They didn't show us at all how to use the guns, and we had to figure out how to get them unstuck ourselves. It would've been nice if they had us shoot at the targets before sending us straight into a game without knowing if our guns worked properly. They have a big, open course, and a small course with buildings. The small course was shaded, so we stuck to that one a lot more. It was nicely designed and looked like a video game. They don't have running water or AC, and they have one porta-potty. They provided a filled water container without cups.

When we got to BLORA we were the only players there so the kids could learn at their own pace. CONS: We rented the equipment that was not well maintained. The masks still had paint on the lenses. The guns either were malfunctioning or the air tanks weren't filled. All 3 bags of 500 paintballs which we each received had one or more broken balls and therefore paint on the surface of the paintballs which affected trajectory. The balls were also old and were resistant to breaking on target. One of the two workers/ referees had never played before and it was his first day on the job. I overlooked all of that, knowing my kids didn't know any better, and I guided them through a more thorough safety brief and basically refereed the 3 of us. PROs: The staff members were polite and at least one of the two were knowledgeable. It was not crowded. The multiple scenario fields were good. The paintballs didn't break in the guns. We did have a lot of fun and now my kids are hooked. It's a great place for a first timer. It's also a great place for small, private groups. VERDICT: For an uncrowded paintball field, serious Veteran players in a group will want to bring their own gear. I will continue to take my kids there until they outgrow the experience and either lose interest or are ready for a more competitive paintball experience but we'll consider getting our own gear.

The rink itself is badly maintained and the wheels of their skates catch repeatedly on the dented, cracked wood. Every member of staff we interacted with, from the woman who manages the place to the guy renting skates and the girl serving food, was so rude and indifferent. The floor and tables were filthy as if they'd never washed, pizza was dry and gross, and it was just overall a lousy experience. You also can't pay with anything but cash. This place has outlived its nostalgia value and really needs either a full overhaul or to be shut down. My daughter wants her own skate party this year and we're driving down to Austin instead. I'd never recommend Wheels for parties or even a casual skate, it's just dreadful and unpleasant inside with the smell and age, like it was frozen in the 90s.

We asked the same bartender about recalibrating the screens because there were several shots we took that just didn't register on the screen I guess ... and his response was " man that shit costs like 4 thousand to do". The same bartender walked by us at 0820 and reminded us that we only had 10 mins remaining ... we all mentioned to him that we started late due to your last group , and he stated "sorry there's nothing we can do about it ". It is also dog friendly. Pretty much dirt trails, so after rains, it can get muddy, but we are in Texas, so that only happens occasionally. You can get several miles in on the various trails. Others are friendly and willing to point you in the right direction. I've been here a couple of times now and enjoyed both times. I do recommend hiking with someone else in case of emergencies. You never know when you might come across a snake, so be safe!
