I needed to get my dads old vise fixed and there are no modern fasteners that match it, no match to any known thread pattern. I tried to find something at Hank's because they have basically everything, and I was helped by a tall, very young man with some big hair sticking up, I was suprised by his abilities. After he tried everything possible to fix what I had he suggested that the solution was to change everything over to a known thread pattern. He picked out the bolts, adjustment nuts and washers that would work for me. Hank's is a great place and it's great to see young men, high school age, in there working what's probably their first job. Thank you to the young man with the big hair for all the help, I would have never guessed he was so good at his job! read more

Hank's is great! For example, today I was installing our kitchen sink and was looking for some drain parts and suggestions. As I entered the plumbing section, one of the employees asked me if I needed help and he worked with me for a good 15-20 minutes to figure it out and get the parts I needed. Unlike the big box stores, I really like that they have people working there that know what they're taking about and have real life experience. Also, they have lots of oddball stuff that you just can't find at most places. Their molding shop is awesome! I have been coming here for several years and haven't had any of the negative customer service experiences described by others. Only gripe I have is the limited store hours on weekends, but that's their choice, you just have to deal with it. read more

This is a store that has items that may or may not be found elsewhere. Mainly for nuts/ bolts. There are always employees there, but not looking to be proactive in helping customers. They have very poor customer service. One can be wandering , looking for an item , and the staff is busy doing everything else but helping you. Make sure you know what you need before you go, and be willing to spend time looking for the item you need. Bottom line, nobody in the store cares . So don't expect much in service. read more

Best hardware store in Temecula. I was recommended here by someone at Home Depot who said, "Oh, for items like that you should go to Hank's." Well, I went and quickly found out everything I could ever possibly need is also at Hank's. Everyone there is super helpful. The only issue I have is the hours. Although I do appreciate businesses being closed on Sundays, it's just frustrating when you're doing a Sunday project and can't run over there. Also, they close at 5pm during the week. Even six would be a lot more helpful. They do open early to cater to contractors. read more

Hanks is the place for anything you cant find at the big box stores. I would probably go there more often its just that Lowes and Home Depot are both closer. Everyone there has a ton of knowledge. They know right where things are and if they dont have the part you are looking for they always have a recommendation on how and where to get it. They are by far the most helpful people I have ever worked with in any do it yourself/hardware store. Love this place....but it is not a great place for helpless souls. This is an old fashioned store where you need some working knowledge of hardware. If you do not know what a crescent wrench is...go to Home Depot. This is a professional hardware store. They have everything! (I once waited 10 minutes at Home Depot while two associates and a customer debated the difference in a 3/4 " sprinkler valve and 1". If you do not know- go to Home Depot and waste their time. Hank is a pretty good family owned hardware store but seems to be over staffed. The register ladys are very helpful but the guys in the main store tent to ignore and avoid help you really have to coral them down. The sign in front of the entrance to the store says face masks mandatory but 1/2 the employees don't even wear them Ill be taking my business to lowes and Home Depot from now on. read more

This is my husband's review....I generally don't like to go into any hardware store (just like he hates grocery shopping with me). Needed a bolt/screw for our new microwave and neither Home Depot nor Lowes carried it. This store had everything....total eye candy for my husband. For 20 years I have been going to Hank's Hardware. For 20 years I have been talked down to by the snide and very unprofessional cashiers by the front exit. They are so unfriendly and condescending it is nearly intolerable. Today ( April 6, 2020) at 1:50 pm, I went into the store to buy some supplies for my children. I asked one cashier if they had dowels. She said "no." I asked again for wood dowels. She looked at me with a blank stare. Behind me, at another cashier, I heard a loud voice saying aisle 14!!! As I had been talking to someone else and that cashier was taking care of another client, I did not realize she was yelling at me. I turned around and asked "Is that for me?" She says...."Yes. Aisle 14." Then as I am turning around she says out loud "Jesus Christ." This was directed at me. If you don't want to serve customers with a friendly attitude get another job. read more

