Amazing dentistry been going since I was a kid! Dr thlick is friendly and professional and the hygienists are gentle.

The administrative staff tries to influence the patient to get additional x-rays or some other procedure that is usually not covered by insurance. The service is to assist the dentist in diagnosing your issue. If the patient agrees to this service, the patient can look forward to an expensive bill that insurance will not pay and continued request for payment. Not to mention, the service did not provide any additional information to the doctor. Essentially, the patient is paying for nothing. I give them no stars. read more

I went to this dentist years ago. I regret leaving because if there is one thing I missed (three dentist later) is HONESTY!! They are very professional at Parkway Smiles. I know everything they tell me is not part of a "business model for money!" They actually care that I get the proper care for my teeth. Their professional manner is great and they really are knowledgeable about my teeth and the best regimen for optimal health. ALL of the staff are friendly, personable and very mannerly. I finally convinced my daughter to come there -- I know she will love it. If you are tired of being treated like you are an assembly line and want the best possible care for your teeth! Having been to many dentists over the past decades, today was the first time I did not feel any uncomfort during my xrays. I have very large tori (large bone protrusions under my tongue) and the historically, the worst part of my dental visit is when the bite wings dig into my tori during the xrays. The dental assistant knew my issue and the xrays were taken with none of the discomfort I previously experienced. Now I'm wondering why other offices did know this trick in the past! I have no complaints or issues with the dentist or hygienists at this location. My only concern is with their billing department. If you don't review your invoices carefully, you will end of paying more than what is required. Compare your codes with the codes on your insurance plans to ensure that you are not being overcharged. read more

I got great care at Parkway Smiles. Dr. Thlick is soooooo nice--she even came in on her day off for something I was nervous about. The exam chairs are very comfortable and the equipment is state of the art. Everyone from the front desk to the dental assistants are very friendly. Parking is plentiful--bonus! read more

This review is really hard for me to write because I've been a patient of Dr. Thlick's since I was a child and my children have been seeing her for a long time as well. I have no other choice but to leave the practice over the last 4 months the practice has changed in many ways and in ways I don't want my children around. Dr. Thlick, you really need to look at your staff a little closer not the girls up front but your dental assistant she is very unprofessional by the way she talks to other staff members, the language she uses in the office has dumb founded me and has left me in shock to the point my 7 year old asked me what the word meant. I'm really shocked that you allow this kind of behavior in your practice. I've referred many of my friends, coworkers and family to your practice and I've asked them if they have noticed a changed as well and they have all said yes, even my husband has noticed a change. I definitely recommend Dr. Thlick especially for people who find seeing a dentist their least favorite thing to do. I started with Dr. Thlick after some mild tooth pain leading to a filling replacement that went well. Dawn is an awesome dental hygienist. The cleanings have been thorough yet gentle. I have a problem with grinding my teeth which led to more old fillings failing and even chipped a tooth. Dr. Thlick did a great job at replacing the failed fillings and fixing the chipping with little to no discomfort. Dr. Thlick recommended taking an Equilibration approach which entails smoothing out the high points on the rest of my teeth to reduce the friction while grinding. I was also fitted with a night guard and the approach as well as the nightguard have eliminated constant dull pain, filling failure and chipping. I have overall better feeling while eating and sleeping, what a difference. During one of my visits I mentioned a dull ache in my front tooth from old trauma. After a correct diagnosis of needing a root canal, she set up the procedure with her colleague. An otherwise scary sounding procedure turned out to be a pain free which is important for an apprehensive guy like me. My overall experience with Dr. Thlick and her team has been very positive. If you have teeth issues, you know how much a nagging dull constant discomfort can be. I like that she took a broader approach at fixing the overall cause of my problem rather than just keep fixing things as they broke. I can now say that with regular brushing and flossing I am in a much better place with Dr. Thlick. read more

What can I say about Dr Thlicke that hasn't been said? She is awesome!!!! She had a great rapporteur with her patients. She is gentle when you're in pain and empathetic when she gives you news you don't want to hear. She really cares about her patients. She isn't judgmental but will give it to you as is. My family has been coming to Dr. Thlick since we moved to the area a few years ago, and I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff! Dr. Thlick, Dawn (hygienist), and Helen (receptionist) have always been wonderful and my favorites! They always show me my x rays, explain them to me, and let me know what to do to keep my teeth and gum healthy. Dr. Lin is a great oral surgeon, unfortunately he belongs to a dental office that will not correctly bill your insurance for services and end up paying for out of pocket way more than you are supposed to. Then push you to use the dental financing company. I paid for all my services up front then was told a year later that I had additional charges. Going somewhere else. read more

Before my appointment with Dr. Thlick I was told I was going to lose my tooth and my only option was to get an implant or bridge. After deciding for a second opinion, Dr. Thlick saw the immediate problem and resolved it within seconds and was able to save my tooth with just a regular root canal/crown. First time here was super, second time, the hygienist was pensive and took about 23 X-rays, she had the chair as far back as it could go, all the blood going to my head, no common sense. In the exam the dentist found multiple things she needed to attend to, and I arrived with no issues or pain. It was just unpleasant and I won't be going back. It's a bummer because the first time, she was great. read more

