This review is about the small restaurant inside the market. We ordered a couple of Korean dishes and two sushi rolls. The two Korean dishes were what I'd expect from a market food court but still a bit sub par (compared to K-Town). O-ging-uh dup bap was okay. My daughter ordered the chicken katsu and the although the katsu was okay the tonkatsu sauce tasted foul, nothing like katsu sauce. The bigger disappointment came from the two rolls we ordered, dynamite roll and crunch roll. First, two rolls didn't look anything remotely close to the picture on the wall menu but they did not taste good. The dynamite roll was made with spicy tuna which was probably really old tuna and it was topped with small shrimp and mayo spread and sriracha hot sauce (not even mixed together). The crunch roll looked and tasted like it was frozen and then thawed. Big disappointment. Never ordering any rolls from here again. read more

Before Super H Mart opened up, I frequented this place more often. There's a good variety of stuff here -- produce, packaged foods, candies, home products, etc. They've also got a bakery and several indoor food eateries. However, I do agree with others when they say the quality of the food isn't that great. They were selling persimmons when I came there yesterday and they were all bruised and overly ripe. Not to mention, their fruit selection isn't as good as other markets I've been to. I think things have changed since I first heard about Market World -- it seems like there's less produce in general, and their bakery even seems to be lacking selection. I'd recommend coming to Super H -- it's a lot bigger and there's a reason why more people come there. I have to admit though, it's an okay place to shop if you live really close by. But personally, it isn't my primary grocery store. read more

Huge korean supermarket with a wide variety of things, but very cramped. I come here to get everything and anything they need... they even have a few aisles that carry other ethnic foods. This place even has a bakery and two "restaurant/sit down" places inside that carry good food. They make fresh dumplings too and every weekend they have samples of different foods they carry there. I'm not going back to this place any more. The customer service representative was rude and did not care at all. I was trying to return an item, purchase two weeks ago. She keeps saying that the store policy is only one week to return. In fact, I wanted something similar but smaller. Older than H-Mart on Grand, not as old as Greenland Market on Colima. Sometimes cheaper than H-Mart, although definitely not as nice looking or clean. They do have a good dumpling vendor in the food court area who makes fresh dumplings which my family likes. Other than that, a typical Korean supermarket. read more

There's really no reason to go to this market given that the superior H-Mart is a couple of miles away. Except for the fact that it contains a food stall that sells excellent noodles and dumplings. I generally avoid grocery store food courts, but this place serves jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and jjambbong (seafood noodle soup) that is not only good given the setting but rivals any version that I've had. An older gentleman cooks everything to order and he is always there. The noodles in both dishes are perfectly cooked every time and the seasoning is just to my taste. The soup is gigantic and so I don't usually order the king sized steamed dumplings. But the times I have, they've been outstanding: moist, plump and flavorful. Don't expect anything in terms of decor. FYI: the store has 2 different food court areas; the one I'm talking about is on the left side as you walk in the store (next to the clothing shops). The one time I went to the other food court, they took over 40 minutes to bring me my food--it wasn't worth the intolerable wait. read more

They need to check their products. Rice crackers were stale and difficult to bite. 2 week past expired seaweed were still on the shelves. I'm scared that if they overlook those items that everything else they sell is past its freshness date. It's a health code violation that will send people to the hospital. read more

I love going there for authentic Korean snacks!! They still have plenty of things need to improve ~ compare with H mart~ they have better and more selection of Korean stuffs, but not the fruits and veggies ~ it is OK for me, because I mainly go there for snacks ~ great price too! False advertising. I was trying to buy some sake and the item in question was priced lower than the checkout price. All of the item in question was stocked under this price. Their stocking issue case a lot of confusion and problems for the customer. He didn't even promise to fix the pricing issue. I came back in to ask the managers name. After I went back in, Charlie Kim, the manager accused me of stealing the price tag after I left. I have never been so insulted in my life. It is his responsibility to take care of his store and he accused me of taking a price tag. All I did was come in to ask him name and he accused me of taking the price tag. Manager Kim had the gall to accuse me of stealing. Not only did he accuse me, a couple of his employees berated me and treated me poorly. They ganged up on me and tried to bully me by numbers and muscle. I talked to Mr. Kim and we came to an understanding. Although his fellow employees started to gang up on me and the security guard threatened me, Mr. Kim and I talked it out. I hope the advice I have given him will be taken to heart. I wanted to help and was misunderstood. Mr. Kim is a nice guy but today he did not handle the situation very well in the beginning. The security guard was rude and repeated tried to silence me with "shades, and shadda up" and "you talk to much" and he also tried to threaten me with pepper spray and tried to frighten me. He got real close to me and into my personal space. He was very rude and not how a person should act in that position. IN the end, Mr Kim did agree to sit down and talk and we had a civil discussion. I hope I never have to spend three hours trying to help and get berated and yelled at. If allowed, I would like to check the pricing of the product to make sure it is priced correctly. I hope that I am not hated for my attempt at point out this issue. Mr. Kim did invite me to come back to check and to give him a chance. I hope that he remedies the issue. read more

