Normally, I just have him shaved down after the weather warms, but we have a special event coming up and I wanted to see if we could keep him a little fluffy. Our normal groomer, Muddy Paws, told me it was "inhumane" to try to demat him. So, I did some research and found out that there are some groomers who will put in the time and effort to demat dogs without causing them pain and discomfort. Sarah is one such groomer. Not only did she agree to work with my dog and try to save his fur, she did it without making me feel like an awful pet parent for wanting to save it in the first place. The results were AMAZING. My little guy came home clean and fluffy, with the perfect teddy bear cut. Not only that, but he was HAPPY. Like, super prancy dancy happy. I hadn't seen him so relaxed after a cut in years! On top of everything else, Sarah called a week later and offered to give Scout an extra bath to get him ready for our special event ... FREE OF CHARGE. When does that EVER happen in this day and age? I can't speak for other pet owners' experiences, but I know that from now on, Sarah will be my ONLY groomer. She truly cares about animals, and not just from a grooming perspective. She took the time to talk to me about my dog's physical health, too, and advocates a holistic approach to pet care. I love that about her! I'm a really picky customer, especially when it comes to my fur child. So when I say THIS groomer is highly recommended, I mean it: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER. My experience at Sarah's Studio was a very stressful one for both me and my dog to say the least. I…read moredecided to take my one-year-old rescue to be groomed there for the first time ever because she had some matting and I was looking for a professional that would be able to properly groom her. After speaking with staff via telephone, they bragged about their qualifications and said they were okay with me staying while my dog was being groomed which is why I ultimately decided to give it a try. Being able to be present during grooming was important because my dog is easily frightened by the blow dryer, electric clippers, and loud noises. This was clearly conveyed to the staff during the phone call so that they would be fully aware of my dogs needs at the time of grooming. They assured that this would not be a problem. The day of grooming, I showed up to Sarah's Studios to find that someone named Sally would be grooming my dog. As I helped my dog onto the grooming table I was comforting my dog by saying things like, "It's okay," and "Good girl!" Immediately, Sally corrected me and said to never praise my dog for being scared or "misbehaving" because it condones "bad behavior." This put a bad taste in my mouth, however, I figured that I would brush it off because she was a "professional" who has apparently been in this business for years and must've known what she was talking about? She began brushing out and cutting my dogs hair, and everything seemed fine until she busted out the clippers, despite already knowing my dog would be afraid. She quickly turned them on and my dog panicked. My dog was so scared by the noise that she had a small bowel movement on the grooming table. After that, they said they were going to bathe my dog. At this time, I had to run home to grab my check book (they never mentioned that they only take cash or checks). I figured because I only live about 10 minutes away, I would be back in time for the rest of the grooming after my dogs bath was over. My dog has never had a problem with getting baths at home, and so I felt okay about running home quickly while she was being bathed. As I returned to Sarah's Studio, my dog was still in the back where I couldn't see her. This is where they keep what looked like some kennels and the wash station. After about 10 minutes of waiting for my dog to come back out, I heard a staff member say, "this dog won't stop freaking out!" Come to find out, while I was gone, they bathed her and tried to use a massive blow dryer to dry her which scared her so much that she had a second bowel movement. After bathing her a second time, I found out that they tried to cage dry her which caused her to poop a third time. After a third bath, all of this happened again a FOURTH TIME. I didn't find any of this out until I came back from getting my check book. They brought my dog back out from the back and I went up and comforted her on the grooming table. I stood with her during the rest of the brush/groom so that my dog wouldn't be manhandled. As she was finishing up, Sally mentioned that my dog had "a little hemorrhoid" that should be fine but that I should keep an eye on it. Well, no wonder my dog had a hemorrhoid. She pooped herself 5 different times because she was so scared!! At one point, Sally mentioned to me that she doesn't go easier on rescue dogs even though they may have had a hard life, and they need to learn to behave correctly at the groomers. This was upsetting because there are many dogs out there with special needs that need to be taken into consideration when doing anything new and scary, like grooming. So, unless your dog is a fancy show dog that is used to being groomed, this is not a good place for them. After leaving the studio, I was so upset and stressed about my poor dog and the new hemorrhoid. Out of concern, I took her to the vet. According to my vet, the hemorrhoid was caused from severe straining from stress and irritation, which could have all been avoided. Overall, Sarah's Studio is not a good place to take your dog, especially if your dog has never been groomed before, has anxiety, or is a rescue. They do not cater to dogs with special needs, and your concerns will not be taken very seriously here. During my time at Sarah's Studio, I was condescended and made to feel less knowledgeable than staff. I will never be taking my dog back there.

TL;DR: employees answering phones are giving out false/unverified prices, they didn't do the work…read morethey were asked to do, and they did work they weren't asked to do. I see a lot of positive reviews so I'm willing to accept we had a one-off experience, but we're done, and if you take your pet there you better make sure you get a price in writing. We were given a price on the phone but when my wife picked up our dog we were charged double the price we were told, and they didn't do the cut we asked for. They did a shave instead which I could have done myself for free. We took her to a groomer for a professional cut, not something anyone with a good electric shaver could do. They had 2 excuses for the increased price. The first was that they had to perform extra work which resulted in extra charges. That's a legitimate excuse if you call and ask if it's okay, but you didn't call and decided to do the work without our permission. When is the last time you were okay with a business deciding to do extra work on your dime without consulting you first? My guess is never. You never do extra work without asking the customer if they are willing to pay for the service. Second my wife was told the person that quoted her the price should have checked with the groomer. Okay, well that is your employee which makes it your responsibility. If your employees don't do their job correctly the responsibility for the error doesn't fall on your customers. If the person answering the phone needs to check with someone about the price then they need to do so. If they don't have the ability to do that then they need to say "I'm unable to provide you with a price at this time." It's also worth noting that this is the shortest time in between groomings she's ever had and they still took the same amount of time as her regular groomer, except in addition to not cutting her the way we asked they were also $40 more expensive than her next most expensive grooming.