This review is strictly for the front desk as the dentists there are great and deserve 5 stars. My main concern is with how the front desk staff operate. I just received a call reminding me of an appointment which is tomorrow and one that I unfortunately can't make. This appointment was made SIX MONTHS AGO after a cleaning, so I'm sorry if it slipped my mind. I proceeded tell Helen that I have been busy all week (coming off of 4th of July holiday) and I have been out of town. I was then asked (in a rude tone) "well are you going to just cancel or reschedule?" I answered I'm just going to cancel for right now (mind you I am on my way back from vacation and don't have my planner to give her a date and that is why I was saying just to cancel) I fully intended to call back tomorrow once I had a date. I guess Helen and that money hungry office didn't like my answer to which she replied "well there's a 48 hour cancellation policy and you might have to pay a fee." Excuse me? A fee for an appointment we set 6 months ago, one where I'm only getting a call the day before. I have been going to this dental office for 2 years now and the ONLY reason I have stayed this long is because the dentist is amazing but this has not been my first issue with the front desk. I have been given way off estimates and overcharged in the past with them. I have chalked it up to them being super busy or maybe overworked but this is ridiculous. I have never missed an appointment with them and in fact have even been called by the office to ask if I could be rescheduled! To treat a loyal customer like this who has never been late or missed an appointment is unacceptable. I have even referred a co-worker to this practice and she's had the same issues of being overcharged. I definitely will not be recommending anyone to them again. At this point who knows if I will be back and it's a shame because the dentists are really great but the front help is horrible. read more

I had my teeth cleaned and fillings replaced about two years ago. Had to return the very next morning because one of the new fillings fell out when I brushed my teeth. My teeth have been sensitive to hot and cold ever since. The hygienist was super friendly and efficient - she is definitely an asset to Parkway Smiles, but the rest of the staff is subpar, and overly aggressive with sales of dental products and equipment for home use. Highly recommend this dental office. I called to see if they had availability for tooth pain and they excepted on the spot. The staff is so pleasant to talk to and I felt as if I had been going there for awhile. Dentist explains throughly about everything that is going on and is very patient. I've been looking for a Dentist for quite a awhile that I could feel comfortable with. About a year ago I found Parkway Smiles in Woodbridge. Everyone in the office is so helpful and friendly. Very clean office with high tech equipment. However, the trip to Woodbridge to my house in 45 minutes. I looked for a dentist closer to my house but none of the dentist really compared to Dr Thlick. Dr Thlick not only does incredible work but really takes the time out to explain to you the issues and what steps should be taken to fix and prevent. She is truly concerned for your oral health. I stopped looking for a new dentist because the 45 minute trip to Parkway Smiles is well worth the drive. I can't speak to the dentist/s at this office. I guess I will never get to know if the dentists are good as people are saying they are here on Yelp. I had the worst experience with the front desk that I will not be using their services. After talking to Helen who scheduled my appointment being fully aware that my insurance was not valid. She scheduled my appointment for April 6 at 3pm. She called me April 5 at 4:30 to confirm my appt. I told her that my insurance will not be effective in time for tomorrow's appointment. She called me back to inform me that I will be charged a missed appointment fee since I didn't give 24 hours notice (Yes, go figure). I said WTF! You made the appointment knowing my insurance was an issue. You called me 23 hours prior to my appointment to see if I was able get my insurance straighten out. Now how crazy is that! First of all I haven't been to your practice so I'm not aware of this or any other policies you have. Second, if there is a fee that may be charged, because I'm a new patient, should've you have informed me of this policy when you made the appt? I was so frustrated with the whole conversation. In disbelief! The practice is desperate for money so I'm not sure if this is a thriving business that I want no part of. Good luck there! read more

Doctor Thlick and her staff of assistants, hygienist, and administration are a great team and a pleasure to have as our family dentistry. I love being greeted with a smile and always getting thoughtful attention. My experiences have been nothing but the best one could ask for in a dental office. They even helped me with my elderly parents, 83 & 84 years old. Dr Thlick is kind and competent and always takes the time to answer all my questions. I've never done a review but I felt I had to for others. Here goes--the ladies in the office are nice but beware Dr. Thlick likes to do unnecessary work. She wanted to pull one of my teeth attached to a bridge because she wanted to put in two implants costing me over $10K! She said implants would be "easier for me to clean." When I asked her if there were any other options she says "well I can leave a hole there if you want, that's an option." Very rude! I went for a second opinion, my new dentist said he thought it was a "very aggressive treatment" and he would not recommend that at all. He said the tooth she wanted to pull is a healthy tooth and the bridge I have would have to be replaced at some point but no need for implants. He said please do not go back to that dentist, even if I don't use him. Then I innocently went online to look at my dental benefits and saw that a charge they said would be taken off was actually billed to my insurance company. They said it was an accident but who knows. Bottom line, if you're dealing with this dentist please get a second opinion! read more

I went out of my way to download yelp to leave this review. I'm 16 and terrified of needles in my mouth and I had cavities I needed fixed. First they wouldn't let anybody come with me to have it done, so I was alone for 2 hours while my mother waited out front. Secondly, I had this work done months ago and they jacked up the work so bad I still cannot eat on the right side of my mouth and am going to have to have that tooth the messed up removed. That being said, they did have a very handsome fish in the waiting room and that was the highlight. read more