I thought Market World was a great store... until I discovered H Mart. I just came here today for the first time in probably a couple of years and I think it has improved some. It seems cleaner and less cluttered and they have a lot of things that H Mart has, such as a fish ball bar and a marinated meats. You can definitely get everything you need here, but it's still comes in second to H Mart. Check out their "home" store next door for some pretty good deals on dishes, containers, and appliances. read more

Came to get some marinated beef, the fact that it was next to the vegetable section and not the meat (they're on opposite ends of each other) seriously baffles me. Customer service is great though and that's pretty much they have to offer. The shopping baskets are cool though, they're like those rolling basket carts. The prices were cheap and decent like the Korean grocery store Zion in San Diego. A good place to do grocery shopping, ESPECIALLY fruits and vegetables but I didn't go grocery shopping here. I just came to pick up ddok snacks. They don't sell those in San Diego and I love those. I use to eat those every day and every week in Korea. The cashier had excellent customer service. They really cater to both Koreans and Americans obviously but the cashier was very well-trained. Polite and professional! Reminds me of customer service in Japan and Korea. I am happy to be reunited with my ddok snacks after many years of separation. Two thumbs up! Now I will try scarf down more ddok. read more

The prices are very reasonable. Way better than H-Mart in Diamond Bar. Small selection of Fish and Meat which is a downside but the place is worth going for the decent price and they also give out store cards where you add up points to get cash rebate - which is a new thing they added on. Freshness of Fruits and Veggies may lack at times but I usually go here for meat and other groceries so it's no biggie for me- Excellent excellent cashiers- good service! Love their prices and fresh produce compared to other asian markets in the area. Especially during the CV quarantine while other groceries were jacking up their prices, this market actually lowered some of their's, shows their dedication to serving the community. Have to give them a thumbs up for that. I go here quite frequently and service is decent, no nonsensical, maybe because they run into a lot of entitled complainers. Be warned of your car!!!! There's someone in the parking lot predatoring your car. I parked outside of the Hannam world market and my car was towed in one hour even the sign stated 3 hours parking limit. I parked my car there and went on my husbands car to carpool to run some errands. When we came back, he dropped me off at market's front entrance. I went directly into the market for grocery. When I came out of market with full basket of food, I noticed my car was towed. This is predatory and illegal towing. I was so upset that I returned all my grocery back to Hannam. The manager of Hannam didn't even give a damn thing about your car being towed. I will not shop at Hannam again bcoz this is how they treat their customers. They don't deserve my business. If they don't fix the parking lot problem, Hannam will loose a lot of customers. Also, I've noticed that they are selling more roden vege and fruits that they don't take off from the shelves. I will continue my royalty with 99 ranch market where they have security watch over my car and better/friendly staff and fresh produce. read more

Not my 1st time here. Eating here is a ripoff. I clearly asked if the lobster roll had real lobster on it, and surely i was disappointed when they dropped off a california roll with tempura crumbs all over it. The cali roll wasn't even good. The avacado they used was too ripe. Typical cheapskate decisions. Needless to say, the workers here are unsanitary. I hope they train the servers to wash their hands at least. My friend who ordered one of those rice bowls and there was only a spoonful of meat!!...also not satisfied. I will not be returning here again. I bought this fried fish $4.25 because I need protein and it sounds like a good idea to have quick lunch in my car. But when I finished one yellow croaker fish and started to work on the second one, I found a 4 inch long white worm under fish's skin( in between skin and flesh) - it is worm because it is stretchy and not breaking up. It has a pinkish end in one end. The rest of it is white. I am..... speechless. read more

This is one of the worst and least friendly Korean market. The sign said no cleaning for frozen fish. The fish was not frozen. You can squeeze the fishes and they feel soft. They refused to clean. Manager - an older Korean man wearing glasses , came by. I asked him to touch the fishes to see if they are even frozen. He refused. Manager said they don't want to do it so what can he do. I squeeze the fishes in front of him - he said don't squeeze it and walked away throwing his hands up. I would never come by here again. I would give less than one star for the service. read more

Be careful when you park here. My car was towed after an hour of parking even though the signs said 3 hour parking. This place is very high in predator towing. You should see an old man that is sitting in his car behind bobs burger, he is a scout and was hired by the Hanan Market chain to keep track of cars that are parked. Once you walk away from your car he will call a towing company called Chino Towing and your car will be towed to Chino about 12 miles away. Cost me $340 in cash to get the car back. read more

