When I arrived home after picking up my $300 order I realized that two items (Sassy slaw) from my order were missing. I called the restaurant expecting they would help resolve the issue, but instead I was told that my order had been prepared correctly and that nothing was missing as I had substituted the missing items! Mistakes can happen at any restaurant, and I understand that. What was frustrating was the lack of willingness to acknowledge the possibility of an error or work toward a solution. Good customer service is about addressing concerns respectfully, and unfortunately that didn't happen here. I hope they improve how they handle customer issues in the future.

My steak sandwich was huge and the meat was as tender as I remember. So glad a friend mentioned he saw someone on social media who gave A-1 a glowing review that led us to grabbing sandwiches and hanging out at Averill Park to catch up on things. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative might be the parking which is street only. We got lucky and it wasn't very busy this is not always the case. There isn't anyplace to eat in the market but there is a park across the street. They do have some shady characters hanging around at times so you might want to find a different location to eat your food if you're not taking it home.

That's the one feature that puts a dent in my wallet...well, that and canned tomatoes. Why are canned tomatoes so darn expensive?? That DOP designation seems to add extra $$$. Honestly so good that I didn't need soy sauce. It was the perfect cut of thickness and no fishy smell. Honestly I don't know why didn't think of this any sooner! We are at Captain Kidds in Redondo Beach, CA! They are the seafood experts for decades and I feel bad for ever doubting their sashimi quality. It beats any sushi restaurant in the city. Plus it was so affordable because you are paying by the pound. Trust me go to the fish counter and order up some sashimi!
