Additionally, Hoffay's offers fresh vegetables which are excellent. I love to get some fresh corn on the cob or tomatoes. They're almost always fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. The cost of an entire HALF of fish and scallops was $50. You usually get 2 pieces of salmon sashimi for $5 at most Japanese restaurants, and it isn't guaranteed to be good. You need to get here before noon or call before noon and pick it up later since the workers get there really early and that's their quittin' time. Anyway, highly highly recommend. It was so good.

Now learning that there's a weekly sprout truck down the street at the local church every week means it's even easier for my wife to get fresh stuff for the week while watching our little one at home. I missed our first pick up because I ran home to help my wife with our newborn and didn't realize until later that night I forgot to grab them. I got a call the next day saying they had my order in the fridge waiting for me. If people haven't heard about Capital Roots and the Grow Center, they are missing out.

The farm has PYO raspberries, sunflowers, zinnias and pumpkins. There was also produce at a good price, cider donuts and local honey from the farm. Later in the season they have hayrides to a pumpkin patch and haunted hayrides. They also had a bunch of farm animals fenced in to see including pigs, ponies, a goat, a duck and a rooster. We were also greeted by the farm dogs when we arrived. All the staff was friendly and helpful. There was no entrance fee and all the items were priced very reasonably. I hope to go back later in the season to get our carving pumpkins.

George's has an impressive variety of plants, and their prices are competitive for the most part. It's also worth mentioning the greenhouses across the parking lot, where they keep loads of annual plants/flowers for sale starting in the spring. There's limited parking but somehow we've never not found a spot here. As far as i know they have a hard no 'refund/return' policy, which is important to keep in mind. Long live George's.

But daikon was too expensive, a tub of peeled garlic was not in sight and I did not have the patience to search for wheat starch or Pantai brand fish sauce. All that said, it's still a four star experience. First for the experience of seeing many Muslim families shopping together on a Friday, and particularly the happy customers waiting at the busy halal butcher when their orders are delivered. Second for the depth of product which challenges the casual shopper but lets me know this would be a good source for a very specific product, like an obscure fruit or vegetable or one of the dozens of middle eastern flatbreads on offer. The labneh section alone deserves an award for brand diversity. Like it or not, I know I'll be back and am glad we have Farmer's Indian Market in our community.

This 49K SF supermarket seems smaller than what I'm used to shopping at, but not the smallest Hannaford I've been to. The Clynk Bottle + Can Redemption shed/machines is outside at the far end of the parking lot. This Hannaford has 17 aisles including the standard grocery store items, frozen foods, dairy sections, organic foods, fresh produce, meats, small bakery (no self serve muffins, donuts?), fresh seafood, deli counter, cheeses, hot foods bar ($9.99/lb), sushi, made to order stir fry station, sandwiches, hot pizza, fresh salads, chicken, and grab & go sandwiches and heat and serve foods. The prices here seem fair or better compared to Market 32 and Shop Rite, though I've seen consistently lower prices at my local Market Basket (MA, NH, ME). I stopped in here and headed to the back right corner of the store for a slice of pizza and made to order stir fry (some newer Hannaford stores in ME and NH offer this too). I picked out a slice of Buffalo Chicken Pizza ($2.49 plus tax) and Shrimp Stir Fry ($9.99 plus tax) which I use the self serve stir fry bar to pick out my ingredients including noodles, rice, veggies, tofu and give the ingredients to the grill cook and they add any meats and sauces to be freshly cooked in front of you. My stir fry took about 5 minutes to be hot and ready and boxed. I paid for my food up at the front register and I enjoyed my food outside on my vehicle. I did not spot an indoor seating area here, which I've seen at other bigger supermarkets. The shrimp stir fry was delicious and tasted fresh . The pizza was decent which had the right amount of toppings including breaded chicken pieces, Bleu cheese crumbles and buffalo sauce on a thin chewy crust. As always, Hannaford is still one of my go to stores for quick grocery shopping, ready to eat foods and fresh produce. Also, the new traffic signal with GridSmart camera detection at Hoosick Rd & Lord Ave intersection is operational and helps with vehicles entering and exiting Hannaford to/from busy Hoosick Rd. It can be very difficult to turn left or right onto Hoosick Rd without a traffic signal.
