. The service was even spotty. Lunch at Pica Rica was easily the highlight of my weekend. I grew up in south Texas and our meal here hit the spot for what I look for in barbecue, with a bit of Tex Mex flair, too, like having barbacoa, breakfast tacos and chilaquiles (Sunday special, see below). We went in at opening on a Sunday, staff were friendly and the space is stylish with a fun playlist overhead. We ordered the breakfast taco, the Texas Trinity Platter (brisket, rib, sausage, side, tortilla, pickles) with a side of macaroni and added an extra side of beans. The brisket was most anticipated and delivered, with great texture and flavor that didn't need sauce. The breakfast burrito was fantastic, with an ample portion of potatoes, a thick slice of brisket and house salsa topped with perfectly fried egg, all stuffed into the house-made tallow tortilla - $12 and a large portion that I didn't want to share. I'm not really a ribs girlie but the one here was great, very tender - my husband compared it to pulled pork, in a good way. The house habanero cheddar sausage was delayed and came out last, leftovers went well with eggs the next morning. My daughter demolished the sides of beans and macaroni - the mac was nice and saucy without being overcooked and the beans had a great flavor to them. Our meal was around $50 and we ate every bit, left full and happy. They have covered patio seating out back, which was a nice touch. We walked off our meal going down to the park nearby. Appreciate that they're family friendly with a changing table it the bathroom. Looking forward to coming back again next time we pop into STG! Note that they have a specials board for Sunday breakfast/brunch options, including chilaquiles you can add protein too. Will try to time our next visit for another Sunday. read more

I've made my way around most of the menu at Pica Rica BBQ, and the meats are definitely the highlight here. They're very flavorful and impressively prepared--I've only had BBQ at this level at state fairs or cook-off festivals, so that part truly stands out. Where things get tricky for me is the price point, which feels a bit steep, and the ordering process, which is confusing enough to take away from the experience. The counters and flow could really use some rethinking to make it smoother for customers. As for the sides, they're not quite on the same level as the meats. The mac and cheese has been dry every time I've tried it, and overall the sides could use some improvement. On a positive note, the breakfast tacos are unique and definitely worth trying. There's a lot of potential here, and the quality of the meat is undeniable, but with some tweaks to the ordering system and better sides, this could be an even stronger BBQ spot. read more

Overall: good bbq but overpriced and not worth the wait. I love some good BBQ and I had the highest of hopes truly, they are highly rated and I was underwhelmed unfortunately. Line was out the door when I got there, was in a rush as it was our last day in town so I quickly ordered a DoorDash with a promise time of 15 min later, skipped the line went to the front to let them know I was here. I waited nearly 30 min for my food and ordered 3 things. Could have gone through the line 2x at that point. The gal running the 1 register was kind and reassuring but to wait 30 min for 2 brisket sandwiches and 1 taco, I was annoyed. I get home with the food and the sandwiches have MAYBE 1/4 lbs of meat for $13. If you're a fan of BamBams in Orem or Joe's in PHX this was very much the same quality but overpriced with less impressive sauces. I'd like to think the full experience is exponentially better, but nonetheless think it's overpriced and overhyped when I've had just as good of BBQ up north and in the PHX valley. read more

This is probably the best bbq in Utah. If you've had bbq in Texas, you'll probably think this is good bbq, but not great. The meat just doesn't quite have the smoke flavor that bbq in Texas has. The guy slicing the brisket that day was struggling, and cut us some ugly slices, but they were still good. The ribs are heavy on the pepper rub but still sweet. Mac and cheese is good and the coleslaw isn't bad. It's got a cider kick to it. The Texas hot sausage was good. They don't serve slices of bread with the food. Also don't have help yourself lemonade or sweet tea. If they were in Texas, I'd probably say 3 stars but I'm going with 4 since it's St George, UT. read more
