First time here and wow! Was I impressed. From the moment I booked the appointment on the website I was super excited. I originally had an appointment for the last week of March and then Covid hit. Kaylyn was so informed and upfront about needing to reschedule due to shut downs in the city. I knew I was in the right hands and that she took safety very seriously. Being in quarantine for almost 2 months I vowed to her that I wouldn't touch my eyebrows. Oh boy were they almost a unibrow! After making the appointment I got a confirmation email that made it super easy to add to my iPhone calendar and planner. The day before I got a reminder email which was also nice just incase you're not obsessed with planning out your time like me you can get reminded with a cute email with directions, your appointment time and the total for the services you booked. The salon it's self is very easy it find, and wow I must say I'm sure not what I was expecting when looking for The Eye Candy Salon suites, but wow! The entrance and lobby are both inviting and beautiful! Due to the current covid restrictions I was met at the door by Kaylyn and she walked me back to her suite. The whole vibe of the suite was both energetic and relaxing, there was so much to adore and look at! The music was upbeat and had a very happy sunshine filled day vibe to it. Kaylyn went over a few questions and asked some safety questions about allergies and such which I have never been asked about when getting my eyebrows waxed before which made me question all my past years of going to other places. I felt VERY safe and reassured by her asking these important questions. After signing some paperwork we got down to business! Kaylyn works with such grace and persistence I honestly felt like I was a work of art being painted. Some people say waxing hurts and in my personal opinion it just stings a tad, but Kaylyn made sure that I was ok and kept making sure that I wasn't in pain. She asked about how I would like my brows to look and me not knowing a damn thing about them didn't know what to say. She made some suggestions and I agreed and let me tell you I've never felt so confident about my brows. Also being in quarantine I didn't bother tweezing my upper lip area and I've never gotten it waxed before today. I will never use tweezers again. The TL;DR- Do yourself a favor and book your appointment to see Kaylyn! I myself have never gotten any eyebrow services done in fear of an unintentional 90s revival but after ogling over my friend's brows (who also sees Kaylyn), I figured I'd give it a shot. Making the appointment is super easy to do online and you'll get confirmations & texts to remind you of the time. My services were eyebrow shaping with tweezers & brow tint and upper lip tweezing. I had told her that I hate the arches in my brows and that I make them as straight as possible for the shape. She took that into consideration and plucked away! I use retinol on my face and she suggested to forgo the waxing to prevent any skin damage which I greatly appreciated. Hair plucking sucks in general but she still had a gentle touch and she is speedy with the tweezers! She was so detailed with them too. I'm pretty sure she got every hair on my lip. My mustache stood no chance! For my brows, she really took the time to perfect them too and make them clean and even. I have dark hair but being that it was my first time tinting, I didn't want to go too dark with it. I asked for dark brown color with a fade towards the front of the brows. You know, the Instagram brows. She gave me a heads up that the color wouldn't last long with my dark hair but it was no big deal for me. I cannot tell you how much I loved my brows after she was through with them. I honestly never knew my brows were capable of looking like they did. The tint faded and they still looked bomb! Not only is she a knowledgeable wax captain, she's a magician! She definitely worked some magic on my brows! Kaylyn is incredibly sweet, knowledgeable and talented. A triple threat if you will. She's forthcoming with what to expect and makes sure that you're not in for unwanted surprises. Though I was certainly surprised with my brows afterwards and gave a "Daaaaaaamn" when she handed me the mirror (it was a good "damn"). Anything done to your face should be handled with care and the technician should treat it like it's their own face. Kaylyn did exactly that and I'm confident you would feel the same if you see her. :) **EDIT- Wanted to come back and add that I "jumped the plank" and got my first Brazilian wax with Kaylyn! If you're nervous about waxing bellow deck, it's honestly not that bad. It's definitely a religious experience, NGL. Going to echo the same sentiments that she's dang awesome and again made it as quick and painless as possible. kaylyn was an excellent human being to meet! she is wonderful with answering all and any questions i personally had, and has her own cute room inside of eye candy salon. i personally did the below deck brazilian -- if you are looking for a place to go, she uses a mix of soft and hard wax: softwax towards the top, and hardwax as she moves towards the central part of the brazilian. i waited writing my review to make sure she did not break my hairs--she did a beautiful job! she did an amazing job also walking me through the process! i even saw my strip with all my hair bulbs. they were definitely, very ripped out of my pores. my skin also did not lift either! she was very thorough! she also has little wipes in the room, and her room was very clean! i rebooked and i am so excited to see her again in good couple of weeks for my follow-up appointment! if you are okay with softwax being applied to your brazilian area--i highly suggest seeing her! and i am very excited to be able to update this further when i can see her for the rest of my waxing needs--when all my hair grows back. read more
