This is a nice korean market with a few food vendors inside, one of which i ordered a black bean noodle and this was my first time trying this and would like to try it at other places since it was good it had grilled onions some pieces of tofu, forgot to take a pic but i give it a 4/5 theres also a paris baguette inside and a few korean skincare product vendors as well. Its sister market, Hannam Chain Market World, is less than a mile away on Sepulveda Blvd. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This market has an unusual layout, not the typical vertical aisles of most markets, & some sections are quite cramped (particularly the frozen area) & challenging to navigate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I typically park my shopping cart at the end when browsing. The Korean markets in the South Bay are not for groceries only, they include eateries &/or other businesses. At the south & southwest end of the market, Hannam houses Goobne Chicken, Katsu Nuna, Paris Baguette, Kyodong Noodle, K-Beauty (Shiseido & other Korean beauty products), Coway (air & water purifiers), Cheong Kwan Jang (Korean red ginseng products), 3H (acupressure beds). It doesn't feel like the same market, not because of the location change, but more so for what's stocked & price points if they are in fact S-Mart. Hannam Chain Supermarket offers fresh produce, a butcher with a great selection of meats, seafood counter with fresh fish & cold storage filled up with miso, radish wraps, a la carte banchan (side dishes), a huge selection of kimchi, tofu, noodles, & more. I normally stop by after work, usually for fruits, veggies, & meats, & browse the aisles for deals... like Shin Ramen Red Fiery Spicy Beef Ramen ($2.99/1 pack of 4), House Vermont Curry ($2.49), Binggrae Samanco: Brown Sugar Boba ($2.99). I typically get white peaches, red kiwis, Fuji apples, Asian pears, tangerines because their prices are usually lower & the fruits are aesthetically pretty (no bruising or moldy). New/featured (usually discounted) items are stocked by the entrance & at the ends of the aisles -- from snacks to ice creams, fresh & dry noodles to frozen items. And hot food items may be discounted at the end of the day. The market can serve your grocery needs, but you'll have to get lucky on deals/sales since they don't deliver a weekly grocery advertisement like the American markets; their weekly ad is powered online but it's hard to read on a cell phone even when the image is enlarged. Parking lot can get SUPER fisted. I had to circle a bit and the spots were a bit tight, so just keep that in mind since it's a busy plaza. I met with my friend here to eat at their food court on a Saturday brunch time, so makes sense for how busy it is. It's across the street from the mall as well. Great Korean market with tons of other Asian groceries. A few dollars cheaper than H mart and very clean and organized. Korean marinated BBQ meat by the pound in their meat section! Fresh produce, meat & seafood. New food court opening soon as part of the market only a few stalls open so far but should be open in the next month or so. Plenty of parking. This has become my go-to place whenever I am craving Korean food. It is now on my regular grocery shopping rotation because they also offer a wider selection of things that I like to eat compared to US chains. Not only is it fairly simple for me to navigate due to the size of the store, I love that it offers everything from Ramen to fun snack foods to fresh made radish kimchi - Kkakdugi. My routine is I stay along the outside of the vegetable section going by the wide selection of mushrooms and the fresh minced garlic. I then skirt by the tofu which is on the way to the fresh fish. To avoid fish-induced panic attacks on my end, I take a hard left and go through the bulk ramen (even Vegan) and Korean snacks. But if you love, fresh fish and seafood, this is your store - fresh cut or whole! I then surface near the freezers where I pick up a bunch of vegan kimbap rolls that are so easy to heat up for work lunches. I usually find a few gems in this area and that is how I "cook Korean" by heating up frozen stuff. ...Or, by buying fresh-made stuff in the back like kimchi pancakes, steamed sweet potatoes, Japchae, and fresh kimbap rolls. I keep telling myself I'm going to go in with an ingredient list and learn how to make the radish kimchi myself so that is my next goal. The best part about this market is that after you done shopping and you don't want to eat, you can drop into one of the many restaurants - I love Goob'ne chicken or the noodle house (can't remember the name). Workers here are a bit rude. Sometimes yelling across the store at each other. Cashier talking on the phone rudely says I'm closed and slaps down the closed sign. Came another time and cashier was roughly throwing the customers food items as he was bagging them himself. She didn't even try to help him during or after she rang him up. Just watched him struggle to bag and pay at the same time. Why is the service here so bad? This is the kind of service I'd expect from Walmart. Also don't get the sashimi here. It tasted off where I had to throw it away. I like how they have boxes of fruit. Got mangos but they weren't sweet compared to other places. The kimbap (depending which brand) is sometimes a hit or miss. I do like breaded fish. Feels like the food is not as good as it used to be or a quality control issue. They have a very large meat, fish, and vegetable section, as well as they have a lot of premade items such as kimchi, various instant Ramen dishes, and of course a great selection of rice. If you're looking for Korean side dishes, to complement your meal, they also have a very large selection of these items pre-made and pre-packaged. They also offer a nice selection of pre-made sashimi platters. Plus, if you're looking for things like live crab, which personally freaks me out, they offer those, as well. There are a few Asian-based food markets in Torrance and the greater Southbay area. They each offer a somewhat different selection of food items. This is a good thing in that the each have unique offerings for their specific customers. This market is no different. This is a large, well organized supermarket. It is highly designed for people who are very aware about Korean-based foods. Thus, it is ideally suited to someone who knows what they are looking for when they're going to an Asian-orientated supermarket. New grocery market! So aside from the grocery aspect, there are couple smaller stores inside this building as well as they are building a food court inside. The grocery portion takes up about half the building. They layout of the grocery store is not great. It is not fluid near the entrance. I came to see if they have sriracha during the sriracha shortage and they had it! For $9 per bottle. Definitely come back to check out food court once they are done construction. read more