A " Rotten" Experience.... If you want to get food-poisoned by spoiled pork intestines a.k.a. "soondae," a korean delicacy - then you've come to the right location. Han nam Chain is not my first choice Korean supermarket. The reasons are clear: 1) a lot of their stock food items are expired - thus, you have to look closely at the expiration date, 2) service is horrible, in that the employees don't want to serve you AND 3) they sell ROTTEN soondae. The last reason stated is probably biased since it was a personal experience - but as a consumer, I feel that I need to tell my story: I went here to do some grocery shopping with my visiting mom, being that it was conveniently located to my place. They have a "deli" section where they sell all sorts of pre-packaged foods - Korean dumplings, Korean pancakes, Rice Cakes, Glass Noodles. But don't let these colorful, savory-looking suckers tease your taste buds. Think before your nose-to-hand reflex takes effect. My mom was craving soondae, so we bought a pack of it and she ate about 5 of those fungi-infested balls before she starting feeling "sick to the stomach" and nauseated. When we got home, she took a close look at the soondae and noticed white spots all over several of them. We broke apart the soondae pieces and noticed sticky white curd-like strings while picking at them. MOLD. Infuriated, I called to speak with the manager of Han Nam Chain. I told him the story, and to my distraught - no apology, no "is your mom OK." He just kept on defending his store, that they would never sell such items. Only after I threatened him that I would report his store to the Health Department of Los Angeles, he said that he'd give us refund if we brought it back in. WTF? We didn't want a refund, we wanted an apology! I reported this to the Health Department, and to date, its been over a year and I haven't heard back from them. So beware - don't let the deli section fool you; if you do decide to pick something up from the deli at this particular Han Nam Chain on Golden Springs, I would think twice, regardless of the expiration date. read more

Only Korean market around us that is close enough from home. However, every time I come in, especially yesterday when I came in and picked up a few groceries for 4th of July, I feel I was discriminated by the security guard. While paying for my item, my mother called me to remind me to pick up Clorox. So after I paid, I told my husband to go back with me really quick to pick up Clorox. As I started walking, in the corner of my eyes, I see the security guard following us. I'm trying to look aisle to aisle where this Clorox could be. I did not even walk up and down the aisle, people. He sees me taking a glimpse of each aisle trying to figure out where they put the cleaning materials. Finally, my husband sees the aisle where they're at and I started looking around to see where they have stocked the bigger sizes. I found them and right when I walked down the aisle, I see the security guard standing next to my husband. I immediately thought, really? Does this guy think I'm stealing? I heard my husband say to him, "What's up, man?" The security guard said, "You're walking with a bag." Okkkaayyy?!? Anyway, as I walked pass him, I said, "What? You think I'm going to steal this?" People, the Clorox was huge.... there are 10 staff standing around the entrance checking out people. Instead of asking, "Can I help you find something?" He immediately assumes I'm stealing Clorox. I didn't get to talk to the manager about this incident, but I hope they read this review and make an action. Note to management, set-up cameras around the market and you'll see who's stealing from you rather than assuming that everyone is stealing from you. #nevercomingback read more

The prices are quite cheap for produce, but you run the risk of produce that's gone bad which I think is a big deal. Lots of variety in the pre-packaged section for banchan and kimbap. Cashiers will not talk to you or look at you unless you know Korean. read more

My car got towed at the parking lot of this supermarket. It costed me $245 to get my car back. I sometime go there for the noodle at the food court of this supermarket. After this incident, I will never set foot on this Supermarket anymore. What a wonderful way to get rid of customers!! read more

Bought a jar of radish kimchi last night. Got home, opened it, took one bite and realized the brine has turned fizzy and the radish tasted way funky. I had such a craving for kimchi but too bad. Decided to return the jar this morning. The return policy for perishables is 24 hours. Arrived at 930am and went straight to the customer service kiosk. As I explain the reason why I want to return the kimchi, the lady just said, Korean people like it, but it's OK, I will return for you, but Korean people like this. Really lady? I used to get homemade kimchi from my friend but i go through them too fast and I didn't want to keep asking my friend, so I decided to buy some. Lol. It's not my first time eating kimchi so if you are gonna say that Korean people like to eat rancid kimchi then OK, I won't argue, but I hope they don't put the jar back for the next poor soul to buy and eat and get sick from it. Sorry Hannam, a few years back, you were the go-to place of Korean Markets around Diamond Bar. There are fewer varieties of items in this market, and the items are more expensive. If you want to get some Korean food, I'd definitely suggest the more popular H-Mart. read more

I've been coming here since I was in high school. It's my mom's and my secret lunch spot. When we've both had a long day of grocery shopping, which can work up quite an appetite who come here to this market and they have a small food court. We both always order the sashimi salad. The hot sauce is what really makes that salad... This mark is great, great produce, great prices. When can you really go wrong with an "asian" market. Right? Anyways, it's close to the freeway and has a huge parking lot. If you ever need produce, they have plenty. read more

seems random right? not really- makes perfect sense. every time you watch those bomb korean dramas they always: a) eat the most delish looking ramen and b) always have the cutest bling! whether it be scarves/rings/jewelry, etc, YOU WANT IT TOO! HV/MA has achieved the seemingly impossible by merging two into one. you can rent the latest here on blu-ray or dvd (hmm mebbe only dvd, not entirely sure), and then once you determine whats 'in' back in the motherland by way of drama, buy these awesomely priced little bijous to wear! bling bling! read more

Clean, fresh, and seriously the best place to get fresh clams! I know there's just about a billion korean and other asian markets around this little hood and each one has their own "specialities" per say. For fresh clams though, nothing beach Hannam Chain in both price and quality!! read more
