Since the call went to VM and I was advised to send a message, I did that with photos of my front door lock (which was giving trouble in opening from inside and it was loosened a bit). Andy went above and beyond to fix a doorknob that was a latch tongue frozen shut in latch plate preventing opening of door. He had the tools to lift door while closed and push latch back to get door opened. He not only installed a new door knob, but also adjusted the face plate for the deadbolt. Wow! Five stars are not enough for the wonderful and amazing service we received from Handy Andy. My wife and I were on babysitting duty with the grandkids and notice that our daughter's front door didn't close properly. Unfortunately, our 22 month old Houdini also noticed it as wandered out the front door on his own two or three times. Talk about dangerous! We called Andy and he was so nice that he took pity on a couple of grandparents who were not as fast as their nearly two year old grandson. He arrived within about a half hour, dismantled the door handle assembly and had it perfect working order in no time. Granted, he is NOT going to be able to provide that speedy response but the point is that he is an able repair generalist who is a true mechanic, not a parts changer. A locksmith would have sold us a new door handle assembly for a few hundred dollars and charged for installation while Handy Andy fixed what we had and literally made it as good as new. Andy responded quickly to repair our original lock set from 1928. I filled out a Yelp request for service. He was the only person willing to tackle it. Two other companies declined , another didn't respond. He spend a considerable amount of time to troubleshoot it. Then he manufactured an obsolete replacement part and installed it the same day! We now also have a key for the first time ever for this lock. Another professional locksmith looked at it prior, but just recommended to replace it at a cost multiple times larger then the repair.
