I stopped in the Madbury location May 23 to pick up a few things and wandered to the lobster tank. One of the men in the lobster tank area, Michael, asked if he could assist. I told him that I photograph lobsters and said that I don't eat them. Michael was completely attentive, enthusiastic and engaging. Aside from the most hospitable welcome, the deli attendant was quite helpful. That particular Hannaford's has a much warmer, cleaner and calm ambiance than does the Hannaford's where I live in Sanford. My visit to your Madbury Hannaford's makes me want to live in that community. It was the kind of positive experience that makes me feel welcome in a community. I recently saw Michael out and about in Dover, NH and he remembered me. I plan to relocate to the Madbury area. Wonderful! read more

I am sick of people not listening for us disabled who can't shop on our own. I picked out a specific steak and potatoes meal. And you give me a spicy one that I DID NOT ASK FOR...... I DIDN'T PICK THAT BUTTON. I SAW IT. YOUR CAJUN SAUCE SUCKS. STEAKHOUSE IS WHAT I PICKED. IF ITS NOTthese specific one stop picking stuff for people I don't care if there's a substitute button. Piss poor customer service Dover NH store I went to self checkout the machine asked me to enter my rewards # after spending 125.00 I noticed on my receipt no rewards I stopped at customer service counter asked why it didn't show up on my receipt come to find out you can't after the fact you need to.put # on screen. I asked if I could return items and rescan them I was informed the would not show up for 3to5 days obviously did not offer any help left store extremely frustrated and upset I will not return to Hannaford again read more

I have to agree the prices are way too high!! I figured it out why the prices are slightly under Shaw's on purpose . That way you'll go here because they are cheaper than Shaw's! Not by very much! However after some very nasty experiences with Market Basket I've decided the low prices are nice but it's not worth it to me. I'll pay more at Hannaford it's more pleaseant it doesn't Smell like dirty socks and you don't get manhandled like you're a common criminal or who do you think you are coming in here! Hannaford is a convenient MARKET to shop at. I live nearby so if I run out of milk or bread it's a short hop for me. The market is clean, and the staff helpful. Perhaps not the product line carried by the larger markets (but that is to be expected). With all that being said,my main objection to shopping there are the prices, by no means competitive! When comparing marketing trips to Hannaford and the other to the well known Market Basket, there is no contest. A minimum of 15 to 25% savings on every order. You don't have to be a math wiz to understand that can be a substantial savings. I usually can spend $100-150, giving me a savings of 15 to almost 40 dollars, that's remarkable. On one trip I wanted to buy a cheese I enjoy, it was marked 3.99 for 8 ounces at Hannaford, I purchase 16 ounces, at Market Basket for the same price. I understand profit margins, I also understand robbery. read more

This store is very well kept, clean, and well attended. The staff is friendly, and ready to assist. The products are well stocked -- I have never seen an empty spot on the shelf. The check-out lines are consistently fast, with minimal wait time. My only criticism is that the self-checkout machine balks if you try to use your own re-usable shopping bags; it only works with the plastic disposable bags. read more

Great Sushi bar, several varieties of hot wings, salad bar, olive bar, good wine and cheese selection, and tuscan breads. Everything's so fresh! Good hummus, tabuIi and home made pasta. Why go to a restaurant for takeout when you can find the freshest and most delicious food here. And I always run into a friend or two ... (hi Robin and Hans!). They highly recommend the dragon rolls. Prices are a little steep for everyday shopping but that's what Shaw's is for! read more

This store doesn't have a 'now serving customer number' device in the Deli. Employees say they don't need one. Others say it's broken. This is quite annoying when there is a crowd. It's like a bar. Selection is limited, and although the checkers generally ask if you have found what you are looking for, nothing seems to ever change. Otherwise just an average full line store. The other store in Dover, is far better, just not as convenient for me. read more

Great place to quickly get what you need, friendly and helpful employees as well as competitive prices

I know when I tell people I shop at Hannaford all the people who shop at that other place say oh they're expensive...really? I've found several things to be the same price and some even less however there is no comparison to cleanliness in my opinion. This store (and the employees) are always immaculate, there's not 50 shopping carts rolling around in the parking lot and they even have curbside pickup you can fill your cart online and pick up at the store and for all you tech lovers you can pay with your smartphone. Also Hannaford will refund you double plus a dollar for coming back into the store if they double scan any purchase, so if your package of hamburger is $6 and they scan it twice they'll give you $13 cash and you keep the hamburger and their store brands are satisfaction guaranteed or double your money back. They also have a couple of self-checkouts so if you're just getting a couple things you don't need to stand in a ten person line in an express lane. If all that matters is price then go to the other place, if you expect more go here. read more

I went there yesterday to fill a script, I asked the girl behind the pharmacy desk for the brand and told her to call me if there was a problem. Did I get a call no...I assumed there were no issues. I get there to pick it up and what do they have for me generic. When I reminded the girl that I wanted brand she seem very annoyed, like she couldn't be bother. Her attitude sucked. I felt like I was burdening them by asking. The man behind the counter came over to me to tell me that the generic was fine (even though he kept on saying "I'm not telling you, to not get the brand) he was because they couldn't be bothered with making a phone call to tell me they didn't have it and now they didn't want to be bothered having to call and order the real deal verses giving me the generic. HANNAFORD YOU LOST A CUSTOMER over something so simple. Train your people not to be lazy and listen to what the customer is asking for. read more
