The table had a paper over the sheet so that was a plus. Conversation was easy and not forced. Maria is the real deal. It hurt like hell. I wish I'd used that numbing cream she sells in the front first. I found myself in some weird positions, but she acted like a mother changing a diaper for the bazillionth time. It was nothing to her. Wow, what a weird analogy. I don't wear diapers, FYI. I assumed all brazilians were very thorough and they charged extra for numbing or something. Stupid little me. Well, I was surprised how quick it was. A few little hairs were left here and there. I was told most salons use tweezers or re-apply the wax strip quickly and it removes most of the remaining hairs. I had to go home and touch up and wash some wax off. All in all, I'm going to say it was the BEST place to get a brazilian. She charges WAY less than ANYone I've seen. Also, I don't know if this is supposed to be a secret or not... But after you've received a brazilian from Maria once, she charges you $35 instead of $50 for every visit thereafter. Nice, eh? Within 2 hours, I was on my way to an appointment. Long story short, I loved her and the facial! She's young but has five or six years experience as an esthetician. She really seems to care about the client's skin. When I arrived, we talked about the current state of my skin, skin history and what I was looking for. She looked my skin over, gave some recommendations, and then got to work. Because it was a more of a cleansing/extracting type facial, it wasn't the most relaxing experience ever, but she really got in there and took care of business, which is what I was looking for. I also loved that she didn't try to push any products on me. She explained that while she prefers organic products, at the end of the day, she looks out for the best interests of her clients, which means that in some cases she'll recommend OTC stuff, sometimes organic stuff or sometimes plain minerals. All in all, this was the least expensive yet most comprehensive facial I've had in town.

I google searched places, did some research, saw Kristins amazing reviews and I booked her. I opted for the Gentleman's Retreat Facial. The reason being my face was a mess for my first time. So, she had to do some somewhat unpleasant things to it to make she she got in deep where all the issues were. The bonus was the neck and shoulder massage every step of the way while my face had on a different treatment mask. She sold me on the combo facial and 60 minute massage next time. They were holding up, but she NEEDED to fix a few stragglers separating from the herd. She gave me facial upkeep tips, and was very informative all around.
