Very disappointing experience. I visited this dealership twice to look at vehicles that were not actually available. During my most recent visit, the team ran my credit before even confirming that the vehicle was still in inventory. As a result, I had a hard inquiry on my credit report for no reason. To make matters worse, I have been requesting the financing details for quite some time, including the interest rate and the terms I qualified for, and no one has provided that information. If you're going to run a customer's credit, the least you can do is communicate the financing results. The lack of organization, communication, and respect for the customer's time has been extremely frustrating. This is not the level of service I expected from a Hyundai dealership, and I hope they improve their processes so other customers don't have the same experience. read more

got in the middle of March and now another issue pouring out coolant can't get a hold of them about my contract to see if they want to help fix anything after already buying a $500 battery not to mention I was told my vehicle would be tagged license plates finally came in last month. Guess what I have to pay for the tags for this year so I'm out $500 for the fix. I had to do myself because nobody returns my calls and I refuse to talk to the disrespectful general manager he's good to fast talk you and put you down then I have to purchase my own tags after buying a new vehicle and having a $500 car payment now I'm going to have a nice mystery fix with the coolant pooling out. Called again today and still cannot get a hold of the finance contractor that helped with my contract. Wish I would've read the reviews and bought a car off the street before I came to them a mother of four working her self tirelessly at the hospital now has to pick up even more overtime to fix a vehicle that should never have issues the same year of buying let alone a couple months after. read more

Prior to visit salesman comfirmed that all I would write a check for a $$$ amount (I have it in my text). Its really messed up what they are doing to people. Should be illegal. Just got done with routine service, that went fast, only for them to tell me that my tires need to be changed at 14,000 miles. Haven't had the car but only a little over a year. And let me say David was so rude. First question I asked when I walked in the door was "the least amount of miles should I have to change my tires" he said maybe 20,000. And then looked at my miles and said "oh you must be stopping and going a lot." Then I asked for number to call because he was no help and instead of him writing it down he showed me his computer screen to take picture of the number. Then he would not write down his name for me. So please please do not buy any cars from them. Yes sales department is good but if the car needs service repairs like you will, you will be paying them a lot!! read more

My experience with Hanford Hyundai was infuriating and unprofessional. I was in the final stages of purchasing a vehicle. I had already signed the contract when they went ahead and sold the car to someone else. When I called to ask what happened, the general manager didn't offer any apology or reasonable explanation. Instead, he told me, "Procrastination has consequences," even though I had been actively communicating and their own pricing numbers weren't finalized. This was not a simple miscommunication. It felt like a bait-and-switch followed by outright condescension. The dealership showed zero respect for my time, no integrity in honoring agreements, and no basic courtesy in how they handled the situation. The entire experience came off as shady, dismissive, and deliberately unclear. I strongly recommend avoiding Hanford Hyundai. No deal is worth being treated like this. 09/05/23 If I could give this place less than one star, I would. Car dealerships all have a terrible reputation for having lying, manipulative sales people, and I was dreading having to deal with one, but I'm 73 years old and my 21-year-old car is on its last legs and I desperately needed a car - soon. I have had two car accidents in the last three months, neither of them my fault, and now am suffering from a herniated disc and two other bulging discs in my neck. I already had back problems so due to my age and my health I had some particular requirements in a car, and had not been able to find the right one until I saw a 2019 Honda HR-V EX-L at this dealership. I asked to test drive it and did, and it was exactly what I had been looking for. I told the salesman named Alex that I wanted the car, but I had to double check with my bank about how much disposable cash I had to put down and that I would call them in a little while. He didn't say anything negative to me about that, which is unusual, because they usually won't let you leave and they tell you that they won't hold the car and they'll sell it to someone else if they come in - all of those threatening things used car salesmen tell you to manipulate you. In any case, I called about an hour or so later and told him I had everything squared away, and I was ready to come in to sign the papers. Alex said he was just getting off work and asked if I could come in the next day at 1:00 pm so I made an appointment to do that. I was so excited! Here's where things got really, really horrible: I was just getting ready to walk out the door to go there, 20 minutes before my appointment to sign the papers and pick up the car, when I received a call from Alex who said not to come because the car had been sold. I said "What? You can't do that! We had an agreement and an appointment in 20 minutes for me to go sign the papers and pick it up!" And he just said "well it's been sold." I asked him why and he said "it's been sold". I was dumbfounded and speechless, so I just hung up. I was so shocked and so disappointed I was in tears. I just couldn't believe that anyone would do anything like this to someone, and with no explanation whatsoever at the very last minute. I had looked so long and hard for a car that would suit my disability needs, which had been a lengthy physically and mentally exhausting task, and I had been truly thrilled and excited about finding this one. Do not take your car here to be serviced. I was told that they needed to do a tear down. I asked the service department staff Lisbeth if I could speak to the mechanic to ask some questions. She refused and said I couldn't talk with the mechanic. She also had no knowledge of what he did with my car or what he checked. We were touring the place, sitting down for the price, thought everything was good. They told us one price, but then they added all sorts of optional fees and told us they were mandatory. More than that, when I asked about the increase in price they doubled down and said they were mandatory or straight up lied, making up stuff like "oh its the taxes, they recently increased" when it was literally an extra charge under (optional). You can buy here, but they will lie about the money, and add anything they can get away with. read more