I gave it a two star because the food and stuff are good but the employees are rude to anyone who's not Korean. It's honestly just the middle aged women that are cashiers. They pretty much only like to help people who are Korean. I get it's a Korean store but you can clearly see they treat anyone who isn't Korean as a pest. The only employees who are nice are the ones who work in the meat and fish section. Both the Korean and Latino employees actually serve you with mutual respect even though they have the same language barrier as the Korean women cashiers. I end up feeling like I gave money to the wrong place when I have to pay and they ring me up. This place honestly sucks just because of the cashiers and I have no idea for the life of me why all the cashiers are the same. read more

I give it 5 cause I' went here for the first time today and I loooooove the variety of seafood and selections for a reasonable price (that's why you have choices) of course they have the good shit and that can be expensive. I've shopped here many times since grand opening. Never had any problem with them. Today I was there to get some marinated BBQ meats. I noticed their chicken is on sale but I was curious about their regular price. So I reached out my arm to pull out the sale sticker to see the regular price behind it. Just as I started to pull... an employee from behind the counter got really angry when he saw me. He approached me and grabbed the price tag and took it with him behind the counter while raising his voice: YOU WANT TO KNOW THE REGULAR PRICE, YOU ASK ME!!! I was like is that how you treat your customers? I just want to know the regular price. What is the big deal? He keeps repeating, YOU WANT TO KNOW THE PRICE, YOU ASK ME!!!! Yes, with his voice raised and angry face. Cultural issue? Is this normal in Korea? I have no clue. I asked for the manager and he said: I AM THE MANAGER. So I went to the customer service desk to report they have a very rude employee in the meat department. A guy behind CS counter asked me, did you punch him? Then he smiles... I'm kidding. That leaves an impression that they knew about that employee's behavior. It isn't the first time. He's done it before. So anyway, the store manager said the rude guy is meat department manager and she is store manager. She apologized to me. Wasn't her fault but she apologized anyway. That's how a manager should behave. Polite. I want to leave a 1 star but it wouldn't be fair for all the time I have no issues with them. So I'm leaving 2 star. I will never buy their marinated BBQ meat until that meat dept manager either resigns or fired. read more

Love having more Korean markets nearby, especially since S Mart closed, breaking my heart. My hubby loves the Korean chicken Goobne in here, and I'm a fan of the Korean-Chinese food in the food court. I've gotten their pre marinated meat a few times and they've been great. Their fruits, veggies, chips, drinks section has been pretty well stocked, and I did like that they had a kimbap station to make fresh kimbap. A few oddities: I couldn't find fresh corn, and the eggs were like $10 a dozen. If that's the price they need to charge to make a profit on the eggs, they may as well buy it from Ralph's and double the price, it would still be cheaper. The price for everything else was fine. They also have Paris Baguette for your Korean bakery needs. If you've never had a cake from a Korean bakery, would highly recommend the fresh cream strawberry cakes. The cream is so amazing, you'll never go anywhere else! Also, don't be offended by the old school staff- one "gently" nudged me out of the way at the register to grab something and then took the empty basket out of my husbands hand without saying anything. I grew up in Koreatown and I'm very well aware that some old school Koreans will do this because they basically just treat you informally like family. However, if I were management, I would get train the staff to at least say excuse me and thank you because it can easily be misunderstood. read more

So nice to have this market open in my neighborhood. The market makes fresh rolled Kimbap- made for a yummy lunch. There is great selection of produce, fish, meat, prepared foods-everything is so fresh and packaged nicely. There is a small food court that currently has a Kyodon Noodle, Goobne Chicken and a Paris Baguette (extra happy about this!) .
