One of the rails on a kitchen drawer broke, and at my age, 83, I was not able to repair it myself. As luck would have it, I noticed a Handy Havy truck parked outside, so I walked over and asked the occupant, Steven, if he might be interested in a small job. He said yes. I showed him the broken drawer rail, and he said he could fix it and quoted a very reasonable price. I have work with Javi in the past, the last project I had him work on he didn't do a great job, but what could I expect considering he was cheaper than all the other handyman. I called him to replace a door along with the frame, initially he made a mistake with the first door, he went to Home Depot exchanged it. The second one when he was installing he said "oh oh" and I said what happened. He said nothing. once the door was installed. I noticed that there was a gap between the floor And the door frame, when I questioned him about it. He said my floors were slanted, common sense, if the floor was slanted then one side of the door frame should be cut longer than the other. He knew there was a gap so he filled it in with caulking. It looked terrible so I had to call someone else to come and fix it. I asked him to refund me what I paid the person to fix. He said he would, then his wife who is not so nice said no they were not refunding me that I should have given him a chance to fix. why would I give him a chance when his "fixing" was filling in the gap which was about an inch and a half with caulking? so I just went with someone else. they decided not to refund me so I will no longer be using Havy. He doesn't do terrible work, but he is not the best. He is not detailed. read more

Javier deserves 10 stars! He redesigned and remodeled my Mom's downstairs bathroom. I don't know how he did it but he was able to redesign it so my Mom, now 86, could a shower chair in the shower. It is lovely but also safe and functional with more storage. He also remodeled and redesigned a guest bathroom upstairs that is used by the grandchildren. He removed the bathtub and designed a custom shower and it is stunning. It was a small bath tub so difficult to shower in and now is a larger shower that the grandchildren love. He added a bathroom pantry to keep all of their belongings to keep it clean and organized. Kimberli, his wife, should be a full-time designer because she recommended all the tile and colors and they are perfect. All three bathrooms are gorgeous and it is hilarious everyone who visits wants to see the bathrooms. Not only is Javier beyond talented but he is a delight and so kind. For 30 years my mom had an electrical cord across a doorway, which is unsightly and unsafe, and honestly we never thought about it but Javier offered to make it safer for my Mom and he said it was no charge it was his idea because it was a tripping hazard and he fixed the wiring and no more cord across the door. What an angel! It is a family business and he treats every project like it is for his personal home or his Mom. The team is talented, professional, and delightful -- trust me, I know about remodels - we completely demolished our home including the foundation in 2006 and the entire house was rebuilt. Wow, where do I begin. I had multiple projects to complete in my home. I needed to put new floors in a bedroom with a new fan, remodel one half bath, and freshen up a sink. Havy is a really nice handyman. He helped install our ceiling fans and mount a TV. He came with a helper and they hooked up the fans differently, so I have three that turn on one way, and three that turn on another. Not really a problem, just a nuisance. The tv mount was fine but he didn't account for the arm so it was off center about six inches. He said he couldn't fix it, so we ended having to hire a different handyman who could. read more

I needed a drain pipe corrected that the previous owner had sticking our three feet from the wall and 4 feet high in the middle of the garage. No clue why or what it was for but it was leaking and in the way. I was referred to Havy by a personal friend. I contacted him to set up an appointment for an estimate. Havy came out on time and we planned out the project. Havy then asked if we could get it done this Sunday! (What handy man works the weekend?!?!?) Handy Havy (Javier) is, without exaggeration, one of the main reason's for the success of my real estate investment business. He's been working for me for about 7 years. He is a true artist. He walks into a room and right away sees the what it should look like. Here's my advice: Havy knows better. If you think it should be this way and he thinks it should be that way then do it his way! His prices are super low and he'll never try to talk you into a bigger job b/c he wants the money. He truly believes in his heart that it should be done right and he obsesses about making it look nice for you. Note: he's a bit flaky on timing. If he says he's going to be there at 10am on tuesday and you need to take off of work to meet him then you better confirm that the night before b/c he might not show up until thursday!