Hank's is the best hardware store I have found. They have an amazing selection of hardware and it's always top quality. Several years ago I built a BBQ island in my back yard using steel studs. I purchased everything from Hanks. The self tapping screws I purchased by the pound were excellent. I ended up needing about 20 more screws and purchased some at one of the big stores, those screws were horrible, you had to keep pushing till they would finally wear through the metal. They were so bad I ended up going back to Hanks to get more of the good ones. I recently needed some plywood, I went to Hank's, simply because it is so much easier. Instead of finding a cart, pulling down the plywood yourself and then wheeling it out to your car like you would at other stores. basically meaning you're handling the plywood twice and pushing it all over the place. At Hank's you pick out the plywood you want, they make out a slip, you pay, then pull your vehicle around back and they bring it out and help you load it. Couldn't be easier!!! read more

It they have it on the shelves, you're fine. If you have to special order something, you better know EXACLTY what it is and who to get it from and hope it's someone they have access to. If you want to see what they have available to them and get some help with options, well you're out of luck. You'll just have to guess and hope through trial and error that you guess correctly. They will sit at their computer several feet away looking at their screen which you cannot see and they will give you a yes/no answer on whether they have it. Usually it's "go fish". I came to the store on a Saturday the store hours are 7 to 12:00 p.m. I pulled up at 11:52 and I was getting out of the car and their worker stops me and says they're closed. I pulled up at the same time as two other customers who happened to be caucasian he allowed them to go into the store. I told him it's not 12 o'clock yet. One of the ladies came out and told him all we still have over 5 minutes he said "I don't care I'm closing and did not allow me go in but let the other two gentlemen into the store. I sat in my car and was looking for another hardware store online and another caucasian gentleman pulled up in a truck and the man told him we close at 12pm. The guy looked at his watch and said I have a few minutes. The worker told him to hold on Because he saw that I was pulling out when I drove off and exited the parking lot I looked back and sure enough he allowed him to go in the store. It total discrimination and seems to be racist. NOT OK!!! read more

Like a lot of other reviewers I had a problem with the staff. It's like they don't really want to help customers. I have only been to this store once but I won't be back. It does appear they have everything you could possibly need for repairs. (That's why I give it three stars) But if you can't find something and no one is willing to help, what's the point? I was approached by one employee after just arriving and figured I could find baseboards myself, it's not like they are small. So I didn't ask, but After wandering around for a bit and trying to talk to multiple employees who apparently were all too busy to talk to me I finally found someone and was told to look "out back". Seriously? After wandering around out back, I found the screen shop in a separate building and finally found someone helpful. BTW all baseboards/crown molding are in another building across the street. And of course the employees were busy. I understand busy, but helping the person in front of you instead of paperwork might be a better idea. read more

Came here on a recommendation. Unfortunately, when you ask for assistance it seems as though you are a bother. I asked for an item and was given an aisle number, I had already checked there and mentioned that to the guy helping me. So he tells me to keep looking down the different aisles until I find it. That's cool, if you don't want to do your job but then what is the purpose of employees if they can't help you? Upon leaving, a gentleman came in, he didn't appear to speak english and 2 of the women up front told him "we're closed!" the way the message was delivered was so rude, I kinda felt bad for the guy. Prices are sometimes a little higher .. but you get what you pay for, which includes knowledge and expertise. Love this store, Always a pleasure to visit. Hank's Hardware is the best. It's really hard to find a hardware store with the variety that Hank's has. They have rows of fasteners and the best part is they still sell it by the pound if that is the way you want it to purchase it. Great selections of all hardware, fair prices, super friendly helpful employees that really want to help you, not run and hide like the big box stores. I was told about this place from some folks at the big box home improvement store stating they might carry the window spring I was looking for. Sure enough they did have the part in stock as well as more of the unique items that those big box realtors may not carry. Staff was helpful and was able to locate the part I needed quickly. I went to Lowe's for (6) 4X4X6.5 in. Blocks of wood and the guy behind the counter said they don't do those cuts. He was a real jerk about it as well! Like I was bothering him! So I searched for other lumber places and came across Hank's. I called first and the lady on the phone answered all my questions and invited me to come by. Once there it took me 10 min to get the wood I needed for $7.42. Everyone there was very pleasant to speak with and I walked out happy and with exactly the wood I needed at the perfect measurement and price! Go to the smaller business. Lowe's has gotten to big for their britches. Trust me, you will have a better experience at Hank's! read more
