Umm...food- not that great, had a frozen patty based burger and breakfast offering price- not that great, about $25 service- good, nice staff and accommodating with mask wearing which I appreciate Ambiance: not restaurants fault but had cig smoker on our patio blowing my our direction. What I really loved about this place was the ambiance and vibe. It's a classic country diner vibe with a fun local airport atmosphere. Food is basic and burgers are obviously frozen patties. But not bad if you set your culinary expectations to a realistic level. Prices are a bit too high for the quality of food imo. I got the hanger burger which was quantity over quality. Waitresses are sweetharts. We've been there four times. Problem, breakfast food does not come out hot enough. Eggs luke warm, beans the same, i had to send back biscuit & gravy because not hot. Delicious! Small little airport cafe. You can watch the planes from inside, as well as a patio outside. Service was friendly and prompt. Hubster and I ate here yesterday morning. He had the Runaway and I had the Kentucky Hot Brown. Both were perfectly cooked and very filling. Well worth the drive for us. We will be back. read more

Tiny eatery with GREAT food and EXCELLENT service. You are greeted upon "arrival", your coffee cup is never empty and bid farewell upon departure. Place is decorrated with plane memorabilia and pictures. I like the fact the coffee mugs are unique and change with seasons. read more

I work in Hemet every day but happened to be there on a Saturday with my son and decided to check this place out. Pass it everyday and never even knew it existed. Tiny place right on the airport grounds but full of personality. I ordered the banana nut French toast and it was yummy. My son had a tuna melt and enjoyed it. Great service, cute decor inside and fun to watch planes go by or park in the parking lot so that the pilots can partake of good food. read more

Went this morning 01/16/2026 and upon walk in we had to wait at least 10 minutes to be seated, but there were two groups of people that walked in after us and got seated before we did , it was me and my mother we are too African-American ladies, and you never see anyone of our ethnicity there which is fine by me as long as the food and atmosphere is good, but the waitress gave us 2 small kid water cups, and everyone else had full adult cups, so I already thought that was a little weird and when we got our food we asked for our eggs, soft scrambled they came out well done, and they both had cheese on them. Our pancakes were burnt crisp at the bottom and the hashbrowns were not even a whole serving just a sample for each of our plates and they were raw. The waiter would never even come up to us and ask if we need anything or are we OK? She kind of just paid attention more to everybody else .We left the food there untouched got up and left. The waiter was already treating us like we were last, so I would say if you are a different ethnicity rather than Caucasian, or at least have Caucasian family members with you I would not go there because you will get treated unfairly. read more

Such a cute cafe that will remind you of yesteryear! We were visiting some folks nearby and didn't know about this place. I guess we're the only ones who didn't since I understand it gets very crowded. We arrived at 11am and walked right in. Now at noon, all 9 tables inside are filled so we better git! (You are asked to limit your stay to 45 min due to demand...unless it isn't crowded, I suppose.) So, the history of the building: it was the bunkhouse for the Hemet Airfield and was opened in September 1940. ''14,000 Army Cadets were trained to fly Pt Stearmans in defense of our nation.'' Currently, it is a private airport. In the distance, we saw a plane take off and another land. We would have had a better view if we had sat outdoors. Our waitress said the cafe has been open about 15 years. So, on to the cafe. It really had a nice vibe to it. Quaint. Lots of senior men in military hats and it ''seemed'' like a place where ''every body knows your name.'' It isn't what I'd call bargain prices but I thought it was a good value for what you got. I ordered bacon and eggs. It came with hash browns(or home fries) and either toast, buscuit&gravy, or a pancake. My 4 slices of bacon(crispy) and eggs (over well) came just as I ordered them. $10.45 My breakfast companion had the Deuce's Wild...2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 links or bacon for $8.75. He got the French toast so I guess it's OK to substitute. (I took half of my biscuit&gravy home plus shared part with him along with half of my hash browns...big helpings.) Our server's name was Alana. A very pleasant person and efficient with her job. She hummed and even dance a little while she worked. How often do you see that? She clearly enjoyed being there and made us feel welcomed. We noticed a cat eating at bowls on the patio; the owner and/or staff must be animal lovers too. Extra points for that! Lastly, the decor is, not surprisingly, aviation themed. Fun to see all the stuff hanging on the walls. We'll be back. read more

Absolutely amazing cute little place to go when you are in Hemet. One thing that blew me away was the quick service, they always topped off your coffee and would immediately take the trash from coffee packets of sugar or creamer off the table (sometimes without you noticing). The menu seemed small which is no downer because the food is great; however, experiencing how great this place was I really couldn't get enough and would appreciate new menu items. Still gets 5 stars from me (everything else made up for the small menu) The place is full of nice airplane themed decorations, even with some toy airplanes hanging from the ceiling which looked signed (giving them so much more personality and inherent value). Grew up in the area & had never been here till today. It's a fun little spot where you can eat breakfast & watch planes take off. Hence "Hanger". They have plane memorabilia on all the walls which was cute. We were greeted right upon sitting & we're ordering then eating shortly after. Our server was very attentive. I had the BLT which was light & the perfect little lunch. My table got the chili verde omelette & they said it was pretty darn good. Hidden gem in Hemet. I lived here for 5 years and went for the first time today. Great service, cute establishment, and yummy food. My husband said it was the best bacon he's ever had. I was looking forward to eating here and bringing my husband along so he can experience what I thought was a good experience that I had some time ago. First I called to see if they were busy at 12:45p, 01-20-24, the female who answered said they were not and she didn't know if they would remain open on account that it's slow and raining and not enough business. I thought that was a strange thing to say especially to a customer, it really didn't sound welcoming. I laughed about it and ignored it, thought no problem I would still go. Don't know if rainy days is not there thing but it wasn't a very welcoming environment-- The young woman told us we could sit anywhere and I noticed if they don't know you or if you are not a regular your treatment is not the same. The young woman was not really that talkative didn't really make any conversation but she did ask what we wanted to drink and when asked what the specials were she said she would tell us and gestured towards the other female. That was another strange interaction so just like in a sales interaction she TO'd us. The other person came over and she described the special which was not really appetizing and later she took our order. Anyway, we proceeded to wait for our food and in interim a person came in and she welcomed him with a big smile and asked if others in his party would be coming in because if they weren't she planned to close early because basically it wasn't worth it to her to stay open because at that point she was just paying for the people there. I was dismayed that she would be talking out loud and saying those things. It sounds impolite, ungrateful and unprofessional despite the fact that we are there, she should at least be grateful for our patronage but she seemed negative and disappointed. Later the other people in individual's party joined him and she welcomed them with a very friendly welcome and stood talking to them for a good amount of time, didn't even ask if we wanted refills, I had to wave the young woman to fill my cup. When she told them about the specials she mentioned the sandwich and this time she added another item, some soup, which she had not mentioned to us. I thought to myself why would she not tell us about that, was she only wanting to reserve it for her friends? Don't know and I figured I would just eat what I ordered and the only good thing was that I liked my meal. The whole experience was strange especially for being a small place and only 7 people including ourselves yet they didn't seem to extend the same friendly interaction to us. Anyway, I also wanted to add that the business adds a surcharge or a checkout fee 2%-4% if you use a credit card which by the way I don't know if that was stated anywhere either at the door or on the menu or on the table. I think that's unfair and a sneaky practice. Anyhow, I will say goodbye to Hangar One Cafe and I don't plan on going back there again, too bad not even the tasty french toast is enough to change my mind. read more
