Typically it features three 9- hole courses, Deer Run, Panther Claw, and Armadillo, however one of the three has been under renovation for at least the last two years.

The fairways are all mowed to the ground, even the rough. Balls would not stay in the fairway even playing the higher elevation side. Weeds next to fairways. Grass was mowed but clippings were so deep it looked like they were ready to make hay. Carts are old and slow. Lots of weeds all around the ponds. Tee boxes had bare spots more than grass. Layout is very strange. Blind shots over trees and weeds at tee boxes on two holes. Big trees dead center on three fairways. Please explain this. Bottom line the course is managed on a government contract and they are milking the contract. Our service people deserve better. When I visit again I will go to Stonetree instead. The government employee in the military overseeing this contract needs to visit this place and see the contract abuse. I have seen 2 other base courses and both were well managed and were excellent. Not this one.

Accommodations were Rustic and Well appointed. It was so easy to melt into the landscape and enjoy the breeze. Our excursions included primitive knife throwing, paint ball and ropes course. Training was of the highest caliber and focused on team work and leadership. I was so impressed how every member of our group conquered the Power Pole! Nights were spent in the main house grilling out and bonding. The boys camped out in the bunk house. We even took a lake swim right off the main lawn. I couldn't of ask for a better way to get closer to my son. I will most definitely be back.

In fact, the bathroom closest to the campsites is a porta potty. My biggest complaint is LCRA advertises this park as a place to come swim. We visited over a hot Memorial Day weekend and were disappointed to find no swimming beach. Everywhere is littered with debris and the water was extremely murky. I would definitely not plan on swimming here though we did a few people fishing farther out on a pier and plenty of boaters.

Chris was super busy because of the storms that pushed through the day before, but took his time and showed me the ropes. He related the lesson to things I was familiar with and made me comfortable with my body mechanics on the bike. He brought me to the skills park for a ride to get me in the groove and then we hit the trails. It was like having a buddy teaching me new skills. I can't say enough about my experience here, started on the greens and ended up finishing on mid-level blues. All the staff were amazing and helpful. I'll definitely be back, and will be bringing my wife and kid!

This old man comes out and rudely yells "you think you can just fish here!" We were stunned. He demanded payment for using the dock. We apologized and told him we didn't rise we had to pay. How much was it? He laughed and said "get out. You didn't think you had to pay?" I saud "sir, I've spent many a time here & didn't realize we had to pay. How much do we owe you"? He screamed "load up we're closed can't you read the sign?" We responded again. We didn't know. It's one thing if I owe you nut to be a complete jackass was totally uncalled for. I gave them a 1 star ONLY because its the lowest it would allow.
