I have been to this market once previously. We bought 1 1/2 lbs of haddock and 4 crab cakes. All delicious. Made a point of getting my traditional 3 1/2 lbs of Father's Day steamers because of my first experience (I usually go to Jake's for steamers). Very disappointed. Steamers were completely tasteless and uneventful. I'll give them another try, but it was a downer. read more

Terrific customer service, both over the phone and in person. Best lobster I've ever bought -- and that includes a great many big fat Maine-caught lobsters. The striped bass I ordered as a gift for a friend's dinner party a few years back? It was ready on ice for my friend went to pick it up -- and this was before curbside delivery and pick-up, or at least as we know them now. We were driving by the other day and saw striped bass on the sign . We stopped and bought a piece. Price was better than I expected since is is very seasonal. I haven't had it for two years. Cooked it tonight and I have to say it was just perfect! All it needs is a little butter and a squeeze of lemon. Delicious! Hopefully they will have some more this week. read more

Based on recent interactions with Ryan, I cannot recommend the service at this store! He left an angry and blameful message on my voicemail and then followed that up with more rudeness on a followup phone conversation. I wish I could post audio? Due to Holiday rush I could not get near his store on 3 separate tries, nor were they answering the phone to make some other arrangement to pick small order up without risking a car accident or COVID! I first want to say I'm glad they're doing COVID safety. Appreciate that! The chalkboard list of things you have to truly offer was not up to date. So we got our hopes up just to find out you didn't have any. My mom wanted just a cup of your chowder but we again were disappointed because you only offered a half of a gallon as the smallest serving! While I am mentioning my disappointment I must say I do wish she told me that the stuffed clams were FROZEN SOLID because I believed I was buying from a fresh seafood place. Not a huge problem but I do think it was worth mentioning. We also were offered some wild scrod in place of flounder and that was very good. So abit of yes and abit more of no! read more

We just had a good old fashioned lobster dinner with the family, with lobsters ordered from here. (We had called roughly half a dozen local fish markets for the price, which was within $1/ lb. at all of them.) My Mom has ordered from here in previous years, and the quality was no exception this summer. The lobster was so succulent; fresh, sweet, perfect. I've only had the lobster from here, but I wouldn't hesitate to indulge in any of their seafood offerings. And, upon request, they'll cook your lobster free of charge! (We placed our order a day and a half in advance, but I don't think you actually have to give that much notice.) I would highly recommend to friends and family. I called last minute Saturday. Only an hour and a half before closing to order 4 lobsters for mothers day, and was delightfully impressed. The man who answered the phone was very helpful, despite being very busy and overwhelmed I'm sure. He recommended I get the large lobsters. Yes a little more expensive, but AMAZING quality! I placed my order, gave my credit info and name, and he also recommended the best time to arrive for pickup. I arrived at the recommended time to a rather busy lot, but despite how busy they were they were prompt and polite. He asked my name and immediately knew my order. He went inside to get my lobsters and was back in what felt like mere moments. He gave me my order and thanked me for my business! I am only sorry I didn't get his name. I would love to give him a shout out for exceptional service! Thank you to everyone at Hanover Lobster & Seafood for not only a high quality meal, but your exceptional service. You helped provided me with some normalcy to my Mothers Day. Having lobster with my mother and sister is a tradition we have done since I can remember! Snotty, conceited and treated me like crap. My first (and last!) visit there, was looking for lobster salad. They only carried shucked lobster meat, for $60/pound. Manager told me just to add my own ingredients. I didn't want to spend quite that much money, but the stuffed quahogs looked good so I merely ordered two of those...my bill was only a few dollars. When I handed him my debit card he made a big deal about $10 minimum charges in front of other customers...being very condescending and made me feel like I was some sort of an idiot. He tossed my unpaid for order on the counter and rolled his eyes to the next customer and asked her ever so sweetly how she was doing today. Implying that I was an idiot. I was so embarrassed and made to feel like I was a major PIA to them. will not go back ever again. read more