After…read morebeing disappointed with four groomers and giving them second chances with little change, I kept searching, reading reviews, and checking social media without success. However, one day, I passed a yard sign for PUPS & PURRS, pulled over, and spoke to the owner, Wendy, who invited me to bring my pups without an appointment and answered my questions. I was instantly impressed; she wasn't trying to sell herself, and I thought, 'This may be the one.' My intuition was correct after making an appointment. I stayed in a designated prep room for pet parents, with divided sections; each had see-through windows where they were groomed. The second room was for puppies to play while waiting to be groomed, and another gated area for pets needing solitude before or after grooming. Wendy, the groomer, charged less than previous groomers at a teaching vet hospital and others working at well-known pet stores in DE. We have plans to adoption another dog possibly if we can find the right personality. Plus coming from a animal sheltering background of 20+ years, I cannot pass up an opportunity to visit any animal shelter. The lady working at the front desk - Kimberly D. was so kind and super friendly! She was so nice to my daughter who loves cats and wants to volunteer at a shelter when she is old enough. The lady showed us the cat room and talked to Giana about ways she can help animal shelters even though she isn't old enough to actually volunteer at a shelter. She told us how other kids would ask for animal supplies as birthday gifts instead of the usual gift for themselves. She showed us the dog areas where we got to see the dogs. Overall, our experience was the highlight of the day and I am truly grateful for Kimberly's kindness and enthusiasm for the work that she does. I'm sure she made an impact on my daughter as well!!!

Made a appointment with Faithful friends to do a small Mass removal on my small dog. I dropped her…read moreoff when I went back to pick her up at 4:00. The vet that worked on her came out and told me after he closed her up the first time she was still bleeding real bad. He had to go back in and put her to sleep and open her up the second time. So I had to sit and wait an extra hour for her to wake up off the anesthesia. When they brought her out to me they had her in some kind of suit. The lady was carrying her and she said it was a space suit. She said she would carry her to my truck and they had raped her and she told me to take the bandages off. When I got home that night I took the bandages off. I couldn't believe my eyes. I never seen anything so bad in my whole life. She was so swollen and bruised in between. Her two back legs was so swelled. They look like giant blood blisters. They gave me enough meds for 7 days and and said rest. I stayed with her in my bedroom around the clock and kept icing her down. When I called and said how swelled she was that's what they told me to do after a week and a half bleeding had never stopped. It wasn't real bad thick drops but steady and then it got a little worse and he told me to put a Band-Aid on her so I was using big band needs. Every time I took one off it was so filled with blood. I couldn't believe it. So I took. I called and said she was in pain and I need it more medicine. I'm still thinking well. Some swelling went down and don't look as bad. I was praying she'd be okay. They told me I would have to bring her in to get the medicine so I did why there? I told him bleeding never stop. Is she bled on their floor where I was sittinI told the lady at the receptionist she went and got a mop and mopped it up. They gave me more meds and told me the same thing. Rest and I left within 21 days from surgery to the day she bled out and died in my arms. I left another review. It would be the first review and I put pictures with it but it looked like things were changed around and it was set so I added it and I'm rewriting it now. I don't know if They'll let me post pictures to show you how bad it was. I called there said I would like to talk to the vet that did the mass removal on my dog. She passed away and they said they were so sorry and they would have him call me a week. Maybe a little over a week later. He called. I told him you went in twice. You had to do something wrong the first time for her to bleed like that for you to go back in the second time. He called me delusional and asked me can I prove it? I got pictures of before I brought her there and look great and I got pictures when they were done with her she looked so bad he had to know something was wrong for him to opened her up twice. He just prolonged her death. She suffered for 21 days before her passing. He told me the second time he went in. He tied everything off and she'd be okay. Just rest and medicine from surgery to the day she passed was exactly 21 days. I googled it about if a vet opens the dog up twice and it told me that yes that's not good. I experience that should know better and if she died within 21 days that's why she died because she was opened up twice. If you would have just told me the first time before he opened her up the second time because everybody makes a mistake that he hits something and couldn't stop the bleeding and had to know she was going to pass away. He just let her suffer. I would have just had her put down so she didn't suffer. I am very hurt that he has denied anything to do with her passing. I'm very mad. He opened her up twice. Never asked me. Could he go back in twice or did I want him to go back in? He just did it on his own. I lost my best friend my companion. She was all I had. She went everywhere with me and did everything together. She is very missed. I'm lost . and he still hasn't taken responsibility for what happened to her. I believe he's mean and selfish and knowing she was going to pass and he let her suffer for the 21 days. All I've done is cry. I can't believe I took her for a small Mass removal to make sure she was okay and I was so happy to go get her and then he came out and told me he had it open her twice and when I took her him and seen her it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. I had to watch my dog suffer for 21 days. Why he was in denial until her death? Dr Quin did the surgery I'm not from PA in from Newcastle Delaware.

They kept him for two days they decided he had diabetes and put him on insulin. They told me we would have to check his blood two times a day. Sold me an expensive glucose monitor which they never set up. They sent us home with a monitor with no codes installed and not even batteries. Ultimately I found out I paid 3 times as much as it could have been bought at CVS. I went back a few days later and was basically told to stab his ear twice a day. They were incompetent, uncaring and expensive. I would never go there again. ​
