My Review is specifically for the Meat Department. I was at the Market32 in East Greenbush, and they were out of Beef Tenderloin, but recommended I head over to the store near HVCC. I need two fillets for dinner that evening (Christmas Eve), and so I dashed over to the this store, across from HVCC. On a positive note, I was glad to see the store had been remodeled. I was a student at HVCC and used to frequent this Price Chopper daily. It used to be run down and nasty. It's looking much better now. I was also very happy to see they has tenderloin in the meat case. A young man helped me out. I picked two steaks and they came to $30 total. Cashed out at the Registers and went home happy. Mission accomplished. I have cooked tenderloin steaks a billion times. Seared on each side for 2 mins, braised in butter, and then in the oven for 5-6 minutes. They came out medium (pink in the middle). PERFECT. Unfortunately, they were not as good as the looked. They were absolutely DISGUSTING. The texture of the beef was MUSHY and weird. It felt gross in your mouth. At first, I thought . . wow I must have gotten a large piece of fat in my mouth, Nope. That is the actual steak that had that texture. The entire steak was like that. Just pure mush in your mouth. My son, who does not know a lot about steak . . .left his on his plate too. And when I asked if he was finished, he said "Yeah. It felt weird". I can't even express how utterly disgusting the steak felt in my mouth. Saying it was gross, does not do it justice. Again, I have cooked these steaks a million times over the years. And I have never experienced this before. Not ever. I had to google what would cause a steak to be this way: 1) Tenderizer: Not sure if they are adding this to the steaks, but if they are PLEASE STOP. Nobody wants your chemicals on the steak, breaking them down into mush. We expect fresh steaks. 2) Old Steaks or Steaks that are not stored properly: Is this the answer? 3) Overcooked: Not only do I have a lot of experience in cooking these steaks, but they came out pink in the middle. Obviously - not over cooked. And so we are looking at either 1 or 2. Thank you Market 32 for ruining Christmas Eve Dinner with my son. And for STEALING my $30. read more

I find this store to be very helpful. I went in there about a week ago and picked up some groceries in 2- 4 gallon water jugs. The young girl that was working the self service area was very friendly and not only help me scan my 2- 4 gallon jugs, She helped scan all the rest of my purchases also, which was very helpful thoughtful and kind. This Price Chopper now named Market 32 is a fine supermarket. The selection is pretty big, and the bakery is solid. Also, the hot foods like the fried chicken is fine for supermarket food. The prices are about the same as everyone else, but this location does offer a lot of sales. One perk of this supermarket is the stuffed baked potatoes in the deli section. The potatoes are cheesy, flavorful, and filling. The main issue with this supermarket is definitely the service. The employees here are often rude and act like they don't want to be here. In the final analysis, this a solid supermarket with a big selection of food, but the employees are often rude. read more

Market 32 This Price Chopper was open on Thanksgiving, which was a big plus since I was helping out the family prepare Thanksgiving dinner and we needed some last minute groceries and food items. I rushed out and picked up what we needed. The lines here were not too long and I was out quickly. I also decided to run back inside and grabbed a family sized stuffing (labeled at $5.00) since this was not on the original menu at home and it was sitting hot and ready. I go to check out in the Express Line with the hot stuffing side and it scans in at $5.40 with tax as expected. However, I was asked if I had an Advantage Card, which I did not since it was left back in NH (I have too many discount cards). The friendly cashier told me to hold my money and scans an Advantage Card at the register and the new price for the stuffing is $2.16 with tax, more than half price. He informed me that if I don't have my Advantage Card on me, not to worry. Thank you! I can recall 20 years ago at this Price Chopper (old location same plaza) that I was SOL on the discounts if I didn't have my Advantage Card. read more

their meat selection, despite supposedly upgrading to premium quality, is horrible. They now have the highest priced yet lowest quality beef I've ever experienced in a grocery store. I recently purchased on sale bone-in and skin-on chicken thighs. after cutting away all the excess skin and fat , an entire cereal bowl"s worth from just 4 thighs, I realized that PC is a complete ripoff with poor quality meats. I've included a photo of the bowl of crap I had to trim off as well as the thighs, still fully covered with skin even after excessive trimming. if you can't afford meat from a butcher or farmers market I highly suggest Hannaford for higher quality meat at reasonable prices. read more

