There are a few picnic tables, but since there was an event today with live music and a beer tent, it was busier than usual (according to my friend who's been there before). Unfortunately we weren't able to find seating, but it was still fun eating our food standing up and you can also sit on the rocks by the water. You can also grab your food to go. They are old school and cash only, and you order at a window, get your little buzzer, and wait to pick up your food. Do I think $58 for a jumbo lobster roll is expensive (regular is around $40)? Yes. Was it the best lobster roll I've ever had? Also yes. It was just a little buttery, with a generous heap of lobster meat that was fresh and juicy, on a nice buttered roll. We had to eat most of the meat with a fork before biting into the roll. My husband and I shared the jumbo roll as well as a bowl of clam chowder, which was delicious and also came with a pretty generous amount of seafood in it. It was enough to fill us up for an early dinner. The pale ales we got were also great. I think they do have bathrooms that are not portapotties but there was a line so I didn't get to use them. When we walked in they said they were closed. (I hadn't looked online) but they gave us Shrimp cocktail, clam chowder and a bonus fish stew, I've never tried that before and it was AMAZING! This feels like a pay it forward moment that I won't forget after feeling so sad about the experience down the street and having my kids be so hungry after a Long Beach day.
