Small local bar. Friendly people. Limited menu. On a busy highway that connects Greenville and Johnson City.

The serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the day. It's a little disconcerting when you pull up to my the entrance and slightly more as you step in the dining room. But the place, though worn, is spotlessly clean. The food that they prepare is all scratch made to order. So don't be impatient it's well worth the wait. My wife had corn dogs and fries. The corn dogs had a wonderful crunchy cornmeal crust that reminded me of my childhood (I'm pushing 70). I had the patty melt that had a very tasty yet unknown cheese that was so melty that I loved the sandwich. This place is a little out of the way but if you are anywhere near Johnson City it's worth the effort.

The pancakes were just ok.... They made the batter as we ordered it so it didn't have time to absorb the flour so it wasn't all that good. He said he would try a burrito next time. I loved my biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a darker color but the sausage was so flavorful and it was light in pepper which I like because I don't like pepper. The biscuit was a really great size and fluffy. The bacon is not thick cut but still Crispy and good, eggs were cooked nicely. Now on to the cheddar rounds..... I try these all over but these are the absolute closest you will get to the Pals version. They were lacking the season salt which would have made them taste like Pals. Over all I was very happy and will definitely be back!!! Also the prices were good (pic of menu (included)

They now have a full bar which they didn't have when I wrote my last review. What a nice touch. The owner was nice enough to make my sisters a pitcher of sangria to enjoy. He mixed up some delicious expresso martinis for my friend and I. We ordered the firecracker shrimp and the Brussel sprouts. Both were fantastic!! I ordered the Sirloin with a caesar salad and potatoes. My friend ordered the overmountain chicken and she said it was fantastic. I honestly can't remember what my sisters ordered b/c we just chatted and laughed the whole dinner. I loved my steak and it was cooked perfectly. The caesar was also really good and I'm a caesar snob since my husband makes his own dressing...this matched up to his perfectly...so delicious!! Our server was extremely nice, prompt and really appeared happy to work here. The owner was as always the nicest and attentive person on the floor and he is just so kind. I love that everyone who works here really are top notch. From the second you walk in the door you feel like you've arrived at their family home for a wonderful meal. We all left very full and so happy. I can't wait to return.

The steaks were overcooked, the chicken was dry and the Brussels were dry. We even waited 25 minutes for our desserts to come. Clearly something has happened over the last few years as it is not like it used to be. We are not big drinkers but to let your liquor license lapse seems like very poor management. We gave it a second chance since our last bad experience and this was the last time. I really hate it because we need good places in this area but for the prices they charge this is nowhere near worth it.

It's now under new ownership and there are changes to the menu, but in a good way. It now has Asian items on the menu, which I'm excited to try next time. My husband and I had the smash burgers, which were excellent. The fries were crispy and delicious. My son had the 4 oz sirloin and collard greens. His steak was cooked perfectly and the collards were some of the best we have had! There is no liquor by the drink sales in Hot Springs, so I was impressed by the sake margarita. I'll be craving that again for sure! The ambiance of this place is different since the flood. I hated that the original bar, floors, and booths got destroyed, but they did a very good job with the decor. The bar is much bigger now and the space feels more open. This place is run by a sweet family that recently moved here. It seems like everyone pitches in. I'm excited to stay in the inn. I hope they do well so they can expand. We will definitely be back to support!

I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. It was perfect. It was served over potato which initially I thought was odd but they were some of the best mashed style potatoes I've ever had. ( I couldn't figure what they put in them). The sauce was homemade by using Heirloom tomatoes so it gave it a unique flavor and color that was very enjoyable. Over all this was a great experience and we look forward to going back again soon. What a great vision by the new owners

It started out with my glass of wine, which was $18 and looked to be about a 4 ounce pour. The focaccia appetizer was very good. We sat there waiting for a good 30 minutes, excited to eat. My son ordered a burger and fries. The burger was OK, but the french fries were cooked so much that they were hollow inside. They were really bad. My husband and I split the pasta special and it was honestly terrible. It tasted like Campbell's tomato soup, and there was a very small amount of ground sausage in it. My other son got the mushroom papardelle. The mushrooms were good, the pasta seemed house made but was overall not very tasty and it was stuck together. The sauce was ok. On the plus side, the atmosphere was beautiful. very cozy and inviting. The waitress was very nice. If the food and portions could be caught up with the atmosphere, this place would be a winner for sure, but they've got a ways to go in my opinion. We don't mind paying for good food but this was not it.

The indoor seating is gorgeous with a cabin environment and is in direct view of the kitchen where you can see the cooks while they're preparing your meal. The wait staff is friendly and very attentive. When we arrived, the deck was at half capacity and there wasn't anyone that chose to sit indoors with it being an unusually warm day in March. When we left, the deck was at full capacity, the indoor seating was bustling but the wait staff never missed a beat. It took less than 15 minutes to get our food after ordering but you're greeted with rolls and some amazing garlic butter when you're seated. The food, the best food I've ever had in a restaurant!! The sautéed green beans seasoned perfectly, the grilled chicken sandwich was just right with a decent sized piece of juicy chicken! The ribs fell off the bone, the fried okra and broccoli, yum!! This will be my go-to anytime I venture into Tennessee.

Also, make sure to park in the designated direction and not sideways, as I noticed another vehicle being parked that way as well. There is a "No Parking" sign directly in front of the building, but additional signage near the first and second trees would help make the parking restrictions clearer. As for the food, I ordered the crab sandwich and was disappointed. It lacked flavor, and I encountered several pieces of crab shell while eating it. My daughter ordered the pulled pork sandwich and really enjoyed it. She wasn't a fan of the mac and cheese, finding it bland, but the mashed potatoes were very good. One thing to note is that they do not serve breakfast, and the menu appears to remain the same rather than changing throughout the day.
