Ok, I'm not meant to LIKE a big chain of supermarkets, right? But I kinda do. I love my local Hannaford. It's a medium-sized one and carries pretty much everything I want. They recently upgraded the store to include a nifty organic/health food section, so I hardly have to wander to the Wild Oats co-op near work any more. The produce is mostly fresh and decent The staff are friendly. The pharmacist(s) are SO nice. The bakery is pretty darn good. And it's open 24 hours. read more

I've been here quite a few times, mostly at night time eight or 9 o'clock. They have a lot of things I can get and then get out.

This place is amazing. The workers are so friendly and helpful. It is a pleasure to go there

I usually go to my local Hannaford in East Greenbush, but since I was coming from Troy, it would make sense to just stop at the Hannaford in Wynantskill. Big mistake. I bought these "fresh" cheese curds that I always buy, which three days after buying had mold on them upon opening up the container. Although the Hannaford corporation is great, it was not worth it to me to drive back to the Wynantskill Hannaford to get a replacement. It makes me wonder how fresh items actually are here when the sell by date is in August. I can say that I will never shop at this location again. read more

The stock people there are horrible! You're always in there way! They get mad if you want to look at something in there way. I was shaking when I left today the vibe was so bad! And this is always how it is! I hate shopping there if it wasn't so close I would never go there !! The girl who is at the 14 items or less with the blonde hair actually slams things at me. The Hannaford in Wynantskill is a really good supermarket. The workers are very helpful and friendly. It's a small sized Hannaford, so the choices are less than other Hannaford stores in the area, but i love the small-ish size. They carry a decent variety of vegetarian food choices and their produce is good. I think their prices are lower than the other chains in the area. I definitely recommend this store! read more

Dear Hannaford Wynantskill and Hannaford Customers, I recently purchased a case of beer and bag of chips at a self checkout kiosk. Unbeknownst to myself I was charged for two cases of beer and an additional item that was not part of my purchase and I did not scan. WITHOUT LEAVING THE STORE I immediately went to customer services to request a refund for the case of beer and item I did not purchase. After a long wait and some confusion I was refunded the difference of the items in the format of a store gift card. That is unacceptable. The assistant store manager explained that its was a computer error and "the best" that they could do was refund me in the format of a gift card. I believe that this is putting consumers at risk. Lets examine the situation. A customer is incorrectly charged because of a "computer error", the manager's own words, and the customer is refunded in the format of a gift card, effectively cajoling the customer into returning to the very same store that just incorrectly charged them due to "computer error". I explained to the manager that I believed that refunding customers in the format of a gift card poses a risk to the customer. They did not (the night shift manager, and assistant store manager) seem to understand or agree. Fortunately I am financially comfortable but it is easy to imagine the hypothetical that not being monetarily refunded could have a harsh and negative impact on a costumer of lesser financial means. After exiting the store extremely frustrated I returned into the store after recalling a past experience at that same store. In this past experience I accidentally put a company purchase on my personal card. Without question, I was able to cancel or refund (i forget which) the transaction and put the purchase on the appropriate card. When I explained this to the same pair of managers they suggested that it was a lesser dollar amount. I explained that it was not (to the best of my memory $75 - $100). The assistant store manager then went on to suggest that the "circumstances of your (my) purchase are very unusual" and that these "errors" do not happen often. This is offensive and suggestive of actions that are unbecoming of my character. Now, lets take the HYPOTHETICAL that I did make a mistake and scanned the beer twice (may have happened) and scanned this other item (absolutely did not happen). If it was my mistake as a customer, it would appear that the store is using this hypothetical mistake at a self checkout kiosk against the customer to improperly charge them. There are cameras at each self checkout kiosk. I suggest that the managers review footage to properly understand what happened. Perhaps the store can use this instance to improve customer experience? Personally, it was demeaning and extremely aggravating to be stonewalled by two managers. I now have a gift card to a store which I have no intentions of ever setting foot into again. I will not settle with this "gift card" and will pursue whatever venues I can to see that I am monetarily refunded for two items that I NEVER purchased. I warn any prospective customers that any "computer error" will result in the customer at "best" being refunded in a store gift card. It may also be accompanied by two managers making suggestive remarks of your actions and telling you that there is nothing they can do to help you. read more

