Had a great lunch experience here! Stopped for a casual lunch and it was exactly what we were looking for. The salads were amazing, french fries were hot and cooked perfectly, and the chili came with so many chips which was a fun surprise we didn't expect. Service was fast and friendly. It's a no frills type of spot. The music & TVs are loud but it's what you expect from a dive bar/tavern spot. We could have a conversation just fine, but wanted to throw it out there cause some people don't love it. I'd absolutely come back next time I'm in Quincy.

I can't believe that Hancock Tavern was not on Yelp's list! This definitely is a hidden gem obviously. The atmosphere is a pub feel. Everyone knew each other and were very nice & helpful. The food...oh the food...delicious!! TV's everywhere! Separate bathrooms for men & woman. Very clean. Mostly older people. But from what I've learned...grey hair equals great prices & food. I had delicious onion rings & a pub style Hamburger & mushroom pizza. Excellent! Hancock Tavern...I posted the wrong name.

I came here after lunch hour. There's no server, only 1 bartender who was serving 10+ people. Food also took 20 minutes to be served. The bar area was spacious and there's many big screen TVs. I ordered black and blue burger with green tea martini. Burger was cooked medium well done and a bit chewy. The cocktail is far below my expectation. The place is not too loud and definitely not intimate.

$5 beers on draft. HUGE PORTIONS. Got the buffalo tenders which were bomb & burger with onion rings. Recommend. Casual vibes.

Formerly known as The Townshend, this Quincy local restaurant is the best place for exceptional service, fantastic food, creative cocktails and am Ambiance that will sure impress any date. This might be my 3rd or 5th review because why not! When you find a place that you love you brag about it. For starters we shared their fried pickles with their homemade ranch dressing. We also love their stuffed dates. For entrees, I had their Salmon which is always cooked to perfection. My husband's had their Steak Frites which he enjoyed very much. Dessert is always a tough choice since all of them are excellent but this time we went with their brownie sundae. After plenty of glasses of wine and some dirty martinis let's just say we didn't want to leave but it was getting late. If you have never been to Dotty's or their other restaurants I highly recommend checking them out! Cheers

Walked in and it wasn't busy, pretty dimly lit insides but I appreciated that there were plenty of tvs to watch the games. Plenty of seating by the window, bar top and booths. For starters it took forever for the waitress to bring waters, that I had to ask for. When we asked basic questions about the menu, Laura acted as if we were bothering her. She forgot to put in drinks and then go upset that the food I ordered wasn't up to par. Philly egg rolls - 4/10 they are definitely pre made, like weeks in advance most likely because they were so rubbery and hard to even bite. I mentioned this to the waitress and she demanded that they remake them vs me not wanting them anymore. (We ordered two orders of them and I only sent one back) Calamari 2/10 -it was soggy and then drenched in like a nasty marinara sauce. We made the waitress aware of this as well and she had it remade although I specifically stated I didn't want it, and would even still pay for it. Lamb burger 6/10 -the lamb was juicy but could use a little more flavor. The fries were soggy but okay BYO burger 3/10 - wasn't prepared as we asked, and it really just taste like ground beef and that's all. Even with the added toppings Cowboy burger 7/10 - wasn't bad but if it didn't have onion rings etc on it then it would taste bland like the other burger Lamb lollipops - 8/10 - these were good and had a decent amount of flavor to them. The jalapeños on the side are extremely spicy and good "Buffalo chicken" nachos 3/10 - there was barely any Buffalo chicken on the nachos, they seem to put the shredded cheese on the chips and then melt the so they're hard to pull apart. On top of tasting stale. I used the jalapeños from the lamb to eat with nachos to give them more flavor Salmon w/ jasmine rice 7.5/10- the salmon was a little dry but paired well with the jasmine rice. Could use a little sauce on the side but it was good Sweet heat wings 8/10 - these were really good and were cooked well. The sauce isn't too spicy and just the right amount of sweetness Drinks - Blueberry limeade 2/10 - taste like juice and had to go to the bar to ask for it because the waitress didn't put it in. When I went to ask the bartender if the drink was ready, since I couldn't find the waitress, she made the drink on the spot for me. Apple cider margarita - 5/10 wasn't horrible but the rim on the glass was excessive and mainly taste of cider.

Sunday Brunch Buffet…read more I was impressed with the brunch buffet, and Mason's in general. The restaurant was stunning and everyone loves sn open view if the kitchen. The buffet was epic- perfectly cooked baked eggs, bacon hash, and scrambled eggs were all uniquely prepared and excellent. The star of the show sat in the middle of the table with generous portions of prime rib were carved and hand salted on your plate. The buffet line continued with a lox platter, crudité, omelets to order, and a variety of up scale pastries. There was literally nothing on the buffet that was not noteworthy. We loved our drinks (bloody & cinnamon toast brunch) while the GM came over to chat. Our waitress Cheyanne was on point and helped us decide on our juice choices for the Bucket of Bubbles that rounded out our drink order. Excited to try dinner at this place, and would not be surprised if brunch reservations start to fill up far in advance.

There is no reason to make a table wait 10 to 15 minutes to get their drinks when the bar is 50 feet from the table and we can clearly see there are 3-4 people behind the bar not doing anything. The food is not made upon ordering. I tried to order the penne vodka without the bacon in the sauce. I was told that "that's the way it comes." So it was pretty clear that the cook is not making any sauce when you order it. (This isn't a red sauce that takes hours.) The pasta is from a box so the prices that they charge for it are not justified. Overly loud Spanish love ballad music was playing at 5 PM in this nearly empty restaurant. Between that and the gigantic white feather decorations just over my partner's head I would say the vibes were off. My partner had seen this restaurant while walking around and thought it could be a good place to try out. He was pretty upset that the restaurant was so meh and that he took me there for my birthday. After doing a quick TikTok search, I was prompted to try out this chicken sandwich from Rubato. We walked over and actually missed it on the street because it's so tiny. We walked in and it was the most casual, laid-back establishment. The green color scheme and plants gave it a more earthy vibe, which I absolutely loved. Since we didn't necessarily know what to order we decided to split the fried chicken bolo. When I tell you, I have not stopped thinking about that sandwich since I ate it, I'm not kidding. Ever since Double Chin Restaurant in Chinatown closed (may she rise again), I've been on a mission to find a worthy fried chicken bolo bao. My friend and I trudged into Rubato on a cold, rainy day, hoping for a replacement. Spoiler alert: we did not find one. We ordered four items: rice rolls with curry fish balls, an egg custard lava bun, Ovaltine French toast, and the fried chicken bolo bao. The rice rolls were mild but fine, topped with enough cilantro and scallion to keep it interesting. The lava bun was hot, gooey, and did its job. (GOOD JOB, LAVA BUN!) The Ovaltine French toast? Eh, it aite. But here's the heartbreak: the chicken bolo bao. The chicken wasn't hot; it had that "sat around" feeling. And the bun? Just a dressed-up brioche, missing that true bo lo bao magic. A brioche bun with a crackly top is not a bo lo bao, my dudes. In short, everything was edible, but nothing made me want to come back. (It's not like watching like a hawk for an empty seat and swooping in the moment one opens up is any fun.) The chicken deserved better.