This place is horrible! Everyone told me do not buy a Hyundai and if you do don't buy it from Hanford Hyundai you will have nothing but problems. Their sales people are rude and deceptive and manipulative and if you need repairs they will take you for every penny you have. Which is exactly what happened to me I bought a Hyundai not from them but from a car lot in Hanford and with me only owning it a few months the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors went out which I took to them to have replaced. I bought the parts myself at their parts counter and had them install them. I was told I did not need to pay for a diagnostic inspection or hook it up to their machines because I had taken it to three other mechanics and all other mechanics had the same code come up on their machine. I brought the code to the dealership and they said the right code that's what the problem is so we won't charge you that $230 for the diagnostic to check out your car. I dropped the car off to them at 7:30 a.m. on a Monday morning they told me I was the first person in line and that it would be fixed by the end of the day. I called in the afternoon and it was not done. They told me somebody else had to double-check it and that it would be ready the next morning when I called the next morning at 11:00 a.m. it still had not been completed. Not only that they then told me that they found a bunch of other things wrong with it and showed me pictures of what they found wrong but told me in order for them to fix it each item that they found wrong required a $230 assessment fee so they wanted $560 to look at what they already had pictures of and new what was wrong. Then they said that's not counting Parts labor and whatever else needs to be done once they get in there and starting to work on it. When I asked them for a quote they would not give me one. Then they tried to overcharge me for the services already done. I had already bought my parts needed at their service counter and on the invoice they had charged me for the parts all over again. When I pointed that out they did remove it but the lady that I dealt with who is supposedly the service manager her name was Janelle was so rude and uncaring and cold as a block of ice. I explained to her I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income and don't have unlimited money to spend so I would need to know what it was going to cost me if I get the other repairs done . She looked at me with a Blank Stare and said I don't know and made no effort to try and find out. I wish I would have listened to everybody who told me don't buy a Hyundai and don't go to the Hanford Hyundai dealership for anything but I didn't listen. Worst dealership and worst people I have ever dealt with. All they care about is your money not you. They will manipulate you into getting every penny they can out of you and when you're completely broke they'll leave you with a car that's not fixed after they promised you it would be fixed and even told you it would come with a 12-month or 12,000 Mi warranty on the work they did. Absolutely horrible service in their service department and everything they told me were lies. Then they tried to Gaslight me and tell me they never told me any of that but I had my friend with me who heard everything . I don't recommend anybody buy a vehicle from them or take their vehicle there for Servicing. You will be sorry. Look at their Yelp reviews and look at how many one star reviews they have. Be educated and informed and negotiate from home before going to the dealership. Back to our regular scheduled programming Sales Experience: While my final sales experience at Hanford Hyundai was relatively smooth, I noticed some concerning tactics. The salesperson demonstrated skills that, while polished, felt more aimed at closing a deal than genuinely understanding my needs as a customer. Potential buyers must stay vigilant and not get swept up in a friendly demeanor; there's much more beneath the surface. I later learned that Curtis Reiggleman, the second in charge of the six dealerships owned by the Fahrney automotive group--Hanford Hyundai, Tracy Nissan, Fahrney Ford, Fahrney Buick GMC, Toyota of Selma, and my carpark--creates YouTube videos to teach salespeople how to manipulate customers to "do what they want." This insight added another layer of caution, making me reflect on the strategies employed during my visit. Negotiation and Pricing: During the negotiation, I found that the dealership employed various strategies designed to benefit them only. I faced pressure regarding add-ons like warranties and interest rates; however, with the knowledge I've gained about car buying, I could negotiate $4,000 off the price. This experience taught me the importance of being informed and assertive in such situations. While I ultimately secured a fair deal, it was because i did my homework and knew their sleazy, manipulative tactics and how to overcome them. Not because they run a fair, honest dealership. I encourage others to be cautious and do their homework on how this dealership does business. It's all about making money while "making the customer believe" they are getting a good deal(manipulating/lying). Lastly, Understanding your worth as a customer makes a significant difference in the outcome of your negotiations. When getting there they tried to squeeze in a bunch of dealer accessories, including a $200 alarm system for $1600. I asked for it to be removed, but the sales manager wouldn't budge. Want to shout out this dealership again, but this time for their service department. My car had a parasitic drain. Took about 3-4 days for them to be able to tackle the root of the problem, but they were ultimately able to find the problem. My car was under warranty so that was nice. I appreciate the service department for keeping me updated and informed of what progress or steps needed to be made. When I went to pick up my car, I felt good knowing that the car was in good hands. They even apologized for the drainage as it was sporadic and random for a new vehicle.
