We started with Bang Bang Cauliflower, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Shrimp Cocktail, and every appetizer was a great choice. The girls ordered an Aperol Spritz, an Espresso Martini, and a soda water with lime while I kept it simple with a Bud Light. For dinner, Jamie and I both ordered the steak tips with mashed potatoes and spinach. The steak tips were cooked perfectly, and the Parmesan mashed potatoes were especially good. Regen enjoyed the avocado salad with chicken, while Cheryl had filled up on appetizers and happily shared some bites from my plate. The food easily earns 5 stars. Everything we ordered was delicious. I'd give the atmosphere 4 stars. It was comfortable, lively, and a great place to spend a couple of hours catching up. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star overall experience was the service. I'd give that 3 stars. Perhaps our waitress was new or simply having an off night, but she was very inattentive. Several times she walked past our table without checking in while we were waiting to order more drinks, place our appetizer order, and later our dinner order. I would even call out to her and she just walked by. The good news is that it didn't put a damper on the evening. We were having such a great time talking, laughing, and celebrating that the slow lack of service was easy enough to overlook. Overall, I'd give Brick & Beam 4 stars. Great food, a nice atmosphere, and despite the service hiccups, we had a wonderful night celebrating Jamie's birthday. The sauce isn't too spicy and just the right amount of sweetness Drinks - Blueberry limeade 2/10 - taste like juice and had to go to the bar to ask for it because the waitress didn't put it in. When I went to ask the bartender if the drink was ready, since I couldn't find the waitress, she made the drink on the spot for me. Apple cider margarita - 5/10 wasn't horrible but the rim on the glass was excessive and mainly taste of cider.

Not 4 stars for The Fours~…read more When you think of The Fours you think sports bar, cold beer, pub food, and loud Tvs playing all the popular New England sports. The Fours was good once, but not this time. We went on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. It was not crowded at all which we liked. Our bartender Brian did not seem to be happy at all when he greeted us, but that was ok. Sometimes even servers have bad days and we just let it go. After ordering drinks we shared their Buffalo Fingers appetizer. I always loved this appetizer. It was still good but felt the chicken was a bit on the chewy side. Then, for entrees, I always get their Chopped Salad with Salmon on it. Their Chopped salad always tastes so good and with a big portion I usually bring the rest home. First off, the Salmon was overcooked and dry and I was so upset since I was craving a good piece of Salmon. The salad was still decent. My husband had their Hot Pastrami sandwich and this was excellent. His order always comes out perfect LOL! The good thing is when I told Brian about my fish he felt bad and compted the whole salad which was very nice of him. I will say I do like sitting on their patio when the warmer weather is here with a glass of wine, an app and people watch. The one issue we had was we ordered dessert and the kitchen forgot that it was in the oven and burned it After 20 minutes after we ordered it, we asked the waitress to check on it and she came back and reported that they had burned it and wants to know if we wanted it redone or just cancel the order. We had it redone. I was surprised, however, that it was still included in the bill and they made no effort to adjust the bill for the error and the inordinate delay.