Market 32 is just a marketing concept. The food is just as bad as any ordinary supermarket. The Market 32 appears to be a wholesome footstore modeled after Whole Foods, but it is not. The food offerings are the worst of supermarket brands. Staff is not engaged, but why would they be? Price Chopper needs to really step up to keep up with the quality consumers are looking for. read more

FOOD POISONING FROM STORE PREPARED CHICKEN WINGS. It was the only thing we ate for dinner. Two days of severe abdominal pain and vomiting began about 3 hours after eating. Local health departments do not inspect the food preparation or storage areas in supermarkets even though they are selling more and more food prepared in the store. read more

Slow, slow, slow. Deli is painfully slow even if you use the kiosk to order while you shop. Never anyone bagging groceries during busy times while there is only one or two lanes open, other than express. Produce is hit and miss. They took away competitor coupons and hardly have any good sales. Their flyer has "sales" but most of the items are always that price. Customer service equipment barely works either. read more

Sadly, this is among the worst of the chain (second to the one on Delaware Avenue in Albany). The produce is terrible. I often wonder if Price Chopper sends the expired produce here. The bakery offerings are lean. The deli counter seems to have very limited offerings. This store in general seems to offer less items and selection compared to other stores. You can count on only one register being open (other than express). On a positive, the staff is very friendly. The cashiers are actually personable and the pizza people are nice. Check the dates on things you buy here, on more than occasion I've bought milk and produce only to find when I get home that the items have expired. I try to avoid this location at all costs! I wonder if the Golub family has ever actually shopped at this store. read more

If you say that you close at 3:00 on Easter, than you shouldn't be closing 15 minutes early. Just wasted time to get to a store that's open the hours they say they're going to be because you guys decided to close early. I understand that it's holiday hours, but the time that you're supposed to be open until is the time when you should close. You just missed out on my business now and for the future. read more

If I could give less than one star I would! I have photos to prove the following. There was one container of furry white blueberries left in the entire store, no Spring Mix lettuce, except for the packages that expired 4 days ago, and no iceberg lettuce. The only produce worker was on break and myself and five other customers inquired about the lack of produce stocked, but there was no one available to help us. Then, after checking out I had to return to Customer Service with my smashed eggs because they were on the bottom of my cart. Also, my tomatoes were bagged with my cantaloupe and the best yet was my dish soap with my Silk milk. What a stellar experience to say the least. I recently moved to the area leaving behind the best grocery store (Wegmans)! Price Chopper is not even in the same league. read more

It's Price Chopper, and its around the corner from my home. The staff in the morning are friendly and I know their names. I can ask for cake boxes or butchers twine when I am in a pinch, and they'll work with my special requests. But I'm fed up with the sour food on the salad bar, and the miss labeled produce. The raspberries are often moldy, and I will not go near the 'fresh fish' section. I go to Adventure in Food, and Brickmans in Menands for those things. But I do love a friendly local staff. read more

This used to be my market of choice, but there's been some decline in quality lately. It's a bit more sloppy, prices higher and staff a little less than adequate. Staff that's been there for years is exceptional as always, but many of the new staff make it evident they could care less, and never offer their help. Can't select a rating that is NEGATIVE NEGATIVE....ordered flowers for a bridal shower for pick up on Saturday. Arrive on Saturday to only find out the entire order was SCREWED up. I ordered very specific flowers and only wanted white. I was told the order was received on Thursday it was not complete. They never thought to call and let me know...The person in the floral shop informed me they had 2 wedding and it was prom season! Sorry no $hit Sherlock---and a Bridal shower that you screwed me on! Staff need an intensive training - lack of professionalism and courtesy. Unpleasant experience at this store keeps me shopping at differenent venues. It is sad to see how the customer service are dropping down compare to the past. read more
