I've found that communicating with her has really elevated my own healing, and she's willing to work with you to focus on the specific knots you'd like to work on while also providing feedback on other areas that your body is communicating needs work. She also asks you what your chiropractor (if you see one) has mentioned needs work so that she can work cohesively with your doctors to create a custom health plan that works to restore your body. As someone who has hypermobility issues, chronic pain, and frequent muscle and joint injuries, Suzanne's careful administration of anatomical knowledge as well as how to loosen the angry, inflamed muscles has been integral in getting my body back in balance. I came in because my tailbone and right hip were painful to move or even touch, and in just 3 sessions she was able to focus intently on those specific muscle areas and untangle a good portion of the aches away! She's incredibly flexible to work with, responsive with texts, and overall cares for your well-being. Basically just rubbing oil everywhere for over a hundred dollars. After 1 hour had already passed, I asked politely if she could focus on the areas in my back I mentioned were tight the whole reason I was getting a massage and she was kind of defensive and said that my body was resisting the massage and she would end up hurting herself and me because she is petit, which I understand, but I have had no problem with any deep tissue massage before. The way she talked to me her tone left me feeling uncomfortable so I ended the massage early. I will return to my previous deep massage places instead. A few years ago, I had really bad knots in my back and tightness in my shoulders from bad posture and sitting at a desk all day. I used to go from masseuse to masseuse, asking for deep tissue massages to try to alleviate some of the pain- but sometimes it would make it even worse! Suzanne was the first masseuse that really listened to me and my muscles, and has really made a difference in how I feel day to day. In fact, after the first time I saw her, she explained that my muscles respond better to a lighter touch, so she knocked down the price from a deep tissue to a Swedish massage.
