The jumbo lobster roll with butter was the best we've had. At least 1/2 a pound of lobster (with plenty of tail meat). Highly recommend.

My imagination thought Previte's Marketplace was a large supermarket type place. Nope. It has a small footprint with a small parking lot off a rather busy street in Weymouth. And Weymouth Lobster Pound looks like one of the counters there, besides their butcher area, and their hot and cold food counters. Nope, Weymouth Lobster Pound is its own separate business. On this visit in February, their lobster rolls were $16.99+tax for 4 oz of lobster salad, and $24+tax for 7 oz. The bun is the same for both, and gets toasted. Service was pleasant. I went with the large. My roll was well filled, seemingly with claw and knuckle meat, and the bread was tasty. Charging is subject to a 4% fee. read more

The lobster pound is inside a market and has only a 4-6 foot presence, but they are able to work miracles in that space. Lots of seafood to go and cook at home, but since we were coming from Boston to the Cape we needed food ready to eat. The lobster roll and clam chowder fit the bill. Both were amazing and just outside the store there are places to sit and eat. Definitely would come back next time we are traveling this area. Best hidden gem in the south shore area. My friend introduce me to this awesome place for lobster roll and clam chowder. The lobster roll was filled with lobster meats, I chose butter style (not mayo and they have that too). Roll is small for $14 and jumbo $23, I went for jumbo of course. Do not order stuffed lobsters!!! My family ordered 11 stuffed lobsters. The stuffing was good. The actual lobsters themselves were dead and not edible. You can see in the photos that the lobster tails after being baked per their instructions the tails are white and mushy, I looked it up online and it says I need to return them and call for a refund because u can't eat that. I eat lobster very frequently have have never had this white mushy lobster consistency before. I called the store for a refund and the lady told me she was too busy and there is nothing she can do because she did everything correctly. Not even an apology. My father ate the lobster tail as is, I noticed it when I opened it and told everyone not to eat it. He and was nauseous all night. Do not get their stuffed lobsters for this reason, it's not safe to eat if the tails are white and mushy. read more

No one's really necessarily looking for a lobster roll inside a specialty market like @previtesmarketplace but inside this market is Weymouth Lobster Pound. I typically get lobster rolls and casserole. Next time I hope to get the bisque. The rolls are your typically toasted, buttered New England Frankfurter rolls and the lobster is lightly dressed. The lobster casserole is dressed with a Ritz cracker topping that is often too much. You order and check out right at the lobster pound counter. Don't mind the Previte's line, the lobster pound is separate. Parking can be tough on the weekend. Save room for @fratellispastry which is right next door. read more

Lorraine runs a fantastic business. I always call ahead and I've never had to wait! The prices are on point and the food is delicious. It's inside Previte's Market on the Hingham/Weymouth line and the parking lot can be a bit dicey, but that's not anyone's fault! First, you should know Weymouth Lobster Pound is a restaurant inside a very popular local market next to a very popular bakery. Kind of a food hall before food halls were popular. Head straight to the side wall away from the deli counter when you enter. You will see the sign for lobster. The woman behind the counter is the same wonderful woman who made rolls for my mum. She's funny, attentive, and passionate. I always get my rolls grilled. As the owner said during my most recent visit, "I want to eat these ones myself they look so tasty!" They are. You may end up eating the rolls your were supposed to bring to family in the car and your own roll...then you have to walk back inside and place an order again. Knowing thry weren't going to be eaten right away she offered to seperate the bun and lobster meat. Got home and filled them. Wow the lobster meat was pouring out because she gave so much, just like the pictures I've seen on FB. I got 2 butter and 2 mayo. Both are really yummy. The cups of clam chowder were $ each. Very good as well but it's different. Taste a little cheesy or lemony but still good. Thick and lots of clams. Call to order ahead if time. I should have taken a picture but was too hungry.