I shop at this Hannaford often for my basic grocery needs. It's open 24-7! Whether it's the fresh produce, meats, baked goods, dairy goods, dry goods, frozen food, drinks, medicines, instore banking, or a hot rotisserie chicken, this Hannaford has it. The store is usually clean with friendly service. I have to mention the prices here are a bit on the high end and there's no double coupons offered here or at any other supermarket in the area. read more

My go to grocery store. I actually don't mind shopping here and most things are easy to find. With the new store set up from a few years ago maybe is the aisles are so darn thin. You can barley fit 2 carts side by side which makes it interesting but hey it gave them more product room so I don't mind as long as the other shoppers are paying attention. Only 3 stars because I can't overlook how horrible some of the employees are. Some, maybe even most are fantastic, here's looking at you Joe, but the bad ones are horrible. I will literally wait in a longer line rather than go to some of these snob cashiers and "managers." The pharmacy is a 5 star hands down. read more

This could be great store, it is mostly well laid out and the workers are friendly but they carry way too much of certain products and none of others. They never have RC COLA although they have every brand of diet cola and enough seltzer water to sink the titanic !, I can only get Barq's root beer in cans or rwo liters - no 16 Oz bottles. The worst part is I have complained many many times about this to no avail. I will have to shop at PRICE CHOPPER more often. read more

This Hannaford has its pluses and it has its minuses. On the plus, if you are gluten-free for whatever reason, there is a pretty elaborate section. Also, their meat section is pretty substantial, as well as their international cheese selection. They have a wide array of frozen Hannaford brand products that are decent, and some people really enjoy the fact that you don't need a special card to get the discount - to me it doesn't matter...I'll do what I gots to do to get a discount. And major plus - they got rid of that awful one line for everyone system - it was so irritating!!!!! On the minus side - their seafood selection is pretty inadequate, especially in comparison to the Price Chopper that is less than 10ish minutes away. Their produce section can be hit or miss. I have gone in several times hoping to find a couple items that they have cards with prices up for indicating to me that it is produce they normally stock, and they never seem to have it in stock. Getting help beyond the check out lane can be a bit difficult as well. Rarely do I see an employee in the aisle, and if you do, they rarely offer help, but at least if you go up to them for help, they usually know how to get you what you need. The self-checkout lane is one of the biggest headaches here though. Everything will be fine and dandy until you need to press for help....you will be standing there waiting......and waiting......and waiting, while you inevitably get angry looks from the other customers who mumble things like "why didn't they just go to the regular check-out lane" and sigh loudly behind you....oh supermarket problems. read more

I love this particular Hannaford! I miss it and am actually moving back and pretty much already calling myself it's "soon to-be neighbor" because of how even it's counterparts within the Hannaford line have "unimpressed me" and quite seriously "let me down" on a professional level. Yeah. Not only has/had the Wynantskill Hannaford really pushed to incorporate products, that at these/those times one might find not normally carried on basic supermarket shelves, they even went further (if the customers, themselves, were polite...too!) and got items within those "hard to find in-a-regular-supermarket" category that were usually only found in specialty stores! Hands in the air for the Wynantskill staff that makes me feel like a valued customer!! I have to also head often to the Hannaford Pharmacy and the WYNANTSKILL branch has the BEST Pharmacy staff I have found as a whole entire team, since I left the fuzzy environs of having access (as a spouse)to the whole deal active duty care, including Tricare. THAT was 13 years of civilian care and insurance, so lots of pharmacies and pharmacists. These guys are professional of course, but they have empathy. I guess that's the entire Wynantskill Hannaford. Here's a last hint: of course you, the customer may find things not up to par on occasion, or perhaps have a real issue that you need to speak to someone about...things happen and I know when there was maybe something I didn't like in a department - I went to a manager on at that time and I spoke about the situation or person in a way that didn't denigrate anyone. You get what you give. People should remember these things, especially when writing reviews...especially if they are only using a place once, or a few times a year. read more
